STORY The player, controlling The Mage, is tasked with balancing the amount of sunlight and moonlight in the rooms of a long lost temple through ritual braziers scattered about. Deep within the temple is a powerful sorcerer who has corrupted the moon, Lua itself, turning all light reflected from it into corrupting beams of terror. However, the moon is not the only thing sullied; on The Other Side, a reality oppositional to our own, the same sorcerer works to turn the sun into a dismal ball of hellish flame, obliterating all its scorching light touches. However, these two evils are brought to balance by their opposites; In our world, the sun, Sol, is a boundless source of holy light, cleansing the evils that plague our world. On The Other Side, the moon has been blessed to purify the hellfire of the sullied star, casting down beams of salvation and serenity. Our player is given two items; The Dial, a powerful artifact capable of turning time forward by 12 hours, and The Mirror, an enigmatic looking glass that lets the viewer peer and step into The Other Side. Using these, they will bring balance to the temple grounds through the capture of the braziers in order to increase the concentration of that light in the room, and removal of any foe found inside by way of pitfalls located all throughout, from the noble Paladins and blessed Lost Worshippers, to the infernal Knights of Fire and corrupted Lunar Undead. Yes, even those that seek to cleanse the evils must be stopped, before they eradicate them fully. After all, there cannot be day without night... |
