Hey folks, as from the middle of July the distribution of Luminyte will be changed to "FREE TO PLAY" in hope that some people will find the heart to play my little game! Sadly I have to say my little experiment to enter the world of video game development about 2 years ago failed. Didn't have that great expectations though, so I think I'll be fine with it :) Thanks to anyone who supported me! See You, Jens

Ahoi, I made some changes to the game, as I had some suggestions concerning the camera behavior. I changed the camera-movement to feel a little more "natural" and maybe less vomit-triggering. Also I added the possibilty to move the cam up and down via the mouse-scroll-wheel. Along with some gameplay fixes, I hope you enjoy these changes. If not please let me know. Best regards, Jens

A small update regarding the level save system. I noticed the game didn't save the level-progress properly. Should be fixed now. If you have any trouble with the game now, I'm afrait you have to delete the "Luminlevel.baer"-file and sadly your progress will be gone. The file is located in: Win: AppData\LocalLow\BaerenBytes\Luminyte Linux: HOME/.config/unity3d/BaerenBytes/Luminyte Mac: user/Library/Application Support/com.BaerenBytesLumin Best regards Jens

Hello folks, I'm happy to say Luminyte is now available for sale and I'm really excited how everything will go on from now! I don't have great expectations but we'll see. At last I did learn a lot in the last year and the next project, if I find the time, will be much, much more sophisticated with more stuff and everything. Sadly I couldn't manage to add controller-support and changable key-bindings yet. I'll try to deliver that later on. If I sell a lot of copys so that I will be able to quit my dayjob, fingers crossed, I will add everything of that and even more, and the sequel will be a blast :D Thanks everyone and have a nice weekend! Best Regards, Jens

Hello folks, thanks again for all of your mails regarding the Beta-Key lottery. The lucky ones already got their grand prize. For all those who didn't win: I'm really really sorry, but you don't have to wait much longer. The release is getting close und you will be able to get your copy of Luminyte soon! ;) Last Friday there was a small update after I received some first feedback. Thanks to Aran for that! I also wanted to say if you want to reset the game to beginn all over, or you just want to delete the game entirely from your computer after you uninstalled on steam, you have to the delete the Baerenbytes folder in your AppData->LocalLow folder. Last but not least: You can listen to the Soundtrack of the game on Soundcloud now: Luminyte O.S.T. Best regards, Jens

Hello everbody, unfortunately I have some bad news concerning the french localization. Due to unforseen events I have to skip the french language pack for the release of Luminyte. I will add it later to the game as soon as possible. I'm really sorry for that! The good news is, I have some keys for BETA-testing left, which I will give out for free to the first ones who will write an email to info@baerenbytes.de with the subject: "me first gimme gimme" :) Entry deadline is the 9th of july 2021. I really could use some more input to make Luminyte a better gaming experience. Thanks and have a good day! Jens

About the developer:
Hi, I'm Jens, part time solo-developer. As a huge games fan from early days on, starting with my atari 2600 (R.I.P.), I always wanted to develop my own game.
Unfortunatly my path in life didn't lead that way, until last year I decided to give it a trie, as I'm not getting any younger and what if it was meant to be?
So I started an experiment. I gave myself one year to advance my poor programming skills and dive into the mechanics of the unity engine to create a game from scratch. Thanks to the huge community and it's endless amount of great tutorials and guides I was able to learn pretty fast and find solutions for almost every problem. As my main work is in the field of architecture, I already knew a lot about 3D-modeling, but not so much about animating, so have a little mercy on me in that particular aspect of the game ;) At first I wanted to keep it really simple. A simple pac man-like labyrinth game with the added elements of light and darkness. But by the time I got many new ideas and it grew a little out of hand.
So the year is almost over now and while the release date is getting closer and closer, I can say I managed to create something I thought I never could do and I'm kinda proud of. I hardly can say everything is done and a lot of ideas and features I got in mind couldn't make it into the game yet, but after all it's a game you can play and I hope enjoy a little.
Thanks to everyone who decides to play my first little creation and supports me with a purchase! Hope you have fun!!
For more to come,
Jens
