Progress Report - 2nd Semester 2024

What's up, guys! It's been a while since the last news published here regarding the progress in the development of Episode 4. We're completely focused on the development itself, as we want to deliver the next update to you as soon as possible, and we're very close to that, but while the update does not come, we decided to bring you one more piece of news. Despite the apparent hiatus, we've been actively developing the project, so we'll take advantage of this news to update you on everything we've progressed so far. There has been progress in several areas of the game, so to make it easier to understand, we'll separate them by topic.

The first update after the latest news



It's nothing extraordinary, it's just some renders that are part of a small dialogue that ends the interaction with Sakura, right after her masturbation scene. In this dialogue, you give her the TV remote, fulfilling her request, as she needs to replace the TV remote in Beatrice's room with the new one you just bought at the shop, as the one in Beatrice's room is defective. This has a context in the events that happen on the 5th day, you'll understand better when you play. With these renders and the dialogue that has also been written and inserted into the game, we have definitively completed the interaction with Sakura.







Interaction with Julia - First Part



We have the first part of the dialogue with Julia! As mentioned at the end of episode 3, the main focus of episode 4 is Julia, and now we can say that we're finally getting into that. The entire dialogue between Julia and MC has already been written and the renders are also done. These renders attached to the topic make up the first part of the dialogue. The second part will involve Beatrice, Julia and MC, and we'll see it in the next topic. As you can see in the first image (cover) attached to this topic, we'll be able to visit the gym again. Starting in Episode 4, the player will be able to access other parts of the city by exiting through the bar's entrance door, the one where you hang the sign in Episode 1. At first, the only accessible place will be the gym, but in the future, a menu will be added that will allow access to new locations in the city that will appear as the story progresses.






The Pole Dancer Scene Completed



This was the most laborious scene, due to it being the scene related to Exploration Mode in this episode. Let's talk a little more about the context of the images attached to this topic: The first image (cover) was attached to the topic to show the 3 scenes we already have done, among them, the "The Pole Dancer" scene, which is the one we mentioned in this topic. The other 2 refer to the sex scenes that we have already published in previous news. In fact, this will be a pro of this version, it'll be full of sex scenes, with characters not yet explored in previous versions. As for the other images, they make up the second (and final) part of the interactions with Julia, which is when she goes to Beatrice to talk to her and agrees to become one of the girls in the brothel. We won't give any more details about this so as not to give spoilers, but you can see some images that make up the scene, including some expressions. In our opinion, Julia looked really cute in some expressions like smiling and thinking.








Philip, The First Customer of the 5th Day



After we complete The Pole Dancer scene, we finally started working on the bar scene for episode 4. As usual, every episode you can play the "Being the Bartender" minigame and each day you have different customers who order different drinks. The first customer of day 5 is Philip, the character shown in the preview images attached to this topic. As you can see, there are different emotions for this character present in the images that will make up the dialogue between him and the MC. Luna can also be seen in the background of the scene serving customers wearing her famous purple lingerie. All the dialogue has already been completely written and the renders that make up this scene are also done.







Loen, The Second Customer of the 5th Day



This topic is about the second customer of day 5: Loen. Unlike the customer shown in the previous topic, this one will have an impact on the main story, as he'll be responsible for helping to promote the brothel and make it more popular. Starting from the next episode, the brothel will be more crowded than usual. With that, we've completed the entire customers part of Day 5. Loen's part is totally done, both the renders and the dialogue. There's also a small part where Luna will come to tell the main character that he's being called to one of the 2nd floor rooms, which we'll not reveal for now so as not to give spoilers. As for this small part, it's also done, so we can consider that the entire dialogue part is finished. As for the preview images attached to this topic, let's go step by step: In images 1 (cover) to 5, we have several expressions from Loen that make up the dialogue between him and the main character. In images 6 to 8, we have him drinking the drink that you'll have to serve him in this episode. In images 9 and 10, we see him taking a drag during his dialogue with the MC. Although Loen is the main focus of these images, you'll notice that Veronika is also seen serving drinks in the background. There is a specific order to these images that "tell the story" of her serving drinks and collecting the empty glasses that customers have already consumed. This order was not respected in the preview images posted here, but they'll be properly sequenced ingame. This was a small detail that we made sure to have in this part of the development, as we wanted both Luna and Veronika to appear parading in lingerie in the background, as we had not explored this outfit on the characters in this context previously.








Julia Pole Dance Scene - Animation

This is the most complex animation we've worked on so far, with 588 different frames in a single animation. It's a lot of work, but we decided to go all out on this animation because it's the main theme of this episode, so we want it to be really well done. We had to pose frame by frame, adjusting every detail of the character's body, such as posing each limb, each finger, etc. In addition, we had to make the pose so that there is continuity compared to the previous frames, so that the animation is fluid. It's quite an achievement, so we hope you enjoy the final result, which you can see in the preview video attached to this topic.
This animation will also have a nude variant that will be part of the same scene. Initially, she was going to dance just wearing the bikini, but we thought players would want to see Julia dancing completely naked, so we decided to include this second version as an extension of the scene. The nude variant has also had its posing process completed. This animation is currently in the rendering process. It'll be posted here at the next opportunity, as it should be finished by then.   • She'll walk down the catwalk wearing the bikini.
  • She'll do the Pole Dance wearing the bikini.
  • There'll be a pause and she'll take off her clothes, throwing it into the audience. (It'll just disappear completely)
  • She'll do the Pole Dance again, but this time without clothes.
  • She'll walk out to the dressing room, completely nude. [/olist] We decided to start with the Pole Dance animation itself, as it's the hardest. Now that it's done, step 4 of the script will automatically be done as well, since it's the same animation, being just a variation. Some extra facts about this scene: Unlike the looping animations we usually do, this is an animation that goes from beginning to end once and then ends, which is what makes it so laborious, as it takes more unique frames for the animation to be better utilized. On the other hand, the final result of the animation is superior, as it presents new movements from beginning to end and, in our opinion, this increases the quality of the animation, as there's always the novelty factor when watching it for the first time. We also decided to include the backwards version in it, as we realized that this creates an interesting result, so we can increase the duration of the animation and make it loopable, even though we only plan to play it once. The Julia Pole Dance Scene is not complete yet, as we still have the animations of Julia entering and exiting the catwalk to do, but these animations are extremely easier to do than the pole dance one, so it won't be long until they are done and we can consider this scene finished. We'll probably bring the conclusion of this scene, along with the missing animations, in the next post.

    Conclusion


    We know you like to have regular news on the project's development, but there is a reason why we decided to postpone publishing news. As you can see, most of the progress we've made is related to dialogue between characters or progress in gameplay-related parts. Although they're also important parts of the game and add to the final product, they don't have the same appeal to the audience as the sex scenes. For this reason, we decided to wait to accumulate more content and complete at least one erotic scene before posting news here, as we understand that news that only contained dialogue between characters would not be fun. We apologize for the inconvenience to those eagerly awaiting the next update, and we understand your desire to play and see the content that will arrive in the next version. We appreciate your interest in following our work and eagerly awaiting each update, because without it, we would have no reason to continue working on the development of this project.   • Progress Report - June/July 2024

    What's up, guys! Today we're here to bring you what you like: Updates on new content. It's been a while since we last brought you updates about new content, so we decided to dedicate ourselves to having some solid content to show before we bring you the news. Therefore, we're bringing 28 preview animations at once, featuring 4 different camera angles with varying animations, so that you can see how our work is progressing.

    Sakura's Masturbation Scene


    The scene in question is Sakura's Masturbation Scene, which is one of the scenes we planned for this new version. You'll have to fulfill Sakura's requests for this scene to be unlocked for you. We won't reveal more about the context so as not to spoil the surprise, but we would like to give you a taste of the scene. As usual, we like to start building a scene with animations, as it is the most laborious and time-consuming task of all. After doing this, we move on to the static images and the dialogue of the scene itself. At the moment, we already have all the animations for this scene done, we just need to implement them in the game, which takes time and creativity to do correctly. Despite this, we already have the previews to show you how it turned out. Let's separate the preview animations into sections, according to the camera angle of each one, so you can better understand how the animations make up each animation pack. Please, take a look!

    Sakura's Masturbation Scene - Camera Angle 1


    As for these preview animations, there are 7 different variations that will be used to compose the scene and which you can view in this post. These variations will be explored in different ways, with changes in their display speed, which will be presented together with the context of the scene's dialogue.

    This second animation pack, consisting of 6 animations, is similar to the previous one, but gives a close-up view of her pussy.

    Progress Report - May 2024

    What's up, guys! Today we came to bring you a little more of our progress in developing the game. Today's content is varied, so let's separate it into parts.

    A little more development progress


    After finishing Beatrice's sex scene, we had some development progress.

    Dialogue between Beatrice and the MC


    There was another section of dialogue between Beatrice and the MC in which she gave him the task of the day, in addition to paying his salary. This dialogue is the final part of the preface for the 5th day, and is already completely done. You can see some renders that make up this scene below, including some images of the MC being paid and some facial expressions of him and Beatrice.





    Dialogue between Sakura and the MC


    After the conversation with Beatrice, you'll enter Exploration Mode and effectively begin Day 5. As soon as you leave Beatrice's Room door, going into the hallway, you'll automatically enter a scene, where Sakura will be waiting for you to talk to you. This dialogue shows you another goal that must be achieved during Day 5, but this time it's a task that Sakura will give you, instead of Beatrice, as is usual. Furthermore, this conversation with Sakura will also reveal some secrets about the plot that takes place on Day 5. We prefer not to tell you this part so as not to spoil the surprise.







    New Achievement - 100


    The game now has a new achievement to be unlocked in its arsenal. We finally reached the 100th gallery image and, to celebrate, we created a special render for it. We've included this special render in the game as an unlockable and also an achievement to go along with it. When you unlock the 100th gallery image, the achievement 100 will be unlocked, along with this special render in the gallery. Thus, we record our mark forever in the game itself. As expected, this achievement will be available in all versions, whether on Steam or other platforms. In the first 2 images below, you can see the new achievement unlocked in the achievements menu and the image that is unlocked in the gallery when reaching a total of 100 gallery images. In the 3rd image, we can see what this new gallery image looks like.


    Exploration Mode sections completed


    Once these dialogues are over, we finally have Free Roaming (or Exploration Mode) again. All sections of Exploration Mode have been completed. There are some variety of different things throughout the maps that we had to complete before declaring this part done, so let's go by topic.

    Beatrice Room


    In this room, there were changes resulting from the dialogue with Beatrice that the MC just had. Beatrice is sitting in a different location on the bed and the porn movie that was playing during the sex scene with her is being shown on the TV, as this is part of the context of the game during day 5. In image 1, we have the "Front View" and, in image 2, we have the "Rear View".

    Sakura's Room


    We see small changes here, such as the presence of high heels and the basket of clothes that Sakura usually carries around. Sakura is also sitting on the bed, wearing her usual maid clothes. She's waiting for you to bring her the items she asked you to get. Once you complete this task, you'll unlock extra content. In image 1, you can see what Sakura's room looked like on day 5 and, in image 2, you see an image of when you interact with Sakura in her room.

    Item Shop


    2 new items are available to be purchased in the Item Shop during the 5th day: TV Remote and Batteries. You'll need to deliver these items to Sakura to complete a task, this'll unlock extra content. These items were also added as conditions for obtaining the Delivery Man achievement. In images 1, 2 and 3, you can see the items displayed on the Item Shop shelf with their respective descriptions.


    In images 4 and 5, you can see the 2 new items in the Inventory, along with their descriptions.

    Sex Shop


    Some places required only small changes to have the 5th day part done. One of these places was the Sex Shop. Here, there was only a change in the main character's clothes during the dialogues with the shopkeeper. You can see an example in this image.

    All remaining sections


    There are still other sections of Exploration Mode that are done, although we have not included preview images of them, they are:
    • Luna Room
    • Veronika Room
    • MC Room
    • Photo Studio
    • Bar (All sections)

    There were also small changes to the code, not visible, for better optimization


    With the changes we made, the renders that change according to the day of the game will be automatically implemented, simply by adding the image to the game folder. This should speed up the release of the next updates, as it eliminates the need to modify the game's code in the future. ============//============ We know that as these updates only concern gameplay aspects, such as dialogue between characters, the maps that can be explored in Exploration Mode, new features (new items, new achievement) and code optimization, may not be as interesting to follow.     Beatrice's Sex Scene Completed

    What's up, guys! Today we came to bring you some good news: Beatrice's sex scene is finished. This is just the first sex scene that will make up v0.4, but it's important progress. Now we'll work on the dialogues that follow this scene and that'll lead to the other sex scenes in v0.4. We published 3 posts on our other platform about the development progress of this scene. Because of this, we'll separate this news into 3 parts.

    Beatrice's Sex Scene Animations - Part 2


    In the last post, we said that we had already finished rendering all the animations for Beatrice's sex scene, with just a few touches to be made on the animations using image editors. Well, these touches are complete and, therefore, we are bringing the remaining animations for you to see.


    What is Sakura doing there?


    The burning question is: What is Sakura doing there? Could it be that she was in her routine of tidying up the brothel's rooms and collecting the clothes and, suddenly, she ended up coming across the scene of the main character eating Beatrice's pussy? Or maybe she was passing by the room, heard strange noises and decided to go in to take a peek? Well, we'll only find out by playing, but from the expression on her face, she seems very interested in what she's seeing. Well, as we can see in these images, we'll have an important participation from Sakura throughout this update and this is seen in the first scene of this episode, which will be the preface to what will come throughout the rest of the episode.


    Beatrice's Sex Scene Completed


    This episode will be entirely focused on new sex scenes, exploring characters that haven't been explored much yet, such as Beatrice, Sakura and Julia, so we'll have news about the next sex scenes soon. Regarding development progress, although we had already published the animations that make up the scene before, we worked on variations using the frames of these animations, which generated different animations in the final scene, something that you'll only see in the game, as we don't intend to bring these variations here. There was also the development of all the dialogue that makes up the scene and the rendering of the remaining static images. A little more about the context of the scene: The TV is showing a porn movie. For the porn movie that is showing, we decided to use some animations involving Thomas and Talita. Two of them were already present in v0.3, being unlocked when the player finishes listening to Thomas' story. One of these animations, the third one, is completely new and, when you see it ingame, it'll also be unlocked in the Gallery.


    We also brought some more still images that make up the scene: The first image shows the moment when Beatrice realizes that Sakura is at the door. Images 2 to 5 show some of Sakura's expressions while she cums, as well as showing her masturbating. Images 6 and 7 show some of Beatrice's expressions while cumming.






    With this, we conclude this part of the v0.4 development. We hope you enjoy what we brought you as a preview and stay hyped to play the new version as soon as it's released.     Progress Report: v0.4 Development

    Hello everyone! It has been some time since the release of v0.3.1 and, although there has been enough time for the release of v0.4, it has not yet occurred. There's a reason for this: There was an unforeseen event during development that caused us to delay our development schedule. However, we make it clear to everyone: Development of this game continues active and a new version will be released as soon as possible. Let's start by explaining some questions our players may have.

    If development continues to be active, why hasn't any news about the game been published here in the meantime?


    Until now, we had reserved progress reports showing the work being done only for another platform that we have designed to show this type of content. Initially, we had only reserved patch notes for updates actually released for Steam, but we realized that some players only find out about the progress of development work on Early Access games here, unaware of the existence of other platforms, so we decided to bring these progress reports to Steam as well to keep everyone informed. We had not noticed this behavior before on the part of players, having even given us some negative feedback, so we apologize for our mistake.

    What was the reason for the delay in the v0.4 release?


    In the first moments right after the release of v0.3.1, we had planned to do voice acting for all the game's dialogue, using AI. We liked the result, despite the limitations of the AI, and thought it could be improved, but we planned to finish all the dubbing work before moving on to developing new content. In this sense, we even dubbed the initial part of the game and released some dubbing videos on our other platform, demonstrating the progress we had made. Despite this, we received some negative feedback from our supporters, some saying that they preferred us to work on new content, others saying that the result of AI dubbing was not satisfactory, and we decided to open a poll to hear the opinion of all our supporters. Finally, supporters voted to abort the dubbing work and immediately begin development work on v0.4, bringing new content. As we had to abort the dubbing work and start developing v0.4, this ended up causing a delay in our delivery schedule for the new update.     Okay, so we know there was a delay, but what stage of development is version 0.4 in?


    Well, let's start with the roadmap, showing what we have planned for v0.4.

    Roadmap - Plans for v0.4


    • Sex scene with Beatrice: Since at the end of v0.3 you had sex with a client, Beatrice thinks it's necessary to teach you how to eat pussy, since you won't always have Luna with you to do this. Therefore, she'll be in charge of teaching you how to do this.
    • A small advance in Sakura's story.
    • Sakura solo sex scene: If you meet the necessary conditions that the game will show you, you'll unlock a new scene of Sakura masturbating. This scene will be an extra, something like a secondary quest.
    • Development of Julias story (Pole Dance Instructor).
    • Pole Dance Scene with Julia: As this episode unfolds, Julia will perform a Pole Dance session in the middle of the bar, on the catwalk.
    • Sex scene with Julia: At the end of this episode, you'll hear a little more about Julia's story and discover that she decided to become one of the brothel girls too, not just limiting herself to Pole Dancing. After that, she'll have sex with you as a training session, just like you did with Luna and Veronika.
    Well, this is what we have planned for v0.4, just a summary of course. Perhaps we'll deliver this content divided into two updates (v0.4.0 and v0.4.1), but this will depend on how much time we have left, as we feel it's necessary to deliver updates at a certain frequency to you.

    Main Character's New Outfit


    As usual, the first step in developing a new update is to define the main character's new outfit and render the images that change according to his outfit. So we brought some images of the main character in different scenes wearing the new clothes.







    Beatrice's New Outfit


    Unlike the previous days, Beatrice will engage in a sex scene with the main character at the beginning of episode 4. In these preview images, we show some renders that make up the dialogue that precedes this scene. She has a TV remote in her hand and is talking to you. What will be the context that will unfold for her to start a sex scene with the MC? For now, we'll keep this a surprise.







    First Peek at Beatrice's Sex Scene


    As always, we like to start creating the sex scenes with the animations, which are the most time-consuming and laborious part at first. After creating good animations and seeing a satisfactory result regarding what was planned for the scene, it becomes easier to create the rest of the scene, such as the static images and dialogues that make up the scene. That said, we're almost finished creating all the animations that'll make up Beatrice's sex scene. At the moment, we have finished rendering all of them, but some animations still need some touch-ups, which we have to do manually using an image editor. For now, we bring 3 of these animations as previews so you can get an idea of what the result is going to look like. As soon as the other animations are finished, we'll bring them here so you can view them too. * GIFs scaled down to fit the page may have some artifacts. Click on them to see them in full size.


    Extra: Julia dancing Staying Alive


    As part of our studies on the physics of certain parts of the female body, such as breasts and butt, we created an animation of Julia dancing Staying Alive on the catwalk in the middle of the bar.     Living in a Brothel v0.3.1 & Official Guide released



    What's up, guys! This time, we're here to bring you great news: a new update for Living in a Brothel has been released, version 0.3.1. Let's talk briefly about each point of this new update: ============//============ The Bunny and the Kitty (New Scene): This is the scene that had been planned for v0.3.0, but ended up being postponed due to lack of time. This is the unlockable sex scene if the player delivers the Kitty Cosplay to Veronika on day 2. To access it, when you finish talking to Beatrice and she asks you to go and call the girls for the photo shoot at on the 4th day, you'll have to go to Veronika's room. Doing this will automatically start the scene. This is the biggest sex scene ever created so far: It's almost completely animated, has several different positions involving the 3 characters (MC, Luna and Veronika) and several different camera angles as well. Furthermore, it has different possible endings, which are the ways in which the MC can cum in the scene, varying according to the choices the player makes. Therefore, it's recommended to use the Replay feature to see all possible endings of this scene. There are also some interesting extra renders, such as posters of Luna and Veronika taking a shower, which can be accessed by going to their bathroom, after the aforementioned scene, as well as some interesting Gallery Images, such as some animations that came from the Dynamic Duo scene, but with the girls wearing their respective cosplays. Now we can say that we have finally completed the development of v0.3, including all the content that had been planned for it. ============//============ Hide the Dialog Box: As stated above, we took the opportunity to bring some interesting features that ended up being excluded from the game for one reason or another. One of these features is the possibility of hiding the dialog box to better appreciate the render or animation that is being displayed on the screen. This feature had been removed from the game in the first versions, due to incompatibility with the game's Free Roaming system. What happened is that, when using the H key to hide the dialogue, it ended up hiding things that it shouldn't, such as the clickable buttons in the scenarios and the Secret Cards. However, due to it being a feature loved by players of Visual Novels made with Ren'py, some players complained about the feature's removal. Because of this, we decided to look into the problem and came up with a solution that makes it possible to hide just the dialog and not the entire interface as happens by default in Ren'py. Therefore, the clickable buttons are no longer hidden when pressing the H key and, with that, it was possible to bring this feature back. ============//============ Gamepad Support: It's now possible to play Living in a Brother using a gamepad. Yes, this was another default Ren'py feature that had been removed by us due to incompatibilities with some game features. The biggest problem was, once again, related to the Free Roaming mode. What happens is that this game mode is completely dependent on the mouse to work and, therefore, we needed a way to move the cursor around the screen so that the gamepad could be correctly implemented. Unfortunately, the ability to control the mouse cursor with the gamepad is not a feature offered natively by Ren'py, which made us disable the feature completely, as we would rather not have the feature than release it with bugs. However, we realized that, when using the Steam API, it's possible to control the mouse cursor with the analog sticks, which was a game changer for our goal of implementing gamepad support. In this regard, we have created an official default configuration in Steam Controller Settings, so that players can use it here. It's the "Official Layout for Living In A Brothel - Gamepad Configuration".     You're a 23 years old young man who lives in Priscilla's house, your landlady.
    You're an unemployed and you just wants to play video games all day, so you don't pay your rent. Luckily, Priscilla is very fond of your parents and allows you to continue living in her house anyway.

    One day, Beatrice, Priscilla's friend, pays a visit and tells her that she's opening a bar.
    Priscilla, taking the opportunity, asks if she would have a job for you there, that way you wouldn't have any more excuses for not paying the rent.
    Beatrice says yes, there's a job for you at her bar so you're not an unemployed man anymore!


    On the way to the bar, Beatrice reveals that you'll be the manager. What you didn't know is that the bar is just a disguise and actually what Beatrice is opening is a brothel.

    Among your roles, you will have to: help Beatrice with the decoration of the brothel, be the bartender, be nice to customers, break up fights between customers, take pictures of the girls, create a website to attract new customers and, the best role among all, having sex with the girls to teach them how to treat clients.

    You'll certainly have a lot of work managing the brothel, but we hope it'll be a very rewarding experience, especially when you're "training" the girls.

    We know the importance of the visual aspect of a game when it comes to immersion, so we decided to use the most advanced technology regarding 3d models, as we want our characters to be as close to real people as possible.

    In the current version of the game, there are already 2161 renders done, so expect several hours of gameplay available, even with the game being in its initial versions yet.

    Although they are not as abundant in the game yet, we decided to use the animations to emphasize even more important parts of the story, like the sex scenes, for example.

    We strive to make animations as smooth as possible without sacrificing performance, especially on older devices. Therefore, we decided that the animations will be done at 60 FPS.


    These renders and animations, together with the plot progression, built to be unfolded as natural as possible, make up 29 different scenes, already available in the current version of the game.





    Music is a special topic when it comes to quality content, as they are responsible for setting the mood of a scene, so we need to ensure that they are of the best possible quality and convey the right vibe for the scene.

    For this reason, all songs were remixed to sound with the best quality.
    You can hear the instruments clearly, in stereo and at an appropriate volume.
    In addition, all songs have been edited to play infinitely for the duration of the respective scene, being songs seamlessly loopable.


    The songs will have their names displayed, followed by the author's name, in the upper left corner of the screen, as soon as they start to be played.
    This is interesting to properly credit the authors, as well as helping the player to look for them on the internet, if interested.
    This feature can be turned off in the Options menu.





    We also built an original Menu especially for this game, as we feel that accessibility is also an important factor during gameplay. Our goal was to have as many options as possible on the screen, without sacrificing good responsiveness.

    In the screenshot above, we can see some of the result applied to the Load Menu. By making better use of screen space, we can show up to 12 save slots at once, as well as 25 save pages, which helps the player's life by making save management easier.

    We apply the same concept to all sections of the Menu, then you can expect more practical navigation and better use of screen space in the entire Menu.





    This game also has a Gallery section, which currently has 92 unlockable images.

    Among these images, there are:
    • Character Portraits: Unlocked when you meet a new character throughout the story or when the character is wearing a different outfit.
    • Secret Images: Unlocked when a Secret Card is found or a secret in the game is revealed, it usually shows the characters in sexual situations unrelated to the main story.
    This feature will be explored extensively throughout development as we believe that unlockables can increase the replay factor of the game and are also part of the fun.

    We want players to be able to enjoy this game beyond the main story.
    That's why we created Achievements to encourage players who want to explore the game beyond its main story.

    In addition to Steam's native Achievements system, we've also included an ingame Achievements system that will work in parallel with the Steam Achievements system.

    Therefore, the player will be able to see the achievements he has already unlocked in the Achievements Menu within the game itself.
    Additionally, a brief description is shown on achievements that haven't unlocked yet, showing what goal must be reached for the achievement to unlock.





    This game also has a Replay section, which currently has 29 unlockable scenes.

    Have you ever seen a scene from a Visual Novel and, without realizing it, ended up leaving some detail behind when you reached the end of that scene?
    Or maybe you liked a scene so much that you'd like to see it again, but feel unmotivated to play through the whole story again?

    Your problems are over!
    Upon reaching the end of a scene during the main story, it'll be unlocked in the Replay section and you can replay it as many times as you like.
    Also, if you leave something behind, like a Secret Card or a secondary scene, this can also be unlocked during replay.

    With this, your life is much easier if you want to explore that detail you forgot on the first run.





    This game has some different features and this can end up making the player feel lost at first.
    With that in mind, we decided to create an in-game Tutorial section to help the player during the first run.

    Tutorials work similarly to Replays, the player will see them at the appropriate time during the main story and, after seeing them, they will be unlocked in the Tutorial section so you can see them again if you need to.

    For that reason, we decided to include them inside the Replay section.
    To access the Tutorial section, simply click on the two left arrows (<<) when on Page 1 of the Replay section.


    Yes, we know that tutorials can get boring when we don't need them anymore, so it's possible to turn off Tutorials in the Options menu.

    If it's your first run and you decide to turn off the Tutorials anyway, they'll continue to be unlocked in the Tutorial section, in case you change your mind and want to check them out.





    We'll start talking about this topic by answering some frequently asked questions.

    Is this game a sandbox?
    No, this game is a Visual Novel, with some Free Roaming moments in the middle of the story.

    Is this game grindly?
    No, you won't need to see the same interaction 20x to reach the required points of a specific stat to proceed in the story.
    We know how frustrating this type of mechanic is for players and that it's a mistake made by devs in general, to the point of the players automatically associating Free Roaming to games with such mechanics. For this reason, we think it's important to highlight that's not the case with our game.

    Why was Free Roaming implemented in this game?
    We would really like players to feel part of the game environment. We want you to be able to transit through the bar, the brothel rooms, etc.

    In Exploration Mode, you'll be able to interact with almost everything, from characters to objects in each room.

    Each room also has multiple points of view, which are these thumbnails at the bottom of the screen. By clicking on a thumbnail, you can explore the same room from another point of view, thus being able to see details that were previously hidden in the previous point of view.
    In the example of the screenshot above, the player is at the bar, which has 6 different points of view, the current one and the other 5 that the player can switch.

    The real reason Exploration Mode was built this way is to be able to hide a lot of secrets around the rooms. You'll be able to find Money, Items and even Secret Cards as you search the rooms. Try to discover all the secrets hidden in the world of Living in a Brothel!

    One other detail we need to talk about is: Whenever you enter Exploration Mode, the HUD will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen. This HUD has 2 buttons, let's talk a little more about them.





    By clicking on the green button with the cash register icon, the Shop menu will open.

    In this menu, you can choose between going to the Item Shop or the Sex Shop.
    These 2 specific places can be accessed from literally anywhere during Exploration Mode.

    The Item Shop is dedicated to selling the most varied types of items, miscellaneous in general. The Sex Shop is dedicated to selling adult items.
    Choose which store to go to depending on the type of item you want to buy.


    Once present in a shop, you'll notice that the green button will have its icon changed to a door. Click on it and you'll return to where you were before.





    By clicking on the blue button with the backpack icon, the Inventory will open.

    In this menu, you can see the Items you own, as well as their names and a brief description about them. In addition, you can also see the amount of money you have in the lower right corner of the Inventory window.

    Items play an important role in this game, some being directly linked to the main story and others needed to unlock extra scenes.
    With that in mind, try to collect and explore all the potential that items have to offer.





    Posters are giant sized images that can be dragged up and down by the player so that he can investigate all of its details.
    Some images are best presented vertically, so posters were created.

    They can appear as main story images, as an unlockable Gallery image, and even some Exploration Mode rooms can be displayed in poster format, so this is a mechanic that affects gameplay as a whole.

    Some secrets can also be hidden on Posters, so make sure you investigate them carefully so you don't leave anything behind.

    This is an innovative mechanic originally created for this game. At least, we don't remember seeing anything similar in any other Visual Novel, so we hope you enjoy this new way of playing and that the Posters make the experience even richer.





    Secret Cards are secrets hidden throughout the entire game.
    They can be found in the main story images, in Posters and mainly in Exploration Mode, being the main reason that motivated us to create a Free Roaming mode in this game.

    They are responsible for unlocking the Gallery Secret Images.
    Secret Cards are the main feature when it comes to extra content and are spreaded in abundance throughout the world of Living in a Brothel.

    An interesting observation is that there are Secret Cards in this game that only appear when a certain condition is met, such as delivering an item to a certain character, for example.
    So be aware of this, because when you go back to places you've visited before, previously unknown secrets can emerge.

    We want this game not to be just the main story and that, even after seeing the whole story, the player still has reasons to go back to the previous chapters and play them again. So we can say that the reason we implemented this mechanic is to increase the replay factor of the game, because we want people to spend good hours having fun with it.

    Obviously they are not necessary for you to understand the main story, so if you want, you can skip them.

    We challenge you to find them all!





    In this game, we have an extra mode called Photo Studio.
    The player can do photoshoots with the brothel girls, wearing different sexy outfits, such as lingeries and cosplays.

    These photoshoots will be taken by the player to be published on a Forum, where it's possible to promote escorts and brothels.
    This mode is directly linked to the unfolding of the game's main story.

    At the moment, it's possible to do photoshoots with only 2 girls: Luna and Veronika, with 2 sexy outfits available for each.
    There are still few photoshoots available, due to this mode being new and being launched in the current version, but more girls and sexy outfits will be added in the next versions of the game.





    This game also has a smartphone system.
    It'll be used at some points in the story to make it more cohesive, as at times characters need to talk to each other from a distance.

    It's possible to have 1 to 1 conversations, participate in group conversations and even send and receive images on the smartphone screen.
    You can also drag the conversation up and down to see a previous part of the dialog again.

    This system was created to replicate the feeling of using one of those instant messaging apps that are so common these days.

    Despite being simple, we hope that this feature will make the experience more fun and immersive for players.







    Bar customers will appear and ask you for a drink, your task is to give them the correct drink as they ordered.
    If you give the correct drink, you'll see a different line of dialogue confirming you got it right, usually a compliment from the customer regarding your performance as a bartender.
    Getting all the orders right for the day will earn you a salary bonus.


    Drinks available to be served to consumers are not limited to bar drinks.
    If the customer's order is not among the drinks available at the bar, it'll also be possible to go to the fridge in Beatrice's room to choose one of the drinks that are there.
    Some drinks may look similar, like two different types of whiskey for example, so make sure you're actually serving the right drink.

    This minigame is part of the main story, but don't worry, getting a customer's order wrong won't hurt your progress in the main story.





    The theme of this game is a bar with a Vegas-style vibe, so something that couldn't be missing was a slot machine to represent that mood well.

    It's a simple minigame where you have to line up 3 identical figures to win the cash prize. But this isn't limited to just aligning them on the middle line, aligning them diagonally also counts.

    It has 4 difficulties available: Easy, Medium, Hard and Insane. The harder it is, the higher the wheel speed and the higher the bet cost.
    The reward is also proportionately higher, of course!

    This is an extra way for you to earn in-game money, if you wants to.
    But be careful, as you can also lose a lot of money if you play poorly.

    But don't worry, the money related to the main story will not be lost, as the game prevents you from spending it.

    Something worth noting is that this minigame is completely optional and there are other ways to earn money in-game if you need money to perform side tasks.

    Honestly, we think this minigame is quite addictive and we wasted a few hours trying to get good at the Slot Machine, be careful not to get addicted too!
