The second episode contains: - 3788 renders; and many of them are of really high quality if I can say that. - 95 animated scenes. Now we have some truly good animations, theres even a video consisting of 700 frames. - 116, 890 words. For comparison, the first episode includes: - 2754 renders. - 48 animations (5 we added recently). - 121,819 words. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1797300/Voids_Calling_ep_2/
Fixed English localization issues. (Primarily the export menu)
We've recently published instructions on how to export the progress from the first episode.
In the discussion, we were made aware of certain problems. Indeed, a part of the translation didn't work and you couldn't see the options.
Now everything has been fixed. We don't have enough English testers, and we didn't notice this problem ourselves. If there are any other problems, please inform us.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
To export your saves to the second episode of the game, you must perform the following steps: 1) Open your save made before the finale of the first episode in Void's Calling ep.1. The game will suggest export of your save file. 2) You should click on "Yes, export the game" 3) After that, you need to choose "Import saves" when starting a new game in the second episode. The game will ask you whether you want to start the game with "default" amount of money or keep your savings from the first episode; it's entirely up to you but if you're interested in gameplay, we suggest you choose the "default" amount of money. We also want you to keep in mind that due to some balance changes made to consumables and armour, you can't export those. If you don't have any saves from the first episode, it's also not a problem. The game will give you an option to go through all the important choices of the first episode. Enjoy the game. P.S. Many complained that Discord is inconvenient to use; not everyone wants to go through the process of registration. We've created a website for you. It's nothing big, and we might add some more features to it later on if such need arises: https://novel-games.com/ You can also leave your feedback there via the contact form.
New animations. This minor update adds several new animations into the game. We have hired a new person who is solely focused on creating animations for the game. He also created some animations for the first episode since many people complained about not having enough of them. More animations will be added into the second episode as well. If you have already played the game, there is no point in replaying it. If you haven't played it yet, this will be a nice bonus. If you find any errors related to the update, please report it in the appropriate thread, we will promptly fix it. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1212020/discussions/0/2298472007793230265/ Thank you all for your interest in our work.
Hello everyone. For many of you this is probably a highly anticipated news post, but Id say my teams anticipation was a bit higher because the game release is primarily a big celebration for the developer, not the player. However, it should be noted that if the product is not to the players liking, the celebration wont last long. Either way, once the game is released, we can all let out a sigh of relief and relax for a moment. It brings me joy to realize that will happen during the New Year holidays. The release date hasnt been set in stone yet but most likely itll be the end of November. The closest approximate release date for us is 18.11.2021. Its due to Steam rules, theres no chance the game will come out sooner than that. Most likely, well release it a little bit later. VC 2 will be released as an Early Access game. Weve said a lot of times that if we cant implement in time everything weve planned, its best we release the game like this. Well, guess well see how our community reacts to this decision. We plan to release the full episode in the next big update. However, we may split that update in two parts. Main changes in comparison with the first episode: - In terms of visuals, the number of renders per one scene has increased. It boosts the visual representation of the game as well as dynamics of scenes. No one likes reading tons of text when the picture on the screen remains the same. - Game interface has undergone big changes, both in terms of visuals and code. - We hired an animator to our team; the number of animations and their quality has been significantly improved. A few test animations were also added to the first episode of the game. - Weve also hired one more writer who helped us better refine the main story line. - The new combat system. Its become deeper with some tactical element to it; but it still needs balancing, small new features and creatures to fight. Some mechanics were delayed, such as perks system and enhancements. Whyd it took us so long to make this update This is our fault, though Id say its mostly my fault, the one who writes this post. This happened because of many mistakes made during management and irrational allocation of resources and time of my team. Before the release of the first episode, I didnt really believe in success. We tried to advertise the game on another platform, and no one was really interested in it. Once we released it on Steam and people there liked it, the success kind of clouded my mind. I thought that with money we can finally do everything Ive wanted. I thought it was time to expand, get better and so on. I think that I just said the same story of roughly 99 % of teams out there whore busy making games (and not just them). However, everythings not as easy as it seems at first sight. Like I said before, a lot of time has been wasted in vain. Of course, the game development process has also been affected by a well-known disease, but it wasnt that critical. Overall, we lost one month because of it. However, where there are cons, there are always pros. Ive already described two pros earlier. Weve found two new people for our team and so far, theyve been a great help to us. The pain of getting bigger is a common phenomenon. And who knows, we might make the same mistake again in the future. Thats just how human mind works. Either way, I humbly apologize for this delay personally and on behalf of our whole team. Regarding the early access. So far, weve been able to implement around 70-80 % of planned content. Theres one big event at the beginning of the game which well keep working on after the release and trust me, theres plenty work there; It has many small side events. The main story isnt 100 % finished yet, but were getting there. Wed like to add as many mini events as possible, but we need to remember that were limited in time, besides Id rather not turn the game into a series of small events. Thats it for now, the game release will happen soon. Those whore interested, give it a try. Even though Id like to see money from sales, I suggest you wait for the final version of the game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1797300/Voids_Calling_ep_2/?beta=1
We do not publish news often, primarily because on Steam we want to talk more about facts than about plans. News can be more seen on our discord server or on our page. If you wish, you can enter the name of the game into a search engine and find it all easily (Or you can find it in our Steam group.). This may be useful for those who have our games on Steam blocked due to their country of residence. We are now preparing an important third update for the second episode of the game, in which we will finally introduce all the planned mechanics. After that there will be a big post with news, but for now you can ask any questions you want in this thread and we will answer them if possible.
Weve recently finished working on a big part of the second episode and now were ready to give you some information about our plans and progress so far.
The second episode is around 50 % completed (it has 53k words now plus 10-12k that havent been added into the game yet). Weve been focused on the main story, so now well shift our focus to side quests and game mechanics.
The battle system is partially ready but hasnt been added to the game yet. Itll undergo big changes. However, our UI designer hasnt finished his part of the work and left, thus were forced to look for a new one.
There was a moment when the progress of the update was quite slow. There were some problems on our part and also the global pandemic (most of us had COVID-19).
Well, we have some good news as well. One of our biggest problems was the script, to be precise, our main writer has a regular job and he simply couldnt keep up with us. Luckily, weve found one more writer and shes been doing a great job so far.
We wont make any announcement about the second episodes release date because theres still a lot of work to do even though the hardest part is behind us. We know what story we want to tell in the second episode (the script isnt quite finished though) and we know how exactly we want to end this part of the game. All we have to do now is fill it with content and different game mechanics.
Well focus on deadlines weve set for ourselves, which is the end of autumn. If we feel the need to move the deadline, well make sure to let you know. Its definitely possible we do that; however, wed like to release the rest of the episode as soon as possible. Our income depends on that.
1) UI changes 2) Small bug fixes 3) Minor fixes in English localization
The first episode of our game came out on 29 May 2020. A lot of time has passed since then and weve decided it was time to share some news about the updates making process.
Maybe we should have done that way earlier, but I wanted to be super sure about what changes the second episode will get. Were currently working on making new content and editing the technical part of the game. Your feedback helped us a lot, thank you all for your reviews, both positive and negatives. This all helps us grow as developers. However, I think its time we get specific.
Combat system will get a huge overhaul. Many of you told us that the combat system wasnt satisfying, that the game would be better off without it. Theres a grain of truth in these words, the combat system was indeed too simple and sort of boring. Well try to fix that by making the system deeper, adding a tactical aspect to the fight while making the fights less frequent. Those of you who played our first game know that it was visual novel. We dont have that much experience with creating a game with RPG elements, but we like it and well try to get better. Hopefully, we can make the combat system more engaging and interesting.
The UI will also be changed. The UI is mostly the main reason why I avoided making any news posts. To the very last moment I hoped to demonstrate all the planned changes, but sadly the new combat UI wont be drawn any time soon, not till next year. However, I can already show you how the trade UI will look like:
The main menu screen will be changed too, including the main menu of the first episode. Weve fixed some small bugs, typos, UI fixes, and now were testing it all.
The music will be changed as well. We have a few written tracks on our hands that, in our opinion, are more fitting for the game. We could use more of them, but the girl whos writing these songs takes her time to do it. However, we love the final product.
I cant give you any estimate of the second episodes release date. On one hand, the money we got from sales allowed us to buy new hardware which in turn allowed us to increase the pace of work, but on the other hand, the second episode is just technically way harder than the first one. Were now devoting more time to script and staging the scenes.
With all that in mind, I must ask you not to expect much of us. Were only learning to make good games and I hope you can help us with this demanding task. Wed like to release the episode sometime in autumn of 2021. However, keep in mind that its not an announcement of release date, its just the time wed like to finish working on the update.
Respectfully,
Novel.

However, at one point he stumbles upon a small town called Krazengoph while following the call of Void, that place turns out to be a real test to the hunter's abilites since Void has already wormed its way into the citizens' souls and poisons them, effect similar to post-mortem poison.
To find a sorcerer who broke the law in the town, citizens of which are slowly but steadily losing their minds and are falling into the cesspool of madness and lust, isn't going to be an easy thing to do. Will the Pure One be able to cope with it alone or should he look for a help from one of the town's citizens? Not matter what turn these events might take, there's one thing to be sure of. Forlan will never be the same after visiting this town, Krazengoph...
