Hey all, Weve uploaded a minor patch that allows for the rebinding of the Grenade-Throw key, so that those with broken middle-mouse buttons can throw grenades. There was also another bug that made the game completion percentage never reach 100% unless youd completed Smaceshis castles too, which is also now fixed. Apologies for the delay on this, and thank you again to those of you who brought this to our attention. SMAC x

Greetings Players! We have a new patch for you today! We address some critical issues and make some additions aimed at bettering the general game experience. Highlighted entities A massive part of Tokyo 42 is the isometric viewpoint and one of the more difficult issues that this creates is the way that a player can get lost behind geometry when rotating the camera. Weve thought about this a fair deal and one of the things we wanted to try was making important entities show up as highlighted when hidden behind the world geometry. So when you next boot up Tokyo 42, you will notice that we have done this. The player is highlighted blue behind terrain, while enemies, bullets & other projectiles are highlighted red. Weve found that this helps the eye keep track of whats going on, and were very excited to hear what you think of it. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYq-t5xuMP0&t=1s Bug fixes & balances We recently released Smaceshis castles and were very happy to see many of you trying the great lord Smaceshis challenges. What we were not happy to see was that some missions were actually impossible to complete. Weve now made sure that all missions are completeable, and have even re-balanced some of the more difficult ones. For this we would like to thank the community for their feedback and patience - youve helped us a great deal. There were various other tiny bug fixes that have made it into this build too , some more important than others - but as always we are available here on the forums or at support@smacgames.com, and would love to hear whatever feedback you have. Happy almost holidays, SMAC x

Hello there friends! Todays patch is a heady mix of sweet sweet content and much deliberated balances.
Content:
- Smaceshis Castles DLC - Test your T42 assassin skills in our newly released challenge-based DLC! Weve had a blast pulling together 90 new missions in a whole new open-world level, and are excited to hear how many of you are up to the task of collecting all of our shiny, precious medals.
- Bishops Itchington Multiplayer map - Tokyo 42 base game owners can take a free visit to the local pub in the West-Midlands English town of Bishops Itchington: The perfect place to unwind and enjoy the countryside.
Balance:
- Difficulty settings - Tokyo 42 is at times a challenging game so we decided to add some options for players whod like to curate their experience a little more There are 3 modes: Easy, Normal and Classic. Easy mode gives the player a shield with 3 charges that act like extra lives - giving them a little bit of wiggle room after an unscheduled meeting with a stray rifle round. It also makes all of the players bullets a little bit faster than normal, making you more deadly than ever. Normal mode provides only the sped-up bullets featured in Easy mode. Weve found that these faster bullets really make the combat more punchy and fun, so this is our recommended level of play. Classic Mode is untouched and keeps the original slightly harder T42 experience available for archivists and masochists alike. The player can switch between these modes any time during single player play, and will have the option to choose their preference when choosing their initial save game.
- Kill markers - Feedback is such an important part of playing games, so weve added a little animation and sfx when you successfully eliminate an enemy.
- Aiming at ground - Rocket launchers and Heavy lasers are only truly useful when they actually explode where you want them to, so weve made the player aim at the ground by default when using these weapons. You can set this behaviour to be standard for all weapons too if you like, via the gameplay options menu.
Bugs:
- There have been various mini little fixes that are making it into this patch, and as always we seriously appreciate the reports that we receive in order to help fix them. So please, feel free to continue to do so either here on the forums or in a mail to support@smacgames.com

Hey all, So this patch is in response to a few serious issues players have been having. Thanks to those of you who have reported these and been waiting for the fixes. We have a few things on the go here and these fixes took a bit longer than they should have - we appreciate your patience. Fixes:
- Weapon Skins disappearing: as a result of a patch pushed recently to allow players to have their skins in multiplayer, players lost access to the skins they had previously collected under certain circumstances. Weve restored these to the player now, and if you go back into the open world you should see that your skins have all returned.
- Bike not spawning on entering the open world: The flag being checked to determine whether the player should have access to the bike was not set in time for the spawning manager, meaning that the bike would only spawn once a player did a mission with it in. This is now fixed and when entering the open world the bike will spawn under the bridge next to Yass bar IF you have previously completed a mission with the bike.
- LAN multiplayer is working again: some technical issues slipped through the gaps with this and have now been addressed.

Hey players, were back with another little patch. This one is a mix of fixes and features, which is why its been little bit of a longer time coming. Fixes:
- Achievements. For many users the completionist achievement was bugged and their game percentage was never reaching 100%. This has now been fixed and will be verified when a player enters the single player open world and waitd for the game to load. Pressing GO at this stage will trigger any achievements they are still warranted.
- Use key and Map key binding. Previous the player was unable to map these keys to their own chosen keys. This is now possible.
- Player skins in Multiplayer. Player is now able to correctly display any skins (Cat, coat or weapon) they may have earned in Singleplayer during a Multiplayer match.
- Text size increase. The text in the game has been generally enlarged to provide better visibility. This was especially an issue with players playing on a big screen from a distance.
- Multiplayer lobby chat. Players can now communicate via a chat window in the bottom right of the lobby screen. There are some known issues with the Input field losing focus when a mouse has been moved during edit. We are still looking at ironing this issue out, but wanted to get the chat out as soon as possible.

Hello, Weve put together a little balance patch for Tokyo 42 single player. It became apparent to us that many of you struggled with a few of the final missions, so we went ahead and nerfed them slightly. Hopefully this will take the sting out of them a little.
-
Final mission: Many of the enemies in the later waves have been removed
-
Wing fight Mission: Wings life span has been reduced greatly
-
Alternative healing: The runners have been slowed down significantly
Hello there, Were back with a patch! This is likely to be the last one for a day or two, but we are definitely working through the feedback weve received so far. On that note, thank you to everyone who is giving us their feedback and for submitting their reports of issues theyve found in the game. Todays main work was put towards getting the multiplayer issues sorted, and I believe we have nailed the major one that was affecting players trying to connect to each other's games. Improvements:
- Region selection - Multiplayer is now qualified by a choice the region you wish to play through. These are: EU(Europe), US(Americas), and AP(Asia Pacific). I recommend choosing the region that best suits your location as the latency through the relay servers we are using can end up being quite bad if you are too far away from the region you are trying to connect to (This may in fact cause a timeout trying to join those games).
- Particular models of Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers were not properly supported before. We are hoping that the fix applied here will sort out some of the issues that some players have been having - please let us know if any issues persist following this patch
- Button sequences that were previously completed in a previous play session would appear uncompleted on the map when loading into the open world until they were looked at, meaning that button-hunters would sometimes think there was a button to pressed, only to become bamboozled at the lack of any actual button to press upon. This no longer happens.

Hello, weve got a little patch here to address some critical issues. First off, we'd like to thank everyone who has bought the game - we really hope it has been delivering some solid funtimes and brain-lovings. Consider this one a hotfix, because there will be another one tomorrow that will fix the prevailing multiplayer connectivity issues people are having. Basically the service we are using for the connection is region locked and does not support cross-region play so we are adding a region selector in for the player to select whether they wish to play on EU, US or PA. As for other issues you may be having, please use the discussions page to report something or go to www.tokyo42.com/support and let us know there. Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue where collecting a weapon in a multplayer match and then going directly into single player without exiting the game first would cause the player to have their inventory overwritten with the multiplayer weapon loadout. To anyone who unfortunately encountered this nasty bug:
You can send me your save games and I can see about getting your stuff back.
I unfortunately will not be-able to know 100% what your inventory state was from the save file, but I will be able to restore your weapon skins accurately, as well as any secret weapons you had picked up in the singleplayer.
The file is located here:
\T42_Data\Managed\TOKYO42\ \T42GameSave.sav Copy that .sav file, attach it to an email with your name as well as your loadout as you remember it before it got lost, and I will reply and get to fixing the file for you. The address to use is support@smacgames.com - Fixed issue where steam cloud saves were only working for installs on the same windows user name. Generally this was affecting users who tried to play across multiple machines. Those users affected should run the game after updating on their original machine - the one that has the save game you wish to keep. Should you feel any save data is lost, please use www.tokyo42.com/support and cite that you are trying to retreive a lost save, they can be retrieved easily.
- Added a collider to a box near the entrance to the Escher maze which you could run/shoot through.
- Stopped civilians/enemies from pathing through the Big Tree at the Commandos forest.
