Hello everyone,
Another month has passed, and Ive been keeping busy. March was a bit tough, thoughI hit a slump while working on a new area, and it reminded me just how difficult making games can be
Sometimes you just know that somethings offmaybe a bit of story, a piece of gameplay, or part of a levelbut you cant quite tell what it is. This time, the problem was the monster. The creepy shadowy figure you might remember from the demo.
Ive had a lot of ideas for this entity since the beginning, and Ive been working on a new encounter with it. But something didnt feel right. I couldnt figure out why, and that kind of stalled everything. Since so many parts of the game depend on each other, progress came to a halt.
So what do you do in a situation like that? Honestly, I dont think theres one right answer. This time, I decided to take a few weeks off and let the issue simmer in the back of my mind while I focused on other things.
For me, creative blocks sometimes lift when I watch movies, play a new game, or read a book. Its like your brain stays quietly stuck on the problem, and thenwhile you're thinking about something elsean idea suddenly clicks.
The tricky part, though: the longer the break, the harder it gets to come back. This time, getting back into Solace Creek after a few weeks was really difficult. But I pushed through, and now I feel like Ive made it past the rough patch.
I don't have something from the mentioned encounter, but a screenshot (see above) new room I've been working on for the demo level: A sort of Psych-Evaluation room. I felt inspired by some psychology tests, there are plenty of tests like the well-known Rorschach-Test with the colorful paint splats, where not only the answer the patient gives matters but also their reaction to the question. Inspired by that I created this room with interesting questions such as "Is the voice in your head yours?" which kinda creep me out tbh
Recently while working on new stuff I've been going back a lot to the demo area and including new stuff. I can't wait to show you all more.
As always, thank you for your support!
Hey everyone! In the last few weeks, Ive made a lot of progress on Solace Creek. Id estimate that around half of the game is finished. Since the first level, Ive added two more large areas and also gone back to refine the first level with more assets and details. Some of those updates are already available in the current demo version.

Hello everyone, Thank you so much for the amazing feedback on the demo over the past week! Its been incredibly motivating . Ive watched many of your Let's Plays, read through your comments, and gathered your feedback to make some improvements, which are included in this latest update. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all your support! Here are some of the improvements in this update:
Hello everyone, I've already received some feedback from those of you who have played the demo, and I'm so relieved that you seem to be enjoying the Solace Creek demo! After creating a multi-hour RPG with Numina, this project was definitely a step in a different direction, but one that was much needed. Not only because of my deep admiration for atmospheric horror games, but also because I wanted to challenge myself creatively. So, thank you very much for your support! The new version of the demo now includes German language support And by the way, if you're interested in helping to bring Solace Creek to other languages, be sure to check out our Localizor page: https://www.localizor.com/solace-creek I've also made some bug fixes and improvements. Hopefully, I'll be able to publish the macOS and Linux builds soon as well. Once again, thank you very much, and see you soon!
Hello everyone, Im thrilled to share some big news with you all: the 3D demo of Solace Creek is finally out! This demo features everything from the original 2D version (and more!) with about 30 minutes of gameplay. Together with my friend Lo (who did a stellar job on the art side) I worked very hard the last few months to get the game to this important milestone. And I couldn't be happier that we finally made it If you want to support the game, please also consider wishlisting it here on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3004130/Solace_Creek/ And of course, Id love to hear your thoughts on the demo, so please feel free to share your feedback!
