[ 2021-05-28 20:22:41 CET ] [ Original post ]
This patch fixes a rare crash when scanning planets or anomalies, makes it a bit safer to do some quests for races relation wise, adds some diplomatic immunity to diplomat ships, makes race traits impact relation changes and treaties more, and fixes several more minor issues. 0.901 change list:
- fixed a crash if try to spawn a technology and didn't actually find a valid one within number of specified tries (PhoAgne)
- now doing quests that help an entire system but are for an enemy have only 25% as much relation penalty as before (Kurama Kitsune)
- now resources that give race ships a status effect, they give that effect immediately and end when they run out instead of being permanent but only on ships build while having the resource (new way should be a much more consistent boost)
- now diplomat ships have diplomatic immunity from other races until relation is really low (5)
- now get a larger relation boost when giving contacts to xenophile races
- now get a larger relation boost giving or trading tech to tech races
- now get a larger relation boost giving planet data to expansionist races
- now get a larger relation boost when giving gifts to economist and gift races
- now races with ruthless trait are less likely to accept a vassal, tributary, or protectorate
- now races with demanding trait are more likely to accept a vassal or tributary
- now races with economist trait are more likely to accept a tributary
- now races with trustworthy trait are more likely to accept a protectorate
- now races with defensive trait are more likely to accept a protectorate
- now races with generous trait are more likely to accept a protectorate
- rebel quest ships can no longer be attacked or damaged
- increased start alliance guild reward from 6.0 to 9.0
- increased credits and xp reward for most drox guild quests (Darke)
- now doing terraform quests will make enemies of that race mad
- nexuses can no longer be boarded by marines (phoagne)
- your average spy level of a race now decreases the costs of using jump gates
- fixed vassal/tributary not contributing credits to overlord correctly
- now player gets credits from vassals and tributaries (Exgene)
- now if you are a protectorate overlord you get planet location easier (Darke)
- now ships from random races with stealth trait actually use stealth
- now when getting planet data from a specific race's perspective take into account their production bonuses
- fixed trying to updateResearchGoal when none left - sped up test from ~160 to 220 fps (PhoAgne)

- fixed getting gate unlocks in multiplayer when going to a new sector (phoagne)

- Drox Operative 2 Linux Specific [12.77 M]
Drox Operative 2 is a starship action RPG with warring alien races, fierce space battles, a dynamic, evolving galaxy, and co-op multiplayer for Windows and Linux.
Eons ago the Drox crushed and enslaved the ancient races and ruled the galaxy through their mighty Operatives. These elite starship captains were trained to accomplish the impossible at whatever cost. Whether employing stealth or brute force, they were always deadly. Using these Operatives, the Drox ruled the galaxy with an iron grip for over 100,000 years. Eventually realizing their Operatives were a threat, they attempted to assassinate all of them. They failed. The following Galactic Civil War was so devastating that the Drox are now extinct. The Drox Operative guild, now fully independent, survived.
Newer races emerged and thrived in the power void ... for a while. Then the ancients returned. The wars were devastating, but with the Drox Operatives on their side, the ancients were beaten back and a truce was established.
Since the devastation, a 4th wave of sentient races are emerging in the galaxy. Unlike previous waves, there are thousands in this one and no one knows anything about them. In the new space race, the ancient, mature, and young races are all scouting, colonizing, and expanding, trying to take over the galaxy through diplomacy, technology, war, and any other means necessary.
As a Drox Operative it's NOT your job to manage an empire, you are after all the captain of a single starship. It IS your job to pick the winning side and maybe even help them conquer the galaxy if you're being nice, more importantly though is to rake in as many credits as possible, well that and build the deadliest ship in the known universe. Who will you back as an Operative? The ancient, mature, or young races? The pacifist or militaristic races? The xenophile or xenophobe races? The races that value freedom or the races that use slave labor? The strong or the weak? Your actions and inactions will impact trillions of alien lives!
