From AI Upgrades to Campaign Remakes, Heres Whats Coming Soon!

Hello again everyone,


Summertime is here, and we have quite the big summer planned for Easy Red 2! Well touch briefly on our most immediate plans, starting with last weeks changelog from April 30th.

Added Features:


  • Early War Fallschirmjger squad for Kos.
  • Added a new early model FG-42 the FG-42/I for early war scenarios.
  • Reworked US helmets and added new variants.
  • Added new US vest types.
  • Added new US winter uniforms and reworked old coats.
  • Added many new Fallschirmjger uniforms with various variants based on location (Mediterranean, Africa, Europe).
  • Reworked many Pacific palm trees and added destroyed variants.
  • Added a few new vehicle variants.
  • Added many new map editor props, including multiple new Japanese bunkers, cattle wire fences, and wooden cattle fences.
  • Added new grass and terrain textures.
  • Added new Japanese voice lines.
  • Added a new ground tessellation setting for more detailed terrain.
  • Reworked Thompson animations.
  • Various UI element reworks.
  • Added a new map editor tool to change North direction and solar elevation angle.
  • Reworked German optics and added the iconic Zf. 39 scope.

Fixes/Improvements:


  • Fixes to the ticket system in multiplayer.
  • Improved existing grass and terrain textures.
  • Balance changes to the Sihang Warehouse Defense mission for attackers.
  • Improved mission editor UI.
  • Improved various existing maps, particularly Kos, France 1940, and Tunisia with new props, better terrain, and enhanced visual detail.
  • Rebalanced many missions in Kos, France 1940, and Tunisia, including new vehicles such as the P-40 Warhawk in Tunisia and the Panzer I in France. Objectives were expanded, and unit spawns made more dynamic and balanced.
  • Fixed Lanchester animations.
  • Fixed rigging issues.
  • Fixed various squad configurations.
  • Improved rain visuals.
  • Minor performance optimizations.

So Whats Next?


The A.I.


If theres one thing the community has been vocal about, its improving infantry A.I. intelligence. Thats now a major focus. Plans include making A.I. move more tactically, spread out to avoid conga-lines, perform better in close quarters, and react faster overall.
Small improvements are already being tested in the public beta, with more on the way!

Map + Mission News


Pacific Overhaul: Kwajalein and Roi-Namur Remakes


Weve been calling Kwajalein and Roi-Namur reworks, but honestly, theyre complete remakes. That means new maps, new missions, new vehicles, new squads, new uniforms and vests, new buildingsyou name it. These maps will be scaled more accurately and resemble historical imagery far more closely. Map teaser images will be shared sooncatch them first in our official community Discord! Expect a release in early to mid-summer this year. Here are some screenshots of the LVT vehicles being made for the updatefind even more in our Discord!

Makin Rework


Makin was voted the least favorite map in our 2025 Future Campaign polland its not hard to see why. Its one of the weaker maps in the base game. Thats why its also being reworked alongside Kwajalein and Roi-Namur. While it wont be a totally new map like the others, its undergoing significant changes to make it more faithful to the real-world location. Teasers coming soonagain, first in our Discord. All three maps will likely release together as a full Pacific overhaul.

Anzio Remake


AnzioER2s first campaignis also getting a full remake. Its being split into two new maps: Anzio and Cassino. Dont worrythere will be more missions overall than in the current version. The new Anzio map will take players from the shores of Nettuno to the inland towns of Cisterna and Aprilia, covering Mediterranean winter farmlands and forests. Cassino will feature not only Monte Cassino and the town itself, but also the Gustav Line, nearby mountain ranges, and river battles. You can expect this remake and the new Cassino campaign by late summer or early fall.

Unannounced Campaign Rework


One more campaign is getting a full reworkincluding new map additions, enhanced visuals, updated missions, improved squads and vehicles, and three entirely new missions. Coming out in June. Can you guess which campaign it is? Youll hear about it first in the Discord in the coming weeks!

Easy Red 2 is the game for who knows what he wants from a World War 2 Game: Simulation in weapons and movements, historical accuracy in battles, huge maps with a lot of deployed units, vehicles dominating the battlefields and a realistic combat approach.

In this new version of Easy red we wrote everything from scratch to reach quality in game mechanics, and optimization to manage a new great looking design running even on low end machines.
And we are taking you in Italy, from the shores of Anzio, to the bombed peaks of Montecassino, and in Japan in the middle of the Battle for Kwajalein.
And we are ready to add more battles in the future.


  • Simulation and immersivity
    That's what we want for Easy Red 2. We try to let the player feel all the emotions that soldiers live in the confusion and adrenaline of a battlefield. Explosions, devastation, orders, shot fires will be all around the player, that will be rewarded by the game not for his number of kills, but for his strategic and survival skills.

  • Large battles and historical locations
    All campaign will take place in large Open-World maps that reproduces the real places of the fights, and battles plans are faithful to the events that have historically occurred. However, the player won't only be challenged from surviving the fighting, but could have to follow definite orders that could change the sort of the entire mission.

  • Squad based gameplay
    No one can go to war alone; A good tactic require a good team work.
    So be the squad leader, or the medic, or maybe the radioman: You will always have a job to do inside your squad.
    We especially focused on creating sub-objectives that differs from main mission objectives. While the main objective of a team may be to have to conquer a specific area, a sub-objective could be assigned following the radio requests of a tank to clear its way from an anti-tank gun that has been sighted. So gameplay has radically improved in a more realistic and dynamic way.

  • Vehicles
    War machines have changed the war forever, and World War 2 proved that in an unequivocal way, so Prepare to jump in you Panzer 4, Sherman, M3 lee, or any tank that dominated the real battles fought in the game.
    We decided to let the player have a full control of the crew of the vehicles; He will be able to drive and shoot tanks, as long as there are crew members on the seats to use each armament. Also battles doesn't stop when a tank is disabled. Lot of tank crews in World War 2 had time to escape from unusable tanks and survive the battles, and so it will in Easy Red 2: If you lost your tank in a fight you will need to bring safely your crew back to your lines.

  • Devastation
    Explosions, will destroy sandbags, walls, fences, vehicles, defenses, and the battlefield could radically change during all the fight.
    Also, enemy fire will constantly suppress you and your squad. Learn how to move safely in a real combat scenario, and keep your helmet on your head.

  • Optimizations
    We want a smooth war simulation, so we designed our own graphic style to bring great animations, textures and effects, with the compromise of having a high and stable Frame-Rate. This means that many more units and vehicles will be able to appear on the screen, contributing to the immersion of the fight.
