New game? What?

Welp, long time no see. As most of you might have guessed, Endlanders is frozen in development for various reasons. Meanwhile, we've be working on another title that seems more suited for our 2-man studio, called Dunestake. So what is Dunestake? Dunestake is a single-player auto-battler but with a grim twist. We couldn't bare to make an auto-battler in an already saturated genre without adding some unique flavor to it. In Dunestake, you place bets. You have to figure out what will happen during combat. And you have to stake one of your own units in case you lose. And, if you win, you gain some extra gold that is very necessary in order to progress. If you lose, your unit is sent to oblivion, and you will never see it again. But there's much more to the game than that. Although we put most emphasis in betting. Wanna check out more? Click here!

Patch 1.03! No letter this time!

Hello everyone! Back with patch 1.03, doing some more bug fixing and adding minor things that some players requested! Here we goooooooooooo: Features added :

  • Runes now appear in your map, in case your eye didn't pick em! Picking up a rune also makes them disappear from the map, because... well that just makes sense
  • Added a jingle when you win a battle! Happy winning!
And now the main dish, the bugs:
  • Fixed teleporting while in battle if close to exits
  • Fixed random collisions not working
  • Fixed some more collisions as well
  • Achievements now work! Launching the game should automatically grant you those that you have earned, with the exception of winning the game, sorry about that, but another round you go
  • Fixed shop freezing after completing potion tutorial
  • Fixed shop freezing after translating and spamming back (...)
  • Fixed spamming ESC that leads to the game pausing and the menu not appearing
  • Fixed some parts of the map that weren't exactly 1-1
  • Added some more legacy helpers on the map
  • Changed the 1 to be more... visible and distinguishable from capital I (the letter)
  • Character speech audio looping in some rare occasions where dialogue abruptly ends, and it keeps repeating, making a surreal, interesting, but annoying sound
Our next feature down the line is keybinds, but that might take a while! Did I mention we have a discord where you can give all your feedback so we can fix even more bugs, which is definitely the best part of game-design? Well, here it is: DISCORD Did I also mention we have a KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN RUNNING RIGHT NOW GO CHECK IT GO GO GO GO I JUST POSTED AN UPDATE AS WELL GO GO: KICKSTARTER

Patch 1.02...b!

So, after a few days, ye dev is back at it again trying to fix some mess I unintentionally created when I decided to make a game, and add a few stuff cause why not. New stuff added :

  • Added a new small area that sort of uhhh yea, you need to figure it out
  • Added another ____ thing that you need to upgrade your cards
  • Proper death screen! A nice (I think?) sound plays, and you are re-located back to your spawn. It's still somewhat WIP but it's in a very good phase. Enjoy dying!
And, here is the (somewhat) long list of bug-fixes :
  • Fixed being able to walk outside of area bounds. No good. Definitely not intended.
  • Fixed auto-attack spamming causing the player to not be able to exit combat.
  • Fixed critters getting stuck in random places. Now they will probably get stuck in places that make sense, like between 2 trees or something.
  • Damage listed for Starfall matches damage the card does.
  • Spamming all inputs (for fun I guess) while on combat no longer causes the player to cast 2 spells at the same time
  • Removed the sneaky way to open the debug tool. You can stop sending me DMs about it now.
  • Added a way more sneakier way to open the debug tool. You can resume sending me DMs if you find how.
  • Fixed a bug at the -final encounter- (IT'S A PLAY ON WORDS CAUSE THE PROLOGUE IS NAMED FIRST ENCOUNTER) where the enemy does weird behavior when the player spams enter/exit combat.
  • Added collisions to some places that should have collisions.
  • Music properly stops when the player dies and does not continue and cut to a new track mid-play.
  • Added more collisions to more places that should have collisions.
  • Fixed some sound-effects not popping up (i.e picking up a card or opening a chest)
Lot of work, and lots more to come. Did I mention we have a discord where you can give all your feedback so we can fix even more bugs, which is definitely the best part of game-design? Well, here it is: DISCORD Did I also mention we have a KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN RUNNING RIGHT NOW GO CHECK IT GO GO GO GO : KICKSTARTER

Patch fix 1.01...a?

Hello everyone! A few hours have passed since our Prologue launched, and it seems you've all hunted for bugs! Some of you finished the entire game without problems, others unfortunately had to deal with some minor issues. We're really sorry for that, and we hope you give our game another try, after all, all launches have bugs, and especially small studios without a big net of play-testers can run into a lot of them! We hope you've enjoyed the rest of the game, and without further ado, this is the bug-squashing that we did : -Combat lagging after spamming inputs -Not being able to exit combat properly -Translation freezing if you click exit -Clipping outside of a region (not in the intended way mind you!) -A few hints have been added for a certain fight -Character freezing after transitioning into another area We would like to ask you to be kinder to your controllers! Most of these bugs were replicated by... almost smashing them. Thank you so much for your feedback, and we hope to squash even more and create a better game!

  • Build your deck, glitch through enemies, translate unknown languages and decipher the mysteries of this universe, in this grid-based real time combat indie game.

Endlanders features two main characters with diverging storylines in the same universe, fighting and exploring their way through vastly different planes with anachroninstic themes.

    The game features :

A deck-building system, where cards are instant spells :

A grid-based real time combat, where our two characters have distinct gameplay styles :

And a translation system, where by collecting runes the player will be able to advance the story further :

The game takes place across many planes, and each character visits a few of them, exploring, researching and trying to understand a strange substance called Source, which appears on all living (and some times not) lifeforms. Players will keep their thoughts on their log which is updated throughout the game through interactions.

Each character analyzes the mysteries of this substance in their own manner, offering different insights.

Our two playable characters are :

Cosmos, who has a more combo-oriented fast combat style, and their attacks emphasize by building combo points using "Tempo" cards, and using "Finisher" cards that deal more damage based on the amount of combo points. However if some time passes and they haven't landed a hit, the combo points reset to zero, and since finisher cards deal most of the damage, starting a combo but letting it fall flat will decrease the damage output.

Cosmos is more concerned with the "why" questions regarding this substance, and their log has entries that explore themes of purpose, faith and existentialism.

and Quls, who has a more reactive calculated combat style, and their attacks fill the tank with gas by using "Combiner" cards, or deplete it by using "Diffusant" cards. However being at the edges (full tank or empty tank) might cause unexpected outcomes, such as explosions or debuffs, so the player need to be careful. Being at edges however has its own rewards, since Quls's attacks deal more damage if their chemtank is empty or full.

Quls is more concerned with the "how" questions regarding this substance, and their log has entries that revolve around how to use this substance, how to create it, and it's interactions.

Our characters could be conceived as binary opposites on their thoughts and actions, however the more players indulge on the story the more they will understand that things are more complicated.

The prologue only features the first plane and only 1 playable character, Cosmos.
