The Steam Game Festival - We're in it!

Greetings, you garish ghouls and gassy groupies. In case you missed the news, the big Steam Game Festival is happening again! From February 3 to February 9, over 500 game demos and developer livestreams are being featured in the event, and that includes The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark! Dang, a demo! If you've been itching to get your hands on the sequel to The Darkside Detective, there's no better time than now. For a limited time, you'll be able to play a free demo for The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark, giving you a chance to dive into the spirit-soaked adventures of Detective McQueen before the full game launches later this year! And hey, if you're a streamer or YouTuber or TikToker or any other kind of -er and you decide to play the demo in a video or stream, tag us on Twitter @AkuparaGames and @SpookyDoorway and we'll share it with the whole spirit-sleuthing community.
Sweet, a dev stream! Naturally, the only thing better than getting to play the game is watching a bunch of the tired souls who made the game play it instead! On February 3 and February 6 we've got special developer livestreams happening here on Steam. You'll be able to catch some pixel-y sneak-preview goodness as we show off behind the scenes footage of the game, as well as special Code Coven gameplay walkthroughs with developers Traesa, Dave, and Paul!
For anyone who just tuned in, let me repeat - the Steam Game Festival runs from February 3 to February 9! We'll be showing off The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark all week, so if you want to fumble along with us, catch the event, hop in our Discord, and let's get ghosty. Whether you’re a returning player or brand new to town, Twin Lakes City has something for everyone.

Haven’t played Season 1? We understand. There’s a lot going on in the world, from Norway relocating to the moon to France going in reverse to Californian Krakens. You can’t play everything. And if Star Wars can start on Episode 4, why can’t you start here with Season 2? We have your back (which we’re not returning, by the way), so this season starts with a recap of everything you need to know from the previous game.

Season 2 is bigger, better, and 100% slimier than ever! A year after the “Motel Incident” of Season 1, we find our reliable Darkside Detective, Francis McQueen, picking up the pieces that left the Darkside Division’s dynamic duo as a slightly less-than-dynamic solo.

While the best line of defense against the unknown took a hit to their ranks, the Darkside’s ominous influence remains ever-present with the supernatural running amuck and the paranormal causing havoc around the completely (ab)normal city of Twin Lakes.

It’s time to brush up on the occult, bust out your signed copy of Guylight, and answer the age-old question, “Why does the moon always seemingly show up when something goes wrong?”

This brand new collection of comedic point-and-click adventures will see Detective McQueen in six new standalone cases as he investigates a creepy carnival, explores a retirement home, and even tries to unwind on a trip to “sunny” old Ireland…
