In Host.Havoc, you'll take control of a computer virus infecting a network of computer, hoping to leech every piece of gold you can out of today's interconnect reliance on technology. But be warned, you aren't the only one who sees the value in hijacking these systems - another virus is on your network, hoping to take the gold from right under your nose!

Godot Wild Jam 67

This jam was Hypernova Studios' first entry into Godot Wild Jam - in fact it was our first real attempt at using Godot. We feel that participating was an excellent learning experience both in Godot, along with longer-timeframe game jams (we'd only participated in weekend jams before).

We want to thank the jam organizers, along with everyone who tries our game. We hope you have fun!


Parasites, Silly Switches, and Grids

We really liked the theme and wildcards for this game jam. We felt like Parasite is really cool and evokes a lot of neat ideas. We went with a digital parasite breaking into computers on a network (you might use the word virus... but we think it should still count).  As for the wildcards - our entire map is a grid, so that likely means we hit Gridlock. Within our settings menu, we have a switch labeled "silliness". This Silliness Switch doesn't do a whole lot - mainly just makes the popup panels skewed. We had high hopes of adding more content to this switch, but that was superseded by more pressing matters with the game. We couldn't find a way to fit a rock-paper-scissors mechanic in the game, but we look forward to seeing any other submissions that tackled that challenge.


HTML Version on Mac

Unfortunately, we learned too late in the jam that HTML exports in Godot 4 are a bit wacky on MacOS. We didn't know this before starting the jam - see above about our inexperience with Godot. However, from our testing, our game does indeed appear to work fine on the web in MacOS - it just take a while to load, and it appears to freeze while doing so. So as a workaround, we have provided a downloadable version of the game for all systems, but you are free to use the web version as they have the same content.
