She got into position in the Iceland end boss level "Ice Hell"
She can use her spiritual energy to form ice.
With her strong ice attacks, she will freeze your army and deal tons of damage!

TowersRTS New Worlds

Hello everyone, it has been a long time since our last Patch, but this has a special reason.
We present you with the most significant content update since the release of TowersRTS.
We hope you like all the new content!

New Scenarios:[/h2]
Besides Grassland we added 3 more Scenarios: Lavaland, Iceland, and Badlands.
Just like Grassland, you will discover many new levels with new mechanics and new looks to experience!
After finishing a scenario, you will unlock the faction and the hero you played against in the scenario.
[h2]
Factions:[/h2]
It's kinda boring that humans are only fighting other humans ... so we added Factions!
The enemies on the grassland scenario now turned into orcs! Besides visual differences, they also have a small passive effect.
Humans have a chance to dodge an attack and orcs have a chance to deal with a critical strike.
In the other scenarios, you will encounter new factions like skeletons, yetis, and grounders.

New Heroes:

Grant:[/h2]
Lavaland's end boss is Grant. He is a big golem with a magma core fueling his rage!
So watch out, he will burn down your army with his lava attacks!
And of course, when you beat him, you will also be able to play him.

[h2]Aurora:[/h2]
Iceland's end boss is Aurora. She can use her spiritual energy to form ice.
With her strong ice attacks, she will freeze your army and deal tons of damage!
You better bring a coat, it gets icy.
Sadly she .. missed the bus and will come out with a little more delay, so stay tuned!

[h2]Improved Victory Screen:[/h2]
We improved the victory screen to be more clear and clean.
We also added a statistic window to the end screen of multiplayer matches with information like units killed, produced, forge upgrades, and so on.
The item and hero xp reward is now clearly separated.
The play again buttons got their little window.

[h2]Improved Performance:[/h2]
We managed to improve the performance of some main parts of the game, resulting in a better performance overall (In my tests, I achieved around 8-16 more FPS).

[h2]Reworked map in the world map:[/h2]
Before you had to zoom out far enough to transition to the map.
But we thought that this is not the best way to use the map, as you may just want to see more without accidentally opening the map.
That's why we transferred it to a button beside the profile button.
Furthermore, we improved the map visuals, added all scenario sections, and clicking on the island will already teleport you and not only when you click on the portal itself.

[h2]New Language/Sounds:[/h2]


  • Grassland got a music update
  • We added 4 new languages to the game: Korean, Italian, Spanish, and French
  • There are new voice lines for the tutorial in the languages: English, German, Korean


[h2]Gameplay Improvements:[/h2]

  • There is now a marker for each unit move destination and attack position
  • Improved attack detection when clicking above enemy units
  • New way to attack: When you have units selected and right-click an enemy building, it will be an attack move to the front of the building
  • Improved the attack on trunks
  • The Health bar of a unit will now disappear when he dies


[h2]Improved Unit Behaviour:[/h2]

  • The hero has now a higher priority for movement. He can get through a group of units easier than before
  • At tower defense, units will now focus on enemies and then return to their initial position instead of fighting over the position of the enemy
  • Archers are now always in the middle of the formation. The formation from middle to the outside is now Hero -> Ranged -> Melee


[h2]Overlay Improvements:[/h2]

  • Adjusted some UI elements in the world map
  • Leaderboard times are now in a strict format
  • Daily activity chest has now a preview of possible rewards
  • Profile window and shop tabs text now get bold when the tab is selected
  • Profile window tabs text now have all the same size
  • New icon for voice volume in settings


[h2]World map:[/h2]

  • Renamed the island "Grassland" to "Forest Island"
  • Change the lighting on the "Forest Island"


[h2]Level Changes:[/h2]

  • Slightly reworked grassland end boss level. There is a circle you can use to activate a bridge as a shortcut behind the plants.
  • Repositioned a monster in "Spooky Lights" so that he won't get too close to the enemy tower

  • Fixed a bug where a unit sometimes won't attack the hero anymore after he got a knockback
  • The hero can't cast spells anymore when he is stunned

We have been working on Towers for 2 years. Towers were released 8 months ago. We update Towers with new content every month. We will continue to do so! Look forward to the big TowersRTS New Worlds update that will bring the game to 100+ levels with 36+ different level mechanics, 2 new races, and more multiplayer and co-op maps.



We have put all our love and passion into this project, so we think the Labor of Love Award would suit us. A Steam Award would make us very happy and show that passion and believing in your dreams pays off.

Minimap and unit improvements

[h2]New Minimap:[/h2]
We added a new feature in the gameplay, the minimap!
It shows a very simplified view of the map, all units and buildings.
The color of the icons will be the color of their team. When you select your units, their color turns to green.
You also see your camera position. With a pressed click on the minimap, you drag the camera around the map!

[h2]Level Changes:[/h2]


  • New multiplayer map "Picnic Paradise"


[h2]Gameplay Improvements:[/h2]

  • When you have multiple forges build, the other forges will block unit upgrades, that are already running on another forge


[h2]Improved Unit Behaviour:[/h2]

  • Melee units can now easier run past ranged fighter (won't get blocked)
  • Units have a higher defense range. Now they reacted earlier when enemies are approaching them
  • Now archers can't easily attack someone without them reacting to them
  • Units now attack a single point of interest and after that they return to their group formation
  • A unit will now focus the correct enemy and when the animation is finished, he will look for other enemies closer to him

  • Camera is moving to the first building again (now for sure)
  • Fixed a bug with shadows not showing correctly

October patch with halloween event

[h2]Halloween Event:[/h2]
As mentioned before we are hosting a one week halloween event.
It comes with 4 event maps and a bunch of event quests. The progress will only be count on event maps!
With completing quests you get some loot and additionally event currency.
This currency can be used in the event shop to buy Skins, gems and potions.
So play every difficulty of each map to find all hidden pumpkins and finish all quests!
We hope you enjoy it and happy halloween!

[h2]Coop Gamemode:[/h2]
We implemented a new multiplayer game mode: Coop
In coop, you don't fight against each other, but you play WITH your friend to beat the AI
You can play it by using invite friends feature (to play with your friends) or use the new matchmaking queue for coop

[h2]New Profile Window:[/h2]
We improved the profile window where you can not only equip your consumables, but now .. everything!
Hero stats now show the calculation. You can see the base stats, how much you already skilled and for armor how much damage it will reduce.
There are now also buttons for the hero spells and on consumables (under Items -> In game). When you click on them, a popup appears with more detailed information of what this spell/consumable do and a little example video, showing how it works and looks.
We also improved usage of exp potions. There is more information displayed such as how much exp you get and how many levels you get from using spezific amounts.

[h2]New Friend Invite Window:[/h2]
To introduce coop, we also reworked the whole invite window to handle both gamemodes
As a host you can decide, besides the map, which gamemode to play. There are two buttons and the grayed one is the current selected
The gamemode and map selection is now synced for other players too!

[h2]Balancing:[/h2]


  • Nerved knights, -10 damage on all levels and -10 health on each upgrade
  • Defense potion buffed from 40 to 100 armor
  • Increased speed of Ion's stun spell animation
  • Adjust the damage size of the flamthrower in total chaos
  • AI evades flamethrower and monster better
  • AI interacts with the event circle and force fields


[h2]Gameplay Improvements:[/h2]

  • Swapped Ion's spells, now his Q is his Stun and lightning strike his ult. Also adjusted mana and cooldown values
  • Your hero has a new unique selection circle
  • Ion's ult circle got a visual upgrade
  • Selection of units now won't have a triangle above, but instead the circle below will turn green
  • Shooting tower can see much further than other building types
  • Units and shooting tower now have a visible attack range which gets shown when selected (only for ranged units and single selected)

  • The stars for levels got a new look
  • Library button moved from profile window to options
  • Updated the look of item duration bar ingame
  • Spells should now always be visible also on uncommen screen sizes
  • The multiplayer window and matchmaking information is now also available in german
  • When you use your potion, the button dissapears ingame
  • When your hero dies, your abilities are grayed out to show they are currently not useable

  • Worldmap Hero now uses the current skin equipped
  • When opening the shop in Profilewindow, the shop will appear in front of it

  • Fixed a bug where Ion's spell could be heared and seen in the fog of war
  • Fixed a bug where Torin's ult didn't play a sound when he started it in the fog of war and then were visible

  • Fixed not updating description info when using radial menu and staying on the element

Halloween event 2022 (25.10 - 01.11)

[h3]Hello everyone, we are happy to announce our first official event!
Halloween is around the corner and everyone gets into a festival mood.
The environment is scary with many spiderwebs and new mechanics.
Your units decorated all buildings, but soon they realized, they are not alone.
At a party, they got into a scary encounter, but the enemy .. is different.

You can collect pumpkins on the levels to finish some of the 20 event quests.
Each quest will give you a special currency that you can spend on the cosmetic event shop.[/h3]

UI improvements and bug fixes

  • Removed a neutral building next to the enemy in "Shooting Cliff", which resultet into a harder match as it should be
  • Added Forge to the radial menu in the hero tutorial

  • You can now adjust the volume of voice sounds. There is a extra slider in the settings menu
  • Each element in the radial menu of buildings now have a tooltip. These important informations show what this element do and how they improve
  • Hero tutorial now explains the hero's spells better
  • Torin's knockback spell (Q) deals 10 more damage
  • Increased Defense Potion's buff from 20 to 40

  • The side elements of production buildings now show the correct Icon of the version
  • Pause menu now has the current active quest listed. Now you can see ingame which quests you have active
  • Templar back in the tutorial text

  • Reduced star amount needed to go to the next islands, It's now enough to win every level on easy
  • Improved the popup of levels. Now you can see how many stars you got from the level and which special chests you have already claimed from the level

  • Fixed Torin's ult, now he and his units around get armor again (ups)
  • Fixed a bug resulting the tutorial not continueing even though you did the requested task. Now it runs smoothly again

  • Fixed overlapping text in the forge tutorial

New Hero, content update and bug fixes

Hello everyone, it's been a while since our last Update and we are happy to finally bring all these changes to you.
Besides many new features like the new hero Ion and daily quests, there are also many bug fixes, visuals improvements and better performance!
Sadly we had to reset the user progress due to the patch. As compensation every user gets 150 gems after the first login till the next week.
We hope you all like this Update, enjoy!

[h2]New Hero[/h2]
The last mission of grassland is now playable in this version! When you finished this mission, you can play a new hero: Ion!
Ion has mastered the magic around lightning. With his strong ranged attacks, no enemy is save from him!

[h2]Daily Quests[/h2]
We added daily quests to the game. You get up to 5 quests every day to finish and get rewards.
When you finish enough quests in the week, you can open a activity Chest and get additional rewards.
The daily quests will be available after you finished the tutorial.
If that's not enough, you get additional loot every day for just logging in to the game! It will appear once you finished a session

[h2]Notification System[/h2]
When something important happens, a notification will pop up on the left side.
You can click on the text to move directly where that event took place

[h2]Mission Goals and Hints[/h2]
Mission goals are now shown in every mission. When you play the mission on easy, you get additional tipps on how to win the mission

[h2]New Items[/h2]
There is a new Item coming in 3 sizes: Experience Potions. They can be used in the profile window to level up your hero.
The amount of experience is increased with the size of the Potion

[h2]Damage Calculation Rework/Balancing[/h2]
Before every unit had a armor value presented as percentage. This could cause to some .. unwished moments where you level up your hero's armor up to 70% and get under a tower additional 30% armor, reaching 100% armor and being invincible.
Therefore instead of a percentage calculation, everyone has a flat value. In the new calculation, the damage reduction can never reach zero. Therefore stacking up armor is still effective, but loses efficience the higher it goes.
Additionally we nerved archer a little to be more balanced

Monster Rework[/h2]
The Monster was kinda weak and boring, so we made him more .. agressive! When he kills a unit, he turns into a rampage! He gets faster at killing everything and there is no way to stop him! So you better don't get close.
When his rampage stopps, he will directly move back to his main location.
The monster also won't take a break on a cliff and look into the sea anymore. He will find a new position quicker than before

[h2]Building Design Rework[/h2]
The archery was really basic and could lead to confusion, that the archers in the building were already spawned units.
To reduce confusion and add more details the archery got a rework.
The stronghold got some features added, too

[h2]New Economy[/h2]
With new ways of getting gold and gems, we also adjusted all prices and rewards.
Also the "Strength" and "Defense" Potion are no longer purchased with gems but with gold

Level Changes[/h2]


  • Reworked Hero Tutorial map. It shows now that the hero spell can deal damage and knock back units
  • Reworked Wildfire
  • Decreased fire speed on "Wildfire" and "Deep Forest" on hard
  • The multiplayer map "Flower Power" reworked a little to be more balanced
  • The mission "Shooting Cliff" now has the bridge build up right at the beginning to reduce confusion
  • The mission "Mountains" now has the bridge build up right at the beginning to reduce confusion
  • The mission "Spooky Lights" has one less monster wandering on the main road
  • Small adjustments in "Trunks" so that units can move better
  • Changed some lights in the darker levels on the night island


[h2]Shop Improvements[/h2]

  • When you don't have enough gold/gems for a item, a popup will appear with the missing currency and not first ask if the you want to buy it
  • Added a purchase loading window - a walking unit animation
  • When you open the shop, the item you have currently equipped will be selected from the start
  • Items in the shop are now more centered
  • Clicking outside the shop will close it
  • Shop is now more cleaned up
  • The Preview for skins and heroes will update at hovering over the item. Clicking on the window will perform the main action (buy/equip)
  • Improved animation of the taps on the left


[h2]Gameplay Improvements[/h2]

  • The current selected hero will spawn 5 seconds after the round has started (except tutorial). The spawn prefers a stronghold at the start
  • Increased Torin's ult duration to 15 sec
  • Unit Upgrades are not only visible through their better weapons, but now also in their circle below. The Amount and Color of circles will show the upgrade level of the Unit
  • The hero will always be in the middle of the formation
  • Improved selection and move command of units
  • Reworked attack reset. Now attack behaviour depends on if and when the unit dealt damage to the enemy. Results into smoother movement and attacking behaviour
  • Buildings and Bridges now prefer soldiers over archers and knights for upgrades. Poor soldiers
  • Archers are now more careful and have their bows out when they stand still, ready to fight
  • Improved Arrows of Archers. They now have a fixed velocity and look better
  • Flamethrowers are not effected by the fog of war anymore. That means they and their fire are always visible
  • When a item has a duration (like "Strength" and "Defense"), their duration after activation is shown as a bar above the hero bar
  • Items now have visual effects
  • "Strength" and "Defense" potions now have double the duration
  • Improved scrolling and zooming
  • Improved visuals of the Circle that activated spheres in the missions "SphereFear" and "Interruption"
  • When the unit gets stuck against another unit for half a second, he gets agressive and will start an attackmove to the destination
  • Units will stop moving when the round is finished
  • Added sounds to unit commands (select, move, attack)
  • Adjusted tutorial animations and voice
  • Multiplayer now gives a better reward for winning
  • Hero exp gained from winning rounds are increased
  • The lightning strikes in "Path of Electricity" and "Mountains" now have a indicator before they strike down
  • Reduced the sound volume of soldier's attack a little
  • Shooting tower now have a attacking sound

[h2]Overlay Improvements[/h2]

  • Added Animation for claiming daily rewards, shop purchases, daily quest rewards and victory screen reward
  • Added counting animation on gems and gold when a change happened (like purchase or claim of rewards)
  • Besides your current unit count there is now also the maximum size your army can achieve
  • New button design for the unit type selection ingame
  • There is a new option in the pause menu: Settings. It opens the same window as in the worldmap
  • When the tutorial ends there will be no library shown like before to reduce confusion. You can still find it in the profile window
  • Each stat now has a little tooltip as explanation
  • Dropdown options in the options menu are now bigger and closer to the button
  • Adjusted victory screen
  • In the mission preview you can see which hero you have currently selected
  • improved readability of texts in the worldmap
  • The levelname will be shown on top of the pause menu

  • When you move into a Portal there will come a portal visual effect. It's like a loading screen, only cooler
  • Improved the performance on the worldmap
  • Added transition animation when entering a level or worldmap
  • When zooming far enough out, a map will pop up where you can click on the portals to directly teleport to that island

New Gameplay Mechanics

[h2]What's new(Highlights):[/h2]


  • Two new gameplay mechanics! Thunderstorm and Sphere Dome
  • Thunderstorm is a dangerous area to be around where you can get hit by a lightning strike. Are you up for the challenge? Play it in "PathOfElectricity" and "Mountains"
  • Sphere Dome is a protecting Sphere around Buildings. To deactivate, you have to find it's platform and stand on it with a unit. When the building gets captured, the dome disappears. Play it in "Interruption" and "SphereFear"
  • New multiplayer map: "Total Chaos"
  • New achievement: "don't get burned" - win wildfire in hard without losing a unit to the fire
  • Archers now attack random enemies in their attack range, this results into a more fluid combat you can now reset your hero stats
  • You now get a error message when its not possible to connect to the server and save/load your progress


[h2]Balancing:[/h2]


  • The AI in "Flowerland" now won't upgrade their buildings and therefore be easier to win
  • Reduced the amount of towers in the multiplayer map "Obstacle Course" and added a new bridge

  • Updated localisation, this will hopefully fix a start-up bug for some players
  • Fixed a bug where in "Flowerland" captured buildings went invisible

New balancing, hero skill system and bug fixes

  • Library: Holds Information about all Units and Buildings. You can open it in your profile window or at the end of the last tutorial level.
  • Hero skill system: With each level you gain a skill point. In your profile window you can increase the stats of your hero.


[h2]Achievements:[/h2]

  • Updated icon for 'A new hero rises'
  • Added 4 multiplayer Achievements


[h2]Usability:[/h2]

  • Added 3 new buttons for easier selection of unit types
  • Added Shortcuts for type selection (1 -> all Soldiers, 2 -> all Archer, 3 -> all Knights, 4 -> Hero)
  • Moved additional grouping from 1-5 to 5-9
  • You can now move the camera up and downwards with your arrow keys
  • When you hover over your herobar, it gets transparent
  • When your Resolution is low, the view gets adjusted

  • Improved AI behavior
  • Added items to the victory rewards, adjusted the probability to get gold, gems and items
  • Changed deep forest level to a second wildfire level. The level is now larger
  • Reduced the amount of enemy towers in levels

  • Multiplayer leaderboard search is now up to 100 entries.

[h2]New balancing:[/h2]
Hey everyone, we had some comments in the community that many matches results into using f2 (select all) and sending all units to the enemy to win.
Thats why we took our current balancing, threw it out the window and rebuild it from scratch.


  • [h3]Reduced spawn times of all Units and movement speed of normal soldiers[/h3]
    With more testing of the new balancing, we figured out that the reason why f2 was so powerfull is because units die quickly and respawn way too fast.
    There will be a main point of conflict between both players and it would never stop, since units can be send back to the front so quickly.
    So the main goal was to make units and the production slower.

  • [h3]Units have 30% bonus armor in their own tower range[/h3]
    Another point was that the attacker always had an advantage, even though his Units take longer to get back to the front.
    That is because the attacker can block the production of a single building of the defender, which in most scenarios is enough to get ahead.
    For that reason we decided to give units in their own tower circle bonus armor.

  • [h3] Shooting tower now deal 40 damage and also increase the total Unit count by 8[/h3]
    The shooting tower didn't feel that usefull in earlier versions because even though it deals good damage, having a production building instead was more usefull.
    That's why the shooting tower now deals even more damage, but also increases the total count of possible Units by 8.
    This way, it increases your army size and also is a good point for defense

  • [h3]Adjusted stats of all Units[/h3]
    To make a more balanced army more usefull, we adjusted the values of all Units to mark their purpose more clear.
    For example, Soldiers have more Armor to defend the archers, who can deal much damage but die quickly.

  • [h3]The level of the building now stays when swapping from a production building to another one[/h3]
    It is really punishing, when you upgrade a building and then want to change for other unit types.
    Therefore the upgrade level stays the same when you change to another production building.

  • [h3]Knight Upgrades have the same cost and times as other unit types[/h3]
    Since the spawn rate of units got lowered we decided to lower the cost for knights upgrades.

  • [h3]Upgraded Units now have more HP[/h3]
    To keep the dynamic of longer fights the units will also gain extra HP to hold on longer fights


We will also concentrate on future maps to have a wider space of movement so that it won't always result into a single point of battle,but to more smaller fights across the map.
We will keep an eye on the new balancing and improve it.

User interface improvements and bug fixes

Fixes:
- Changed the team of the shooting towers in "Interruption"
- Fixed navigation problems in "Build the Bridge" and "Sphere Fear"
- Fixed camera position in "Gloomy Harvest" and "Bridges"
- Fixed the moonlight on the Night Island in Worldmap
