It was believed that prior to the invention of the internet  people used to just sit around bored, saying things like, "I wish someone would invent the internet...". All credibility to this claim has been washed away, though, as archeologists have discovered non-digital games that they call "bored games" which were used to amuse people as they waited for technology to advance. The Game of Ur is one such bored game invented between 2600 – 2400 BC, making it one of the oldest in the world.

This is a recreation of that game. Unlike the original creators of this game, who could only comprehend the world in 1D, this game is enjoyable in 3D which is more palatable to a modern and sophisticated audience.

RULES

  • You take turns rolling 4 binary dice (coins flips in the game). You must move one token exactly that amount. If you have no valid moves then you turn is skipped.
  • The goal is to get all your tokens along the board, down the middle row, and back to home. You get a token to home you must roll the exact amount you need.
  • The middle row is not safe. opposing tokens can take an occupied space, knocking the other token back the start.
  • Landing on one of the rosette tiles (the ones with gold) will grant the player another roll. The rosette in the middle row is also safe and cannot be taken by an opposing token.
  • The winner is the player to get all their tokens around the board.
