Hello, I'm back with a new update, this time smaller than the last one, I had mostly focused on adding new bugs + fixing bugs introduced in the last version. Update V1.4

Hello, I'm back with a new update, not big one as V1.3, but still a few new things have come. With the new update, a simple additive creation has arrived in the game, we can set the additive price, marketing budget, name icon, few stats, then we can sell the additive + use in your own products. This one adds a little of an extra content in the late game.

I had also added a "rating system", higher player company rating = higher additive sales + a few other things. I had also added "recruit all" button at the workers recruit panel + there is "research repeat" toggle in the research panel. This update, as always, brings new bugs, some bug fixes, and a few other things.

Update V1.3

Hello, no one was expecting it, but here is it, a new update. I got a burnout from gamedev, and by some random events I had decided to make a small update to YMT with bug fixes, but I ended developing something bigger.

Of course, as always, I had added new bugs, but the option to copy a few yerba settings had come into the game, we can also now sell your shares, use licenses in yerba, we can search for workers by worker type, there were tons of improvements to game losing, we can now sort searched workers by type, We can also customize game start with new various options.

Update V1.23 (bug fixes)

Hello, as I have written before, I'm always here :-) The new update fixes a bug with some rare crashes, and bugs with choosing additives, and it fixes bug with loading the game, if you saved the game, but couldn't load it, it's now fixed. The saved file was always fine, that is why it was a bit hard to reproduce this issue because when you guys sent me saves, they were just loading fine for me, but I had found out what was broken. Oh, and I had added new bugs :-)

The bug with loading external .csv files (translations) is now fixed too. I had also updated translations and added a simple "fade" music system (on random music) + I had added tons of new fonts, which brings support to new various languages font characters (if someone wishes to translate the game to xx language). Thanks for all reports and ideas.

Update V1.2 (biggest update after leaving early access) :-}

Hello, Yerba Mate Tycoon has left early access a few months ago (3 Sep, 2021), from time to time I was developing "smaller" updates with bug fixes, translation updates, and a few Qol things, around ~1 week ago I had released some small update, and after it, I'm not sure why, I had started working on new things, and here it is. The biggest YMT update after leaving early access.

What has changed? As always full changelog is available on the game forum/bottom of this post. But in the summary, the additive search option has been added (name), now in the yerba creation panel, we got a "random" button for name generation, 2 new additives, 4 research, new companies have been added to the game. Except it, computer companies are now creating their yerba, very very simple system, it mostly adds +1% to the game depth :-} Oh, and we can now set "policy" for owned companies, which will give us bonus (bonus % depends on owned companies + their level). As before, we are starting the game with 20 companies, but during the game, more companies are joining the game. And yes, we can now rename yerba during creation. We can also ignore trade shows, set time for autosave, or disable it, we can ignore country notifications (stats changes). In products history, we can see a lot more stats + percent focus we had chosen. In the statistics panel we can see how many awards we have gained, some additives got new "appearance" and "taste" modifiers. Research button got number of available researches on it, the game is now a bit harder, and a lot more, I had also fixed tons of bugs + added tons of new one :-}


Why did I had done this update? I got no idea, but here is it, have fun :-}

- Computer Companies are now creating their own yerba (#+1% to depth)

- In the statistics panel, we can see how many awards we have gained (it won't show data from the past, only from this update).
- Added "created products" number in company stats panel.
- The research button now got a number of available research positions on it.
- In created yerba mate statistics, we can see if yerba got awarded.
- Added to product statistics "months in the sale" to yerba stats.
- On medium or higher difficulty, yerba rate has now higher impact on max months in sales (before we could get yerba with a rate of 1.5, which would be sold for 7 months), this makes a game a bit harder, more "dynamic".
- In settings, we can now set autosave time in seconds (or set it to 0 = disable).
- Added "total sold yerba mates packages" to stats.
- Time-restricted additives now got tooltips about it with Month's info.
- History of made yerba mates will only show yerba mates removed from the market (sales end). Before it was even showing yerba during sales, it caused some problems.
- Translations Update
- Tons of other small changes/bug fixes :-}

Update V1.12 (first in new year)

Hello, today I had released a small update V1.12, no one was excepting it, but here is it :-} First update in the new year, this update brings "bankrupt indicator" in a left bottom corner we can see days left until we will lose the game, except it, I fixed some bugs + as always I had updated translations, a lot more texts are now translated. And of course, I had added new bugs, I love creating new bugs. Wish to help with game translation?

Hello, today I had released a small update V1.11, which added support to Chinese/Romanian language (50% done) + I had resolved some issues with Russian language. Except it, I had resolved an issue with crash on Win11 + I had fixed many other bugs (hacking decision was always showing at game start, it was a bug). Yerba Mate Tycoon has hit early access on Steam on 15 Jun, 2021, during those ~3 months many things have changed. Full changelog



I organized this post in the faq:

1. What about the Android/IOS version?
I'm working on it right now, but the tax/paperwork for it will take me 1-2 months or more? I don't really know, hard to say, you can join the newsletter, so you will get information when the Android/IOS version will come. I hate this paper/tax work, it takes so much time, it's so hard, but I need to do it :(


2. Why are you quitting early access?
- I want to port the game to Android/IOS.
- In those 3 months I had added what I wanted to see in the game
- Creation costs are higher than earnings from the game (right now total earnings from the game <0) because expenses are higher than earnings.
- I'm working on a new game


3. No more updates?
The last update was 3.09.2021, there will be more updates with bug fixes + translations updates, so this is not the last update. I mean, if someone in the future will discover a bug in the Android version, I will fix it, I will just port it to the PC version, same with bug reports I'm also always on the discord, I'm reading the game forum, and reviews, so I'm still here and open for bug reports :-} Bug fixes/translation --> they will come, new content --> Won't probably come

4. What about your statistics from game earnings and other things?
My last post was from early access, in a few months a post with stats will come, I'm not sure how I should set it up, should I separate Android/IOS earnings from Steam? Or combine them in a post? I want to avoid spamming, I will need to think about it.

I wanted to combine early access exit + Android/IOS release (I wanted to do both at the same time), but I got some papers problems with releasing the Android/IOS version, I want to avoid keeping the game in early access, and mislead potential buyers, so the game is leaving early access.

Update #7/8+++? week + Android/IOS version coming

Hello, I was working on the game optimization, premium additives, locked additives at start, new yerba stats, more tooltips + information + workers union decision. I'm also working on porting the game to Android/IOS, this has caused tons of new bug fixes + small changes + extra scaling mode for the players + various improvements to game scaling + game optimization. Not sure when the Android/IOS version will arrive, I got plans to release it in September (9 month). I'm just solo dev, and it is taking me a lot of time :D But one day all will be ready.

Except the Android/IOS port I'm right now working on the game balance, the balance update is not still released, but I plan to make the game a bit "harder" by default, and a lot harder on legendary difficulty + make it easier to lose the game with low rates.

Hello, in this month I will have to increment my age from 22-->23, I'm still not rich, not beautiful, not intelligent, but I'm still young :D hmm isn't that great? During this week, there will be 20% discount on the game, not sure why 20%, but 23% feels too old.

What else I can write? Bugs (the virtual one) are essence of the life, We can always turn bug into feature, but it's a lot harder to turn feature into bug :-}

Update #7/8 week

Hello, it's time for updates news. I had added tons of new workers names, new worker traits, I had also done tons of improvements to tooltips system, fixed tons of bugs. And I added option to sabotage enemy company has come to the game, now we need to unlock 2nd additive. And there is also additive stat system in progress (right now I had only added stimulation stats).

Right now, I'm working on bringing more stats to the additives, so some additives will lower/raise refreshment value, some maybe will lower aroma value, etc. I also need to change the additive unlocking, not all additives should be unlocked at game start.

Update #6 week

Hello, in this week I had added chimarrao to the game, "max" button to the loan, last two marketing actions got now small chance for "special" effect, in which we can gain 100 hype or get lowered hype to 0 (if we got low-skilled workers). I had also fixed tons of bug. In this week, I was very busy with other things than gamedev + I was posting information about games sales, etc, it took me a lot of time :-}

Right now, I'm working on more enemy companies options (sabotage, etc.). Stay tuned :-}

Like 1 month ago+ (35 days ago) Yerba Mate Tycoon got released in Early Access, I won't lie to you, that this game is a masterpiece of game design, gamedev, but I'm still glad, you have played my game, I would like to thank you for buying my game, reporting bugs, giving ideas for new updates, helping with translations, joining discord community and tons of other things :-}

During the first month, I tried to develop as many updates as I can, You can read about updates here (search for updates with the term "Steam Early Access"), but to be honest, I'm just developing new bugs, and the new content/game is just add-on to it (just joking :D).

What are my plans for updates? I don't like huge posts with plans because I like to write that xx and yy will be developed, and in the same/next month it will be in the game. Right now, I'm working on expanding enemy companies' system, adding new things to marketing.

I don't like long posts because no one read them (even I don't read them), so thank you a lot, and see you on the next updates :-}

Updates #5 week

Hello, I'm sorry that chimarrao update didn't arrive in this week, but I had to fix some bug that has been discovered in this week. I'm also working on the blog post about Yerba Mate Tycoon earnings stats + video about it. So chimarrao will take me a bit of time. In this week I had added "barbacua" drying method, it can have higher prices, but it will get less sales (so lower gain fans) because it's limited drying method. I did a ton of bug fixes to music system + sales panel. And a huge optimization in hired workers (panel) has arrived. Except it, I removed gender option (many players asked for it), it was replaced with chimarrao (still work in progress).

- Added "Barbacua" drying method, we can unlock it at research (the research will be unlocked during gameplay). Barbacua takes more time and cash to make, but it can have a higher price, from another side we will sell a lower number of it (limited), we will gain fewer fans (because of lower sales).
- Huge optimization of hired/workers available for hire panel.
- Removed Gender option (players request) + it was never working. It will be replaced with Chimarrao/Standard yerba option.
- Fixed bug with sorting with a date (created yerba)

Hello, I'm continuing tradition of week changelog, in this week the updates were small one, I added monthly/yearly earnings stats (simple one, month/month, year/year). Except it, we can now hide yerba/global events notifications. And I added other stats panel (tax, etc.). Right now, I'm working on Barbacua update + tons of other things, it will take me a bit of time :-}

I'm still working on next updates, at the bottom you can read what changed in this week, I worked on hiding notifications system, trade shows, I had redo created yerba mates panel + I fixed tons of bugs. More things were planned in today update, but I had to fix some bugs.

Right now, I'm working on a panel with statistics (earnings/cash lose). I got also plans for adding "Barbacua" as drying method. And of course bug fixes are top priority :-} And other tons of things.

Hello, ten days has passed since the game released, and with new week, I'm coming with a list of updated things. First, Linux + macOS version of game is now available, worker management options has been added + I fixed, changed few of things. Right now, I'm working on a simple trade shows system + few other things (on game steam forum there is a roadmap + changelog thread).

Updates #1 week (4 days after game release) + Steam Summer Sale Information


Hello, first I would like to thank you all for support, buying, playing this game, they are not many of you :-}

I'm solo indie hobbyist, I'm busy with game marketing, but in those 4 days after game release, I tried to fix as many bugs as I can, small things + I had implemented steam achievements. Of course, big updates are planned too, but give me a time. I think every week/two/month I will post a detailed changelog like this on news (you can always see daily change log at game steam forum).

I got some questions about Steam summer sale, Yerba Mate Tycoon won't be in Steam summer sale, after game release, I need to wait ~1month before I can do any discounts,. If you got any friends who love yerba mate, feel free to show them this game, or if you got YouTube/twitch Chanel, I would be overjoyed for each video or any way of spreading the game to other players.

Yerba Mate Tycoon Available in Early Acess

Hello, this is my first post on Steam, but not the last one :-}

Yerba Mate Tycoon got released today as Early Access on Steam; the actual game version is 0.17, the following days/weeks/months are aimed at bringing bug fixes, balance, and new content to the game. And, of course, I will add tons of bugs (not joking).

If you got any questions about the game, or you need any help related to the game, you had encountered a bug, or you got an idea for an update, feel free to post it on the steam Page. I'm reading every topic/comment on the game Steam forum.

This is early access, so tons of new things are planned, don't worry. I'm not a type of gamedev, which runs with player cash. Regrading the sale numbers (I got only failures, so I'm used to it), the new updates will be brought. Even if one person buys the game, the new updates will be delivered. I'm solo 22 years old indie gamedev, but you can check the actual changelog, which proves I'm constantly working on the game:

I'm a fan of frequent updates, my methodology of work is based on even small changes (based on time), but every day I'm working on the game. You can always see the game roadmap here:

Before the release, I got tons of questions about:

"Steam Achievements" ---. Yes, they will be added during Early Access. Right now, they are not in-game.

"Linux/macOS version" --> I'm a solo guy, and I got very slow internet, the upload/notarization of other operating systems versions would slow down updates, that's why I had delayed Linux/macOS release, but of course, the game will be released on the platform, but it will happen during/at the end of early access, first I want to focus 100% on bug fixes, new content and game balance, then I will think about new platforms.

"What about xx language" --> English/Polish translations are done by me, other translations are done by the community. There is a localizor page on which every player can help with translation: Translation Page
Right now, the game is available in Polish/English/Spanish. More languages are based on community support.

"Steam Workshop" --> Sorry, I got no plans Steam workshop.

Of course, the Early Access version is not perfect, but over time it will improve. From my side, I can promise that I will be an active developer. And I appreciate every bought copy of the game. It allows me to work on the game more, spend less time in a regular job.
