Demo update, Gamescom, and release window change!
We're also excited to (digitally) be at Gamescom 2021! We won't have any major news to share or trailers to reveal, but it'll be an exciting opportunity to show Midnight Protocol to new people. And finally, we're pushing our release window slightly. Initially we said Midnight Protocol would fully release this summer, that's changing to Q4 2021. We can't give away the exact date yet, but it won't be late in Q4, think more like Q4.1! m.OS loading m.OS system check..... OK All done >> Hackers! We've got a few updates for you. First, we have made some small but meaningful changes to the demo, based on your feedback. There were more minor changes made, but these are the highlights you should know about!
Changelog
- Updated writing that reflects the quality of the finished product.
- A new opening message to frame the story.
- TAB-completion prompt on the email screen so you can autocomplete emails and skip through these sections if you don't like them.
- Keyboard sounds are now a literal part of the soundtrack, you can turn these off in the options menu.
- Predictive typing: the game will now show command suggestions while you type, you can turn this off in the options menu.
- The final game has a bigger focus on the 'intranet' (an in-game search engine), the tutorial has been changed to include the renewed focus on this intranet
- Slight change to the login screen to avoid confusion on the autoptyping system
- Tag system added to the programs in the game to make their function less obscure.
- Missions are now tagged with the name of the person who gave them to you.
- A few commands were added that are available after the honeypot mission such as map, collapse, min and max to help manage slices or the databits command so you can view databits during a mission.
