Panic Mode is exhibiting at the Indie Area at gamescom in Cologne this year. It's been fantastic to see people in person and naturally our to-do list is filling up with feedback and suggestions. To celebrate all the input and feedback, Panic Mode is now discounted at 70% until gamescom is over!
If you're in the area be sure to stop by and say hi to the team, we'd love to hear from you!
Thanks to everyone for the feedback since the bigger update this summer! In the spirit of making more frequent smaller updates going forward, here's a few things we've been working on.
----------------------------
[previewyoutube=87ahgnHjmNk;full][/previewyoutube] Human interns have requested significant changes to the Pampermpel Safety System.exe software, the corporate issued remote login application that allows earthlings to build safety protocols to save employees on another planet - find below some changes: -More properties have been built and require evacuation protocols (new levels, like) - Initial safety management training has been improved (revised tutorial) - Pampermpel Industries now produces new consumer products and resources:
[previewyoutube=87ahgnHjmNk;full][/previewyoutube] There seems to be an incoming transmission from Pampermpel Industries! keep in mind there tends to be about 48 hours of interplanetary delay given the proximity of their planet to Earth. Or, less cryptically, a new update for the game is set to release this week watch this space!
Its been a while since our last update and were excited to talk a bit more about what were working on - here's what we have in store for you for one of the upcoming updates:
Interior walls and objects (and pammies) will soon be able to get exploded by certain items. Who needs to strategically plan escape routes when you can blast open a few walls?
Crisis employees will soon be able to zoom, rotate, and pan to get a better look at the situations.
Confused about which item does what thing, about how to reset items, or about existence in general? Were working on answering some of those questions with a totally new tutorial.
Also in the works is a cool new element - Ice forms when water freezes (who knew?) causing blocked paths or stopping Pammies in their tracks.
Theres a world of difference (sorry) between our old and upcoming world maps:
Shinier buttons and colours, highlighting things, and some general refinements are also on the way.
Were making use of the new mechanics to develop new accident-prone situations.
Upcoming improvements to the game's aesthetic include new room decor and outfits along with some improvements to the heat vision and such.
Whats that? Who knows. In any case this is apparently a very handy thing to do to prepare ourselves for future goals like enhancing objective progression or potentially a level editor.
We've had a list of things to tidy up that hopefully won't grow too big during the next phases of testing.
We'll roll out some of the updates in late January pending tester feedback.
Finally a big thanks for the support and feedback throughout the development so far, the feedback from our earliest builds right through to recent playtests has helped us make much better decisions during task planning which will hopefully result in a much better experience. If youre interested in becoming a beta tester or to let us know your feedback we'd love to hear your from you on our discord here:

We noticed that for some players some walls looked like they were made of aluminum foil. This was due to a faulty texture and was now corrected.
Greetings employees of Pampermpel Industries,
Thanks for taking a look at our game - the feedback we've received so far has helped refine the direction. We know what we're showing is very, very early although based on the success of the feedback thus far we've decided to open the project up to community earlier than originally planned. The major points we're taking on board before the Early Access Alpha is that the difficulty needs to be higher and a few UI tweaks - do let us know your feedback or ideas either in the survey or below!
We're approaching the finish line in preparing our Early Access Alpha version (July 9), which we hope will give a better feeling for what the game is about at the moment rather than the more technical/gameplay oriented demo. The improvements between the demo version and the early access version are as follows:
