The cactus: voted Planet Earth's least huggable plant for twelve thousand years in a row, and counting.

After a freak laboratory accident alters their DNA, a breed of superintelligent cacti must escape to the only place where they will be free of bored executives that want to keep them as decorative ornaments in little pots on their office desks: space.

Along the way, they must learn to adapt to the challenges they now face, and take on new roles and new responsibilities, most of which will involve donning a succession of increasingly silly hats.
