Pricing Changes

G'day, I have seen a spike in purchases in the past two days. If you are able to refund yourself please do so. This goes for anyone else who bought the game since launch if you can refund yourself please. Refund yourself. The reason being is I am currently in the process of making this game free via valve, this will take approximately a week (according to valve) to be put into action. Regarding Unity Technologies Runtime Kneecapping Charges

Unfortunately after todays announcement from Unity Technologies Necore Towers updates have been further delayed. I am not a full time developer anymore and I have been focusing my efforts on an engine of my own for a while as a hobby. Thankfully I had already started on this engine so its not a huge issue for me personally but what they have done is a pure scum act. Anyways, any updates I had in progress for the Unity version of the game are not going to be implemented and wont be in until I can port it into my own engine or an open source alternative such as godot in which case I will add them during the port. Necore Tower, will be available to play until just before it reaches the threshold of installs, at which time it will pulled temporarily from the store and will be ported to my engine or an open source alternative, meaning save games will break and will take a bit of time to be ported. Unity Technologies has become scum and will no longer be used to build my games.

Minor Update - Stability Improvements

Changes:

Linux improvements are queued, however, a bug regarding missing UI art in some circumstances on the latest Ubuntu LTS is holding back that progress.

Necore Warriors

G'day lads, I hope your holidays were great. I have news to share all of which is good. As you know, "Necore: The Thunder King" is the next title due and is planned to take a few years to complete, not only because of the size, story and amount of work it will take to complete, but also because I am not a full time game dev any longer. I am a heavy metal fabricator, so that now extends the time for development. All this to me that is fine, I bloody love being a fabricator, however, I have to make it known so that if you feel as though I am not posting enough or you aren't seeing regular enough updates, know that they are happening, I am just not posting about it constantly. Now on to even better news. In light of the next big title taking longer, due to reasons above and the desire to contract some awesome talent to help with making anime style trailers and cutscenes for the next big title. I have been working on a much smaller title, similar to Necore Tower's size, however this will have more gameplay elements to it and is much more entertaining to play as a game, I do focus heavily (and will continue to do so) on story and environment more than gameplay as that is what I personally enjoy most about a game. The new title is called Necore Warriors. Necore Warriors is a turn-based strategy game cross rpg, so it's borderline, a tactics-rpg. You'll travel back centuries before the events of Necore Tower and battle through ten strategic levels to discover the story behind the realm's greatest war. Along with your standard units, ranged and melee, you have one hero in each level. Different heroes have different special abilities, level them up using skill points earned to unlock new ones and gear up before battle to ensure you have the right ability for the right situation! Beware tough enemies, learned in the ways of the dark arcane, they too have powerful abilities that can wipe you and your units from the battlefield in a matter of turns! If this has piqued your interest it is available now to wishlist. The screenshots currently listed are greybox shots from in the engine and are due to change. Price Changes

Due to an inability to send gift copies from some countries, pricing is changing to allow for international gifting in those countries. Affected Countries: Australia UK region Canada New Zealand USA Europe region The price will be lowered to 2.99 USD once approved by the system and is set to use automatic exchange rates. This may become a price increase in some countries and a price decrease in others. More news regarding Necore: The Thunder King is yet to come, but I can say this, the steam page is prepared it is just missing artwork.

Update 29-10-2021

A bunch of changes have been made, prices of upgrades have increased player stats have changed significantly, and a fix has been made to the final boss to ensure intended design. Other Additions: - A secret has been added in the base and will only occur during a very specific state. Hint: "I am under no obligation to make sense to you". - A mini-game has been added and is currently only available via a hidden NPC once you have completed L9.

22-10-2021 Stat Update and Rebalance

This update will unfortunately reset stats, however, should no longer have an issue with Demo players having an overflow in Armour from an old setting. Drop rates have been increased and the wording in some quests has been updated to help assist the player when making a decision on what to buy or where to go next. Necore Tower Redux Edition Demo Update

After receiving some feedback, the demo version has received an update placing an interactable object in one of the available levels that will make it far easier to obtain the max currency achievements. This object will not be in the full version of the game, however similar objects do exist further up in the tower. You may notice something about it which is purposefully designed the way it is. Necore Tower - Redux Edition Official Release Date!

Necore Tower - Redux Edition finally has a release date. Initially set for OCT 20 @ 11:30pm it has been changed by valve. However, it is only a two hour difference. The new time and official release date is October 20th 2021 @ 9:30pm Pacific Daylight Time. Demo Final Build Now Available

With the upcoming release date October 20 @ 23:30 PDT (OCT 21 2021 Australia) the final demo build has just been released. Requirements: If you have played the demo before, starting a New Game via the main menu is advised. Changes: - Added a Save and Go To Main Menu button in the pause settings - Updated the Control Configuration Manager in the Main Menu. The new 0.9.5a demo is now available for Necore Tower - Redux Edition Requirements: Make sure to choose the "New Game" option in the menu if you have played the demo before as the save system has been updated to fix a bug with quests and dialogue. Choosing New Game will delete old game data and start you fresh. Fixes: - Fixed mana store showing current value instead of max value for mana capacity. - Fixed a bug that caused Physics to misbehave with AI navigation - Fixed a bug where some achievements would not show the unlock prompt UI from steam. - Fixed a bug where performance would diminish severely while playing with the audio sliders. Update Log 13 - Part 1

Update log 13 has been a longer one than expected, sure, I could just sit down and bang out logic for each enemy and have a massive cluster of repetitive spaghetti code, but I have not and will not be doing that. Instead I need to develop in-house tools for the development of AI behaviour, and AI driving/steering. For that I needed more time to research the best method for my use case, so as to have one that I could use to accomplish this task, and have it carry over into future projects. Thus we reach why only part 1. This update is going to take a while to get done. It does not delay the release of the game, however, until it is implemented at a base level with adequate micro interactions, there will be no progress videos (which will be part 2). However, there will sometimes be gifs over on twitter so if you're interested in seeing those go check out the account here: https://twitter.com/outbackgames So while completing this research and development phase to move on (upgrade) from the original and simple FSM AI implementation: - new UI designs have been created, - the new Start Screen -> Main Menu flow is implemented, - The New Game and Saved Game detection is implemented - Audio Settings and accompanying UI and persistence has been implemented - Scene Fading - Corruption Detection for save files - First draft of corrupted save, support document is ready - All original quests are designed and written into the engine. - All original dialogue is implemented - Cutscene tracking has been updated - Crimson Guard transitus system is ready - UI Sound effects are implemented for the main menu, just need linking in other menus. - Ambience audio is now added under the music track. - Added auto barking for certain NPCs while the player is within range. A speech bubble will appear over their heads while barking. (Idea was inspired by FFXIV and other MMO &| RPGs that use barks for hidden/extra dialogue) - Implemented Quest Exclusive loot tables. - Enemies now drop loot where as in the original they did not. (That was done by choice in the original to fit thematically into what I was intending, however, with all the changes, this approach is warranted.) Anyways that's it for this update, I will get to a new video soon, but I will not rush this AI tool out just for content So until then stay safe lads! Turns out covid was coming and my old farmer's knee was acting up, so to speak. There's been loads of changes, a lot of art creating in aseprite mostly, reason is for the Button indicators that swap out when you add and remove a gamepad from the system on PC and it will automatically, swap to gamepad for console builds. There's now proper layer ordering for characters and props that can be either in front or behind the player. New control layout for gamepads and much more! So be sure to watch the full video! You know how you have those weeks where you're plugging along making great progress and then wham out of nowhere you get a glowing red hot bar railed into you? Necore Tower brings some of the modern and refined ARPG concepts together with the nostalgia of the old and the original. Necore Tower is a top down, heavily story driven, Dark Fantasy, action role playing game, designed to bring you into the world of Necore before the release of the first full title "Necore: The Thunder King", which takes the elements of Necore Tower and greatly extends upon them.

Necore Tower is a retro-style experience that is geared towards story over gameplay. Discover the full story by adventuring off the beaten path in each floor.

Climb through floors once bustling with religious pilgrims and passer-by vagabonds. Purge the darkness from the tower as you ascend and discover our hero's fate at the tower's spire. That is, if you can make it that far.


Word had just been received by the royal scouts that there was trouble at Necore Tower. When that word reached the King's ear, for in fear of the return of the Dark Arcane Wielders, newly crowned King, Garlen Hastein, swiftly rallied his troops and his most faithful protectors, the Crimson Guard to march on Necore Tower.

In an attempt to avoid detection by whomever or whatever had tainted the tower, Garlen brought his troops to the rear entrance of the tower. The pilgrim's entrance.

However, it seemed that it was all in vain, as no sooner had Garlen entered the clearing, a tree, that had been standing strong for millennia, fell, nearly crushing him and those behind him to death. Upon further investigation, the tree had been warded with ancient magic, an ancient magic that made Garlen shiver.

Trapped now with limited supplies, a few of his Crimson Guard and Samuel Blackthorn his Family's most entrusted protector. Garlen must ascend the tower and defeat whatever may be waiting for him.

But, can it be done?....


Necore Tower uses a rogue-like death system. Dying will cause your progress up the tower to reset, however, your stats and upgrades will remain.
Collect gold, ore and gems by busting open barrels, splitting massive geodes, cracking open chests and slaying enemies, as you ascend the tower to upgrade your stats and purchase life saving potions. Pickup mysterious quests as you travel through the main story.
