Hey everyone, I'm actively working on a Switch port at the moment but I'm not forgetting about you, the Steam players! I've been wanting to add a solo training mode for a while, and I'm finally working on it.
This is not normal Dashpong but with AI opponent but a different mode where you can go through different "levels" to "train". Think about target mode, fighting the original Pong paddle, defend mode, etc.. It's still in developement so playtest won't start right away and I'm still open to ideas so if you want to see a specific training mode that could work well in solo, let me know!
You can register right now, head over to Dashpong page and click register! You'll be notified when the playtest is open.

See you soon
I've been testing Dashpong many times on the Steam Deck, and believe the game is 100% compatible, and plays fantastic on the device! I have a native linux build to ensure the best compatibility possible. You can easily play with multiple people by connecting controllers to the steam deck and it works well. Please use the comments on this event to let me know your experience with the game on Steam Deck.
I fixed some resolution bug for bigger display. If you ever had weird visual artifcats when playing on a big resolution display, please try again! I fixed some things with gamepad vibration and some special modes.
Modifications
- Sliders can now be smoothly adjusted with joystick and with bigger increments with dpad
- Remove resolution setting (was not changing resolution but window size)
- Maximize window in borderless window mode
- Gravity well special mode is more usable. Ball should get stuck in the well.
Bug fixes
- Shrink and grow visual bug
- Game glitches visually when resolution is too big (above 2K I think?)
- Gamepad vibration doesnt stop on some devices (linux?). Temporary fix just disables vibration on these platforms.

Enjoy and don't forget to try the Winter update :)
The game would crash when restarting after playing the new special mode.. oops Should be good now! Enjoy :)
Hey guys, it's officially winter and so I thought bringing a small winter update to Dashpong would be cool
I've added a new Ice map and a new special mode called Gifts. In this mode, Santa crosses the map and drops gift. When you open the gift by dashing on it, you can either freeze the enemy, freeze your own goal (as a protection) or freeze the opponent's side, making it slippery. What comes out of the gift is random and applies automatically.
I've also added a new dynamic camera option! It's enabled by default but you can switch back to the static camera at anytime by toggling it off in the settings. I personnaly really like the new camera, it feels like you're in the game more.
I hope you'll enjoy this small update, and see you tomorrow for the Winter Sales!

If you're wainting for sales, Dashpong will be discounted for the winter sales (with the biggest discount so far!), so stay tuned for that. Grab a friend and enjoy the demo ;) PS: Stay tuned for the winter update releasing on 21/12 with a new map and a new special mode!

That's it guys, Dashpong is finally released!
I planned the release for Friday to give you the weekend to play with friends, I hope you'll be able to!
Don't forget to use the Remote Play Together to play online with a friend, you only need 1 game for that.
If you have any problem, don't hesitate to tell me, the best way is probably to create a community post or on my Discord server.
If you enjoy the game, please give it a review! It's super important for us indie devs to have the first 10 reviews as fast as possible, as Steam will push the game more!
Anyway, enjoy the game and see you soon for new updates :D
PS: I didn't manage to stream unfortunately as my internet connection was too unstable.
The day has come! Dashpong is out, so let's enjoy some gameplay :) Thanks everyone for the support! EDIT: I have to stop the livestream as my internet is horrible... thanks to my amazing provider for its amazing fiber optics upload speed of 1mb! I'll try again later
Hey everyone,
Dashpong releases next week (October 28th) and I'm super excited!
I made a new devlog talking about my preparation for release, how I decided on a release date, etc.. If you want to jump straight to the video, click below!
[previewyoutube=-azLB8Brzas;full][/previewyoutube]
I'm not going to lie, deciding on a release date was not an easy task. I've been struggling to work on Dashpong for a few weeks now, and I was starting to hate the game.
During development, I had a lots of ideas for the game. I wanted to add many things, I was really excited. When I decided to release the game, I had to face reality and decide what features should be kept or not.
I don't want you to buy the game thinking things will be there and then be disappointed because they're not. Let me get straight to the point:
I decided to remove the tournament mode, the solo training mode and AI opponents.
It doesn't mean they're gone forever, and for example I know that AI opponents can be really useful, so I'm probably going to work on it for a future update.
At release, you'll have the classic mode, the arcade mode with all the special modes and a custom mode to select various things: player size, speed, duration, etc.. Of course you can still play up to 4 people and even in asymmetry (2v1 or 3v1).
I have updates planned for Dashpong, with new maps, new game modes, so stay tuned for that!
Thanks everyone for your support, see you at release :)
Dashpong will release on October, 28th! Mark the date, and in the meantime, you can try the demo!
It's been more than one year, and I want to to thanks everyone for the support, feedback and ideas. It's been a blast working on the game and even if it wasn't as fast as I thought, I'm still very happy.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the game, and I'm excited for the release and the future! I have tons of things planned for future updates.
PS: The date is not yet visible on Steam, the build has to be reviewed first
Hotfix because I introduced a bug in the previous version! The match finished screen would show when pressing pause. It should be fixed now!
Additions
- Add icons to show what gamepad to use in color selection
Bug fixes
- Match finished screen would show when pressing ESC to pause (oops)
This update changes some visual stuff and fixes some minor bugs. Here's a list of what changed:
Additions
- Lots of particles effects (when hitting the ball hard, touching wall, hitting the paddles
- Make goals blink red on match point
- Make the shockwave the same color as the player who scored
- Able to select color during team select
Modifications
- Play shockwave from the correct position during replay
- Modify goal voices
- Add background sprite to HUD score
Bug fixes
- UI not shown again after replay is skipped
- Map stuck in red gradient ,when pressing replay after a match point
- After a replay, the score particles on the match finished are still showing
- On a second match after pressing replay, match finished wont appear when winning
- Match finished animation doesnt always put the score at the top
- Countdown not counting after replay when skipped
The last update was on June, so it was time to update the demo as I'm working on making the game more stable but also more juicy! Here's a list of what changed:
Additions
- Lots of particles effects (when hitting the ball hard, touching wall, hitting the paddles
- Bunch of SFX to special modes
- Match point message when one goal left is needed to win
- Language selection screen and setting (not available in demo for now)
- Custom mode (ball size, number, player size, strength, dash duration, etc.. (not available in demo for now)
- Controls scene added for gamepad
- Achievements
- In game messages (shot on goal, save, epic save)
- In score messages (dominating, own goal, scoring spree, spree break, perfect)
- Voices for goal messages
- Steam autocloud (useful to sync settings)
Modifications
- Replay always disabled in demo (until it's completely implemented)
- Change the ball's color based on who hit it last
- Make special mode icon visible when selecting
- Paddles blink stronger before disappearing
- Easier way of joining/ready on team select. Now using only A and B buttons
- Players paddle indicator is now on/off (full glow when you have paddle left, no glow when you don't have paddle)
Bug fixes
- Fix: player can get stuck between paddle and wall (hopefully it's fixed forever now!)
Hey guys, Since my last devlog here, I published two devlogs on YouTube! In the first one, I dive a bit deeper in the time rewind mechanic. I explain how I got the idea, how I implemented it and what were the challenges. I also talk about all the changes that happened in Dashpong, and there was a lot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6senbbMsi8M After that, two game designers from the Let's playtest youtube channel played my game and made a video to give me feedback! It was an awesome and very valuable experience. I'm already working on some of the stuff they suggested. If you want to see more, I did a react video [previewyoutube=PsceIoUYRKc;full][/previewyoutube] I'm working on lots of boring stuff at the moment (stability, localization, etc..) so I'm probably going to reduce the number of devlogs or focus on cool features such as the replay functionality, or some special modes! Let me know if you want a devlog on something specific! Byyyye
Hey guys , it's been a long time since my last devlog, and I wanted to write a few words before doing my next video about Dashpong! Development has been going really well, and I just updated the demo. So, if you just want to play, download the latest build and enjoy ;) I don't think I'll be able to list everything that happened since the last devlog, but here we go!
Special modes
I've added lots of special modes, like rewind, multiple balls, gravity wells, world gravity, special balls, and much more! We are approaching 30 special modes, and I still have some ideas. I think I'll soon stop implementing more and make sure everything is stable and enjoyable to play.
New maps
I've created two new maps: Reversed and Pointy (name are temporary, if you have better ideas, please let me know!)
QOL & bug fixes
I've added lots of quality of life features and small bug fixes. You can now select "random" when choosing a map. This will choose a map for you, and will change it at every new game. You can also start a game in asymmetry: 2V1, 3V1, you choose!
Audio
I'm always adding more sound effects, thanks to my collab with Audiopad. At the moment we're working on the ones for the special modes, and there's a lot to do!
General
In game messages
I've added two ways of displaying messages in game: - The first one is when someone scores. Depending on the score difference, or if you're on a streak or many other possibilities, it will display a message with the score, such as: DOMINATING, SCORING SPREE, etc... I think this is a cool way to make scoring even more interesting. - The other one is when you save the ball or shoot on goal. If you manage to stop the ball with your character in front of a goal, you'll see a message like: "SAVE" or "EPIC SAVE". If you shoot on goal but something blocks the shot (like a paddle), you'll see: "SHOT ON GOAL".
Goal replay
I'm working on a very cool feature: goal replay. Just like in Rocket League (a great inspiration for Dashpong), you'll see a replay of the goal after the scoring animation. Of course, it's skippable and you can deactivate it completely in the settings. This doesn't mean that the replays are saved! This is another feature I'd love to implement, but right now I'm stuck because Godot takes too much time to give me the viewport texture each frame. This is hurting performance, so unless it gets better with the next Godot update or if I find another solution, I can't do it.
Awards & stuff
On an another subject, I got nominated for the Colors of Indie] award! I didn't win, but I'm very proud of having being selected. I had to pitch my game in front of 3 people from Mooneye studio and this was a great experience. I'm going to try more award things like this and game conventions in the next weeks/months. I think this can be a great way to let people know about Dashpong. And I think that's it! There's probably way more stuff but I tend to forget as I'm adding so many things in Dashpong.. oops I hope you enjoyed this little text devlog. I'll make a video devlog soon, talking about the rewind mechanic, as it was a pretty interesting one to create. If you want to see more Dashpong stuff, I'm live pretty much everyday on Twitch]. Follow me there and drop by to say hi! Byyye!

Hey guys, Dashpong devlog 7 is here! In this devlog, I'm showing you everything that I redesigned: all maps, the in game animations & the UI and also the progress I've made on special modes. The redesign went really well and I'm super excited for the new look. I feel very confident now and designing more content is easier than before. In terms of special mode, I already have more than 10 implemented in the game, that I'll be playtesting soon. I'm always adding more and I'm open to suggestions! I still have a lot of stuff to do, but it's going in the right direction imo. I can't wait to show you more. Byyye
In this livestream, I'll be live, ready to reply to your questions. We can talk about Dashpong, the future of the game, when I hope to release it, etc.. I'll there for about an hour to reply to everything! I'll also showcase some gameplay at the same time, so stay tuned! See you there ;)

The Steam Next Fest has officially started, and you can try the Dashpong demo! Enjoy the game solo with the training mode or with friends (up to 4 players!). There might be an issue if the controller vibration is set to none (the game crashes). If that's the case, go in the game's settings and make sure controller vibration is either soft or normal! If you have any problem running the game, please tell me! Here are all the ways you can contact me:
