Version 2.6 Now Available: Observe the Ever-Changing World

An immensely old Spirit that has ascended to great power countless times over the ages and then destroyed that power each time, severing huge pieces of itself to become small once again. The Invaders arrival has pushed it to grow much more quickly than it usually would, re-learning lessons and powers from its deep past in order to fight more effectively.

Instead of laying the Island Boards out as a single island, you can now create two or more smaller islets. Archipelagos are very good at dividing up what board elements a given player most needs to pay attention to, and can make larger games much easier for players to scan and think about.

You can now include an extra board to defend, with no Spirit starting on it. This provides a different sort of Difficulty boost from Adversaries or Scenarios. The higher Difficulty the game already is, the more Difficulty another board will add. No additional purchase is required; you will gain access to the new content and features with your existing purchase of Jagged Earth. You can learn more about the new features and associated rules in the How to Play screen. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2419041/Spirit_Island__Jagged_Earth The Steam Spring Sale starts today! At the end of the sale on March 20th, the full retail price of Jagged Earth ($24.99 USD) will come into effect. Until then, you can still get it at a 10% discount, so don't delay!

As Spirit Island games can get more and more complex, it can be a burden to try to complete an online multiplayer game in a single session. In this update, we have added a new feature to save your multiplayer game and continue it later, as many times as you like. During gameplay, all players can vote together to agree to Save For Later from the multiplayer status panel. After doing so, a Resume Game button will appear on the multiplayer menu screen. From there, you can resume along with the players who were previously in the game.

In the most distant reaches of the world, magic still exists, embodied by spirits of the land, of the sky, and of every natural thing. As the great powers of Europe stretch their colonial empires further and further, they will inevitably lay claim to a place where spirits still hold power - and when they do, the land itself will fight back alongside the islanders who live there.
Spirit Island is a cooperative, settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss and set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. Players become different spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental powers, forced to defend their island home from colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction. Your spirits work with the native islanders to increase your power and drive the invading colonists from your island in this strategic area-control game.
In Spirit Island, players choose between 1-4 spirits to control. The number of spirits determines the size of the island:
Spirit Island is planned to include the following:
- 8 different Spirits, each with 4 Powers unique to that Spirit
- Over 50 distinct Major and Minor Powers which Spirits can grow into
- A modular island, made up of 4 modular Boards, for a variety of layouts
- 15 Invader cards, driving a distinctive Invader expansion system
- 15 Fear cards, showing what happens as you terrify the Invader
- 3 multi-tier Adversaries (specific Invaders) for play variety and fine-tuned challenge: England, Brandenburg-Prussia, and Sweden
- 4 optional Scenarios for even more play variety
