[h3]First Ever First Dwarf Playtest[/h3]

And without further ado Today is a BIG day for us! If youve been following our Community Hub and our social media, you couldve heard about sign-ups for our Playtests. But in case you somehow didnt get the memo, dont worry! Put on your dwarven shoes anyway, because you can still join us! Just go to the Steam page of First Dwarf and click Request Access

[h3]Who will get access?[/h3]

Everyone who signed-up will participate! So no worries, it doesn't matter if you requested it right after our announcement, or even after the Playtest started, youll be able to play First Dwarf.

[h3]When does the Playtest start and end?[/h3]

Playtests are open from March 25th 3PM (UTC +1) to April 8th 3PM (UTC +1). Were going to give access to the game to everyone who signed-up. In this time window, you can still request access to the game. After April 8th, the Playtests will be closed, gamers will lose their access to the game, but there is a possibility of a second round in the future.

[h3]What exactly is the Playtest and why are we organizing it?[/h3]

Steam Playtest is a wonderful feature that lets us give access to the game to the players who are willing to try it out in its current state. Our main reason for this, is willingness to receive as much feedback as we can, before launching the final game. We believe that the thoughts and opinions of our community will help us shape the game together and create something truly brilliant. We deeply care about this project, as its related to our first game, Driftland: The Magic Revival, and we are over the moon that we have the opportunity to expand this magical world even further. Thats why we need YOUR HELP!

We highly encourage you all to leave us your feedback, even if its just a few words (but the more you say, the better, of course!). You can do it in our First Dwarf Discord server, which we already upgraded with special channels for the Playtest. If you already are on our Discord, you know that its really fun there!



We added two new channels specifically for this event:

playtest-feedback - thats the place where you can tell us EVERYTHING you want after you played our game. Positive and negative feedback, all of that is welcome. You can tell us about the smallest things, regarding music, characters, dialogues, mechanics, systems, bugs Every topic is a good topic, as long as its related to the First Dwarf Playtest. We cant wait to chat with you about your experiences with our title!

opt-in-credits - here you can read the steps of what to do, to be included in our games credits! Its a little thank you from us, for all your help. By leaving your invaluable feedback, youre becoming an important part of our big adventure! Youll find there the link to the form we prepared earlier, where youll be able to drop your nickname. No offensive names of course, those wont be included.

Probably the fastest way to report a bug is located directly in the game. An automatic save file is also attached to the report you make (but you won't see it, so don't panic!), so we have the best understanding of the issue. However, keep in mind that we wont be able to respond to you there. We will receive the information, but to hear back from us or to engage in conversation, its best to use Discord.

We made a pinned thread in the Steam Discussions titled Playtest Bug Reports , where you can report your bugs from the Playtest.

If youre not sure how to phrase whats in your mind, we prepared a simple form to fill, which may help you transfer your thoughts into words and inspire you in terms of what to be aware of while playing. After leaving your feedback, you can also write your preferred name to be put in the credits there, its optional.

Please have in mind that the game is still in progress and so are the languages, so translations may have some mistakes. We apologize for that. They are in beta version, and will be improved with time. You can change the language in the games menu options! Texts and dialogues can also be altered later, if necessary.

Youll be playtesting an introduction to our game, First Dwarf. Take on the role of Tru, chosen to be the First Dwarf and his sassy dragon companion Ragna. Your mission is to build a new colony on the freshly discovered island, but first, you need to make sure that the area is safe to inhabit. Gather resources, build your base and fortify your colony, before the evil monster wave attacks! Fight your enemies by placing defensive turrets and engaging in direct combat. Complete your quests and send the raven to the awaiting dwarves, so they can arrive at their new home. Will you and your people survive in this new environment?

Hello everyone!

The year 2022 is now a melody of the past.
We would like to thank all of you guys for supporting us since day one!

Without further ado - lets check out what happened in our camp during the second half of 22. Lets go!

[h2] First Dwarf (...and some gaming events here and there! )[/h2]

In case you missed it - First Dwarf is our upcoming Action RPG set in the world of Driftland. Thats why you can read about it on Driftland: The Magic Revival Steam card.

Youll be able to pet a good boi in the game. Mhm. Thats right!



Now, lets talk about the asymmetrical co-op that were implementing in First Dwarf.



In co-op, players will be able to take control over the mech or one of its pilots: Tru or Ragna. Each of them has its own, separate skills to develop and upgrade. All characters have their strengths and weaknesses so its important to choose the characters wisely when preparing to complete certain tasks.

In a single-player game, the player can switch between characters, completing tasks with the one with better skills in a given field. Tru, Ragna, and the Mech will have different skill trees. Tru will be a better Mecha pilot, Ragna can e.g. fly, and the Mech can be treated as a kind of armored vehicle, so without a pilot it will not work.



Its important to say that implementing the asymmetrical co-op would not be possible without the Game Prototype Design Competition 2022 in which we were awarded!



The competition mentioned above helped us create some new mechanics for First Dwarf. Those mechanics evolved into a full-fledged, asymmetrical co-op mode of the game, which we implemented in its build! Once again, thank you to the co-organizers of the competition: Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, Centrum GovTech Poland, and CRPK, as well as Copernicus Game Jam 2022 - during which the diplomas were handed over and everyone who supported us along the way.

We showed our upcoming action RPG at many gaming events, both digital and held in real places. Just to name a few:
- PAX West;
- Pozna Games Arena (PGA);
- Indie Cade;
- DreamHack Beyond Indie Showcase;
- MIX Next 2022;
- Dev.Play;
- #PitchYaGame.

Its time to focus on 3 of them.

Lots of you came to our booth to check out an early build of our game. Thank you for that! See you next year!

Your reactions surpassed our expectations, and the feedback provided will certainly influence the further development of the game, already at this stage. It was 4 days full of interesting conversations, laughter and a unique atmosphere created by countless players, cosplayers, journalists, or industry representatives.



[h2] Second stop - Pozna Games Arena (PGA).[/h2]

In Pozna, we were showing First Dwarf, Scorchlands, Brewpub Simulator, and Lumencraft. PGA was such a blast! We felt your enjoyment brought to your faces by our upcoming games. Just look at Kuba, one of the members of our team - his smile does not lie



[h2] The last stop - Dev.Play.[/h2]

Its a yearly celebration of indie games and their developers. Game creators from all over the world come to Bucharest to present their titles and experiences. The event ended with an award gala. First Dwarf received 3 awards: Best Game of the Show, Best Visuals, and Most Popular Game. Thank yall!



To wrap up the First Dwarf chapter of this recap we want to write about the key role of our IGN - Exclusive Announcement Trailer posted on IGNs YouTube channel was viewed more than 285k times. There are also more than 5.4k thumbs up under the video!

[h2] Scorchlands[/h2]

At this point, we can say that developers from Ringlab are aiming for publishing more Steam News about in-game mechanics. When were writing these words, three of them are available as we speak: How the protagonist Giwi hatched, How to build your colony, and Gameplay Insight #1: Summoning the Nexus.

Stay tuned ! More of them will be published during January and February of 2023.

Also, the game received a warm welcome during #TurnBasedFest 2022!

[h2] Lumencraft[/h2]

The full release of this unique mix of a top-down shooter with base building and roguelike mechanisms is just around the corner! Nonetheless, were not spoiling the release date at the moment. Thats not the only great news - something big is coming to the game. We bet you werent expecting this. Jump on the hype train, but stay calm. For now, lets go down. Together.



The developers from 2Dynamic Games are constantly tweaking and upgrading the games build. You can help them by completing the survey they made - well be very grateful for the feedback! Its called Discord survey, because the games community was the first one to answer the questions mentioned in it.

One of the most important moments during the Early Access of Lumencraft was taking a different approach to the game's build. The experimental update published a few months ago left the beta stage. It's now living its new life - the developers called it Giga Update.

Lumencraft is reshaping every once in a while - two bigger updates and one smaller update were released since the release of Giga Update. Theres a lot of fresh content in the game - you should play it now, especially if you spent some time with Lumencraft a few months ago. It truly is worth revisiting!

[h2] Brewpub Simulator[/h2]

There was a first, official playtest of the game - were glad how many of you decided to check out what its like to run a virtual pub and brew some virtual ale! A playable build of the game was presented to European audiences for the first time during PGA 2022. Thanks for playing it, we know what works and what needs some tweaking here and there!

This is a project that we announced last year - a lot of things happened along the way. The games currently in Early Access, whats more - feel free to download the demo version and see how much stuff was added, tweaked and re-shaped since the start of EA. Lumencraft looks great, runs smoothly, and feels just like we imagine it - its a little tricky and spooky. Whats more, if you own a Steam Deck - this is definitely a game you want to try on this handheld.

Hello everyone,

you probably wonder why theres a graphic with a screen taken from the Nintendo Switch version of Danger Scavenger. The answer is simple - we wanted to make an announcement summarizing our work done between January and July of 2022 - when were writing these words, Driftland is still our most popular franchise.

Unfortunately, nothing really happened during this period in Driftland camp. Nonetheless, you can get the game in many discounts that pop up every once in a while (usually during Steam/GOG offers/events). But, yknow, theres always something cookin. Be patient.

Danger Scavenger

Thats where the fun starts. First of all - were flattered that DS is featured on the back of the Atari VCS box. Ta-da!



When Steam Deck was on its way, we did everything to make sure that the game would run perfectly on the second handheld from day one. After that, we received an official Steam Deck verification in May. Speaking about the first handheld, just a reminder - Danger Scavenger is available on PC, PS4, XONE, Switch, VCS and XSX.

Were always looking for new ways of approaching the titles that we already published. When we started talking with the Tilt Five team, we knew that their Holographic Gaming System would be a great place for a skyscraper-based roguelike. Thats why we made a dedicated DLC to bring the catchphrase a new level of the 3D vibrant holographic environment" to DS rooftops!





Lumencraft

When devs from 2Dynamic Games started the playtests, we were convinced that approx. 200 people will check out the game during the two weeks of that phase. Well, there were 1312 participants. The feedback submitted by playtesters gave us a new perspective on the game. We knew that we chose the right project for publishing.

The Lumencraft section of this Steam announcement will be the longest one, because the games still in Early Access and currently its a project no. 1 in our catalog.

After the first week of EA we reached the 20k copies milestone. None of us expected that this will happen so fast, so Kuba Wjcik came up with a meme idea.



We wont share how many copies were sold, but we can say that as the indie publishers - were satisfied.

Today, exactly 3 months after the start of Early Access (which happened April 13th, 2022) we would like to thank everyone who wrote a review on Steam. The numbers speak for themselves.



During the playtests, 2Ds organized the MAKE A MAP, WIN A PRIZE contest. 10 maps were published via Steam Workshop - 3 guys won Danger Scavenger and Driftland: The Magic Revival Steam keys. The ideas behind the contest were continued in the Maps Shootout series. When were writing these words there are 123 maps submitted to the Workshop.

Lots of them are truly pieces of art that reshape Lumencrafts gameplay. The summary of all Maps Shootouts installments can be found in our Stories highlights on our Instagram.

Whats more, the game was shown at this years:
- European Game Showcase during GDC;
- PAX East;
- Digital Dragons .


To this day, the 2Dynamic Games team is working closely with the games community. When Early Access starts (after the playtests), the developers published:
- 3 hotfixes;
- 4 small updates;
- two major updates;
- and were pretty much sure we forgot about something.

They added new weapons, buildings, monsters, maps and scenarios, textures, new UI, and fixed A LOT. Lumencraft is now more approachable to semi-casual players, but it does not collide with the hardcore players - there are extremely hard maps available to enjoy (or suffer a bit).

We did not say our last words about the Danger Scavenger evolution. The question how we can make our games even more immersive is a recurring thought inside the team we often brainstorm about it, looking for the answers.

Speaking about Danger Scavenger
What could we do to elevate the gameplay of the game that takes place on the skyscraper rooftops?

Then, the possibility of doing something together with the Tilt Five team came to the table. A three-piece Tilt Five Holographic Gaming System seemed like a fantastic opportunity to bring our beloved roguelike, Danger Scavenger, to a new level. The catchphrase "a new level of the 3D vibrant holographic environment" sounds intriguing and inspiring, right?

So, we realized that its time to make a dedicated DLC!



Today marks the day of its premiere. Danger Scavenger AR - Tilt Five Edition brings a whole new perspective, a fresh approach, and new ways of playability to the game.

Trick or treat? - Update Notes 2.0.8

Dear Scavengers!
Its hard to believe that we celebrate another Halloween together. Time flies so fast!

This year we're not only celebrating our favourite spooky holiday, but we're also picking up the fight against AI on new fronts! On October 29, Danger Scavenger will also become available on Xbox One and PlayStation4 !

Now, lets dive into the details!

Trick or Treat!
First of all, take a look at patch notes for this update:

Added Halloween decorations and particles (they will be there till November 7th!)

Optimizations:
- optimized enemies: their spawning, attacks, AI decision making
- optimized explosions and area effects
- further optimized destruction of the environmental objects

Bug fixes:
- quickly restarting the game a couple of times would cause a massive frame drop
- when too many projectiles were on the screen, it would sometimes cause the controller to de-sync and auto walk in some random direction.

Our friends from 2Dynamic need help! So we came here to share with you some wonderful news about the upcoming game - Lumencraft. Now, lets dive into it.



AI has outdone itself and created a portal to another dimension where humanity is struggling without electricity and light. What a wicked world it is!

Scavengers of that world fight with their enemies under the ground and collect crystals called Lumen. We have come into possession of tape from this strange dimension. Lets listen!

The year 2221. The planet's surface became uninhabitable over a century ago. Today, we - the remains of humanity - struggle to survive without electricity and light. Dreams of a better future died a long time ago, but a recently discovered mineral brought a spark of hope. Lumen - crystal of high energy potency can be the last chance for our struggling civilization. This mineral can drastically increase the odds of our survival. We have sent Scouts, our brave miners, under the ground. Its almost impossible to survive there, but we dont have much choice. A settlement was built near the estimated deposits of Lumen. It may sound pretty simple. Just dig and collect, but no one came back from there so far. New Scouts keep trying and I believe one of them will save us. If they succeed, I will record more tapes. If they fail Well, there wont be any energy to do so nor will there be anyone to listen to this.

Update 2.0.7: Hello Steam China! Big optimizations & new localization



Star Drifters and Piotr Wolk are proud and excited to present a new update with which the game becomes officially available on Steam China!

The update introduces a lot of very significant performance improvements as well! And the long awaited new localization!

Therefore, we are very happy to announce our cooperation with Doyoyo Games! Their professional team, which consists of avid gamers, will be responsible for publishing Danger Scavenger in China.

Together, we worked very hard towards the release on Steam China. The Chinese players will soon see the following changes:

Update 2.0.6 - Interface Hacks



Hello Rebels!

Here we come yet again with another portion of fixes. These who were stuck on the loading screen are free at last. Effectiveness of the weapons you used has been corrected as well .

Thanks to you yet again we were able to hack in some serious improvements. We owe you a debt of gratitude. Without you, this liberation effort would not be as successful. Just check out these :

Changelog:

  • Fixed the infamous freeze on the loading screen
  • Fixed UI hearts not reflecting the actual health status
  • Fixed issue with adding item bonuses after loading the game (it resulted in wrong additional health bonuses etc.)
  • Fixed the "Accept" button clicking issue with the workshop
  • Fixed wrongly placed characters in the hub after completing the building
  • Fixed descriptions of upgraded items; the bonus stats were being added properly, but description sometimes showed non-upgraded stats
  • Fixed Flamethrower not always damaging very close enemies
  • Option to enable/disable the slow-mo cutscene after destroying last robot on the current floor
  • Slightly boosted weapons: Plasma Revolver, Revolver, Blaster Pistol
  • Slightly bigger HUN-73R's dash distance

Update 2.0.4 - Spring Cleaning



Scavengers!

The Spring is here for good and with it the long-awaited respite. We bring a bunch of long-awaited improvements, much of which would not come if it was not for your invaluable involvement .

Do not be afraid! Thanks to our hacker-work your well-earned co-op mode items are finally safe. Also, you will not be lost in the dreadful void of the black screen anymore .

That said, we yet again want to make it clear that we are constantly open to your continued reports on newfound bug discoveries or ingenious development ideas. Because of you the game is able to improve and expand .

Bug fixes:

  • Co-op: Exiting the mode no longer means losing the items by the second player
  • Hardcore Mode: Fixed problems with loading the character after pressing Quick Restart
  • The game no longer hangs on a black screen after starting
  • New Game+: Fixed the issue with opening the workshop in Hub if the player had more than 20 items
  • Co-op: No more animation hangs when both players got on the motorcycle at the same time
  • Co-op: Removed the crafting hearts generation exploit
  • Removed the crafting attack speed bonus exploit
  • Small fixes in displaying workshop descriptions
  • "Boombox" should now scale with floors
  • "Messmaker" got nerfed
Quality of life changes:
  • Movement buttons can be now reassigned to aid the users with non-QWERTY keyboard layout
  • "Fullscreen Windowed" is now the default display setting
  • After pressing "Exit To Hub" there is now a popup window asking for the confirmation
  • Prices of items sold were re-balanced - it was too easy to obtain way too large amounts of money

Bugfixes


  • On rare occasions your character couldn't return back after falling from the rooftop
  • Alt-tab in the loading screen sometimes caused the loading to freeze
  • Having excessive amount of "Discount!" items resulted in negative prices. Now the discount is capped at maximum of -70%


New graphics options

  • 3 display modes: Fullscreen, Fullscreen windowed, Windowed. You can choose the one that suits you best!
  • V-Sync toggle (is on by default on Ultra quality)


Optimizations

  • Better memory management - results in overall better FPS through the whole game session
  • Optimized some 3d models - they are less GPU-heavy now

We are pleased to bring you the latest update 2.0.0, which brings many features and improvements that we have been working on over the past months, and thus the game has reached Beta status. We expect it to be a serious release candidate :-)

Update 1.9.8

Dear Scavengers, Hackers, Rebels, and Cyber-Nomads!

The last weeks of work have been very intense and fruitful for Danger Scavenger...
A large part of the work was related to the creation of console versions of the game for Nintendo Switch and the soon debuting Atari VCS.

Thanks to this, the game has gained a lot of optimization, which results in the PC version of lower hardware requirements, greater smoothness of operation, and better-looking graphics at each level of graphics settings.

The gameplay itself has been smoothed out and got a lot of small improvements and adjustments to boost the overall experience of the game.

:1scoreSD: improvements:


  • performance optimization of many aspects of the game incl.: post-processes, models, particles, etc.
  • each of the graphics settings is more optimal and at the same time has gained in graphics quality
  • enemy missiles are visually more varied and more visible
  • better controller support incl. navigation in the HUD (e.g. in the workshop window)
  • it is no longer possible to eliminate enemies outside the screen and the line of sight with impunity. In such cases, they will not remain defenseless and will attack the player even if it is out of their sight

  • after winning Arcade Mode, the entire inventory was not saved, but only 3 items and weapons (as if the player died)
  • projectiles reflected by melee weapons were time incorrectly rotated
  • the boss did not attack the player when he was at a long distance
  • enemies increase their attack range when they take damage

Halloween is behind us! However, we are still working on providing you with the best roguelike game. In this update we introduced a couple of features and hotfixes that will improve gameplay.

  • More challenging game, a higher level of difficulty with every subsequent building
  • During the fight with the boss on the Diesel and Military towers, health kits are less frequent,
  • Improved readability: less dazzling some lights and particles, better colors for some attacks of the robots, the color difference between player and robots area effects (fire, acid, electric) so that it is not confusing
  • More balanced multipliers of DMG bullets from perks (sawblade, sticky grenade, cluster grenade)


Bugfixes: :GreenBug:

  • Fixed bug with an enemy that is impossible to eliminate,
  • Fixed game crashing bug,
  • The curse (daemon) sometimes displayed wrong ending conditions after save & quit

With Halloween just around the corner, instead of candy, we've prepared a massive update for our players with two new characters, weapons, items, and many other improvements.

At the same time, the Scavengers decorated their base taking care of the right mood, and there are rumors that bats have invaded here and there.

You'll see it all for yourself in a moment so that we won't extend it any further, and let's move on to the content of Halloween Update 1.9.666.

Have you ever wondered who will join our team? Thanks to Halloween, we found out which new heroes have visited the Scavengers. Please, welcome to Echo and Professor!

Professor - The most experienced Scavenger. Uses knowledge and technology to fight evil. Can fly in the air for short durations and has a Utility Drone that accompanies him on his quest.



Echo - Very agile and smart Scavenger. She can hack enemies to fight on her side. She can throw a teleporter, which lets her move over huge distances quickly.



The new scavengers took a lot of scrap with them, but they also have interesting gifts. You will find new weapons and super items in them. What they look like:

Dear Scavengers,

The latest update brings additional improvements for all melee weapons and to the selected guns. We also have a little surprise for all Keiko fans :Refrain_Rabbit:

  • When you have a melee weapon, your Scavenger will be faster,

  • We've added deflecting projectiles, and it's possible to play explosive badminton using a frying pan and grenades!
  • When you use a melee weapon, you will see new graphics effects,
  • The melee attack has a bigger range,

- fixed an error that caused a drastic drop in FPS after a player's death,
- fixed a bug in connection with a quick reboot, which caused a return to the wrong building,
- fixed a mistake that caused robots from other levels to appear on the player level,
- fixed a bug in the correct allocation of The Curse System,
- improved the HUD: we have added a panel of saved items for both players (in the summary window in Arcade Mode),
- prepared the playing of two gamepads. Earlier the first player could only play on the keyboard and mouse,
- we've improved the control on the gamepad in the workshop,
- fixed a bug in which the other player couldn't pick up items from chest and secrets,
- fixed the bug with the resurrection of the player. Now the second player appears in the right place,
- improved and adjusted the balance of robots and weapons,
- improved the camera's performance.

As we mentioned in the previous update, Gamescom Online starts next week. On the Indie Arena Booth stand, you will find Danger Scavenger!

We have improved the display of information about the levels on the map.

Update Notes 1.3.0 - The Power of Surprise

[h3]The power of surprise cannot be overestimated.[/h3]

In the last 6 updates, we focused on improving and adding new features to the single-player gameplay. However, one of the most important problems remained unresolved - the generic shape of the levels, which are generated completely randomly, which made them erm... let's put it this way - less exciting. Until today :-)

In this update, you will find many new features that will diversify the gameplay, make the levels appealing, and will often surprise you. Levels still generate randomly, but we've changed the way they are generated, which now creates lots of surprising shapes, holes, and branches. At the same time, each skyscraper gained its own personality. Let's get straight to the point:

:loottreasure: Secret Rooms

There are many new surprises waiting for you on the rooftops, but from now on they will also be waiting to be discovered below the surface. Please focus because you may miss the entrance that will give you a full backpack of the precious stuff. This feature is still in Work in Progress but we're sure you'll like it already.

:tbrick: The new look of the generated levels

We have prepared a completely new look for all levels. Of course, we still keep the spirit of the roguelike games, and each level is generated randomly. Only this time, we focused on making more interesting shapes that add variety and smoot gameplay to the game.

:Workforce: Improving look and layout of objects

Along with the new look of the generated levels, we also focused on improving the appearance of the props.

To speed up the whole game, we have added a unique speed boost when the player eliminates all opponents on each level.

:paintbrush: Graphics improvements

Responding to many opinions about the repetitiveness of the levels, we have prepared many new graphic improvements that will allow you to see more differences between each skyscraper. You will find new elements of the environment, a more transparent look of the floor on the Oriental skyscraper, and the variety of the whole Diesel skyscraper.

  • we've improved the response time attack of the turrets,
  • when the character has a full life, the first-aid kits remain unused,
  • in the Hacking Room, enemies appear more often and over a larger area

  • Fixed incorrectly saved/stored items in the equipment,
  • Barrels don't appear in the walls
  • Minor HUD improvements
  • Fixed items cloning bug
  • Gameplay optimization and fixes (e.g., less frequent physics refreshing, more optimal search in AI)
  • Balance of difficulty levels and prices in the shops
  • Smoother movement of selected objects (drones, enemies)
  • Fixed camera during a player falls off a skyscraper
  • Godlike achievement fixed and added new achievement unlocked after finding a secret room
  • Fixed the black screen error caused by pressing the alt + TAB button combination


Later this month, the following updates will come: the Curse system, some new animations, a co-op update, New Game+ in Hardcore mode, and Leaderboards.

In this update, we've set a goal to improve your gaming experience. Therefore, we focused on the most important aspects that you mentioned in the feedback: improving the performance and smoothness of the game, fixing bugs, tuning, and adjusting game parameters. Let's get straight to the point:

SMOOTH scrolling


  • New camera support with improved interpolation for smooth scrolling regardless of framerate
  • Optimization of 3D objects and physics increasing the number of frames per second

game MODE selection
If you played version 1.1.1 or later to use the new game mode selector, hit ESC and then select: "Reset Game Mode" option.


fewer FLOORS in skyscrapers
We are testing fewer floors so that you can progress faster in the game. We have received a lot of feedback from you that there are too many levels on a single skyscraper. We tend to set the current number of levels or the increasing number of levels as the game progresses.

Update 1.1.0 - New Game Modes, in-game crafting, and more!

This update changes everything!
[h3]Your feedback motivated us to work hard, introduce significant changes, and improve the game to use its great potential, which you often wrote about.[/h3]
First of all, we introduced two game modes. No matter which one you choose, both bring a lot of changes to the game. Arcade - for twin-stick shooter lovers and Hardcore for roguelike enthusiasts. The first gives fast, dynamic gameplay in which the player increases his abilities and arsenal in each subsequent run. The second mode ... just doesn't forgive mistakes :-)

ARCADE mode
For twin-stick shooter lovers


  • Upon death, the player keeps the top 3 items, currently used weapon, and scrap
  • Pick-ups don't disappear over time
  • The player attracts all pickups once the level is cleared

  • Unlocked characters start from different buildings


HARDCORE mode
For roguelike enthusiasts

  • Lose everything upon death
  • Pick-ups disappear over time
  • The order of the buildings is the same regardless of the character selected


in-game WORKSHOPS
From now on, you don't have to go through the entire skyscraper to upgrade your weapons or items. Workshops located at selected levels allow crafting during the mission.

easier to DESTROY props
No more bothersome breaking through objects on the roofs. With this update, one melee blow does the trick

Skyscrapers gain more of their own characteristics
We have started work on a more diverse generation of individual skyscrapers so as to further diversify their characteristics. The first visible effect in this update is the different landing levels at the beginning of the mission. However, this is only the beginning of changes in this direction. The next ones will come in the next updates.

  • the pickups could not be picked up when you had to mouse over the tooltip
  • improved camera smoothness - work in progress (we'll optimize game more soon)

  • minor bug fixes

Patch notes 1.0.3

Hey Scavengers!

In this small patch, we've fixed the following issues:

Bug fixes:
- resolution setting - in some cases the resolution would set to default after restarting the game
- tutorial texts showing in wrong situation - saving key bindings just after the tutorial would cause all of the tutorial texts to display

Changes:
- easier unlocks - we have lowered the amount of points needed to unlock stuff for each character

New Alert Scavengers! Support us!

Dear Scavengers,

Sometimes you need to take one step back, in order to go two steps forward. Creating Danger Scavenger we wanted to provide you the best roguelike game that we would like to play.

Unfortunately, after the release, it turned out that almost half of the players have different expectations about our project. Not all of the decisions we made proved to be the right solution. Some of them made us closer to a twin-stick shooter, and we have a lot of players who don't like the system known from roguelike games.

On the other hand, we have received a lot of valuable feedback from our community, which showed us that our game can evolve. That's why we decided that Danger Scavenger will be further developed with you - our great community, so we decided to switch to Early Access. Now every player can influence how our game will eventually look like. It was not an easy decision - Danger Scavenger is a project of my life, which was previously created as Turbo Island Purger. Cooperation with Star Drifters allowed me to expand it with many new mechanics, which were not planned before. That is why we are very keen to provide you with a project that you will be happy.

We are entering Early Access with a fully playable game. Our goal is to introduce an improvement and additional mechanics to satisfy two groups of players: roguelike fans and twin-stick shooter fans. Seemingly it is a difficult task, that's why we want to offer the possibility of choosing the game mode: roguelike or arcade (which is currently missing) and refining the balance of both modes. Also, it turned out that crafting, which we thought was a nice addition, is very important for players who from the very beginning of the game would like to be able to improve their items and weapons. That is why we would like to introduce frequent updates and be open to the ideas of our community, which honestly inspired us to move to early access.

This will be short but intensive early access. The full version will be released no later than the console version before the end of 2020. Because we have a lot of mechanics already pre-prepared, we assume that by the end of August 2020 the game will have a set of new features, and we will develop nuances together with the community gameplay and additional content.

We decided to expand the game with:


  • two game modes to choose from: arcade and roguelike
  • new game + in roguelike mode
  • leaderboards
  • workshops for crafting while playing on skyscrapers
  • diversifying level shapes
  • curse system
  • secrets
  • new content (items, weapons, etc.)
  • optimization

We need to have as close contact with our players as possible. We will be at the players disposal on Steam Community, Discord, and social media (Facebook & Twitter).

We would like to grant access to the development branch to the most engaged players who express such a desire. The public version will also be updated very often, but we will try to always be a complete game.

Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize to those who had problems with the game.

We thoroughly analyze all feedback and reviews to draw conclusions and improve the game. It is very important to us because our goal is to make every player enjoy more gameplay. We put a lot of heart into the creation of Danger Scavenger, and we are sure that we will be able to improve the game so that everyone can share this joy with us.

Therefore, we are preparing a major update, which will be available in a few days, but until then, we will publish the bug fixes.

  • game settings - the game saves settings upon exit including resolution and key bindings
  • Incorrectly saved player score used for unlocks - returning to the game sometimes reset the accumulated player score needed for unlocks
  • incorrectly counted buildings - some achievements were not awarded due to incorrectly counted building passes
  • camera and deaths in cooperation mode - fixed in co-op
  • display mode change crash - in rare cases it could cause a crash
  • settings reset - in rare cases settings could back to the defaults itself
  • 'items count exceeded' popup on a motorbike - it could happen after save & quit & continue until open the workshop window
  • minor gfx bugs on levels - fixed
  • peaceful Biotech boss - sometimes the boss on the roof of the Biotech skyscraper did not attack the player
  • "Clumsy - fall from rooftop 10 times" achievement fixed
