Hello to all Chef Warriors and Innkeepers!

We took our time with this one but Patch 3 is finally here!

This update brings a big chunk of new content and improvements to give you a clearer taste of what Monster Chef is growing into.

This is our biggest and most feature-packed demo update yet.

  • Removed the Chef Door mechanic: now to go back to the Inn you can just press R3 after completing a Menu and wait a few seconds.

\nHeres our second demo patch, focused on improving gameplay flow and squashing nasty bugs. Those daring enough to return to the Fresche Frasche Woods will be greeted by snappier combat and some beautiful graphics!!\n\n

Below youll find the full list of changes:

\n\nAdded updated graphics for the Fugo habitat in the Wilds, now featuring gigantic mushrooms.\n \nAdded a dynamic minimap in the Inn, displaying Pranzo\'s position and responding to Room\'s unlocks.\n \nAdded some time to the Inn\'s minigame, allowing the player to serve a greater number of plates.\n\nAdded a tutorial card to clarify Dusk and Nightfall behaviour.\n\nImproved signaling for the Motato healing bushes.\n \nImproved transparency for the trees in the Wilds, grating the player better vision.\n \nImproved timing for the Salthasker\'s recharge animation.\n\nImproved feedback when the Monsters become cookable. \n\nImproved various SFX and music.\n\nNPC\'s Daily Menus are no longer forced as Active Menu. \n\nThe Saltshaker attack can now be cancelled from mid animation, quickening the combat\'s pace.\n \nFixed a bug where the Blacksmith\'s Menu won\'t spawn Psycabbages if you haven\'t completed the Carpenter\'s Menu.\n\nFixed a bug where the Chef Senses trail led the player to dead ends.\n\nFixed resolution change problems for 2K screens.\n \nVarious other fixes and small changes.\n\n \nWe are deeply grateful for all the feedback we have received so far: every opinion is fundamental to improve the game. We focused mainly on quality-of-life updates and bug squashing. Below youll find the full list of changes:

  • Added clearer information to help you navigate the Wilds and find Monsters; removed the Chef Sense hint when no Daily Menu Monster is nearby.

Important Notice Some antivirus software blocks the demo launch

Weve found that some antivirus software may completely block the launch of the Monster Chef Demo, even though it installs fine on Steam.

  • We confirm that the demo is safe and free of threats.

  • The executable has been checked and approved by Steam, which verifies all content uploaded to the platform.

This issue happens because some antivirus software is overly cautious with executables generated using Unity, the development engine we use for Monster Chef.

Even though the file is safe, antivirus software may block it preemptively without any malicious code inside.

What to do if the demo won\'t start

  • Check if your antivirus has quarantined or blocked a game file.

  • Add the demo folder to your antivirus exceptions or exclusions.

  • Restart Steam and try launching the demo again.
