Hi , Once again we are working on a Japanese version of our coming title Outshine. Just like Epistory and Nanotale, Outshine will work with companion words which are romanized versions of the words you have to type in Japanese. Thanks to you we learned a bit more about Japanese localization while developing our typing game and now we understand that there are different ways to romanize it. There is the Hepburn romanization that generally follows English phonology with Romance vowels. But also the Nihon-shiki romanization originally invented for Japanese and his modified variant the Kunrei-shiki.
So our question is: What romanization Japanese would prefer in Outshine?
Please, if you are a player from Japan, vote using that google form. Here are a few in-game examples so you can better decide. The Hepburn is used in Nanotale while the Nihon-shiki is used in Outshine.

Hey Fox Riders, Earlier this year, we partnered with Makeship to create plushies of the Fox from Epistory. This time we'd like to run another campaign with characters from Nanotale. Therefore, we'd like to now if you'd prefer to have the Blue Fox (cute plushie version), the Green Jasper, or both. Please tell us in the comments or using this google form.

Updates about Nanotale and our other games
We are currently working on an update of Nanotale which fixes for the remaining bugs. An update of Epistory supporting Apple M1 is also in progress. Finally, our new typing game Outshine is ready to be released and should be out around the end of October. Don't forget to wishlist it if it's not done yet. That's it for today Fox Riders! Thank you for your help. -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders, It's Steam awards time and we were wondering if you would feel like voting for Nanotale. nanofox All of the award categories are restricted to games released this past year with the exception of the "Labor of Love" category. So, also played our first typing game Epistory and feel it deserves the "Labor of Love", please don't hesitate to vote for it too. greenjasper
Plushies
We are thinking about making plushies of our games and I'd like to know if you'd prefer a Green Jasper plushie from Nanotale or a three tailed fox plushie from Epistory? Please let us know by joining the vote on Discord or by simply filling that poll. Thank you very much! -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders,
During the development of our last typing adventure, Nanotale, some players asked us for for a fast-paced typing mode. Of course, we released the arena mode to please the frenetic typists among you. But, we also had the idea of a new typing game, more arcade oriented where your only goal is to destroy your enemies in a fast-paced typing game.
So, here comes Outshine where each world has its own flow, enemies and bosses. Master your different special abilities and find the best tactic to defeat your enemies and escape. Beat the game then change the game modifiers to create a brand new custom experience. Ready to type your way up the leaderboard?
Outshine is still in development and is planned to be released around mid-2022. Meanwhile, it would mean a lot to us if you could wishlist it.

Thank you.

Hi Fox Riders,
I hope that you are doing great!
The Tokyo Game Show has started and for the occasion they wanted all participants to have playable demos of their games so players can test games as if they were attending the event IRL.
So, if you wanted to give it a try before buying it, it's the right moment. Enjoy!
More awesome games to discover on the official Steam page of the TGS with the link below.
What's in the demo
The demo let's you play the beginning of the game and stops after you get the first magic. The save file is compatible with the full game so you'll continue where you stopped; no need to restart it from the beginning. Note that the demo doesn't give you access to the Arena mode. That's it folks! Thank you for reading. Cheers, -VirginRedemption

Hi Fox Riders,
When we released the game, some of you were missing the Arena mode we had in our previous typing game, Epistory. For that reason, we worked on adding this mode to Nanotale. You can now enter an infinite battle mode and enjoy smashing your keyboard to defeat the enemies coming at you.
As we wanted Nanotale to be different from Epistory, we also added a new twist to the Arena mode, giving you a lot of random waves but also objectives to maximize your score.
The Arena mode is coming with three arenas: Desert, Forest, Caves. You can already have access to the Desert. The Caves and the Forest will follow week by week.

Once we're sure things are in a good spot, our small team will be taking a break to recharge, and plan what's next sleepysheep. We can't wait to start a new fresh production and share it with you. Hi Fox Riders,
I caught a cold and I auto-quarantine myself. But we are not here to talk about me, right?
We have a new logo! The game is feature complete, which means that everything we add now is part of the "nice to have" list (I think I already said that earlier epiwtf). So, we are continuing to work on that magical list. The logo was part of that list, since the previous one was not super visible on small format. Here's the new one and the new animation for it epilove
About the BETA
The closed BETA of the desert is going well. The BETA testers reported less bugs than expected. So, we have now a total of 53 bugs to fix for release. These bugs will be the main focus during the coming weeks.
Next step
As I told you before, the game release as been delayed a lot due to the fact that we have to release the Steam version at the same time as the STADIA version. The good news is that the STADIA version is going well. I am now waiting for the ratings (USK, ESRB, and PEGI) to come back to us. We are getting closer to that release, don't we? This week we'll also work on adding the localized achievements, badges, emotes, and cards to Steam, so you will soon be able to use them. That's it for today. Thank you for reading. Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hello Fox Riders, Here's an update of the list of tasks that need to be done for the closed BETA of the desert:
- [strike]Sound design on ending cinematic (because we can't let you finish the game without a nice ending).[/strike]
- Update save file system to make sure that your saves will work with the improvements made on the previous biomes.
- [strike]Get the Chinese translation from our published and integrate it.[/strike]
- Some bug fixes and tweaks.
A side task, that is more for the final release of the game, was to improve to menu according to your feedback. Now, you can find a list of the updates and knowledges your unlock in the game.
Thank you for reading. Let's hope that next week update will be for announcing the close BETA episweat Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders, Last week again, we were working on having the closed BETA of the desert ready but not only. Most of our programmers have been super busy on the STADIA porting, since the final release of the game depends on that porting (we have to release on both STADIA and Steam at the same time). So, finishing the desert takes a bit more time than expected. I don't think that the desert will be accessible in January but we aim for the first week of February. Here's what still need to be finished for the closed BETA:
- Sound design on ending cinematic (because we can't let you finish the game without a nice ending).
- Update save file system to make sure that your saves will work with the improvements made on the previous biomes.
- Get the Chinese translation from our published and integrate it.
- Some bug fixes and tweaks.
Thank you for reading. Have a great week. Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders,
I am really sorry for the late weekly update. We were super busy working on the closed BETA of the desert that is still plan before February. The focus is now on the FINAL battle of the game and the ending cinematic. We don't want to rush it and have a low quality ending compared to the rest of the game.
Tomorrow, we'll have a big meeting about it to pick a date.
Is it just me or fixing the moving rings is kind of hypnotic?
HELP US
Nanotale is in the Final Vote for Fan Favourite of GDWC 2020! Please help us to win by voting for us epihappy https://thegdwc.com/fanfav/
Thank you for reading our short update. We'll have more to say soon, when the closed BETA will be ready. Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders,
Last week we worked on various things such as the cinematics, but also fixed bugs to have the closed BETA of the desert ready before the end of January as promised.
Here are a few teasers.
New pricing
During the early access of Nanotale, we received a lot of wonderful feedback and suggestions from players about features to add and improvements on existing ones. According to that, we decided to take more time to push Nanotale's quality forward. For those reasons, we took the decision to increase to price from $14.99 to $19.99. Most of you already own the game, but for the ones who are still waiting for the finale release, we wanted to let you know before the final release planned around March-April 2021. Thank you for watching, Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders,
Happy New Year! Let's hope that 2021 will be better than 2020. But it can't be worst than that right?!
Most of us were on Holidays during the last two weeks, excepted for our dear programmers who continued to work on debugging the game.
So, what happened during these two weeks?
We won the Indie of the Year on Indie DB
Thanks to our amazing community who voted for us, we managed to reach that top 10 and win the award. Thank you again.
Camera Dissolve
Our Programmers worked on having some parts of bigger elements disappearing when you are under them. It still needs some tweaks but we already have something interesting.
More Camera Close-ups
We added some camera close-up and improved the existing ones to make the dialogue and lore discovery more interesting as it gives you another camera angle.
BONUS
Quick timelapse while creating a scene in Nanotale.
And Bruno felt lonely at the studio, so he took his dog to keep him company while working. And then, one of our artists gave the dog a Nanotale vibe.
Thank you for reading! More news soon about the coming BETA of the Desert. Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders,
Last week, we published the new update of Nanotale with the voice-overs. That took us most of the week. Meanwhile, we also continued to improve the game and implement small additions. Did you try the new update? Would love to have your feedback about it.
Here's one of the small additions in post-prod that bring so much to the player's experience. We wanted our main menu to change depending on the biome you are currently exploring in the game. Here the desert.

Wishing you all good holidays and a happy new year! Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders, I am happy to announce you that we updated Nanotale with voice-overs. We still need to tweak them here and there, so, we recommend you to low down a bit the effect sounds in the menu before playing. [previewyoutube=fKK8puZVN_E;full][/previewyoutube] [previewyoutube=ymCAxOgQR1s;full][/previewyoutube] We also updated the game with some fixes and improvements. Here's the full list. Added:

- Art and visibility improvement in the forest
- Can backtrack after Serpent battle
- New main menus
- New Loading screens
Note: The secondary characters in Nanotale, don't have sounds/voices yet. We plan to add emotes/sounds when you start a dialogue with them. Thank you for reading and we hope that you will enjoy that little early Christmas present. Happy Holidays! -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders, Last week we focused on sorting and implementing all the voice over from the game. So happy to share this with you. The voice you can hear is Jenn Henry whos playing her Majesty The Queen. Shes amazing and very nice to work with. What do you think? We are now testing it to make sure that everything is fine. Once it's done, we'll update the game with all the voices. [previewyoutube=cdq5WXWbVC0;full][/previewyoutube]
Improvements
There are no small improvements. Some areas were too messy, with too many decorative elements (grass, ruins), and the ground color was too similar to our main character's outfit making her barely visible. The joy of post-production.
Please help us again
Woke up last Friday to see that we made it to the Indie of the Year top 100 on IndieDB. Thank you so much for your votes. Weird thing with that award is that people have to vote for your game twice: one time to reach the top 100 and one another time once you are in the top 100. It means that you have to ask for a double engagement and I feel that its asking a lot. But it you could visit the page and vote one more time for us so we can at least reach top 10, it would be awesome. Ill keep you in touch after the results in 6 days. https://www.indiedb.com/groups/2020-indie-of-the-year-awards/top100#vote68864
Thank you so much for reading. Cheers, -VirginRedemption
Hi Fox Riders,
How are you doing? Confinement and everything?
Last week, we continued to work on bug fixing. Here's a simple example of issues we are fixing in the game. When your game has an isometric view sometimes, you miss details like these floating rocks, until you look at it from a different angle.
Our 3D Artist Quentin published that nice video showing how he works to create scenes in Nanotale. Creating those small scenes is good for inspiration. You can use them as catalogs to see all the elements you have created. Sometimes, you just forget how many you can use, and always take the same ones.
