Easy Red 2 is the game for who knows what he wants from a World War 2 Game: Simulation in weapons and movements, historical accuracy in battles, huge maps with a lot of deployed units, vehicles dominating the battlefields and a realistic combat approach.
In this new version of Easy red we wrote everything from scratch to reach quality in game mechanics, and optimization to manage a new great looking design running even on low end machines.
And we are taking you in Italy, from the shores of Anzio, to the bombed peaks of Montecassino, and in Japan in the middle of the Battle for Kwajalein.
And we are ready to add more battles in the future.

- Simulation and immersivity
That's what we want for Easy Red 2. We try to let the player feel all the emotions that soldiers live in the confusion and adrenaline of a battlefield. Explosions, devastation, orders, shot fires will be all around the player, that will be rewarded by the game not for his number of kills, but for his strategic and survival skills. - Large battles and historical locations
All campaign will take place in large Open-World maps that reproduces the real places of the fights, and battles plans are faithful to the events that have historically occurred. However, the player won't only be challenged from surviving the fighting, but could have to follow definite orders that could change the sort of the entire mission. - Squad based gameplay
No one can go to war alone; A good tactic require a good team work.
So be the squad leader, or the medic, or maybe the radioman: You will always have a job to do inside your squad.
We especially focused on creating sub-objectives that differs from main mission objectives. While the main objective of a team may be to have to conquer a specific area, a sub-objective could be assigned following the radio requests of a tank to clear its way from an anti-tank gun that has been sighted. So gameplay has radically improved in a more realistic and dynamic way. - Vehicles
War machines have changed the war forever, and World War 2 proved that in an unequivocal way, so Prepare to jump in you Panzer 4, Sherman, M3 lee, or any tank that dominated the real battles fought in the game.
We decided to let the player have a full control of the crew of the vehicles; He will be able to drive and shoot tanks, as long as there are crew members on the seats to use each armament. Also battles doesn't stop when a tank is disabled. Lot of tank crews in World War 2 had time to escape from unusable tanks and survive the battles, and so it will in Easy Red 2: If you lost your tank in a fight you will need to bring safely your crew back to your lines. - Devastation
Explosions, will destroy sandbags, walls, fences, vehicles, defenses, and the battlefield could radically change during all the fight.
Also, enemy fire will constantly suppress you and your squad. Learn how to move safely in a real combat scenario, and keep your helmet on your head. - Optimizations
We want a smooth war simulation, so we designed our own graphic style to bring great animations, textures and effects, with the compromise of having a high and stable Frame-Rate. This means that many more units and vehicles will be able to appear on the screen, contributing to the immersion of the fight.

Kwajalein, Roi-Namur & Makin Remakes
\n\nThe pacific campaigns of Easy Red 2 (Kwajalein, Roi-Namur, and Makin) have been totally remade from the ground up. Most missions have a completely different look and feel-- with much more content in general: new squad types, more interesting and historically accurate detailed maps, many brand new missions, and a higher level of uniqueness between each of the 3 campaigns.\n\nSome of the biggest additions to the campaigns besides the islands themselves would certainly be the iconic LVT landing craft and tank variants (LVTa) previously showcased in earlier posts. Now, most of the landing missions in the campaigns revolve around these new vehicles! Japanese tanks have also been totally reworked, with all of them brought up to a proper standard we find appropriate. The Ha-Go as well as the Ka-Mi have been redone, with the Ka-Mi getting an extra variant to accompany the amphibious flotation device attachment, allowing it to swim in water. Also, the beloved US divebomber, the SBD Dauntless, has been added.\n\nNew Marine and Army HBT uniforms have been added, including the 7th Infantry Division\'s checkerboard identifier panels as well as Kwajalein\'s 7th ID unique camo helmets. Additionally, all USMC uniforms now have a bloused variant, where the soldiers pants are not tucked all the way into his boots: an iconic look for marines in the pacific theater. \n\nKwajalein and Roi-Namur are now much more accurate to the real terrain and devastation that occurred in real life, where the island had been described by a marine as if \"it had been picked up 20,000 feet and then dropped\". In contrast to this, Makin island looks more like your typical \"tropical paradise\".\n\n
\n\nWe\'re more than happy to share with you these campaign remakes, and feel now they\'re truly up to a great standard for Easy Red 2 in 2025, and hope you enjoy them.\n\nHere\'s a fan-made trailer for the pacific campaign rework by Tracid FM.\n\n\nStalingrad Rework
\n\nStalingrad had its major rework around this time last year. While its visual standard was brought up greatly for the time, we felt we could do even better now. The map now is much more detailed, and missions have been reworked as well for better balancing and vehicle variety. With this also comes the totally reworked soviet uniforms, being not only far better looking but much more accurate!\n\n
\n\nNew Gameplay Options
\n\nAcknowledging common feedback about AI and overall difficulty, we understand there are players who would like more forgiving gameplay, and others who expect a hardcore challenge where the player has the same survival rate as any other unit on the field.\n\nOur team\'s vision definitely leans toward a easy-to-pick-up WW2 simulator, so we don\'t intend to make the game more arcade-like. However, we decided to accommodate arcade-like fans by reworking how difficulty settings work.\n\nPlayers can now fully customize difficulty settings with tons of new sliders and buttons: modify AI accuracy, explosion radius, suppression effects, player damage, disable player auto-surrender, change stamina duration, gun overheat values, bullet gravity and more. Now you can change the gameplay to fit your preferences, or simply provide a way to play with different rules to break up repitition. You can create and save your difficulty presets, but the game will still offer default suggested presets that recreate how we intend the game to be played.\n\n
\n\nAs always, whenever mission settings are changed to values that make gameplay unbalanced or too easy, achievement unlocking will be disabled as a way to encourage players to experience the intended difficulty settings.\nMultiplayer menu list will also display what parameters have been set for the room, so you can evaluate carefully before joining a multiplayer match.\n\nThis comes after listening to and interacting with our community through the Discord server , r/EasyRed2 subreddit and various other social networks in order to realize this system in a way that pays honor to the original formula of Easy Red 2, but also expanding the sandbox idea of the game to offer a more customizable experience.\n\nUpcoming Reworks & Future plans
\n\nWith the pacific campaigns now remade, we are setting full mapping attention forward onto the Anzio and Cassino remakes, in which the original Anzio campaign is being split into two maps with likely many more missions. More details to come as it is developed more, so keep an eye on our discord! As always, alongside this work will be development improving old weapons, vehicles, and uniforms already in-game.\n\nOnce the Italian campaign rework is complete, we have several exciting ideas we can work on, including South Tunisia and Iwo Jima, along with early concepts for a larger, more ambitious campaign. Well properly reveal our future roadmap in a dedicated post soonstay tuned!\n\nCheck out the Shanghai-Nanking DLC if you havent yet!
\n\nOur most recent DLC was released just earlier this year!\nIn Easy Red 2: Shanghai-Nanking, you will fight for control of Shanghai, and the conflict will spread to locations such as: Luodian, Baoshan, Wusong, Jinshanwei, Hongkou, Suzhou creek, Chunhua, the Yuhuatai hills and the city of Nanjing.\n\nhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/3499380/Easy_Red_2_Shanghai__Nanking/\n\nExtra Information
\nIn case you didn\'t know, we have defined a precise roadmap for the next months of development and you can read it here. \n\nWe will continue to improve all features of the base game, and as always we will be going on listening to suggestions from people inside the Steam Discussions forums and the official Discord server .\n\nThank you for all of your continued support, and we\'ll see you again next time!\n\nMarco and the Easy Red 2 Development Team[ 2025-07-29 09:51:41 CET ] [Original Post]
