Franchise News: How Realpolitiks 3 Expands the Horizons of War & Demo Incoming

We have excellent news for you today, as the new instalment of our franchise, Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond will have a free demo available as part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest, from October 14! Therefore you will soon get to experience all the improvements it brings to the established Realpolitiks series systems. Some of the biggest changes are coming to the warfare mechanics, and we have prepared a detailed devlog discussing the changes.
Suffice to say, not only will you be able to fight on land or in the air, but your military and reconnaissance activities in orbit and even on the surface of other planets will be just as important on your path to total Solar System domination!

Realpolitiks II Update Live and More News about the Franchise!

Greetings, world leaders! We have amazing news for you today: Thanks to our work on the new sequel, Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond, we have been able to incorporate some of the newly developed tools and technologies to Realpolitiks II, fixing a major issue that we have not been able to address before - the dreaded time-freeze bug. This will prevent any new occurrences of the bug, but if your game has already been affected by it, you may unfortunately have to load an earlier save or start a new game, as not every save file will be fixed. Besides squashing this major bug, we looked into minor rebalancing of AI and other small fixes as well. We will be looking for even more opportunities to use the tools and engine upgrades newly developed for Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond to improve the original games as well. We hope to prove to you that the development of the new game is good news for the franchise overall; while we are pushing the series forward with the new installment, we do not want to just forget about its roots.

Realpolitiks II update v1.09 is out now

Greetings, Brand new patch for Reapolitiks II has just arrived, fixing many bugs and issues.

Changelog:


  • The frequency of the outbreak of a rebellion has been changed - it shouldn't happen that often now
  • UN eagerly adopts resolutions on an unrecognized player's country
  • Changed the liberation mechanic - now it can recreate already nonexisting historic countries - If the country ceased to exist and the provinces in its historic territory were liberated, the devastated country would return to the world map
  • Improvements and fixes in effects' values visualization
  • Fixed missing music after loading saved game
  • Fixed a bug where a saved game become corrupted and couldn't be loaded due to being stuck in the loading screen
  • Fixed the issue where sometimes after loading the game some armies were bugged and unclickable or unable to be moved
  • Fixed the issue where sometimes after loading the game some war theatres were bugged and unclickable or unable to resolve
  • Fixed some rare issues with changing province's owner
  • Localization fixes
  • Fixed an issue where incorrectly assigned armies caused the game to freeze
  • Fixed the problem where after breaking a bloc, the notification displayed the wrong flag of the country we are fighting
One more thing to add - a fan-made Japanese localization can now be downloaded from this link. It has not been officially made by the developer, but it has been tested by the players and should be perfectly usable. Thank you for playing Realpolitiks II, have a good one!

  • Changed the way that performed enemy spy action information is shown to the player - now it will appear in the miscellaneous notification panel rather than as a popup window
  • Fixed army units transfer between armies which may lead to army unit copies

  • Fixed disappearing army models after performing some operations and actions on those armies

Realpolitiks II exits Early Access today!


To all the world leaders, revolutionaries and dictators - time for your second term has come! Realpolitiks II leaves Early Access today with a new update that addresses the issues that are still present in the game and brings in a number of smaller and bigger changes. Realpolitiks II new update coming tomorrow and save file compatibility


Hello everyone! The time has finally come! After many delays, unexpected setbacks, last-minute bug discoveries, tears and coffee in equal amounts, hours of QA and dramatic mental breakdowns we are finally able to release the long-awaited update that was previously scheduled to go live on April 8th. This is an important announcement for all current Realpolitiks II players, since the update will make your save files unplayable. As weve previously stated, a few of the most severe bugs were rooted deeply within some of the most basic game mechanisms. While this update brings some much needed improvements for the games quality, it turned out to be impossible to keep the old saves compatible with the new version. This is why we would like to inform you in advance, so you can plan your current games accordingly. On the brighter side, besides an incredible amount of fixes, the update brings in some new and exciting content such as the highly anticipated post-apocalyptic campaign we were all really excited to work on. Realpolitiks II update postponed


Hello everyone! We have an announcement regarding the big update that was scheduled for release today. As mentioned before, its a huge update that deals with some of the most severe bugs in the game and its something the development team has worked on really hard for the last month. We really wanted to bring it your way as soon as we could; unfortunately, just as we were coming to a close of the testing process we have stumbled upon a rare, but quite impactful bug. The team did its best to diagnose and eliminate it, but it seems that we werent able to pinpoint its causes accurately enough to get rid of it completely in this brief period of time. We know that you - our community - were more than patient with us during those past few months and we hate to tell you that we need to delay a feature once more; however we feel that this is the best choice, with the alternative being rolling out a release that can potentially introduce a new, serious issue. For now, we havent had the time to gather enough data to give you a new estimated release date for this update. We will inform you of any news as soon as we can. Realpolitiks II full release postponed until May


Hello everyone. Today were coming to you with two announcements regarding the future of Realpolitiks II. Let us open this message by saying that even though its not always explicitly apparent, we always listen to all of the community voices with utmost attention. We are aware that Realpolitiks II has been a troubled release and some of the bugs youve encountered were deeply rooted in the way we approached things at the very beginning of the production. We know you have anticipated this announcement and so we have come to the same conclusion some of you have already voiced here, on this channel, multiple times: we are postponing the final release of the game until May 12th, 2021. This will allow us to not only polish the game and, more importantly, test it thoroughly with the help of a specialised company, but also prepare a way better release for you and all the future Realpolitiks II players. The other announcement were less eager to make is the fact that with the upcoming update thats scheduled to go live April 8th, your old saves will not work anymore. As much as we tried to avoid it, we need to resolve underlying issues that are causing some of the most troubling, game-breaking bugs that are causing some players to be unable to enjoy the game. We know some of you have put many hours into playing Realpolitiks II, but as weve previously stated, some of those problems date back to the beginning of the development and to fix them we need to make some fundamental changes in our systems. Each way of preserving your saved games we have tested out was impossible to implement without introducing new, severe optimization issues. At the same time we would like to assure you that the upcoming update is one of the biggest ones yet, including not only much needed fixes, but also the previously announced post-apocalyptic scenario along with other content that was planned for the full launch. We hope that you receive this information with understanding and as always, we thank you for your overwhelming support and help in making Realpolitiks II the game we wanted it to be throughout the whole Early Access period. Realpolitiks II gets a new release date!


Hello everyone, We have some news regarding the release date of Realpolitiks II outside of Early Access on Steam. To cut the long story short, we are pushing it a little bit further - to the first half of April. The ones who have joined our Discord channel, know that our developers regularly communicate with the players; new patches to Realpolitiks II are released steadily every few days, with a brief break in the midst of the Holiday period. Thanks to the continuous support of our community, we were able to pinpoint more and more rare bugs and issues we are confident we can fix, if given more time. Currently our main focus lies on optimizing the game as much as possible, fixing the bugs reported by the community and introducing some quality-of-life updates. Weve also received tons of incredible feedback with some really great ideas and suggestions regarding various improvements that we would love to include in the final release. In conclusion - we simply want to make sure were releasing a truly polished game the strategy fans deserve. At the same time were trying not to feed into the crunch culture that plagues the gaming industry.
