I went through the later levels and made sure that the asteroid fields were not giving any false positives. Let me know if you have any issues, but they should all be good.

I've fixed the strangeness with the level changes, there was a bug in the custom collisions with the asteroid fields. I'm still not 100% sure if it is a problem with the custom collisions in general (which would surprise me as the player uses them as well), or if there is a particular 'bad' one. For now I've rolled them back to rectangular collisions. There may be some areas which throw some false positives on a suit breach. I tried to fix as many as I could find that would defiantly throw it. If you find one, shoot me the level number and I'll get it fixed right away. I'm also going to do some more due diligence on the custom collision issue. Thanks for playing!

Update 1 Released

Update 1 has been released. It resolves 2 issues: 1. Level 2-4 had a bug with the portal not showing up 2. The level select screen would not take you to the right level If you encounter anything else please let me know!

Someone reported 2 bugs: 1. In level 2-4 the portal does not open after collecting the dark matter 2. If you use the level select option, it brings you to the most recent completed level instead of the one pictured. Bug 1 has been fixed. Working on Bug 2. Should have an update out later tonight.

Playtesting is always important. I've run through this game like 100 times over the past month, and today I was doing the final playtest this morning and found 2 small bugs. One dealt with achievements, and the other was a minor graphic issue. Both have been fixed, depots updated.

In Review!

A Long Way Home has officially been submitted for review. I spent a long time play testing the game on OS X, Windows and Linux, requiring more builds than I care to think about. But it's done. Very excited!

  • On day 200 of a 365 day mission your ship suffers a catastrophic engine meltdown. Stranded in space one hundred light years from Earth, you must make your way back one light year at a time. It's going to be a long way home.

    Jumping from asteroid to asteroid collecting enough dark matter to open the next portal is hard enough, even the tiniest miscalculation can end in death. When you start encountering explosive rocks, micro-comets and teleporting dark matter, things take a turn for the worse.

    Yes, this game started out on the iPad. The original game was a 1024x768 touch only game. In preparing for it's move to Steam the entire game was redesigned. Every piece of artwork was recreated at a higher resolution, the game was converted to widescreen, sound effects were re-recorded and the entire menu system was overhauled. This is not a port.
