As some of you know, there was an issue that prevented us from updating the Linux build to 1.8.92. We've finally managed to fix this, and the native Linux version is now the same build as the Windows version. There should now be no more problems connecting and playing CO-OP mode between these systems. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Fury Unleashed is now Steam Deck verified!
Today's update consists of the changes listed below:
- Better controller type detection for the in-game prompts.
- Some UI elements, story segments & text were enlarged for better readability.
- The UI scaling option now defaults to 200% when the game is launched on Steam Deck.
- When playing on Steam Deck in handheld mode, the "Auto" graphics settings no longer reduce the quality of the related options when the game's FPS/refresh rate is locked to a value lower than 60.
- Other minor improvements & bug/stability fixes.

- The background layers in the Epilogue chapter are now less intrusive to make the gameplay-important layers be more distinguishable/readable. Let us know if this improves your experience!
- Fix for the players getting stuck not being able to interact with an item/reward portal after defeating a boss in co-op modes while the other player have a completed quest status active.
- Fix for the cases of the input being doubled to the second player controller in the local co-op mode.
- Control mapper updated to support new controller types (e.g. PS5/DualSense controller).
- An online co-op session no longer pauses for both players when alt-tabbing / switching focus.
- Added a new option in main menu to inform about new games we're working on.

Hey all! We've just pushed an update containing these changes:
- Further balance of the number of traps: sawblades, projectile launchers, acid drops, floor mines, laser beams, etc.
- Removal of the "H" (Hero Stats) keyboard shortcut, which caused issues in online cooperation mode. The Hero Stats is fully accessible from the pause menu.
- Fix for the visual error of ammo indicator sometimes being stuck on the screen in front of the player, when playing with a controller.
- Other minor improvements/fixes.

We always take the feedback from our players seriously, and upon the one we've received about the Online CO-OP mode, we're providing changes listed below:
- Ink orbs, blood orbs (HP), and grenade boxes drop are now fully synced between both players in Online CO-OP.
- Increased number of item portals spawning in CO-OP; there are now 2 more portals per comic-book page / level.
- Weapons are now two times more common among all item types in CO-OP modes to compensate double the number of players needing them.
- Players in CO-OP modes now respawn with the same equipment & weapons they've had before dying.
- Balance: Respawning players now have the current HP amount of the living player instead of 100%.
- Balance: When changing comic-book pages (levels), the current HP amount of the player who has the lowest health will be set to the amount of the other player's HP (ex. P1: 80/120, P2: 50/100 -> P1: 80/120, P2: 80/100).
- Possible fix for the loading screen freeze that could have happened while changing comic-book worlds (most commonly between worlds 1 & 2).
- Other minor improvements & bug fixes.

Improvements & Quality of Life changes!
Naturally, the new co-op mode isn't everything, as while we were working on the update, we've improved other things too! As previously mentioned, our players' feedback was invaluable while working on them, so as always - thank you for all the reports and suggestions! We wouldn't be here if it's not for all the awesome Furies around the world :)
- Addition of the controller vibration with different preset modes included. Try it out, it's awesome!
- The Save & Quit feature can now be used in every game mode, that includes Online Co-Op.
- In co-op modes, combo time is now increased by 50% while both players are alive.
- Difficulty spike reduction tweaks for the second and third page of the first comic-book world.
- The shield of enemies that wield it, can now be pierced, blocking 60% of damage (from 100%).
- More improvements to translations, with support for the new online-related lines.
- Another set of minor improvements and bug-fixes to both co-op modes.

Oh, how the time flies! It was like yesterday that we've announced the beta phase of the online co-op game mode in Fury Unleashed, and now we're getting ready for the next step - more on it below. We're also happy to release another set of improvements from the beta build into the stable release for all of you to enjoy! [hr][/hr]
This update is Windows-only at the moment. The macOS & Linux versions will be updated soon. Sorry for the delay!

Online Co-Op Beta - Second Phase
The Online Co-Op mode is now available for everyone in the PC version of the game - that means Linux and macOS also. You can play it on the main build version, by selecting it from the main menu. We might not be ready to release Online Co-Op as a finished product just yet, but we can't wait anymore to share the fruit of our combined effort with you, our players! The beta branch proved to be very helpful to find all the new ways to break the game and make it cry in the corner. We've since bought so many sweet and comfort things to ease out its pain, that we believe the core problems to be fixed already. But, non-core problems are problems still, so we can't say our work on the online mode is done. That's why it is still labelled as a "BETA", but now, it's even more accessible and easier to just jump in and have fun with friends old and new.
Fixes & Quality of Life
While we worked on the online mode, we've also implemented lots of improvements to the overall experience, which will also changes few things in both single player & local co-op modes. Some of those changes consist of things we've been asked about, but for different reasons were on the back burner of the to-do list. It's always important for us to receive feedback from you - the players - on what would you like to see improved/changed, as it's entirely possible, that we'll implement these things in the future. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts with us! Here's a very brief list of changes. Take note, that it consists of few spoilers!
- Enemies in the Epilogue chapter now [spoiler]drop black ink, to ease out the leveling experience[/spoiler].
- "SUPERHOT" & "Crypt of the NecroDancer" game modes can now be played with "Full" controller aim-assist (previously "High" was the maximum), making them more accessible for all players.
- Some bosses had their amount of HP adjusted, not to feel so "spongy" and improve the flow.
- Crash fixes for the Steam Workshop interface and other rare circumstances & cases.
- Some UI elements are now properly selectable and/or clickable with every controller option.
- Improved translations for every language, with support for the new online-related lines.
- Dozens of improvements to both co-op modes. E.g. [spoiler]player resurrection[/spoiler] inside the Epilogue chapter.
Thankfully, most of these are now marked as "DONE"
What's next?
As always, we try to be as transparent, as we can. Online co-op took way more time to implement than we originally anticipated, and the global pandemic certainly didn't help with the schedules. While not being flawless with the dates, we strive to improve! We're still working hard on polishing the player experience and won't stop until online mode is ready to be fully release on both the PC and consoles. What comes after wholly depends on the game's popularity and demand. We've got heads full of ideas and passion, so we hope for all of you to stay with us and support us going further into the great unknown - our fun might just begin! As you might already know, we're actively working on the online component of the game, and we're finally nearing the final steps of the process. Still, there's a lot to do, and we hope you can help us with that, and so... We'd like to officially invite our Steam players to the Online Co-Op beta test!
Important information!
- Unfortunately, due to the streamlining of the updating process, this beta test is limited to the Windows version of the game.
- Each player need to have the full version of the game in their library (remember, that you can also enjoy the "Remote Play Together" Steam option with local co-op on a single copy).
- There are errors, bugs & glitches. Some might force both host and the client to ALT+F4 out of the game. It's a beta, so it's only natural. We count on you to help us squash them out!
- When it's fully done, as promised, Online Co-Op will be also available on all the supported platforms and consoles - not only Steam.

We'll be soon launching an open beta for Co-Op mode. For anyone interested in participating - please read on! Some hurdles were harder to overcome than we've anticipated, but the online implementation is getting closer with each passing day. Currently, there are a few caveats that still need to be ironed out, but most of the base gameplay is working smoothly. It will soon be possible for everyone to enjoy the game together, no matter the distance between you and the second player, and we can't wait for all the stories you'll tell us about it!

Crypt of the NecroDancer
What is it about?
This mode lets you play the role of Cadence, the hero of the original game (of the same title). Armed with a trusted shovel and a deadly crossbow, she waltzes through the game's diverse environments, shooting bad guys to the rhythm of the music. The tempo of the music tracks varies level to level, culminating within main boss arenas in which players have to stay true to the rhythm to survive.
How to unlock it?
Each comic-book is a level of its own, so you'll need to defeat one of the main bosses in a set comic at least once, to access its content in "Crypt of the NecroDancer - Fury Unleashed" mode. There are 3 levels overall, each for every comic-book.
SUPERHOT
What is it about?
"SUPERHOT" turns around the ingame rules, making time stop when the hero doesn't move and flow when they do. That doesn't mean the game's easy though, as you now can survive just one hit before starting over. Still, you can use the Fury Unleashed's combo system to get additional damage shields based on how well you dispose of the enemies standing before you.
How to unlock it?
Each comic-book is a level of its own, so you'll need to defeat one of the main bosses in a set comic at least once, to access its content in "SUPERHOT - Fury Unleashed" mode. There are 3 levels overall, each for every comic-book.

One of the two main features that we've promised is now officially available on Steam!
Save & Quit!
We're finally able to bring you the new feature, which lets you close the game and come back later to continue playing the same run. We're sorry it took so long, but it required a lot more work than we thought. Still, we strive for the best and hope this new feature will be a help to all of you, as well as a great foundation for the online session loading system, that's needed for the upcoming online co-op mode. Currently, both single-player and local co-op games can be saved but keep in mind that you can only store a single save-state at a time. The system allows you to exit the current run and reload it later at any time, except for these cases:
- While fighting any of the mini & main bosses,
- In the tutorial level, as well as some other plot points of the game,
- Inside secret & sketch trap levels/events,
- If the application is force-quitted (e.g. ALT+F4).

Good news! We're closing into the next big update, which will feature Save & Quit feature as well as two new game modes! From there on, it will be a straight road to making the game work online, as well as adding some polish to the co-op mode overall. First, we'd like to ask you for your help! The Save & Quit feature is something, that required lots of work from us to work as intended, but there are probably still some things that might need tweaking. Because of that, we're organizing an open beta of the feature for all Fury Unleashed players on Windows.

It has been some time since the last update; we understand that for some of our fans, it might felt like an eternity. Some of us had a short break to catch a breath after years of development of Fury Unleashed and return to you with new ideas and energy to implement them.
We've also been steadily working on adding the foundations for Online Co-op mode, and it will come in a later update. For that reason, we've been implementing a Save & Quit feature, which is now almost complete, but we've wanted to test and polish it a bit more before the public release. We're also changing the version naming (1.0.4 > 1.5) with the aim of unifying the numbering with the other (console) versions of the game. Sorry for the potential confusion!
Still, we didn't want you to wait any longer, so here's a slew of fixes, upgrades, and additions to the game - enjoy!
Interface scaling!
Some of you were asking us for a way to increase the readability of the game, especially on smaller screens or being far from the TV. Thanks to your feedback, there's now a new slider in the options menu. It lets you decide on the size of the in-game font as well as of selected interface elements. Grab your favorite brand of tea, cover yourself with a blanket, and unleash your fury from the comfort of your sofa, without the added strain on your eyes.
Steam Rich Presence!
That might not blow your mind but will blow those of your buddies on the Steam Friends List. Now, everyone can see which part of the comic-book universe are you in at a current moment, and why are you fighting those aliens without them. Balance changes!
We want the game to be fun for everyone, and not feel too long or too short for anyone, so we keep our fingers on the pulse. Some tactics like stacking lots of armors were a bit overpowered, so we're tweaking them, as well as making adjustments to the leveling curve, for the game to feel more rewarding and less grindy.
- Starting weapons are now better, faster, stronger.
- Environmental traps are slower on the first comic-book page.
- Armors are weakened by having fewer defense points. Toss a coin to your armorer~
- Bosses now have less HP across the board. Less bullet-spongy, same unhealthy-deadly.
- More black ink drops from basic enemies, but less for elite, bosses, and from item trades.
- Less ink from the combo multiplier. You're still awarded more of it, but not in an unhealthy way.
And more!
- New skin colors to choose from for both of the default Fury models.
- SteelSeries GameSense support added to make your life more colorful.
- Improvements and corrections to some of the game's language versions.
Also, bugfixes:
- One of the challenges from the Death NPC will no longer occasionally crash the game.
- Descriptions of enchants on weapons should now properly fit the text panel in every language.
- Additional preventions against being locked outside rooms hosting a Sketch Chaos Invasion event.
- The Bat enemy no longer makes ears bleed with how loud it screeches. It screams in pain quietly.
- Other, minor stuff, we've fixed along the way.

It was just a week ago that we've released Fury Unleashed. We've already pushed out a small hotfix for the game, but time's flying fast, and we show no signs of stopping!
Today's patch won't be a big one for everyone, but for some of you - definitely.
Brazilian-Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean translations now available!
We're expanding the range of our localization versions with these three new languages. These language options were planned for the full release at first but didn't make it in time, so we've decided to polish them a bit more and release later. We hope that now even more of our friends from countries like Portugal, Brasil, South Korea, and Japan can enjoy Fury Unleashed to its fullest!
Bugfixes and improvements
We've pushed some urgent fixes and improvements for the game, which includes, but is not limited to:
- In co-op, if both players use controllers, the second gamepad's bindings can be configured independently from the first one.
- Some keyboard detection problems were fixed, both for the single-player and for the second player in co-op mode.
- Killing 3 enemies with a cluster grenade won't trigger the "Nice one" achievement anymore. It's still a nice one, though.
- A fix for the Fury's skin color being reset when switching skins. Wait... what?

Hotfix for update 1.0
In the meantime, we've pushed a small update for 1.0. Nothing to write home about, but be sure that we will do our best to fix any and all problems you might have come upon while playing the game, both on Steam and the console versions!
- Mimics no longer spawn from inappropriate item portals. Ninja Master mimic isn't Real, it can't hurt you... at least not anymore!
- Fixes for the Twitch/Mixer connection system. Also, it now properly disconnects too, sorry about that!
- Stream item portals will spawn items of all rarities. You don't need to worry about too many legendaries now ; )

The time has finally come, and after 5 years of work, we're finally releasing the full version of our labor of love, which is Fury Unleashed. Thank you all for your support over the span of the 3 years-long Early Access period! Both the positive comments and constructive feedback were of irreplaceable help.
But that's it; we're finally here! So, let's jump straight into the good stuff:
Epilogue chapter now available!
The surprise final chapter, we've been working on for around a year now, is finally ready to be played! Explore the mysterious world contained inside the series author's sketchbook. Enjoy the different gameplay than before, with a new way of traversing the level. Many additional difficulties are awaiting those brave enough to face the most unfriendly environment yet. In fact, it's so unfriendly, that at times, you might happen to get stuck in it for a little while (wink, wink). Don't give up your hope, though, as you are very close to becoming THE hero of this hand-drawn universe.
Twitch and Mixer integration!
As a streamer, you are now able to link the game with your favorite service and allow players to vote for what rewards are you getting from in-game portals. There are also additional challenges waiting for those brave enough to put their comic-book life at the stake of violence-hungry viewers! There are also some streaming parameters to be adjusted in the configuration menu, in the game's options. There is also a new option, that we found could prove helpful to streamers; music can be toggled to stay on while the focus is no longer on the game's window. This option is toggled off by default, but when enabled, our OST can now be used as background music on streams... or while cleaning your room?
Three new skins
There are three new skins available. Each of them is unlocked by finishing the game on appropriate difficulty mode. I wonder, how many of you will smile upon seeing the reward for the successful Legendary run :)
New achievements
Speaking of Legendary; there are new achievements available, related both to the new content, as well as additional skill-based ones, for all of the hardcore players to prove they ain't softcore! So, what will you do this fine evening - get a combo of 500, or finish the game on a single combo streak? Decisions, decisions.
Steam Trading Cards
Collectors, rejoice! There are now trading cards, waiting to be dropped by spending some quality time with Fury Unleashed. There is a total of 9 cards, the same number of backgrounds, 5 emoticons, and all those sweet levels of profile badge to get! Don't forget to tell us which one's your favorite!
Lots of smaller changes
We are constantly busy with fixing potential problems, enhancing the experience, and adding balance and QoL changes. Here's today's batch of those:
- We've found full auto-aim option on gamepads to be a little too powerful at times, so we've limited it to Easy mode. Three other versions of aim-assist are still available on every mode.
- New sounds and fixes to mastering issues. Lots of them in fact, both for enemies and male/female versions of Fury. Some screams are simply to die for!
- Exploding barrels and "friendly" grenade boxes now have a new prompt, informing players of additional ways of interaction; barrels can be thrown at enemies, grenade boxes can be broken for bonus ink.
- Small improvements to the tutorial level, both graphically, and in level structure. Feel free to once again learn the ropes of obliterating your foes, if you want to!
- Other minor bug fixes and QoL changes. Don't worry, we've made the game better for you to play, so simply jump right into it and have fun! :)

As you probably already know, the full release is happening in two days, on May 8.
But, before the major update to the game, we've wanted to quickly give you info about some smaller fixes, as well as bring one of our old promises to its fulfillment:
Linux & MacOS support added
Rejoice, users of other systems, as no longer will you be forced to emulate the Fury experience using tools and boot camps. Native Linux and MacOS support is here, and users of those operating systems can download the game straight from their Steam Libraries. We'd love to hear back from you on how are those builds of game faring, and if there are any problems, we'll try to fix them ASAP! We've tried our best to check if everything is working as intended under those environments, but if we've missed something, and Fury suddenly sported a second pair of hands on that one Linux distribution you happen to use, let us know!
Full release coming this Friday!
But before that, there are some additional bugfixes in both this and previously undescribed hotfix. Those are mainly focused on the game's stability, like in-game lags and audio problems, as well as random freezes which should all be hopefully fixed now. Some rare problems like bad spawn locations on bosses and animation errors on the second player in co-op were also fixed. Also, more sounds were added, and some audio mastering issues were fixed. We're making sure things are as polished, as possible in the small timeframe we've got left before the big update on release. Another news is, that the free demo version, called Fury Unleashed: Prologue is available right now. You can go to its Steam page, and download it if you like. Lately, we used the first paragraph to convey the "coming soon" news, without pointing at specific dates. This time, we are ready to announce some concrete things. Let's get ready to... update!
Demo version & full release
This might not be the main point of the patch, but we think it is important enough to post it first. We would like to announce that the demo version of the game named "Fury Unleashed: Prologue" will be available on March 30. If you are interested, you can wishlist the Prologue now, to receive a notification on its release: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1262960 The same day, we will announce the release date, so stay tuned! The prologue will be available on to everyone, who wants to try out the game for free, and it will consist of the first comic, although having some content from the full version cut out. Best thing is that any progress made will automatically transfer to the full version, so there is no reason not to tell your friends to have a try when it becomes available. Don't let your Fury's weapons cool down through, as it's not a bad idea to practice before new content arrives with the full release version.
Equipment rarity & enchantments
Following our players' feedback, we are once again making tweaks in the equipment department. This time, we are introducing a notable difference in item tiers, as well as improving some things. From now on, items you gain are tiered as common, rare, and legen... wait for it... dary! This doesn't always mean that a legendary item will be better than common one in every situation, but it adds a new layer of depth into any playthrough and will help some players decide on which item to choose. Another thing added with this update is weapon enchantments, which are random now, and usually not locked in place with certain tools of destruction. Even though your flamethrower would make the enemies blow up on death and cause collateral damage to their surroundings? Or maybe you thought, that that one railgun didn't have enough "freeze anything its beam touches"? Well, times have changed, and now are the times of acid imbued heavy machine guns. As the items are tiered now, we can further improve upon the rewards system. Normal "blue" item chests will now usually grant players mostly common items, with a chance for a rare one. But the rewards for secret challenges, defeating bosses, and other great feats of strengths, will now be guaranteed to grant players at least a rare, if not legendary item!
Two new skins & more customization
This time, we'll be adding not one, but two new skins! What are their name and background is for you to decide, as you are free to roleplay them in any way. Was the Fury warped into a skeletal cultist, that fights against his new lord's will? Or did our hero just return from a cold-war space exploration mission as a now-immortal astronaut? Our guesses are as good as yours :) You can unlock new skins as a reward for [spoiler]achieving the combos of 100 and 150[/spoiler]. With this update, we are also enabling the custom heads from Steam Workshop to be used with any of the unlocked skins! No longer will you be forced to use your custom-made OC cybernetic ancient demon's head with a body of a mere mortal. Cyber-Ancient-Demon-Furry it is!
New aiming system and animations
For a long time, we were thinking about polishing the visual side of how the character animations on weapon aiming looks and functions. We've decided to change some things, and as of now, if Fury isn't actively shooting at anything, his/hers/its hand will fall into a neutral, resting position. This also makes the weapon's default red laser pointer disappear, until it is needed again to point out doom for the enemies. This one, we'd especially love to hear what are your thoughts about. Those changes may (or may not) affect the way you play on both the keyboard+mouse and on the gamepads. We believe that it makes Fury's movement look more natural and "clean", as the hero isn't constantly targeting everything with murderous intent. Everyone deserves a moment to contemplate from time to time on how nothing in the universe can stop you.
And naturally, there are other minor things, such as:
- Ink collection range was increased by 40%, so you won't have to run for your money (ba dum tss) as much as before.
- Hive Abomination had its health and hitboxes tweaked, not to overstate its welcome.
- In co-op, if one of the player's controllers turns off or is unplugged, turning it back on should associate it with the correct player.
- Optimization - of course, it has further improved, as we strive for more with almost every consecutive update :)
- Bugfixes - of course, there are, but we do try our best for them to be less of (bugs, not fixes) with every next update.

Here we are, at the final lap, so without further ado, let's jump into things coming in this patch.
New boss and a facelift of the old ones
A new boss has been added for the first comic: Corrupted Hive. Its power is reliant on insects that reside inside, but it can also "pack a punch" by itself, or so they say. Some of the other bosses had visual tweaks both to their attacks and their looks. Most importantly, Master of Souls and Priest of Souls both had reworks, so now, their respective fights with Fury look and proceed differently than before. Prepare to be challenged anew! There are more bosses and enemies on the way, but you'll have to fight them on the game's full launch!
Soundtrack released
Our jamming tunes, composed by The Witcher's composers Adam 'Scorpik' Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, are finally available in their full glory! Following the recent changes to how OST sales can work on Steam, it's not a DLC, so even people who don't own the game can buy it. A new skin - Furry
We've heard people misread our game's title as "Furry Unleashed" so many times that it was simply natural for us to embrace the idea. We are open to new ideas, and with that in mind, there was no reason not to include an option tailored for our vulpine friends out there! So, here we are. You've told us that fury isn't the only thing that could be unleashed, and we've listened. Furry skin is unlocked as a reward for [spoiler]achieving a combo of 30[/spoiler]. Just... try not to force us to change the game's title again, please? It would make an awesome April Fool's Day joke, though.
Bloodless mode
There's also something for people who either dislike seeing blood and dismemberments or are would like to play the game while young children are around. We've added Bloodless mode, where there is no presence of red liquids, and enemies "poof!" out of existence, instead of dying graphically. You can activate it at any time in the game's options menu. Do try it at home!
Optimization & fixes
We've spent a countless amount of hours since the last patch, streamlining the data, and optimizing the game. We understand that it isn't something that we can display like fireworks accompanied by orchestral fanfares but believe us. We did a lot of things for the game so that it will run better on low-end machines, and also there should be more than enough memory left for those pesky browser tabs ;) There were also errors waiting to be fixed, so we did just that. Thanks for all the reports! Here's a list of some of the bugfixes:
- Lots of co-op fixes and quality of life (e.g. separate map control), but there's still more to come!
- Weapons no longer tend to stack on each other visually. RIP amalgamations of a rocket launcher and a crossbow.
- Sometimes, sketch event and secret challenge enemies would spawn in different spots than anticipated. Nevermore.
- Ninja quest for melee assassinations now targets enemies that are designed to be cut, sliced, and diced.
- Fast traveling using a mouse click won't accidentally start firing Fury's weapon like it used to.
- Accidental left-stick presses will no longer keep the map open, and also there's a menu option to disable it altogether
- Ultrawide screen resolution are now fully supported
Finally, we have one important announcement for those who haven't decided to buy the game yet, but are following its development: Fury Unleashed's price will be increased on March 2nd. It'll cost 19.99$/19.99 or the corresponding price in case of other currencies - so if you want to get it ahead of the upcoming full release, now is the best time.

As we are tirelessly preparing the final chapter of Fury's journey, we've made sure to bring an update for all of our Early Access players. We hope you are excited to dive into the new stuff and improvements we prepared for everyone!
Weapon unlocks and a new NPC
Enigmatic Mistress of Fate makes her first appearance. Being an entity, that exists between comic and chaos worlds, she can be found in unusual places, communicating with Fury through spirit skulls that surround her. She will provide the hero with sketches, used to unlock new weapons for the player, which can be later found in the world or obtained from other non-playable characters. Completing secret levels will also grant Fury an offer of different rewards to choose from the Mistress herself.
Gunlord's arsenal overhauled
Fury's old friend is back, and you should see him a lot more often. Now Gunlord does not only help with loadout unlocks but also sports an arsenal of guns to sell, that's worthy of his name. Of course, everyone needs a hero, and it will be your job to provide Gunlord with additional tools of destruction, by completing the beforementioned sketches.
Updated handbook & workshop support
An in-game item list was added to the handbook to complement the unlock system. You can now check weapons, garments, and other items, both available in your playthroughs, and those of which you need to unlock by a sketch. Additional love was given to the Steam Workshop system, as from now on, it has a better integration in the hero appearance menu. We are excited to see what new characters will the community make and upload to the workshop!
Optimization, quality of life and eye-candy
As usual, we spent many hours on how the game works, raising the framerate while not decreasing visual or audio quality. In fact, we improved the quality by adding new effects as well as lots of additional detail and eye-candy to the second and third comics. Fast travel system was reworked slightly - you'll spend less time pressing buttons, more time traveling. It needs a second to get used to, but it's worth it! Also, you will always be able to travel to any rooms available while using gamepads, which was previously impossible in certain rare cases. Naturally, that is not everything included in today's update, but here's another glimpse of "everything":
- First batch of fixes for co-op mode. We know that there is a lot of work still to be done for it to work flawlessly, and we are committed to fixing all of the problems in the end.
- Crosshair style and size changes in options while in-game are simultaneously shown in realtime.
- Bunch of improvements on different translations, and a new Chinese font.
- Addition of new secret levels/rooms (and there is still more to come!).
- There is a new logo of our company, so we'll exhibit it seamlessly while the main menu loads.
- So many fixes, we gained a level by just squashing the bugs.
Hey everyone! We've just pushed a minor update and here's what's in it:
- Loading screen tips with new graphics, to make the wait more interesting and informative.
- Fury's model is now better rendered on different resolutions, decreasing its pixelation.
- Sometimes when you quit the game, a new screen reminding about our social media will appear, helping to further build the community. Naturally, it can be effortlessly disabled to never be displayed again, so no worries!
- Some destructible objects stolen by bugs were successfully recovered to be destroyed at will.

We've got another content update for you! Let's jump to the details right away:
New weapons
12 types of tools of destruction are added in todays update. Now you can inspire fear in evildoers by using new attacks, like energy pulses, proton lasers, sticky grenades, soul skulls, freezing beams or even by sending swarms of stinging insects at their faces or those things that they sometimes have in place of the face.
Chaos Chests
Another powerful creature lured its ugly (but well-drawn!) head from the depths of Chaos. It is capable of controlling surrounding enemies, empowering them and even making them immortal as long as it exists. But there is no need to panic, as it isn't invincible and can be brought down by Fury, earning a chest with helpful loot for our hero. Just mind all the bullets flying around!
Optimization and loading changes
Weve done a ton of optimizations to the game, including a change to how levels are loaded. Previously, the levels would load in the background, while you were already playing, which occasionally caused hiccups in performance, especially on slower machines. Now, weve added a bit of loading time between the chapters, but when you actually start playing, the game will be as smooth as possible from the very first frame. But that's not all. List of changes also includes (but is not limited to):
- Lots of eye-candy, such as vegetation and other objects, that reacts to player movement, bullets or explosions.
- Boss progress reports, showing how many more you have to defeat to permanently unlock starting the game from subsequent episodes
- Lots of new sounds, from ink collecting clinks to enemy flesh being ripped out
- Visual loading screens for comic pages, frame by frame
- Another batch of freshly picked new levels / rooms
- Usual extermination of found bugs
Hi again! The last update brought a lot of new features... as well as some bugs, which we're targetting now:
- Critical hits should again work as intended (thanks Nikola for reporting it!)
- Skill display at the end of a page on Incredible Mode is incredible now instead of bugged
- Sniper Soldier regained his sight and now shoots Fury on... sight (thanks Sherif!)
- War Mech boss won't spawn an unlimited amount of projectiles ever again (thanks qaser7!)
- Quest timer now stops on sketch events, boss fights etc.
- Other small bugfixes
- Improved display of information about fast travel on the map screen
- You now choose to play single-player or co-op directly from the main menu
- Minor tweaks to tutorial level. Sawblades should be much easier to air-dash through

Todays update brings lots of new things bigger and smaller, as well as many bug fixes and quality of life changes:
Sketch events
Furys world becomes even more unstable. From time to time, as you play, you will encounter strange events, which makes the whole comic frame you are in lose colors. Chaos invades the world, and you are forced to fight against it to return it to how it supposed to be or is it?
Weapon switching
Now you can hold two sets of weapons (thanks to cylervan for the suggestion) and switch between them wherever you want by using the corresponding button (by default: C on keyboard, right thumbstick press on gamepad)! No longer will you be forced to use one tool for every situation, as you might want to burn some enemies with a flamethrower and pierce others with laser beams.
Better movement
Furys got new dance moves. Jokes aside, controlling your character feels better than ever with improvements to how he/she snaps to and vault over terrain obstacles. Leave your double jump to when it is needed to crush, kill, and destroy.
New skill tree
Many improvements come to the way how you customize your character. The whole skill tree is now on a single page, branching into three paths in which you can freely upgrade (and downgrade, restoring spent points) your hero to your liking. There are also new skills available, like Stomp Shockwave, Temporary Invulnerability, and Superpower Shield.
Other than that, there are lots of smaller changes and fixes, as in:
- New levels / room configurations and a new type of secret rooms, where you fight waves of enemies (thanks Nikola for the suggestion)
- Better audio - new effects and ambient sounds
- The map stays open when accessed by quick tapping the corresponding button
- Proper loading screen was added
- Change in the naming of difficulty levels ("Normal" is now "Hard")
- Balance and visual improvements
- Total annihilation of reported bugs

For a long time now, youve only had a few classic guns at your disposal. With todays update, were tripling the number of firearms youll find throughout the comic books! The list includes:
- Flamethrowers
- Lasers
- Grenade Launchers
- Crossbows
- Railguns
- Dark Energy Guns
- Blasters
- Impulse Guns
- Acidthrowers
- Plasma Guns
- Alien Rocket Launchers
- Sawblade Launchers
- Alien Shard Launchers
- Nailguns
They are all available for you to find right now, but in the next update well introduce a system of unlocks, and itll require a bit of effort to get them. So this is the best time to lay your hands on those weapons!
We would also like to introduce two new fellas Ninja and The Devil. They may not sound like they belong in the same universe, but as worthy NPCs, they will surely become a beloved part of Fury Unleasheds world.
The Devil is actually quite a mischievous character he would never disregard a good, fresh soul. And selling yours to him doesnt necessarily have to be a bad idea. The transaction will reduce some of your maximum HP, but it will reward you with quite a few neat gameplay bonuses. So if youve mastered your dodging skills and dont need too much HP, you really should consider doing a deal!
Also, if you enjoy an occasional spot of blade-based slaughter, theres Ninja, who will be happy to send you on several quests and reward you for killing enemies just with your melee weapon. So better start sharpening your stabbing tools!
Okay, so finally the part with major updates is behind us. Time for the minor, yet still interesting ones. Here we go:
- From now on, the Commander X NPC will provide you with more quests, which you will perform on an entire page of the comic book;
- The process of gaining a combo shield by a player now has its own visual effect;
- More visual improvements to the first and second comics;
- Bug fixes and game-balance changes.

And based on exactly that your feedback, weve been working hard to update the look of our game and can now finally share the results. So, the next time you launch Steam, download the update and start the game; youll notice:

Hello Heroes!
We have quite a piece for you today. But before we begin, please meet your new companion Mr. Doodle. Starting today, he will assist you as a guide through the world of Fury Unleashed.
Mr. Doodle will tell you the entire enigmatic story that fills the pages of our comic book. He will be providing narration, leading you through all the blood-curdling battles and struggles. Dont get us wrong, he wont help you dispatch any monsters on the way absolutely not. He just does the talking.
Our pal will introduce you to the stories in the three available comics, and when its time to leave Early Access, each story will come to an end with the addition of Epilogue World, which takes place in the sketchbook. Believe us when we tell you: its worth the wait!
As usual, we have even more for you today. We really enjoy treating you to new functionalities and seeing you all having fun learning new possibilities and discovering how to beat completely fresh obstacles and opponents. So how about adding a bunch once again?
Here are the details:
- The new NPC The Order of Eternal Ink, where you can get a blessing for a small fee;
- New traps that occur at dark stages;
- The possibility to further adjust the Easy difficulty level during the game through an option in the pause menu;
- Improved sounds related to your activity in the game (shots, melee attacks, jumps, etc.);
- And as usual, bug fixes and performance optimizations.

It's been over a month since the previous update you've probably collected enough ink to print the entire LOTR novel series ... or an encyclopedia.
Oh, speaking of encyclopedias, we wanted to let you know that weve added one to our game! So far it contains only bosses, minibosses and enemies youve already encountered in the game, but the following update will also include items that you have stumbled upon. From now on, you will know everything about the world of Fury Unleashed and not miss anything. It's good to have things under control, right? Except the fury, of course!
But you know how it is the tide of fury never does just one thing at a time. So of course we have more than just this one new addition in store for you today.
Whats new then? Lets get down to business:
New soundtrack composed by the duo Skorupa and Wierzynkiewicz that will make your time spent digging into the main menu more enjoyable. There's also a new track that will be played in-game when you score a furious combo.
New NPC Gunlord, who will allow you to unlock new initial weapons.
Three brand new (we would say shiny, but not really) enemies for the first comic.
Modified customization panel and new alternative hero heads.
Various minor improvements and bug fixes.

Remember us promising that after Gamescom and some initial testing wed make co-op available sometime in fall? Well, were happy to announce that the time is now, and local co-op mode has just been added to our game! So what are you waiting for? Download the update, call your fam, grab some snacks and drinks, find a couch to chill on, and show your enemies that you and your friend are an unstoppable duo!
What? Still reading? Hoping we have something else up our sleeves? Well, seems you know us all too well. Youre right, co-op mode isnt the only add-on in this update. Heres a list of other changes you can expect:
- Secret locations to be discovered in random places in the game world
- Special golden ink you can get by killing enemies or being a Destructive Fury on a level. You can spend the ink on additional equipment to help you to progress through the game
- Elite enemies not as strong as bosses, but more demanding than regular opponents adding additional challenges to your playthrough
- New NPCs you can meet and interact with on your way through the comic books
- New tunes for the third comic book composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz
- As usual, some minor bugs were killed and some fixes were implemented
We dont often post updates here, but when we do, we make sure they are worth your time. And today youll need quite a lot of it to dig in and go through all weve prepared for you. First things first, however, lets start with the most important piece of news for today, meaning the release date and the games title change. Yup, youve got that right. The Badass Hero is no more. Please meet Fury Unleashed, that will come to your PCs, PS4s, Xbox Ones, and Nintendo Switches in early 2019!
Now trust us when we tell you that changing the games title after weve already made it available in Steam Early Access was not an easy decision to make. Nevertheless, it had to be made after we heard many times that its causing unnecessary controversy and is a turn off for people who otherwise might have been interested in it. Furthermore, after months of development The Badass Heros art style changed so massively, that reflecting that change with a new name was a good idea to disconnect it from the first screenshots and trailers that were released in 2016. Last, but not least, weve experienced significant difficulties promoting the game due to some social medias profanity filters. However, one thing that hasn't changed is the skill-based, action-packed gameplay with a combo system that will reward you for playing like a badass.
Okay, okay, the title changed, noted, what about the local co-op feature? When will it become available? Well be running some tests during this years Gamescom, and if all goes well, we should be able to let you experience some epic boss fights hand in hand with your best buddy sometime around fall this year. Keep an eye out for a more precise date that well be posting in the next updates here!

You asked for it, we promised to deliver, and here it is! From now on you can play not only as a badass looking male character but also a female one. And trust us when we tell you, the girls in our game are equally as capable of kicking alien butts as the guys. If not more. It took them a while to join the fight, so now they are all pumped, ready, and impatient for some serious action. Dont take our word for it though, look at the ladies below and youll discover that fight like a girl just got a whole new meaning.
But its not the only good news we have for you today! Fighting bad guys is fun but doing so while listening to an awesome music score is a real treat. Especially if the composers behind the tune are no other than Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz themselves! Does The Witcher soundtrack ring a bell? Shadow Warrior 2 maybe? Bulletstorm? Yep, thats those guys, and were thrilled to have them working on The Badass Hero track. For now, you can listen to their music in the first comic book but dont worry, more is coming.
We've also made several balance changes, including much requested built-in Fast Travel and Combo Shields (especially important in New Game+ modes), as well as significant optimization improvements and regular bug fixes.

You already met the Hive Queen. Now its time for two new main bosses, and they are real badasses too!
1. Invasion Commander
Just when you think you've figured out his tactics he surprises you with new ones. Dont underestimate this master of strategy itll cost you your life!
2. Destroyer of Cities
The lord of lasers and fireballs. Try to avoid his unpredictable laser gun and dont get caught by the endless stream of plasma balls firing from his metal forceps.
We also want as much feedback as you can give us, so we set up a Discord server for our game find the link in-game and let us know what youd like to see added to the game.
In the newest update, youll also find some sweet comic book add-ons after all, the comic book aesthetic is really important in Badass Hero.
And thats not to forget some bugfixes and localization improvements.

This monstrosity spits deadly venom and creates toxic puddles to eliminate you. Do not underestimate him.
2. Hive Abomination
Stay alert! You never know where the next projectile will come from.
3. Core Chamber
Kill it or be sliced into many pieces!
Now, these kinds of opponent require some new weapons and traps to unleash hell upon them No worries, were prepared. From now on in The Last Stand of Earth, youll find barrels you can grab and throw at your enemies. Theyll explode and freeze all the bad guys near them.
As for the guns there can never be too many! Thanks to this update youll be able to use dual-wielding guns, like SMGs or revolvers.
We hope this will prepare you for new, challenging tasks and help you save planet Earth.

Hive Guardian a flying unit, it may resemble a hybrid of Earths bees and moths. Spits deadly projectiles of unknown origin. Very dangerous.
Combat Fighter a disk-shaped aerial unit, last seen in Roswell, 1947. Armed with a powerful laser, as well as several cannons. Avoid direct confrontation.
Assault Commander another flight-capable enemy, the last of the three miniboss-level ranked units. Moves in an irregular, unpredictable pattern. Shoots blue-colored projectiles from its four powerful cannons. Approach with extreme caution.
2. Infantry/Common rank
Two new, never before seen bio-engineered aliens beware of their stealthy attacks. They scatter their pathogens and cause excruciating damage, which is likely to be lethal.

A new kind of energy-based trap system has also been observed. When you spot these, be agile and act fast.
