Additionally, Nico has been reportedly "working on dice". Barcelona local, Nicols Delgado, denied further comment when asked for elaboration on the issue.

Yet another small update with some minor stuff:
Fixes
- Fixed Ol' Stumpy bug where it was only triggering with Oil-Slicked.
- Fixed visual issue where a party member getting a passive that they already had would show twice in the Overworld.
Mods
- Now you can make an item that makes the party member a main character like Nowak.
- Added Generic text PopUps so you can use any type of popup in-game for your numbers/texts or create a custom one.
- Spawning enemies now let you set their starting health if you want.
- If a modded character did not have unlocks but the modder adds unlocks to them later, their greyed out pearls won't be shown anymore so you know which characters still need to beat the final bosses.
- You can now check the death type of enemies and characters for custom achievements, passives and items.
- Minor fix for Enemy death modded achievements.
- Fixed issue with modded items not having their types properly set up.
- Added some extra functions for Bone Spurs generation in the BrutalAPI.

Another small update with some minor fixes: Fixes
- Added more checks on the Extra Options so it does not break for some players.
- Removed a sound during the interlude dialogue where Nowak was not saying anything.
- Fixed the fonts for the character unlock information that show on the character selection.
- Intent icons now appear over top of Character Field Effects.
- Enemy Shield Field Effect will be properly shown in front of enemies.
- Enemy Bonus attack Passives have now proper pigment costs just in case Mods add them into characters.
- Status Effects now showcase numbers upon decreasing in value.
- Formless now wont reroll if the Enemy has Forgetful and no more abilities are available.
- Made some variables modifiable so Mods have access to them. (Biminis cost, Fogs cost, Bronzos cost, Bronzo fight chance and base chance)
- Enabled some textures Read/Write for Mods to have access to them. (Shop Items, Treasure Items, Passive Icons, Attack Icons, Status and Field Effect icons)
- Prepared the Healing function to return any required information that modders might need.
- Added 5 extra custom functions to Status and Field Effects so modders can get crazier.
- Added Default Enemy Ability Sprite into the Enemy Database for easier access. Made the API also automatically set up that Sprite for Enemy Abilities.
- Added OnHealthColorChange Trigger.

- Item "Box of Medals" shop price reduced to 7 (previously 10).
- Item "Ichthys" now has additional secret effect of spawning a temporary Mung party member at the start of combat.
- Additional ability "Penance" from item "Skinned Skate" now costs 1 Red or Purple Pigment (previously cost 1 Red Pigment).
- Swapped the pigment costs of Bimini's "Expire" and "Skewer" abilities.

Notice About the Human Canvas Sale
With every Major Brutal Orchestra update we host a one week sale of Brutal Orchestra. However, with The Human Canvas update, Steam is requesting we choose between a sale for our own update and a different fast-approaching Genre Steam Sale. So to do both, we are delaying this sale until a month or two in the future so we can use the sale to spotlight some exciting mods the Workshop offers!
What's next for Brutal Orchestra?
Well, you may recall our previous post mentioning a Vinyl Kickstarter for Brutal Orchestra. Those plans will still come to fruition but our release window has been impacted by Talia's other project Clown Meat needing a bit more time in the oven. We aren't confident if the vinyl will still be a Kickstarter but we are confident it will be happening once our schedule clears up a bit. For the next little bit, Nico is going to get some well-deserved rest as this update is almost entirely his creation. Once Talia returns from the world of Clown Meat, discussion will need to be had regarding whether there will be more Brutal Orchestra either as a content update or even potentially a DLC... Clown Meat is a Precision Platformer with an emphasis on speedrunning and replayability. Tumble through a butchered world where humanity is barely a memory on your nave journey to cheer up the monolithic clown that came from the Depths of Jupiter.
In fact, Clown Meat features Nowak (and Bosch) as playable characters!
Talia also released a super small and horrible gamejam titled Eros Wept which I advise against playing.
What has Nico been up to?MobyDong
Nico's focus this year has been primarily taking care of his family's health and spending time with his loved ones. Despite that, Nico has created a real-time game mode for Brutal Orchestra. It's fully playable but a pretty dramatic departure from the gameplay you expect from Brutal Orchestra!! [previewyoutube=UNFKMwtlXHQ;full][/previewyoutube] This new game mode is actually an homage to a much earlier iteration of Brutal Orchestra where the game was tentatively called "Ball Wizards" and was intended to be fully real-time.
Here is a screenshot from a prehistoric iteration of Brutal Orchestra. In fact, you can play this version of Brutal Orchestra right now by opting into the beta branch with the password "ballwizardslives". This is a highly experimental build (that was made in a week) so expect some bugs and general weirdness. This build also uses a new save file so you will have to start from scratch! Will this Realtime mode ever come out in an official capacity? Maybe, we really don't know yet. The Future is Wild and anything could happen.

There have been some difficulties with translating to Non-English/Spanish languages so we want the help of YOU! We live! This year is a quieter one for Brutal Orchestra as Nico and Talia have been primarily working on their respective upcoming games (Clown Meat by Talia) (Munch by Nico).
That being said, the "Loud and Clear" patch is here adding a new type of Homunculus in the Garden, lots of new enemy encounters with existing enemies, and lots of character balance tweaks + new little surprises!
After this patch, our next goal is to release Brutal Orchestra in French, Italian, German, and Spanish (and potentially more languages in the future).
Once that is complete our focus will shift to Steam Workshop support for Brutal Orchestra's outstanding modding community.

- Sacrificial Saint now has a 50% chance to Spawn an Ungod on combat start.
- Homeless Hotline now triggers on turn start to prevent several issues.
- Crooked Dagger now heals 40% of health on kill. (Orig: 10%)
- Caretaker's Cudgel now deals 5 damage. (Orig: 4)
- Violated Pact is now locked behind the achievement "The Ungod's Demand".
- Serpent's Head is now locked behind the achievement "Garden of Earthly Delights".
- Lil Homunculus is now unlocked by default.
- The Brand is now considered a knife.
- Esoteric Artifact now costs 4 instead of 8.

Brutal Orchestra is officially 1 year old!
Its been a crazy year and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who has taken the time to try out our dumb lil game!
To celebrate we added two new items, The Egg of Incubus and The Exquisite Corpse for those crazy people who have 100%-ed the game. (More in-depth patch notes soonish.)
Both these items are themed after Brutal Orchestra's two major content updates we released in 2022.
We have lots of exciting plans for Brutal Orchestra in the new year so stay tuned!

Updates to Brutal Orchestra's Pricing: Hello! This section will be considerably less formal/ominous as I want to be very transparent around why we are increasing Brutal Orchestra's price to 19.99 USD (prices will be adjusted to an equivalent in all other territories). This price change will not effect players who have already purchased Brutal Orchestra. Brutal Orchestra is the largest project Nico and I have ever worked on and we honestly couldn't be more proud of it. The sheer amount of learning and improvement we went through while developing it cannot be put into words, it's truly a project that transformed us as people. However being new developers who had never charged for our work before we severely undervalued our work/time. When it came time to price Brutal Orchestra, we were terrified. We were absolutely frozen solid by the fear of being accused of being greedy, not caring about players or being full of ourselves. When Hellbent Games, our publisher suggested that we price the game at 19.99 USD we (extremely naively) argued that the game should instead be priced at 9.99 USD. This lead to us compromising to a price of 14.99 USD, which honestly was still too low. Brutal Orchestra is a project Nico and I love working on and we still have so much more we want to add but a price point of 14.99 has proven to be too low, both in how much it brings in the door and how much it limits the price range of the potential DLC we have been slowly cooking in the background. After seeing people fall in love with Brutal Orchestra and adding numerous small and large content updates, expanding the game beyond what we originally envisioned, we have finally built up the confidence to charge what Brutal Orchestra has honestly deserved since the beginning. This change will not be immediate as pricing changes take time to be processed by Steam, so you may still have a few days to grab the game before its price update if you really want to squeak in at the 14.99 USD price.

Some small fixes/improvements. Flavour NPC Changes
- The "Funky Cactus" Flavour NPC can no longer appear in normal mode.
- Mordrake will now properly give his related achievement at the end of his quest. This achievement should be retroactively awarded to everyone who has already unlocked it.
- Fixed the item "Someone Else's Wedding Ring".

Don't settle for just killing your enemies, make an example, paint the world red! All bosses now rupture and burst into a baptism of blood upon death.
We have been listening to your feedback and have updated Brutal Orchestra to include better tracking for some of the game's trickier achievements, new tutorials for first time players and unique death messages when dying to bosses that gives some hints on how best to counter them as well as many other changes.

Deep within the Garden the Giggling Minister is waiting. This new enemy has some terrifying tricks up his sleeve, but also comes with a fantastic music track that you may recognize from Brutal Orchestra's trailer.
We have been listening to your feedback and have updated Brutal Orchestra to include a new option to skip combat animations and an option to skip Brutal Orchestra's cinematics as well as many other changes.

Merry Christmas Eve!
We have been hard at work over the past week fixing lots of issues that cropped up after launch. We were not able to get to every issue that we are aware of as the holidays are a hard time to work and we want to make sure we are spending time with our families especially after how crazy launch was.

- Reduced amount of coins required to unlock Anton from 25 to 10
- Changed Splig to consider abandoned party members as dead. (Sorry Retromation.)
- Added Right Click functionality so players can add/remove pigment to/from pigment costs faster.
- Moved Lucky blue pigment UI to the left of the Perform Ability button, so the Fill All button is bigger

Revenge
You died. Someone killed you. You are now in Purgatory and you will never escape. Make a deal with the "demon" Bosch and set off into this brutal and bastardous world, finding all manner of demented and degenerate friends and foes on your quest to get petty revenge.
Pigment:
Purgatory bleeds pigment. It is a strange substance that Bosch has granted you the ability to control. Channeling pigment allows one to perform powerful and absurd abilities. Pigment comes in many colours, each derived from a different source, some even of your own flesh.
Fools:
This may be a place of the dead but even here there are still poor fools eking out a pathetic existence. Some would make for valuable party members or at least entertaining conversation. Most, however, are dim wits or damaged beyond all reason.
Hell:
Purgatory is not a gentle place, it is a writhing dump of all that has died in many worlds. Endless deserts of pale sand are stalked by parasitic fish. Storm-cloaked mountain tops hide ungodly things above and below. The Garden waits for you at the end of time.
