You are a wonderful community and you helped us tremendously. We hope you'll enjoy the game even more with those bugfix! We read everything on the Steam community hub and on our Discord. We are a small team of three, it's nearly impossible to answer to all of you on every channel but know that we take everything you say into account.
Bugfix
- The tribe knowledge menu button is now correctly hidden in the campaign
- It is no longer possible to reset the current turn after a defeat
- Removed the AntiAliasing setting as it seemed to have close to no impact on performance and was causing issues with selection highlighting
- The cost of a building is correctly refunded if its construction is canceled after loading a game
- Buildings can no longer be destroyed multiple times at the same time, causing more than one notification for the same building
- Fire damage from buildings no longer incorrectly ignore the Stone Skinned trait
- Assigning a Pupil to a cell that has an available building and the caravan at the same distance will always assign the pupil to the building instead of the caravan
- The map generation should no longer generate a halt where you can't settle at all (cases, where you can settle but have to transform a lake into a bog, are still possible, always take a bit of wood with you!)
- The game is now saved when an encounter or sacred site effect is chosen, or when using the knowledge "Relooking"
- Positive Harmony can no longer cause a halt to have a negative number of vagaries, crashing the map generation
- Traits that were unlocked when "Overwork" happened are now unlocked by "Boredom"
- The cost of paths beyond the current halt no longer incorrectly display the added cost of "Damaged path" (this was only a visual bug)
- The death of a Pupil with a backpack correctly reduce the count of purchased backpacks, allowing to buy new ones for potential new Pupils
- After "Malfunction" the building hit is correctly usable again if repaired by any game effect
- Improved behavior of Pupils harvesting from an upgraded Pasture
- Refined resources are now correctly removed from their cell when harvested
- Assigning a Pupil to a cell no longer incorrectly display an "already exploited" message if the closest available building found in the building already exploiting this cell (this was only happening when multiple Pupils could work in the same building)
- The repair cost displayed on the repair action is no longer incorrectly lower than the actual repair cost
- Bonus experience from passionate or versatile can no longer interact with each other, giving way too much experience
- Bonus experience from passionate correctly gives experience in the base job before the specialization if the former is not already maxed out
- Assigning a Pupil to a Pasture or Dispensary in which a Pupil is already working no longer incorrectly says there is no exploitable resource
- The "Go to" button is now a "Stop" button on the cell the Pupil is currently in (to make it clearer that no movement will happen and that it is the correct way to unassign a Pupil)
- "Inedian" and "Stasis" traits correctly reduce the food consumption to 0 even if the Pupil is also Glutton (and any other cases where that issue could happen)
- Having multiple Passions is now working correctly (instead of only applying the first one)
- Images in texts now have the correct size in all resolutions
- Locks icons in the new game screen correctly refresh after winning a game, also added color to help differentiate them and a star when you have won with this tribe (like in the campaign)
- Path information is now available when both connected halts are known or one of the halt is submerged
- The caravan inventory screen no longer has buildings floating around
- Attempting to rename a Pupil in the middle of a turn no longer causes all Pupils name to disappear
- It is no longer possible to open the skill wheel of a dead Pupil by clicking on a notification
- Fixed two path names
- Fixed two icons in traits name
- "Simple-minded" and "Theoretician" are now mutually exclusive
- Fixed Reset turn button's tooltip
- Selecting a Farm in construction no longer causes the info panel to expand too much.
- Fixed an issue with random outcomes being inconsistent after loading a game
- Effects removing a halt can no longer create impossible journeys
Building Upgrades Balancing
- Bakery: the first upgrade now costs 200 / 400 KP ; the second upgrade now costs 30 ore 40 wool / 60 stone 80 wool, and reduces the wood consumption of this building by 50%.
- Cookhouse: the first upgrade now costs 200 / 400 KP ; the second upgrade now costs 30 stone 40 wool / 60 ore 80 wool, and reduces the wood consumption of this building by 50%.
- Farm: the first upgrade now costs 70 / 160 wood, and gives 15% preservation ; the second upgrade now costs 40 stone 40 ore / 70 stone 70 ore 40 wool and gives 35% preservation if the farm is near water.
- Fishery: first upgrade now costs 40 stone 40 wood / 80 stone 80 wood ; second upgrade now costs 200 KP 40 ore / 500 KP 80 ore, and gives 20% of fish gathered as extra rations.
- Harvest Hut: first upgrade now costs 70 wool 30 wood / 140 wool 60 wood ; second upgrade now costs 60 ore 70 stone / 120 ore 140 wool, and gives 20% preservation.
- Hunting Lodge: the first upgrade now costs 40 wool 80 wood / 120 wool 160 wood ; the second upgrade now costs 200 KP 40 stone / 500 KP 80 stone and gives 20% of venison gathered as extra rations.
- Mine: first upgrade now costs 40 wool 40 wood / 80 wool 120 wood ; second upgrade now costs 80 stone 80 wood / 120 stone 120 wool, and gives 25% preservation.
- Pasture: the first upgrade now costs 40 wood 20 stone 50 portions of cereal / 80 wood 40 ore 100 portions of cereal; the second upgrade now costs 70 wool 70 wood / 160 wool 160 wood and gives 10 KP/turn when a Pupil is working in this building.
- Quarry: first upgrade now costs 40 wool 40 wood / 80 wool 120 wood ; second upgrade now costs 80 ore 80 wood / 120 ore 120 wool, and gives 25% preservation.

Thank you for your support and above all for your feedback which has motivated us all weekend. We have heard and understood your comments, whether they concern difficulty, RNG or readability.
Our goal was to provide you quickly with a patch that would improve the balancing in particular.
We will take the time to work again on this to give you the best possible gaming experience. However, we wanted to address the most urgent remarks as quickly as possible as well, so here is a first balancing patch.
Patch Note #2
Vagaries Balancing:
- The Hidden Harmony stat will, from now on, have a much smaller impact and won't add as many Minor Vagaries. It will add / remove a few with a maximum cap.
- There are fewer Vagaries per halt overall.
- We have removed or remodeled minor hazards that are irrelevant or unfair. We will add more interesting hazards later but this remains subject to text translations and therefore requires a little more implementation time.
- Rodents removes 300 resources rather than leaving only 100 resources
- Overwork is removed
- Influential Nature is removed
- Amnesia now removes 500 Knowledge Points instead of 200
- Blaze and Wildfire have a maximum duration of 9 turns instead of 5.
- Damaged Path adds a resource to the path instead of increasing the amount of resources already needed by 20% (This can therefore increase the cost of a resource already requested).
- Rise of the waters can no longer occur less than 50 turns before the end of the halt
- Lightning now only deals 90 damage instead of 100
- Vagaries cancellation costs have been increased to level 2 (500 from 400) and 3 (800 from 500).
Journeys Balancing
We wanted the journey to present challenges, but we don't want it to lead to impossible situations.
- The diameter of the small halts has been increased by 1.
- Hovering the mouse over a more distant halt gives all the costs necessary to reach it.
- Reduced the cost of "Distribution" Caravan Knowledge from 600 to 300
- The forms of resources have been changed. Food resources are now L-shaped
Tribes Balancing
- One of the Northern Tribe members now has the "Healer" trait.
- Members of the Northern Tribe now consume only 2 wool in total per turn until the Caravan is installed
- 4 new "short game" tribes have been added. Winning each "short game" tribe unlocks each corresponding "long game" tribe and the next "short game" tribe.
Traits Balancing
Some traits are instant reset. Others are simply unnecessary or just unpleasant to play with.
- Eternal beginner: "This pupil can only have one specialized trade"
- The original Pupils of a tribe cannot have traits in common.
- Immortal: An immortal dies if no other non-immortal is alive in the tribe.
Other Balancing
- Hunger no longer makes Pupil ill. Careless error was too severely punished.
- We have added tips to the Travel Map. We thus hope to compensate - while waiting to improve our tutorial systems - the shortcomings of new players on the mechanics not explained in the tutorial. We cannot ask everyone to come to the discord / to go to a wiki to understand the basic mechanics of the game. These tips are currently only in French and English. We are working to have them translated as quickly as possible into all languages.
Readability and Quality of Life
- The background of the life bars is now white to improve contrast.
- The minimal camera zoom level has been decreased
- The last unit selected in the Trades Wheel menu is selected in-game when exiting the menu
Bug-Fixes
- The profession talent "Candied Fruits" no longer gives 100 peppers instead of removing them.
- F2 allows you to restart a game quickly
- The blinking bug on halts with Auras is fixed
- Multifunction no longer allows you to progress in expert trades
- The Caravan no longer needs to be put down for the trades requested in the paths to be validated.

In a few words, As Far As The Eye is a turn-based nomadic City Builder. To survive you have to harvest resources, build mobile buildings and travel to the center of the world. The map is generated procedurally. Every run is different and has different stakes.
As Far As The Eye was originally intended to be a game of exploration and survival where you have to face a wide range of wild beasts and monsters. Many things evolved throughout the production. Today it is a pacifist game in which your tribe, the Pupils, lives in harmony with nature. Here is the beautiful trailer that Pauline and Sarah made for the release. We wanted to highlight the fact that you have to travel and keep moving forward to escape the rising waters. Wake up, swell up and get up, Sigh. It is time to bring back to me the Pupils scattered throughout the world and to guide them. Do not worry, they will recognize you as soon as they feel your breath on their faces, as soon as they see their woolen clothes spinning, they will understand because they are waiting for you. Caress their feet, carry their bodies, lift their spirit and instill hope and perseverance in them.
Do not skimp on the gusts that will make them realize that the road is long and that it must continue, always, As Far As I.
You play as the wind guiding the Pupils, a tribe that must reach the center of the world. You’ll have to manage their resources, their buildings, and their lives. Help them grow wiser through agriculture, crafting, scientific and mystical research before the world is submerged. Be careful though, you have to manage your tribe perfectly and make sure they’re not starving or taken by surprise by the waters.
The game is a nomadic turn-based city builder. Begin a procedurally generated journey and survive halt after halt, as far as the Eye.
- Plan the best path for your tribe to take in order to go as far as the Eye.
- Explore, analyze and search places of interest for long lost treasures on a procedurally generated journey.
- Harvest, build, stock and leave your halt before the wave engulfs your tribe.
- Improve your pupils through the job system, your buildings through the improvement system and your whole tribe through Tribe's Knowledge.
- Survive dire conditions and protect the Pupils against random events.
- Meet allies, negotiate for resources, recruit new Pupils and more!
- Make offerings in Sacred Sites or plunder them, but never forget you'll have to bear the consequences of your actions.
- Live a peaceful adventure as there are no enemies in As Far As The Eye
- Relive a new adventure each time thanks to our Roguelike tribe system
- Tune your play session with games modifiers such as game duration, halt size, resources generation and more.
- Play the campaign to learn about A FATE's traditions and legends.
