Were thrilled to announce that the Pocket Cars full 1.0 version is coming to Steam on December 11! Throughout Early Access, we received invaluable feedback from you, and we've worked hard to make the game the best it can be.
Behind the Scenes: The Road to Pocket Cars 1.0
During development, we encountered some exciting twists and turns, with many ideas exploredsome made it to the final game, while others remain interesting glimpses of what could have been. Heres a look back at a few original concepts: [olist]
Originally, cars would have needed recharging mid-race by passing over special charging platforms. If multiple cars were on a platform, the charge would be split, and any car running out of power would be disqualified. We quickly realized this was more frustrating than fun, so the idea was scrapped.
This was the first Museum environment we created, but it wasnt well-suited for racing tracks, so we redesigned it from scratch to create a more competitive layout.
Our original plan was for checkpoints to appear in random order, making open tracks essential. However, this turned out to be too challenging for the AI, so we didnt pursue it. Could this make a comeback as a future online mode? Stay tuned!
Initially, we didnt plan for multiple languages, but player feedback made it clear that this was important to many of you, so we worked to make Pocket Cars enjoyable in as many languages as possible.
The Stunt Arena mode was entirely inspired by the community! It wasnt on our roadmap at all, but thanks to your feedback, it became a reality and is now a fan favorite.
We thought multiplayer might come after the 1.0 release, but with so many requests, we brought it forward and made it a core feature sooner than planned!

Spectator
We had a problem with our game's online mode: If you found a server, you could't connect
while the race was in progress.
This led to the addition of a Spectator mode. Now you can jump-in anytime.
If you not found your opponents, check the Discord community, where you can informed about races.
Profile
New menu has opened in the Extras. Here you can find your statistics and even delete your progress.

First of all ... the multiplayer mode is available! We planned it before, but now you get more features in one update. (Despite all this, I would just call it a "preview" version.)

create and join servers, use matchmaking, select your preferred region, play race event, use all weapons / cars / tires, vote for restart, select next event, Windows-Linux crossplatform

Hey gamers! The last update was a long time ago, but the work didn't stop! We thought we would summarize what contents are under development.
Stability
The latest update to PocketCars (v0.67) included many bug fixes and engine improvements. According to the analytics, there was a large reduction in errors and crashes. We thought this was a good basis to work on bigger improvements.
Customization
One of the biggest feature comes soon. You can customize colors and materials of body, rims, springs, and antenna. Of course, stickers can also be added. The selection may expand later.
... and an important question for you: The Steamworks give an opportunity to share custom content between players. We can expand the game's skin editor with online skin sharing option. What do you think about this? Write your opinion in the comments section. (Of course, it only arrives after multiplayer.)
New maps
Two maps are under development. The "Museum" map will be a multi-level building with mostly flat surfaces and the game's first indoor environment. Contra with that, the "Ruins" will be a really off-road and rocky seaside.

Multiplayer
Many have written that multiplayer is very much needed, so we bring it forward. We have already started the first tests. Our public Discord channel will also be launched soon. Have fun racing! Stunt Arena
New game mode is available! To achieve scores you need to do tricks (or collect stars) in the Stunt Arena.
Of course, you can play split screen with your friends. Show how good you are! You can also use new weapons what fit this new style.

Star score system
Was it unclear how the game works? Did you get the checkmarks for completing the challenges, and was it a pendant next to your avatar, who understand it?
We have unified all of this to a "star collecting" based score system.
You can customize the complexity of ingame HUD in the options/general menu, so you can even see the current challenges during the race.
Relax! Of course, the checkmarks collected so far have not disappeared, they turned into stars.
Rewards list
You can see your game progress,or next unlock milestones.
Guides
You can get more informations about cars, tires and weapons, so this makes it easier for you to decide what you like, what you want to choose.
These information will appear in the garage and in the weapon-selection menu too.
Visuals
You will know better the right direction!
We also slightly changed the look of the Checkpoint, similar style as arrows...Matchy-matchy :-)
The look is not everything, but...weve changed the appearance of some weapons.
And yes, there is some resolution-quality update too.

Time Attack
Why choose weapon in the trial mode? There is the reason!
We have completely rethought this - sometimes rather boring - circling.
Now it will be available as Time Attack ---> You can earn bonus seconds by breaking boxes on the race track. The bonus time will deducted from the race time and the current lap time too.
Balance plays a very important role everywhere, sooo we also have to overcome the Time Attacks challenges. Unfortunately, you have to play some events again. Something for something :-)
Photo Mode
If you like to capture everything, you will be very happy with the photo mode! You can take picture (in the pause menu) of your car during the race, or even of your opponents exploded car.
Feel free! Free camera positioning, filter usage for the best photo.
You can find the photos you have in your Steam gallery, which you can share with your friends.
