Hello, Super Sketchers! It's been a busy morning here at Wayward Thoughts Interactive! Based on feedback from streamers and players, we've pushed out a few fixes for Super Sketch Bob today to improve playability and stability. The game should now be better than ever before! As always, if you experience any issues, please let us know by submitting a ticket at support.waywardthoughts.games. -Reduced game file size by removing all ogg and mp4s, and replacing with webms. -Maybe fixed sound effects not playing after awhile problem (I didn't see it in testing, but send a support request if it still happens!). -Fixed that weird issue where if you tried to jump out of a ledge hang in the opposite direction, you got stuck. -Bob now does a wall kick when jumping out of a ledge hang in the opposite direction. -Fixed options not loading when you die. -Fixed play timer being reset to last saved state when you respawn. -Realigned scorecard costume text. -Changed "object goal" back to "par".

Hi, all. Lead designer Riley here with an update on Super Sketch Bob going forward.
Biting Off More Than I Could Sketch
Looking over the game, the biggest problem was that I bit off more than I could chew. I was a young, dumb 20-something when I started this project in 2014 and my logic was "Well, if 12 people made Super Mario Bros. 3 in 1988 with that era's tech, surely three people can make a similarly sized game now!"

Although I'm a much better game dev now, the cracks definitely show. Around 2018, most of the team went their separate ways as real life got in the way and I finished the game on my own. I'm still proud of what I accomplished, but I can see that it needed more QA and focus testing. A LOT more. I'm still squashing bugs as I find them and making other improvements here and there, though.
The Road Ahead
Even though Frip and Froop's Logical Labyrinth DX is coming out in a few days and Game 3 is in pre-production, I want to make this crystal clear:
I have zero intention of abandoning Super Sketch Bob.
Bob and Liz still hold a very special place in my heart as does every one of you who played this game. I will continue to support it for the foreseeable future with new patches, fixes, and updates. I have every intention of making it as stable as possible and improving the gameplay wherever possible. I firmly believe that games are a living, breathing medium and that developers should take advantage of player feedback to improve whenever possible, even after release. It's crucial to the health of a game and the future of the industry to keep an open dialogue between players and developers and I intend to do just that. Right now, I'm working a day job in addition to working on Wayward Thoughts Interactive stuff, so my time is very much split, but I'm in this for the long haul. Game development isn't just something I do for fun; it's something I've wanted to do my entire life. This is my calling and I don't intend to cut and run; I want to build something here. I want my players to know that I do care about my games and about them. Yes, you. Each and every one of you.
Coloring Over the Blank Spots
If you have any problems with the game, and I mean any problem, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. You can submit a ticket at http://support.waywardthoughts.games and I will personally respond to every request and do my best to make it right. Super Sketch Bob is, and continues to be, a labor of love and I'll keep at it. I hope you'll stick with me as we continue this journey together.

Hi, Super Sketchers! Got a fresh update for you this week with a few minor fixes and a big'un.
- Object preview ghost is now enabled by default and can be disabled in the Modifiers menu at any time.
- Trampolines now bounce you just a little bit higher to make a bigger difference between them and regular jumps.
- Bridges can now be placed while standing on the ground. Not sure why you'd want to do that, but... you can now.
- Trampolines bounce you as soon as you touch 'em. Makes them more useful.
- Fixed an issue where you'd still be wearing costumes if you died after getting them, but it still didn't count as you having collected them and only if you loaded a level from the map with an active save file. That was a weird one.
- Removed Herobrine.

After we migrated the Super Sketch Framework from the older version of our engine we were using to the new version, a lot of new bugs got introduced. We've been working on squashing them as we find them, but some just don't show up on our systems, but do on yours. For this update, we'd like to thank Romulus (@romulusofficial.bsky.social) for reporting a fair chunk of the issues we were able to fix. Thanks, dude! As always, if you find any issue, please let us know so we can fix them! You can email us at support@waywardthoughtsinteractive.com or hit us up on Bluesky @waywardthoughts.games or our director at rileyu@waywardthoughts.games. We appreciate the chance to fix any issues in a game we spent ten years making, so it's GONNA have a *few* bugs, lol. Bug Fixes:
- Realigned Time Trial UI to look nicer/not wrong.
- Fixed the alignment of text on the map screen.
- Fixed an issue where respawning straight didn't work on 2-4.
- Fixed an issue with two of the level exits softlocking the game.
- Fixed an issue with one of the level exits softlocking you in the area exit for 3-Boss for some players.
- Removed Herobrine.

We're proud to announce that Super Sketch Bob is fully playable on Steam Deck using Proton! This should also include save game transfers via Steam Cloud and dynamic sync, so your progress will be saved when you suspend the system as long as you're connected to the internet when you do. We're hoping to get that big green checkmark someday, but until then, we can confirm that Super Sketch Bob runs on Steam Deck. Happy Sketching!

-Fixed a few minor bugs. -Updated the Steam UI so it displays properly! -Added 3 new costumes you can't unlock QUITE yet! (stay tuned!)

Hi, everyone. First and foremost, Id like to thank everyone for being here for this. This is an incredible accomplishment. We made a game! Not our first and definitely not our last. A lot has happened since I first embarked on this project over ten years ago. I was literally a different person and now, at long last, Bob and Lizs story is ready to be told all over the world. Id first like to thank the first person who saw the potential of this project (or maybe he was just bored, its hard to tell) John Wilson. The most talented engineer I know, John has been an asset to this project every step of the way and continues to be the IT persons IT person. Thank you for your continued support, John. We quite literally could not have done this without you. Id next like to thank our QA staff, especially Jeffrey Mintz who has been testing the game at every stage from concept to final and Savvy Cormier who helped provide invaluable feedback on making the game more accessible to disabled players. Thanks to them and so many others, were releasing Super Sketch Bob in an extremely playable state. Super Sketch Bobs soundtrack is a huge part of what makes it such a uniquely wonderful game. Id like to thank all the members of Hearty Har, especially Shane and Tyler Fogerty for licensing their wonderful tracks Dig the Burrows and Coyote for the game as well as Deep Fryd Dynamite and Max Silver for their contributions as well. Of course, the games original tracks are incredible and their wonderful punny names make them even more enjoyable and help bring Bob and Lizs world to life. Thats all thanks to Marc Dyen whose tireless efforts and fantastic compositions made Super Sketch Bobs Super Sketch Soundtrack as incredible as it is. Marc composed over 40 tracks for this game and thats an absolutely insane task. But he did it and he delivered on every single one. We earned that Great Soundtrack tag on Steam for sure and thats thanks in no small part to Marc who never lost faith in us. To all of our musicians, thank you so much for helping make the music of Super Sketch Bob something to remember. There were a number of people who also aided the development of the game indirectly, but were important contributors nonetheless in one way or another. Some of them Im still in touch with, some not. But your contributions do not go unnoticed. Ben Paddon, Adam Sakellarides, Michael Wilson, Jason Brain, Jacob Brenner, Alicia Aihara, Michael Ledoux, Mike Redmond, and of course my mom and my amazing family. Your support of this project means so much to me. Id also like to thank my little sister Carly for being the unwitting semi-inspiration for Liz and to whom Ive dedicated this project. No matter what, weve always had each others backs and we always will. Last, but certainly not least, Id like to thank someone for whom I could not have done this without. Super Sketch Bob, you may have noticed, is a very art-heavy game with a lot of assets, animations, and effects. Though I definitely shouldered a few of those, the style the game now features, the smoothness of the animations, and everything from Bobs adorable smile to Lizs irate scowl and everything in between is thanks to one person: our lead artist Kelly Jensen. Kelly took this project seriously from day one and Id argue that she poured just as much of her heart and soul into it as I did. Kelly, I am honored to have worked with you on this project and I am even more honored to call you my friend. The completion of this project is not my achievement; it belongs to all of us. Every single person who supported us. Who played the beta. Who told me how excited they were to play it. Everyone who dared to imagine along with us. We, all of us, are Wayward Thoughts Interactive and I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say this: thank you for making this dream a reality. If even one person out there finds this game and enjoys it, well have made something worthwhile and, in that sense, this is already a huge success. Super Sketch Bob is, was, and continues to be a labor of love and were just getting started. After our launch today targeting Windows, macOS, and Steam Deck, were moving forward with an internal port of the game to launch on the Xbox family of consoles later this year. I, for one, could not be more excited about our partnership with Microsoft and the Xbox team on this and future projects from Wayward Thoughts Interactive. For now, however, weve more than earned a break. So, lets toast to a job well done, a dream realized, and a story told. To Bob and Liz. To all of you. And to the future. Cheers!

Hello, Super Sketchers! This update will mark the very last update in which the game will be in Early Access: Version 0.8.4. This version is fully playable all the way to the end, including all of the cutscenes and hidden goodies. The only thing missing is the final round of bug fixes and the end credits. The final game, Version 1.0.1, will feature a final stabilizing round of fixes, the end credits, and a few extra goodies, but for those of you who have been patient this whole time, here's an early version of the final game.

They said it would never happen! They said we were crazy! They said horrible things about our mothers, but lo and behold, Super Sketch Bob has gone into BETA!!!
Now, you probably have a lot of questions, so here we go.
What does that mean?
It means the game is officially content complete and fully playable from start to finish!
What's left to do?
At this point, you can 100% the game! That means collecting every costume, Sketch Token, Time Trial Star, and getting an A+ on every single level in the game without using the Infinite Health or Infinite Drawing modifiers. We're now in the arduous process of bug testing every little thing to make sure the game is as stable as possible at launch! That includes the modifiers to make the game more universally playable like slowing the game down, adjusting colors, and hiding the HUD.
Can't you release the game without the modifiers?
We COULD, sure. But we don't see the modifiers as just "bonus content". They're core parts of the experience to ensure accessibility for all players. We even have players with disabilities doing testing to ensure maximum playability for people of all skill levels and needs. Anyone should be able to enjoy this game; that's not an afterthought. It's a core concept of everything Wayward Thoughts Interactive makes.
Is there a definite release date?
I'm so glad you asked, hypothetical person! There is! It's...
MARCH 17TH, 2023
I know. We're excited, too.
Can I be a beta tester?
YOU BET YOUR SWEET SCRIBBLY BUTT YOU CAN! If you already purchased the game, you can fill out this form and we'll send you instruction on how to test the game through Steam and submit bug reports!
https://forms.gle/KQu27znb7PTeUy2A8
I'm so excited!
That's not a question, but yay! So are we!!
See you all on March 17th 2023 when Super Sketch Bob releases live on Steam (and potentially elsewhere??? More info to come...)

Hello Super Sketchers! In addition to the new world, Monograph Mountains, FINALLY being playable, I'm happy to announce a ton of additional quality of life changes to the game including animations for when Bob skids and slides and the addition of costumes to the Achievements menu. The update containing this world and the updates will be along just as soon as testing is finished. This has been a long time coming, but we're on the home stretch now! Just one world remaining, then the finale and the game is finally complete!

Hello, Super Sketchers! I sincerely hope everyone is holding up through these unprecedented times (and I'm sure you're as sick of hearing that as I am). I'm happy to report that solo development progress on Super Sketch Bob is progressing, albeit slower than I'd hoped (because I'd hoped the game would be done by now). But things ARE happening, so allow me to keep you abreast (heh) of the situation. A new mini patch will be coming forth in the next few days once proper testing completes on my end. Here's some of what you can look forward to: Bug Fixes
- Ledge grab fixes (this is a tough nut to crack, but I'm getting there!)
- Some of you may have had timing issues with level exit and opening cutscene animations. I'm happy to report those SHOULD be fixed in the upcoming patch!
- Backend stuff for stability.
- More stuff I'm not going to bore you with here, mostly having to do with code migration to the new version of Construct.
- The costume you're currently wearing shows in the Costume Closet menu.
- Optimized saving and loading (this won't affect existing save files as long as it's from after the ReDoodle update)
- Two costumes previously missing idle animations now have them!
- All 50+ of the base costumes have been added to the game! (They are not obtainable without super secret developer stuff, but the content is there!)
- Added Coconuts (I don't remember what this is, but it's in my commit notes, so it must be important).

Greetings, Super Sketchers! I have good news and bad news. The good news is that after months of setbacks, aggravation, and one or two bruised pelvises (don't ask), Super Sketch Bob development is back on track! I'm currently hard at work on World 4, but I wanted to push another MAJOR update first which I'm calling the Redoodle Update! The ReDoodle Update contains a TON of quality of life fixes and bug patches! Some of these include:
- The new Modifiers menu which lets you tweak gameplay to your own style!
- Improved physics!
- Better menus!
- Improved Time Trial mode!
- Better animations!
- Achievements that actually work!
- Full controller support!
- ...and much more!

Aloha, Super Sketchers! It's been a while, but World 3 is finally playable! The seaside beach world of Sketchy Shores is filled with angry crabs, helpful seagulls, and pirate treasure hidden beneath the waves! With six new costumes to find, 18 new Sketch Tokens, and a TON of new challenges, World 3 is the biggest update to the game yet! Give it a go and remember to submit any bugs here: help@waywardthoughts.on.spiceworks.com

Wow, so it's been awhile, huh? I've been crazy busy adding a ton of new stuff to the game, including World 3 which is not ready just yet. BUT a bunch of new stuff is! Just to name a few:
- Added new Modifiers menu to change the game's difficulty.
- Background work to make the game run more smoothly.
- New Costume Crates!
[ 2019-12-26 04:53:42 CET ] [ Original post ]
RiledUp42: We've squashed some bugs reported by the community and fixed a few other things as well! We added a new collectable called Scribbles which are scattered around the levels. Scribbles represent potential creative energy in the world and you can use them at the Costume Shop to buy bonus costumes we'll be adding periodically as FREE DLC! Don't worry; you won't ever be able to buy Scribbles using real money. Super Sketch Bob is a microtransaction-free game and it always will be! New Features:
- Added Scribbles to World 1 and 2!
- Costume crates now wiggle and sparkle!
- Options accessible from title screen.
- Added Gatcha-esque system to buy bonus costumes to be added post-launch.
- Added two new bonus costumes to test Scribble functionality.
- Added preloader before company logo.
- Added Browncoat's Garb idle.
Full patch notes:
Bugs Squashed:
- Quitting from pause works fully.
- Fixed a bug with Time Trials showing when they shouldn't if you go to a sub-menu and return to the map.
- Options save even if you die.
- Fixed issues with Browncoat's Garb being misnamed in code. (This will not affect saved data, but if you already obtained the costume, you likely did not get the achievement. That issue is now fixed.)
- Blocked off World 3 since it's not done yet. (Originally, World 3 was left open so that you could play the first level. However, because content critical to achievements and proper saving wasn't in the last build, it's been blocked off for now until its content is complete.)
