As you know, Chroma: Bloom and Blight released yesterday and weve been blown away by your support for the game. As of writing this, over 7000 of you have downloaded Chroma, a number we dreamed of hitting in the opening month, not the opening 20 hours! One of the most important parts of any game release is the feedback from the community, and trust us when we say weve been listening. There has been a lot of feedback towards the new player experience, more specifically the lack of a tutorial. Before we go into the rework of the new player experience, we wanted to answer the question weve been asked a lot, whys there no tutorial? The short answer here is lack of time. We are a very small development team, and with development resources running tight we had to release the game. A tutorial was something we spoke a lot about, but committing development to a tutorial would have put the games development behind in other areas. We opted to go for a play to learn approach with the learn tab, which wasnt well-received by many players, so were re-adjusting it. You deserve to understand Chroma...so were going to teach you! Let us start by saying this is not going to be a fully interactive tutorial, currently there are no plans to bring an interactive tutorial to the game. However, we agree with your feedback and the learn tab is a little underwhelming and deserves to be a lot more. This is our primary focus right now. The current learn tab will be replaced with a much more in-depth tutorial, acting like a more traditional rule book. This will work on a three-tier system; a completely new player section, advanced mechanics section, and expert tips section. There will also be a video accompanying the new tutorial tab, this will bring some visual clarification to the in-depth tutorial text. What else were working on As we mentioned above, the launch of Chroma brought about a lot of community feedback. Another area that was highlighted was the overall UI. We are not completely overhauling the in-game UI, but there have been some excellent suggestions which we are working on. The development of the in-game UI isnt something that can or will change overnight, but its something we will be looking at over time to ensure the best player experience, for both new and experienced players. Thank you to everyone who has joined us for an adventure in Arholt. Whether you just dipped your toes in or havent stopped playing since launch, we cant thank you enough for your support. Many thanks, Clarity Games
