New Roadmap!
We just released our newest roadmap today. Within the roadmap we explain all the biggest features we will attempt to work on in the future months. As always, every future update will also contain a good dose of smaller new features and improvements. You can see the full roadmap post here!
Other recently released features
We released a lot of stuff during Septembe, like a new AI system for Self propelled artilleries, many new vehicles, new animations and various gameplay changes. We didn't have the time to properly discuss them within Steam posts, but you can read trough all the changes recently released in our changelogs post.
New destructible tank tracks system
We've made significant changes on the vehicle damage system in order to push it toward a better simulation. Tank tracks and vehicle wheels can now easily be damaged by smaller calibers, making AT guns more useful. Damaged tracks and wheels will show a visual effect and will prevent vehicles from moving until a member of the vehicle crew will exit and repair the part. This little clip shows an example of the system: [previewyoutube=_9cRydclt8k;full][/previewyoutube]
Tunisia and the Second Sino-Japanese War
We are showing some news about the upcoming campaings in the roadmap post. As explained, we will start tetsing Tunisia Part 1 (North) within the next couple weeks in public BETA.
Playstation release & Console Updates
All the changes up to this update are now being delivered to Xbox and Nintendo to wait for their approval which as usual should take around 10-15 days. Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 version of the game is proceeding development steadly.

Greetings, soldiers of Easy Red 2!
Were excited to share our new roadmap, laying out the path ahead for Easy Red 2 from late 2024 to mid-2025. We're working hard to make the game bigger and better than ever, with new systems, features, and content to look forward to. Here's a glimpse at what's coming:
Major New Features
- New Body & Face Mesh System: We're bringing in more realistic body proportions and facial animations, including eye blinking! New skin effects and improved faces are coming in future updates too.
- Enhanced Sound System for autmatic weapons: Expect a significant overhaul of automatic weapon sounds, covering everything from SMGs to turrets and plane MGs. This new sound system will create a much more immersive experience.
- Vehicle Destructibility: With destructible static vehicles already in, were adding destructible tank tracks and wheels next. This will include new effects for destroyed tank tracks, and make anti-tank rifles more useful in battle.
- Crouching in Open-Top Vehicles: To help protect from enemy fire, you'll soon be able to crouch inside open-top vehicles like the LCVP or when using mounted MGs.
- Modding Scripting Support: We'll try to expand modding capabilities by adding scripting options. This will eventually allow scripting for AI behavior and mission creation!
- PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 Releases: Console players, we're coming your way soon!
- Kwajalein & Anzio Campaign Reworks: Well be upgrading both these campaigns to bring them in line with the latest Easy Red 2 content quality.
- Constant Free Content: More vehicles, weapons, uniforms, buildings, and props! While its tough to predict every addition, upcoming campaigns like Tunisia and the Sino-Japanese War will bring loads of exciting new content.
- Nintendo Switch & Xbox: As always we'll keep releasing every update on all systems!
Major Improvements
- Vehicle Animation Reworks: We're revamping animations for characters in vehicles to make them more natural and fluid.
- Vehicle Model Updates: Many older vehicle models are being upgraded to match the quality of our latest creations.
- Sound Overhauls: Expect enhanced audio quality across the board, from weapons to environmental sounds.
- Menu & UI Improvements: The mission selection and loading screens will be reworked for a cleaner and more consistent experience. Were also adding small UI features to improve overall usability.
- AI Enhancements: We've made great strides in AI this year, but there's still room for improvement. Expect more updates to make battles feel even more realistic.
- Uniform Updates: Were continuing to refine the look of uniforms. As you know British uniforms have been reworked recently, and next up are the German ones.
- Gore System Improvements: We know many of you have requested improvements to the gore system. Were experimenting with new ways to implement this.
Upcoming Campaigns
Tunisia Campaign
We decided that Tunisia will be split into two maps: North and South. We figured it would be best this way as to include many important locations from the campaign without squeezing them too close together in proximity. From the lush open fields of the North to the arid landscapes of the middle and down to the bone-dry South, Tunisia features a wide variety of scenery, maybe some totally different than what you think of when you think of the North African campaign in the Second World War. The first map for the Tunisian campaign, the North, is nearing completion and the missions will going into development shortly! We can hope to have some missions coming into the PC public BETA around the first half of October. Some key locations will be Tunis, Bizerte, Mateur, Enfidaville, Longstop Hill, Zaghouan and multiple more. At the moment, based on the missions planned there will be at least 16 new missions added to the base game Easy Red 2 with the Northern Tunisia campaign alone! New props, vehicles, uniforms, and a new factionNew Zealandare all coming with this campaign.
Sino-Japanese War DLC
This massive DLC will include far more content than originally planned, with two major campaigns: the 1937 battles of Shanghai and Nanjing. Expect a huge array of new buildings, props, uniforms, and unique weapons like the Type 11 LMG, complete with a complex reload system. Check out a sneak peek of the Type 11 LMG system we are working on: [previewyoutube=pWooDerzKTU;full][/previewyoutube] Note: This is a concept preview in a testing scene, and it's nothing like the final product.
A Note from the Team
This roadmap only outlines the major features and changes coming in the next several months. As always, we'll be working on smaller updates, bug fixes, and polishing regularlyjust like we have for the past four years with near-weekly updates. You can view our full history of changelogs here. We owe our continued success to you, our dedicated community. Your feedback and suggestions have been invaluable, and your enthusiasm for Easy Red 2 motivates us to keep pushing the game forward. Thank you for spreading the word and being part of this journey. We keep improving all features of the base game and as always we will be going on listening to suggestions from people inside the Steam Discussions and the Discord server. Stay tuned, and see you on the battlefield! Marco and the Easy Red 2 Team

New vehicle damage systems
We've made significant changes to how vehicles function in the game. First, static vehicles can now take damage until they are completely destroyed. Some of these vehicles can be damaged by grenades or collisions with other vehicles, while others will require larger explosions, such as demolition charges, to be affected. Additionally, the damage systems for tanks and wheeled vehicles have been completely rewritten. Beyond the introduction of a new damage formula, certain parts, like the engine and transmission, can now be repaired after being destroyed. To perform this, tank crew members are now equipped with a new "Toolbox" item, which they can use to repair damaged parts. AI-controlled units will also be able to use this tool.
AI changes
Significant progress has been made recently in AI pathfinding, especially for vehicles. AI-controlled tanks and wheeled vehicles should now move more realistically on the battlefield and reach their destinations faster. While this is a substantial improvement, the AI has also received several smaller adjustments recently and will continue to be enhanced in future updates.
Tunisia and the Second Sino-Japanese War
We are almost done adding new vehicles and props for the new free Tunisia campaign, and those are already accessible on the Map & Mission Editor. We now plan to make a few desert uniforms for British and German army. In the meantime, now that the Stalingrad campaign is fully reworked, we will also start focusing most of our map making efforts into making this map and it's missions. As for the Second Sino-Japanese War DLC, we are almost done making the buildings and the uniforms for this campaign. Then we will also have to finalize the weapons, the vehicles, the map and the missions. This campaign will be finalized after the Tunisia campaign, and we hope to release it during the Fall.
Playstation release & Console Updates
All the changes up to this update are now being delivered to Xbox and Nintendo to wait for their approval which as usual should take around 10-15 days. Also we can finally confirm that a Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 version of the game is being worked on and we hope to release this around Christmas.

This rework consist of:
A complete overhaul of the Stalingrad map to make it more historically accurate, visually appealing, and optimized. A full rework of the missions to make them more historically accurate and to increase the total number of missions to 17. Revisions of the Soviet uniforms. Updates to various Soviet weapon animations, including the addition of the Mosin M91/30 with a straight bolt. Improvements to various Stalingrad props, with a few new props added as well. AI rework
As many know, we originally planned to rework the AI over a few weeks. However, we decided to make deeper changes than originally planned, leading us to work on the AI for a longer period and in parallel with other tasks. As a result, AI development has become a continuous process that will likely continue throughout the year. The next big step will focus primarily on improving AI vehicle driving.

AI rework
While in the last couple of updates we didn't do a lot of progresses with AI, as we focused a bit more on Stalingrad rework, free Tunisia campaign and Sino-Japanese war DLC, AI this is still a very big focus for this year. People that have been playing Easy Red 2 before 2024 I'm sure can clearly see big differencies on how AI troops behave and perform today, however we want to put the same amount of effort on vehicle's AI trough the rest of this year.
Stalingrad rework
As announced recently, we wanted to re-make it not only with better performance, but also bring it more up to line with the Easy Red 2 standard in terms of map and mission design. Now, it's featuring at least 14 totally new missions made from the ground up on a whole new map. We are going to start testing Stalingrad rework in public BETA during next days, and we expect it to be fully released during the second half of this month.
Tunisia and the Second Sino-Japanese War
Tunisia production is underway, and you can expect it to release within a couple of months after the Stalingrad rework is out (we'll have a more precise time frame once that is the case). Probably, by the end of this summer! Some locations it will include will be Tunis, Bizerte, Kasserine, Sidi Bou Zid, Faid Pass, and some more! As for the Second Sino-Japanese War DLC mentioned in previous update posts, it may take at least a few months to get out due to the sheer amount of content that's going to be included with it. We can tell you now at the very least it will include the 5th largest city in the world at the time-- the great Shanghai. Notice that the assets for the upcoming Stalingrad remake and Tunisia campaign are being added before the release of the campaign, so the Map Makers can already make use of them and can give us feedbacks inside our Discord server.
Console Updates
As soon as Stalingrad reowork will be ready to be released, we will send new updates to console versions featuring all the changes up to the latest version of the game, so of course also including the Stalingrad rework itself, this update and last few updates. We also are officially working on Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 porting of the game as requested by many of you. It's still very early to plan when a release will be possible, but we hope this is something that could be completed around Christmas.

- "Force end match" for multiplayer match admin has been moved to pause menu.
- Many other smaller fixes from user feedbacks.
Stalingrad
Stalingrad have previously been left a bit behind other official maps ever since its release in September 2022, so we wanted to re-make it not only with better performance, but also bring it more up to line with the Easy Red 2 standard in terms of map and mission design. Now, it's featuring at least 14 totally new missions made from the ground up on a whole new map. The rework will also include fully reworked soviet uniforms. The original Stalingrad map was wiped totally clean to pave way for this rework-- one where we not only improved performance, but also the visual aesthetic by a multitude of times! Now, Stalingrad should not only run better and look nicer, but it is also much more accurate in layout to the real deal, with iconic locations like the Fallen Fighters square, the Tram Depot, the Tsaritsa Balka, the Grain Elevator, Pavlov's house, and more! Here's some more preview images:
The Stalingrad rework can be expected to be released hopefully within the next month or so.
If you're a console player, we also recently made a bunch of quality of life improvements: improved UI, stability, and a rebindable gamepad to name a few. We're also working with console producers to find a way to get allowed at least a map and mission sharing system, but this may take some time, so please bear with us! On that note with consoles, we also started working on a Playstation version! December is about the predicted range for when that's in its final stages, though.
New Players
Thank you to the hundreds of new players that came during the recent WW2 sale and gave us tons of feedback and suggestions. It's people like you who keep this game improving, and thanks for coming along! Don't be afraid to join the official Discord server as well to leave even more feedback and suggestions!

AI Rework
Thanks to ongoing AI rework, we've implemented substantial changes and enhancements to the AI system, as detailed in the changelogs.*
Firstly, with improved CPU performance, we're thrilled to announce a significant increase in the maximum AI count. Now, battles can accommodate up to 140 concurrent units, not including forced AI spawns, which can further elevate this number in custom missions; however, even 140 units in vanilla missions yield significant gameplay changes. The revamped AI count operates differently now. Prior to starting a Singleplayer or Multiplayer mission, you can utilize a slider to select the maximum AI count. Naturally, higher AI counts will result in more CPU-intensive gameplay. AI can be scaled proportionally across factions to maintain mission balance and unlock achievements, or customized per faction for a unique experience. The same flexibility applies to ticket counts. This feature was highly requested, and we hope you appreciate this addition. Additionally, we've introduced a new "Covert Movement" squad order. This order directs units within your squad to withhold fire until either a "Fire at Will" command is issued or the enemy becomes "aware of the squad's presence" (i.e., enemies open fire toward the squad, a squad member fires, or squads enter a noisy vehicle). This system synergizes with spotting system adjustments. In fact now, squads are more difficult to spot by enemy AI if the enemies are "unaware of their presence". Being in a crouched or prone position further decreases the squad's visibility when squad is not spotted already. During a "Covert Movements" order, AI will mimic the squad leader's posture, allowing the leader to determine how stealthy the squad should be before engaging. Addressing concerns about AI infantry behavior and targeting, we've made substantial improvements to how AI aims before firing, takes cover, and overall, follows orders and navigates the environment. This marks a significant advancement for our AI, but our work isn't complete! We aim to further enhance and expand infantry AI (including the consideration of new systems such as non-combatant medics) and commence work on improving vehicle AI. Remember to let us know your suggestions for this rework in the dedicated AI-suggestion channel in our Discord server.
Tunisia and Second Sino Japanese War
We have been already announcing that we are working on a free Tunisia campaign, which was selected by polls run with our community, in fact North Afrika campaigns appeared to be the most requested campaign. We also recently announced that we are working on a Sino-Japanese war DLC . It is too early to determine whether those campaigns will be ready, but they should easily be released both this year, with a bit more priority over Tunisia campaign. We have been teasing Tunisia campaign in the trailer we recently launched: [previewyoutube=wViEylbANg4;full][/previewyoutube]
Xbox and Nintendo Switch updates
We are now proceeding to get the updates approved by Xbox and Nintendo to bring them on console versions as soon as possible. Console's update will be up to at least the changes mentioned in this very post.
TPS Animations Rework
We're continuously enhancing the game by incorporating new and reworked third-person shooter (TPS) animations on basically every update. If you'd like to stay in the loop on our upcoming animation improvements, you can find a detailed list on our Discord server.
Previously released campaigns
We can keep developing this game mostly thanks to people that are supporting us getting the base game and the DLCs. As we are doing with Tunisia, last year we developed three campaigns based on polls directed to our community, where Normandy, Battle of the Bulge and early war France Invasion were within the most requested campaigns.

Extra informations
In case you didn't know we have defined a precise roadmap for the next months of development and you can read it here. We keep improving all features of the base game and as always we will be going on listening to suggestions from people inside the Steam Discussions and the Discord server. Thank you all, Marco
Hi everyone,
In this post we are going to show huge news about AI rework and announce a new work-in-progress campaign
But first, here are the latest changes to Easy Red 2.
Recent changes
New features
Complete rework of the Pathfinding system (Changes are described in the AI rework section of this post). Reworked US Marine uniform (vests will come later) Reworked Italian SS uniform (vests will come later) Reworked Italian Infantry uniform (vests will come later) Reworked French uniforms and vests. New TPS animations. Added new ammo types. Added new system to easily find correct ammo type in squad editor. Added new grenade types for Italian and Soviet troops.
Fixes
Fixes with music slider. Changes in sound FXs. Fixes in some icons. Fixes in Map Editor. Fixes in FPS uniforms. Fixes in Steam invite system for MP. Improvements in scroll views for both mouse and gamepad. Fixed scroll view issues with the server list. Resolved a bug where switching seats in a vehicle or selecting ammo was possible while the game was paused or the inventory was open. Fixed a bug allowing faction switching in the shooting range during a multiplayer session. Corrected a bug where units spawned in T-Pose on vehicles when the vehicle was spawned far from the camera. Further improvements in various translations. Continued UI reworks. Fixes applied to squad loadouts, maps and missions. Rectified a bug where the enter vehicle animation sometimes played when taking control of planes already in the sky. UI Blur enhancements. Fixes applied to UI navigation. Adjustments made to fog issues. Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.
AI Rework
Finally a big aspect of the AI rework have been completed: The Pathfinding system have been remade from scratch.
The new system will bring: Much better performance for AIs, so probably the maximum AI count in battles can be increased soon by increasing squad sizes to more correct numbers and possibly also bringing more squads into missions (for console version as well). Less zig-zag paths; In the screenshot below you can see the new paths (white) compared to the previous system (yellow). This will allow units to move in a more natural way, and will help avoiding vehicles getting stuck and will make them reach the objective faster. More precise paths that should avoid vaulting over unexpected objects or ending on top of sandbags or other strange positions.
We plan to expand the pathfinding system even more, potentially rewriting the way AIs choose their covers, and allowing the introduction of a ladder system that AI can use as well. This is a huge step up, but it's just the beginning of the AI rework. Once pathfinding is 100% reworked, we will move more into the actual logic of AIs for soldiers and vehicles. Remember to let us know your suggestions for this rework in the dedicated AI-suggestion channel in our Discord server.
Tunisia and Second Sino Japanese War
We have been already announcing that we are working on Tunisia campaign, which was selected by polls run with our community, in fact North Afrika campaigns appeared to be the most requested campaign.
However today we are announcing another campaign that will be worked on this year: The Second Sino-Japanese War!
Here we have already some of the clothing that will be used for Chinese infantry.
The work on the two campaigns is not going to slow down AI rework or other general improvements and fixes in the game as those are works made by different parts of the team. We already confirmed Tunisia as free campaign, and we will try to bring Sino-Japanese camapaign for free as well, however this will depend on the financial state of the project by the time the campaign is nearly complete, as we would like to keep developing the game as long as budget will allow us. Also notice that it is too early to determine whether those campaigns will be ready, but they should easily be released both this year, with a bit more priority over Tunisia campaign. We have been teasing Tunisia campaign in the trailer we recently launched: [previewyoutube=wViEylbANg4;full][/previewyoutube]
Xbox and Nintendo Switch updates
Last week we updated Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions. However today's PC update already brings some new features that will come to consoles during their next update cycle. New roadmap
We are a bit late with this, but finally we prepared the new Roadmap! Last roadmap was full of plans and we managed to complete everything except for the animations rework and the XBox version; We did complete 100% the FPS animations, but we will need just a few more months to finalize the TPS animations, while for the XBox we managed to obtain the developers kit only a few weeks ago; But apart from this, everything else in the roadmap have been 100% completed, so now we prepared a new Roadmap for the first half of next year, and you can read it here! The roadmap doesn't contain everything we are going to add to the game, but just the most important features. Probably the biggest challange and the most interesting new for the early 2024, is the complete AI reowork! We have a dedicated channel on our Discord group where we are collecting all the suggestions about how the new AI should work!
Kos Rework
Recently we announced a free complete rework of the Kos campaign. We will make complelty new buildings, revisit the entire map and remake the missions for the campaign. Old buildings will not be removed from the game (and so from the workshop missions), but just swapped with new and fresh buildings on the Kos map. Here's some of the modular city buildings we are making:

Hi everyone, First of all, here are the latest changes to Easy Red 2:
Recent changes
New features: Added wet ground when it rains. Added some more new TPS animations. Fixes: Fixed head clipping when ADS on TPS open-top turret. Fixed breath effect not working anymore after rig change. Improved turret rotation sound system. Improved the UI at higher screen resolution. Improved head movement system in TPS. Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.
Kos Rework
During last update we announced a free complete reowork of the Kos campaign. We will make complelty new buildings, revisit the entire map and remake the missions for the campaign. Old buildings will not be removed from the game (and so from the workshop missions), but just swapped with new and fresh buildings on the Kos map. We'll show screenshots and clips about this rework very soon.
TPS Animations Rework
We're continuously enhancing the game by incorporating new and reworked third-person shooter (TPS) animations on a weekly basis. If you'd like to stay in the loop on our upcoming animation improvements, you can find a detailed list on our Discord server.
Xbox release
We are making huge progresses with the XBox release, we just finalized implementing the input system for the XBox version, and we can confirm that the XBox version will be playable both with gamepad or Keyboard! We are now working to make the multiplayer system working with XBox and we are ready to submit the build to Microsoft.
Upcoming campaigns
We recently announced the launch of the store page for the Ardennes 1940 & 1944 DLC. This exciting expansion introduces the French faction, allowing you to defend France during the early days of World War II. Additionally, it brings you to the intense late-war Battle of the Bulge campaign, complete with new winter equipment and vehicles for an immersive experience in Easy Red 2. We are almost done with this campaign and it's likely it will be released by the end of this month! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2617770/Easy_Red_2_Ardennes_1940__1944/?beta=0 [previewyoutube=7pN2CvzNz7g;full][/previewyoutube]

Hi everyone.
We finally prepared the Roadmap for the future plans of the game in the next 9 months circa.
We're diving into an exciting project that's sure to keep us busythe AI rework. This has been a highly requested feature, promising substantial enhancements to both the feel and gameplay. Our goal is to revamp the AI code completely, paving the way for more realistic behaviors, improved performance to accommodate a larger number of AI in battles, and a streamlined process for adding new AI capabilities and features.
With that in mind, the roadmap is straightforward this time, so let's get right into it:
Let us know what you think about this new Roadmap. The elements are sorted circa from the ones we will work on first (left) to the last ones we will work on (right).
Please keep in mind that this is not the list of ALL the updates you can expect on the following months, but just the biggest ones we will be focusing on.
We will for sure keep improving all features of the base game and as always we will be going on listening to suggestions from people inside the Steam Discussions and the Discord server.
The updates for the base game we are constantly releasing are very expansive, so if you are interested on giving us a hand to make a better work, this is our Patreon channel. All the money raised from this will be spent to make a better game.
Thank you all,

Hi everyone, First of all, here are the latest changes to Easy Red 2:
Recent changes
New features: Added Enfield No1 MK2 revolver in 2 variants. Added new auto-short sleeve system* Added new vehicle drift sound and fx. Added early war german side cap. Added new AI cover animation reacting to suppression fire. New TPS Bazooka anims. Fixes: Improvements in TPS controls. Big changes in Plane's physic. Improvements in Physic of Wheeled Vehicles and Tanks. Adjustments in shoulder patches. Improved uniform riggings. Small improvements in sound system. Small improvements in AI. Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server. *The new short-sleeve system introduces the ability for uniforms to adapt to short-sleeve or summer variants based on the current climate during missions. The game calculates the temperature of the area by considering factors such as latitude, longitude, season, time of day, and climate conditions (such as rain or fog). Depending on the resulting temperature, the game will automatically select the appropriate uniform variant. It's important to note that this system is currently exclusive to British infantry uniform.
TPS Animations Rework
We're continuously enhancing the game by incorporating new and reworked third-person shooter (TPS) animations on a weekly basis. If you'd like to stay in the loop on our upcoming animation improvements, you can find a detailed list on our Discord server. The enhancements we've implemented so far have already brought a noticeable transformation to the game's visuals. In particular, we've seized the opportunity to refine the AI cover system, giving them more dynamic animations that respond effectively to suppression fire.

Nintendo Switch
I want to personally thank all the Nintendo Switch users who provided feedback on the latest update and the Normandy DLC. According to your feedback, the game on the console seems to run better than ever and has few (if any) worthy competitors on the platform in terms of World War II simulators, and we are proud of this achievement. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Next step for the console will be to bring the new updates and the new upcoming campaigns on the console as well!

Hi everyone, First of all, here are the latest changes to Easy Red 2:
Recent changes
New features: Completly reworked TPS rigs. All the uniforms have been re-skinned to a much more quality and more optimized skeleton system. Started implementing new TPS animations (for the moment no-weapon locomotion and some rifle animations). More reworked TPS animations will come every week. Added new uniform modding system. Added setting to keep reading mouse input when binded input is a controller. It's now possible to keep aiming down sight in TPS when cycling bolt. Added new grass types in map editor. Uniforms can now have short sleeve or can integrate gloves. Uniforms can now have hood and/or cover the head. Fixes: Updated Normandy map. Added more icons in server browser. Removed vignette suppression fx at easy difficulty. Added new sound fxs. Fixes in new pine trees. Fixes in DoF. Fixes in missions. Fixed switch faction button when there is no other faction. Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.
TPS Animations Rework
After putting in a significant amount of effort, we have successfully revamped all of our uniforms for the TPS animations rework. The TPS Animation Rework aims to enhance the quality of our game by remaking all the third-person-view and AI animations. This rework consists of several stages, and we have recently completed a major milestone: a complete overhaul of our uniforms, utilizing a more refined and optimized skeleton system. This new system will greatly improve the fluidity and flexibility of our animations. Now the focus is on creating new animations for this updated rig. It's worth noting that some of the older animations may appear slightly less polished on this new rig. However, we have already introduced new and improved animations for the no-weapon pose and the rifle pose, and we have plans to introduce fresh animations on a weekly basis until all of the animations have been reworked. It's important to recognize that while our primary focus is on reworking existing animations, once this phase is completed, we intend to incorporate new animations and systems into the game.
Uniform modding
Thanks to the revamped TPS rig, creating custom uniform mods for the game has become a straightforward process. Designing uniform mods for the game is relatively easy compared to other aspects of modding. It also provides the flexibility to design uniforms with various features, such as long sleeves, short sleeves, or even those that completely cover the hands, such as gloves or creatures that require modeling of the entire arm and hand. Furthermore, this system enables the creation of custom head models, such as hoods or unique creature faces, which can be integrated into your uniform mods. Additionally, custom vests can be designed using this system. Here is an example of modded uniform: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3045183363 If you're interested in learning how to create a modded uniform, we have prepared a simple tutorial for you: [previewyoutube=J2PUqIHkFws;full][/previewyoutube] Also remember that you can learn how to start creating all other kind of mods by watching this tutorial: [previewyoutube=PLHL02d4bBI;full][/previewyoutube] It is also it's suggested to join the Discord server where you can confront with other mod makers and with us to learn more about mod making.

We've essentially completed the development of the new DLCs for Early War France Invasion and the Late War Battle of the Bulge! We will now begin a phase of private testing that will last a couple of weeks to ensure everything functions smoothly. Afterward, we will set up Steam pages, and we'll be ready to go! Our aim is to release these DLCs by the end of the year, although we don't have a specific release date yet. Upcoming campaigns
We are excited to announce two new campaigns for Easy Red 2! As many of you know, we ran a poll a few months ago to ask you what campaigns you would like to see next. We received many interesting responses, with the most popular requests being for North Africa, Poland, France (early war), the Bulge, China, Market Garden, and Berlin. It was difficult to choose which campaigns to develop next, but we ultimately decided on two new fronts: Early War France: The Battle of Stonne Battle in the Ardennes We chose France in particular because it was a popular request from the beginning of development, and we wanted to choose a relatively known campaign but not covered in many games that took place near the Ardennes region. This allowed us to include some late-war Ardennes winter campaign content in the same package. The two campaigns will take place in areas that are very close to each other, but they will be two separate maps. This allowed us to develop the campaigns quickly without delaying other work, such as the Switch updates, modding support, and ongoing improvements to the game. In fact, most of the work for the campaigns is already done! I should also mention that we delayed announcing these campaigns because we originally planned to make them free updates. However, we ended up spending more money than expected on developing high-quality maps and missions. As a result, the campaigns will most likely be a paid DLC (two campaigns in one DLC). I will try to keep the price as low as possible, but it will ultimately depend on the final development costs. A view of the Stonne map area
A view of the late war Ardennes area
New uniforms (French uniforms for Stonne and US winter uniforms for late war Ardennes), vehicles, weapons, and of course, the French faction will be included in the campaigns. We will be revealing vehicles and weapons are gonna be added during the next days inside our Work-in-progress challel in our Discord server, but in the meantime, let me already show a couple of them: MAS 38

We don't have a specific release date yet, but it will likely be within the next couple months.
Modding support
We have been very impressed with the cool mods that the community has created since we released the modding system. Earlier this month, we released a short video showcasing some of the best mods that we have been testing. Since then, even more great mods have been created, so we will be making a new video soon. Unfortunately, uniforms are not yet moddable. We are working on this feature, but it is taking longer than expected because we are also completely reworking the TPS animations, and until we don't put the new TPS rig in game, allowing modding uniforms with the old system won't really make much sense. We will release more information about this as soon as possible. Anyway, you can learn how to start creating all other kind of mods by watching this tutorial: [previewyoutube=PLHL02d4bBI;full][/previewyoutube] It is also it's suggested to join the Discord server where you can confront with other mod makers and with us to learn more about mod making.

Nintendo Switch
We have finally released the new update for the Switch, which brings the game up to version 1.2.6. We have received positive feedback from Nintendo users about the new improvements, such as the improved stability and performance, and the new features, such as the Map & Mission Editor and the new weapons and vehicles. The Normandy Campaign will be released for the Switch in the first half of September. The exact release date will vary by region, but normally it will be between the 4th and the 11th.

Hi everyone, We spent a lot of time during last couple months trying to fix a bug that was making some user (normally RTX card user) getting weird crash issue when running on Direct X. It appeared it was a bug with a recent Unity version and finally a fix for the issue has been released. We are integrating this feature with last update so you can safely use Direct X again with the game. Note that Direct X seems to perform better on Nvidia Cards, while Vulkan seems to perform better on AMD cards, however you can try both and pick the one that works better with your setup.
Recent changes
New features: Fixed a bug that was making Direct X crashing for many RTX cards users and some GTX cards users. Fixes: Improved aiming down sight and animations for some weapons. Changed the way decals are managed in memory to improve memory management and performance. Changed the way blood & burns effect happens on uniform improve memory management and performance. Changed the way scopes and animations on vehicles are loaded in memory to improve memory management and performance. Other memory management and performance improvements. Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.
Hi everyone, Here's the changelogs since last week:
Recent changes
New features: New medical animations. New Colt m1911 animations. New M1 Bazooka animations. New M2 Flamethrower animations. New Browning m1919 animations. Added US MG Squads in Anzio campaign. Heavily changed bullet system + added new ammo types. Fixes: Improved the way weapons manage chambered bullets. Improvements in battle and achievements balancment. Improved transition between animations (FPS). Adjustments in animations (FPS). Fixes in Map & Mission editor. Improvements with bipod system. Fixed a bug where magazine was invisible sometimes when switching to another unit in the squad. Fixes with some weapon aim alignment. Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server. Since today we will start with the TPS animation rework, hard to say how long it will take, but probably less than the FPS animation rework. We will still provide changes and fixes in the FPS animations and we will of course still add new weapons that will require new FPS animations, but most of the focus of animation rework will transit to the TPS animations now.
Normandy Campaign
Recently we released our Normandy Campaign, we worked extremly hard on it for more than 9 months and we are happy to see that it recived quite a lot of appreciation, so thank you a lot for everyone who decided to play it! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2317930/Easy_Red_2_Normandy/ [previewyoutube=6lBxH8Hq2PA;full][/previewyoutube]
Modding support
We created an SDK to easily create modding. We are performing tests with some volounteers and so far everything is going super well. Even users with very little modding knowledge appears to be able to create any kind of mod supported by the game. That's also thanks to some tutorials we are creating which completly guide players on how to follow the entire modding process. We expect to have an open testing version of the modding system within a couple weeks.

Modding support
Thanks to the support received with the Normandy campaign release, we can now start working much more deeply into modding, and in fact, we started making some first modding tests that gave great results. I think it's fair to expect a first modding system to be ready within a couple months. The first batch of modding system will mostly focus on allowing adding new content to the game such as: New weapons (with their own new sounds and animations). New Vehicles. New props & buildings. New uniforms and clothing. Voice actings. Right now we can't confirm the possibility to modding vanilla content for many many reasons, however allowing for adding new content should still give much more freedom anyway. Also later on we will allow for adding even more modded content for sure.

Unity of Command II + Desert Rats DLC
Unity of Command II is the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed strategy games of all time; a game critics called 'the perfect gateway' into computer war games. In the summer of 1940, Italian dictator Benito Mussolini joined Germany's war in a bid to rapidly expand his fledgling empire. The Italian Army would proceed to attack Greece, Egypt, and the British Colonies in East Africa. You will take command of the vastly outnumbered Allied forces as they attempt to stop first the Italians, and then the Germans in the form of the vaunted Afrika Korps. From a token force of a few divisions, your army will expand into a vast force of more than a quarter-million men. Experience the see-saw action in the sweltering heat of the Desert in operations such as Compass and Crusader. Re-live the often overlooked and untold story of the dogged fighting in the mountains of Eritrea and the Blitz through Somalia and into Ethiopia. See Unity of Command II game page! Those 3 games are really gems in the WW2 genre, so again, here's the link to the bundle! Thank you so much, wish you a great time. Marco.

Hi everyone. This is the full changelog list since last update: New features: Added parachuting (For the moment working just for bail out from damaged planes, soon available along with C-47 and JU-52 cargo planes for Airborne missions. Many new props (new huts, shacks and palms) for Kwajalein and upcoming Roi-Namur free campaign. Added japanese camo uniform and japanese MG gear. Added V-Sync as separate option. New sounds FXs. Fixes: Huge changes in memory management leading to better performance, less stuttering, smoother loadings and less RAM usage. Kwajalein partial rework. Various other fixes from Discord feedback channel. Improvements in Stalingrad map. Notice that this update will be quite big in download size because of the memory management rework, but the benefit of that will be that in future updates will be generally very small and with faster install times as well. Also this update took longer than expected to be released because those changes were acquatlly quite important and we spend a lot of days just for testing them. Regarding Roi-Namur free campaign we are almost done adding the last props and structures, we think that the campaign will be ready by the end of the month. We are also still experimenting the new animation system and there will be news about this soon. In case you didn't know we have defined a precise roadmap for the next month of development and you can read it here. We keep improving all features of the base game and as always we will be going on listening to suggestions from people inside the Steam Discussions and the Discord server. Hi everyone.
We finally prepared the Roadmap for the future plans of the game in the next 9 months circa.
Before presenting it to you, I wish to explain how we decided what to include inside it.
After running a poll for a few weeks we managed to learn what are the features that users would like most.
In particular we received over 800 votes in the poll and those are the most requested features:
Parachuting/bail out (47,8%).
More mission types (45,6%).
Deep modding system (37,5%).
Unfortunately we forgot to add to the poll one reworks that we were actually considering, but many people added it as option in the poll:
Full animation system rework.
Another thing that was missing from the poll but we were considering on our own was to rework the in game campaigns to increase the overall game quality. This year we already reworked Anzio, but we think Kwajalein and Kos needs the same amount of love in the near future.
Kwajalein in particular in our opinion lacks a bit of destructibility and in general the pacific theater should have more than only 4 missions, so for that reason we decided to start reworking this campaign adding also a new small "Roi-Namu" 4 missions campaign which will be an island located in the same atoll of Kwajalein, and should be ready within 2-3 months.
The poll was also considering future paid content such as DLCs and console released for 2023.
A DLC was just released, why are we already talking about DLCs?
First, consider that the game is too cheap and doesn't sell enough to sustain costs for many free reworks.
We have to find ways to increase our budget somehow if we want to keep working into this.
At the same time I understand that people might be afraid that working into DLCs will slow down the development of the base game, but actually that's not really the case;
In fact the development of the base game rely almost all on coded features, sound design and animations, while the work for new DLCs (And in general working in new campaigns such as Roi-Namur) is mostly 3D modeling, map & mission making works. This means that no resources from the development of the base game will be used to develop DLCs as that will be a work for a different part of the team.
That said, Normandy DLC was the most voted DLC with 17,6% of votes, followed by Poland invasion (15,4%) and "Wunderwaffen" (11,5%). We also received quite a good amount of votes for releasing the game on XBOX.
Finally, for Nintendo Switch users, we are preparing a big update to improve performance on the console by a lot and to include the mentioned reworks, campaigns and DLCs. We estimate the next update on Switch to be ready within the end of the year (Consider that Nintendo requires almost a month to test and approve updates so we need to make as much cumulative updates as possible).
So based on everything just said, this is the Roadmap we managed to prepare:
Thank you all,
Marco

Soon we will release a precise roadmap about our plans for late 2022 and early 2023, but we can already tell you something about this. In fact we already started working into a new small campaign that will be released for free by the end of this year. We also will do a map rework in Kwajalein also by the end of 2022. By the end of the year we plan also to add parachooting and to make some improvements in Map Editor to make it more compatible with low end hardwares. About next year, we hopefully will bring a new DLC campaign (from the most voted ones in the poll we ran a few weeks ago) and we also hope to bring modding support and XBoX version at some point in 2023. We also started studying ways to fully remake our animation system to give a huge improvement into the game quality, however we can't confirm yet if we will be able to complete this rework because it's a very long, complicated and expansive work. The reworks we are doing are very expansive, so if you are interested on giving us a hand to make a better work, this is our Patreon channel. Hi everyone!

With this update we mostly finalize it's content. Here you can see the trailer: [previewyoutube=_zZuRuSfpVU;full][/previewyoutube] And here you can see the steam page for it. Also the 1st of September Easy Red 2 landed on Nintendo switch. As many already know, releasing updates on Nintendo Switch requires more time than doing it on Steam so the DLC will come a little later on the console. I would also like to thank all the testers who helped us to guarantee the best possible quality for this new campaign.
List of all changelogs since last version

Future plans
So what now? We still have many plans for the game. As probably many of you know, since the release almost 2 years ago we almost always released an update every week. We want to keep up the development as long as we can for the base game but also keep supporting the DLC adding new content in the future for it as well. In general we will focus 50% of our time working time for base game features (probably coming soon parachooting & more) and 50% of our working time for more console releases (possibly XBox & Playstation) and future DLCs. In particular we created this poll to ask you what you would like to see in the future. The first part contains only features that you can expect to get for free in the base game, and the second part console releases and DLCs that you might be interested in for the future. We would like to bring all possible content we can to the game, but with this poll we want to understand what we should prioritize based on your suggestions. feel free to vote anything inside the poll, or to submit custom suggestions. The updates for the base game we are constantly releasing are very expansive, so if you are interested on giving us a hand to make a better work, this is our Patreon channel. All the money raised from this will be spent to make a better game. Also you can stay in touch with us through our Discord server. Thank you all, Marco

Hi everyone, In this update we managed to fix a few more stuff before finalizing the Stalingrad DLC. The game on Nintendo Switch will of course be fully playable already since the release tomorrow, however we did our best to work on this patch to give the best experience we could. Finally, after the DLC release in September we will evaluate what will be next steps in the Easy Red 2 development regarding free updates adding new base game features, but also the possibility to work for releasing the game to more videogame consoles and more future DLCs. In this poll you can give us your opinion about what should we prioritize for the game development for the next few months. Thank you for giving us your opinion there! We have also added some props (around 50) which will be used in the Stalingrad DLC. These props are now also available for custom missions. This includes railways, wagons, walls, crates, industrial props and much more.
Here's the full changelogs list:
New features:

Also you can stay in touch with us through our Discord server.

Hi everyone! With this update the game has all features that were originally planned, and the game is finally ready to exit Early Access. Some days of testing will be carried out to make sure the game has as few bugs as possible before making this official. So what now? The game will still receive updates for at least all 2022. Not only DLCs like the upcoming Stalingrad DLC, but also new updates with new features, vehicles, weapons, bug fixes and more will be released with a high frequency as usual. During 2021 we released more then one update per week in average, and we want to keep this as high as possible, but we know that in the coming months, due to personal and technical reasons, the updates may slow down a bit, but don't worry. During Q1 of 2022 many new features are already planned such as new destructible buildings and props for all vanilla maps and editor maps, AI improvements, graphic improvements, and more. Also, starting from today Nintendo Switch version of Easy Red 2 is officially in development as well, and it should require just a few month to be ready. As always, you can report bugs, suggest features, and in general get in touch in Easy Red 2 Discord Server. Also, here's the trailer for the 1.0 release: [previewyoutube=BKes4f_0hX8;full][/previewyoutube] Last, here's the changelogs since last update: Fixed quick match auto join. Fixes in uniforms and faces. Fixes in animations. Fixes in gamepad controls. Fixes in mission editor and map editor. Fixes in multiplayer. Fixes in vaulting. Various other bug fixes. Thank you all for your support, really, it's thanks to each of you that Easy Red 2 has become what it is over the last year. I hope to see you in the Discord server. Marco.

With the 1.0 the game will be finally complete and fully playable with all the features there were initially planned; Actually the game ended up having much more content then the originally planned, such as the Kos campaign, the planes, the new Map editor and much more. Still after the 1.0 we will continue working on the game for at least all the 2023, hearing to your feedbacks and suggestions as always; Some new features are already planned for the new year, and also we are working more and more on the Stalingrad DLC (ETA Q2 2022) So, right now we are mostly working on improving performance, fixing glithces and polishing the overall quality of Easy Red 2. We have been able to play full multiplayer battles on game's missions and workshop missions in PvE and PvP. If you would like to participate to the tests or just take a look to the multiplayer, you can access it joining the beta of the game. To do that, right click on Easy Red 2 from your Steam library, select properties, go to Beta tab, and select "privatetesting" branch. Hello everyone! Easy Red 2 has just been released in Early Access. A great milestone has been reached, but the final goal has not yet been achieved. Already in the coming weeks new content such as missions, weapons, vehicles and fetaures will be added. The game will have significant improvements month after month. Also the current price is very affordable, but this will change at the official launch, so we recommend buying the game right now! As usual for questions and advice, you can reply to this post or contact me at marco@corvostudio.it. Thanks everyone and have fun. Marco

Easy Red 2 LINUX [2.48 G]
In this new version of Easy red we wrote everything from scratch to reach quality in game mechanics, and optimization to manage a new great looking design running even on low end machines.
And we are taking you in Italy, from the shores of Anzio, to the bombed peaks of Montecassino, and in Japan in the middle of the Battle for Kwajalein.
And we are ready to add more battles in the future.
- Simulation and immersivity
That's what we want for Easy Red 2. We try to let the player feel all the emotions that soldiers live in the confusion and adrenaline of a battlefield. Explosions, devastation, orders, shot fires will be all around the player, that will be rewarded by the game not for his number of kills, but for his strategic and survival skills. - Large battles and historical locations
All campaign will take place in large Open-World maps that reproduces the real places of the fights, and battles plans are faithful to the events that have historically occurred. However, the player won't only be challenged from surviving the fighting, but could have to follow definite orders that could change the sort of the entire mission. - Squad based gameplay
No one can go to war alone; A good tactic require a good team work.
So be the squad leader, or the medic, or maybe the radioman: You will always have a job to do inside your squad.
We especially focused on creating sub-objectives that differs from main mission objectives. While the main objective of a team may be to have to conquer a specific area, a sub-objective could be assigned following the radio requests of a tank to clear its way from an anti-tank gun that has been sighted. So gameplay has radically improved in a more realistic and dynamic way. - Vehicles
War machines have changed the war forever, and World War 2 proved that in an unequivocal way, so Prepare to jump in you Panzer 4, Sherman, M3 lee, or any tank that dominated the real battles fought in the game.
We decided to let the player have a full control of the crew of the vehicles; He will be able to drive and shoot tanks, as long as there are crew members on the seats to use each armament. Also battles doesn't stop when a tank is disabled. Lot of tank crews in World War 2 had time to escape from unusable tanks and survive the battles, and so it will in Easy Red 2: If you lost your tank in a fight you will need to bring safely your crew back to your lines. - Devastation
Explosions, will destroy sandbags, walls, fences, vehicles, defenses, and the battlefield could radically change during all the fight.
Also, enemy fire will constantly suppress you and your squad. Learn how to move safely in a real combat scenario, and keep your helmet on your head. - Optimizations
We want a smooth war simulation, so we designed our own graphic style to bring great animations, textures and effects, with the compromise of having a high and stable Frame-Rate. This means that many more units and vehicles will be able to appear on the screen, contributing to the immersion of the fight.
