Hey everyone, It had come to my attention recently that the game wasn't launching correctly with the latest updates. Thankfully, I've discovered that the game still installs, and that the launch arguments were wrong on the Steam side. If you uninstall and reinstall the game to the latest v2.1.0 version, you should now be able to launch it properly. Otherwise, be sure to navigate to your Steam apps directory and look for the Unscripted folder to find the executable to launch it. My apologies on the oversight.

Hey folks , Happy summer! Its almost incredible that were just over halfway into 2021, and we are (arguably) much better than where we were now in 2020. During that time, Ive been working hard on a new feature release to the software developer-oriented visual novel that some may love or hate, and Im pleased to say that you can now get it today. Heres a small look at whats new with Unscripted:

• Adds support for distribution through the Snap store (i.e., Snapcraft).
• Introduces Candella fork of AliceOS with new features such as multiuser support and a new desktop shell.
• Updates RenPy SDK to v7.4.4 with multiple improvements.
• Enables model-based rendering for improved OpenGL effects such as blurring.
• Resolves an issue in the story bootstrapper where some Steam achievements were not properly registered.
• Resolves an issue where the desktop could be called prematurely on the main menu.
• Adds a brand-new maci minigame mode with GUI buttons (arrow keys, p, and r for shortcuts).
• Migrates text-based basic mode to new advanced mode.
• Deprecates Python-based coding experience for minigame.
• Updates graphics for QuickMail and Puzzles to support Candella design language.

Weve pushed out the first minor update for the full game, v2.0.2. Whats new:

• Resolves an issue where the Whats New screen crashed the main menu due to a missing file.

It is a pleasure and honor to tell you all that, after a year and a half of development, Unscripted has finally launched! I had no idea what I was exactly getting into when I first started making Unscripted. Initially, I had many plans for the plot, but I didn't necessarily plan out everything else for an indie game. Fast-forward to today, and I've done a lot for the game. With the choices and routes for this game, the minigame levels, and collaboration with artists like Raseruuu and music composer Marek Domagaa, Unscripted is far beyond what I imagined doing my summer job. Unscripted Release Candidate 2 (RC2) is now eligible for review/playthrough for streamers, reviewers, influencers, press, and developers. RC2 represents the stable build that players can expect when downloading the game Steam. For visual novel developers and/or modders, the corresponding Core bundle for RC2 represents the first stable version of the module and can be considered production-ready.
