Progress Update November
We hope you enjoyed your Halloween, even though it was different this year. We just wanted to make a quick update of what we have planned and been doing lately. So let's jump right in! Currently, we have a lot on the drawing board for Ducktopia. Some things are still just ideas, while other things are in the process of being fleshed out or implemented. To name a few ideas currently at the planning stage(all still in early stages, we won't promise all of these things will see the light of day):
The last update introduced building requirements in the form of the need to have either a building within a certain radius or just in the city. To upgrade or place a building. However, that was just a first pass containing only a few buildings supporting it. In the next update, we expect to expand this to more buildings! In short: More buildings will require specific things before they can be built or upgraded.
Just as with the building requirements, the latest update introduced storage limits into the game. So that you cannot just hoard all of the resources and be set for life. This will also get some touch-ups bringing more content and will become more balanced.
We wanted to give you some more to do while your city grows, so in the next update, we introduce missions. Households will request that you e.g. build a building close by or you maintain a happiness level for a certain period of time. If you accept and complete these missions they will reward you. This could be a boost to the happiness of the household or a monetary reward. However, declining or failing them will make them unhappy. Missions are still a work in progress, but we wanted to share a little peek of it! (This is not the final design)
With new things come new notifications, currently there are a lot of notifications in the game which can feel spammy and can be rather confusing, even for us. So we are creating a new notifications system! So to achieve this we plan to categorize the notifications. We even brought a small sneak peek!
We also wanted to bring some more variation into the map, so we have created water blocks! Which functions as ground blocks, but with water! These are blocks your ducks can swim through but you can't place anything on top of them as it would sink. So for now they don't have a use outside of cosmetics but hopefully, in the next update we'll expand on these! OH! I almost forgot! Look at these sneak-peaks of how they look, but it's our secret!
Of course, we haven't forgotten about Christmas! Therefore, we are currently working on updating all models (hopefully) making them more Christmassy. If you aren't into the Christmas vibes you can, just like with the Halloween models, disable/enable them in the Mods menu. Now, have a look at these glorious Christmas models!
And of course a host of bug fixes! Is there anything we have forgotten? Anything you would like to see? Or just want to hang out and chill? Feel free to join our discord at: https://discord.gg/J7eCHGA Quack quack Llama Softworks

Welcome welcome, everyone!
- Biomes Biomes would affect the production of resources so that a given resource might be better to produce in one biome over another one.
- More consequences for ducks without a job Currently, we are discussing making ducks turn to a life of crime to support themselves if they don't get paid enough welfare and have been without a job for a long time. Where you then would require police ducks to apprehend these criminal ducks and rehabilitate them.
- Natural disasters This hasn't been discussed much yet but would add a chance of disasters like floods or meteors, which would create an extra challenge.
More buildings with building requirements
The last update introduced building requirements in the form of the need to have either a building within a certain radius or just in the city. To upgrade or place a building. However, that was just a first pass containing only a few buildings supporting it. In the next update, we expect to expand this to more buildings! In short: More buildings will require specific things before they can be built or upgraded.
More buildings with storage
Just as with the building requirements, the latest update introduced storage limits into the game. So that you cannot just hoard all of the resources and be set for life. This will also get some touch-ups bringing more content and will become more balanced.
Missions
We wanted to give you some more to do while your city grows, so in the next update, we introduce missions. Households will request that you e.g. build a building close by or you maintain a happiness level for a certain period of time. If you accept and complete these missions they will reward you. This could be a boost to the happiness of the household or a monetary reward. However, declining or failing them will make them unhappy. Missions are still a work in progress, but we wanted to share a little peek of it! (This is not the final design)
New notification system
With new things come new notifications, currently there are a lot of notifications in the game which can feel spammy and can be rather confusing, even for us. So we are creating a new notifications system! So to achieve this we plan to categorize the notifications. We even brought a small sneak peek!
Waterblocks
We also wanted to bring some more variation into the map, so we have created water blocks! Which functions as ground blocks, but with water! These are blocks your ducks can swim through but you can't place anything on top of them as it would sink. So for now they don't have a use outside of cosmetics but hopefully, in the next update we'll expand on these! OH! I almost forgot! Look at these sneak-peaks of how they look, but it's our secret!

In Ducktopia you can:
- Shape the world just the way you want!
- Build up a city, that will keep your ducks happy (or angry, who knows?)
- Watch your unhappy ducks steal your duckeronies!
- Name every duck and building to whatever you would like!
- Help your ducks work at their preferable job and watch them walk around with worker outfits on.
Ducktopia is a game where you start out with an empty world. You are the creator, the artist, the mayor. You then lay out the ground, starting to create the world. With a Townhall placed you have started your very own city, that of course needs houses and workplaces to be able to flourish.
As your city grows bigger you'll reach milestones that unlocks new features and buildings to your city, which will help you grow the city big and self sustainable. While playing, you have to look out for the ducks happiness, and to maximize your production you'll have to make sure the right ducks work the proper places.
Name your buildings and ducks and zoom in to see them walk around with their small hats. Follow along as the ducks have conversations with each other. And take note of their traits and personalities.
