Hello there Steam Community and everyone participating in it! It has been... A long time, actually. Again. I feel like this has ( sadly ) become a standard thing to open up a post here for me, which sucks. I know I apologized for it a thousand times by now already, but I still want to apologize for not keeping you guys up to date. The thing is... There is not really much to report regarding My New Memories at the moment. After I released the sequel on January 1st and, thanks to that, had a good start into the new year, the "old" despair settled in again because my assets are still in the hands of the german law enforcement, also known as the cops ( or Polizei, in German ). I did not get any news from my lawyer yet and I'm honestly at a loss for words by now. How can it be that 1 1/2 years have passed and I literally never got an answer to my request to hand out the harddrive that only contains my rendering assets for My New Memories? Why does a single police woman have the power to keep it because she deems some of the characters are inappropiate, even though they're not even sexualized in any shape or form? And even better ( I wasn't supposed to share this but I guess I will now anyway ), she literally complained about characters like Lena and Sabrina looking inappropiate. One person has the power to say "No, I don't think they look appropiate enough, I'll keep his shit until a court hearing has happened". Welcome to Germany, I guess... Anyway, I did not want to make this post to just cry and be bitter. I actually have some news regarding Chapter 4 that might either excite you or make you say "What are you smoking?" You amazing people probably know that I'm an active user in different communities and in one of those forums, a person mentioned that I could release kind of a "snippet" for Chapter 4 to refresh peoples memories of what's going on in the game right now. Since I have the assets for Sabrina and Bethany I gave this a thought and really, really liked the idea. So I'm doing exactly that. I'm currently working ( and have been since the release of the first prequel chapter ) on an update that will release (hopefully) sometimes this month! This update will not be Chapter 4 but rather... Chapter 3.5 ? No, that's also not correct. Basically, you download the update and load your savegame and the game will tell you what you are about to play now - A very very very small portion ( one long event ) with Sabrina that happens at the first ingame day of Chapter 4. In this event you will talk with Sabrina about the events of the night before ( the Mike incident, if you want to call it that ) and a lot of other things that have happened during the day ( Anna is awake, you finally see Karla and the ginger twins and you have the extremely important discussion with Jessica during the day ). During this event you will also experience a kind of "flashback" with Sabrina, where they will talk about their first intimate encounter. If you played the prequel you can maybe guess what I'm going to do there. This whole snippet will be around ~20 to 30 minutes of playtime, depending on your reading speed. And before anyone mentions this, no, I'm not doing this because of the new change Steam made. I had this idea before Steam showed that some games didn't update for a long time. That's why I'm also considering only releasing this on the beta branch, so you're not forced to give it a go or anything like that. I'm honing the current situation and accept that Steam has to put this notice down on Early Access games. The fact is that the last update has been in May 2023 and there is no way I'm going to "trick" players to think that this little snippet will be more than it is. Anyway, I have written quite a lot of stuff again now and the most important part is coming up. What do you guys think about this idea? You can give me an honest and direct answer, if you hate it or love it, I'm open to hear any feedback you have. I personally thought it was a good idea just to remind you amazing people what is currently going on in the game and to maybe excite you even more for the upcoming release of Chapter 4 - which will come faster than you might think, once I Have my rendering assets back.
