EA 5 Update Achievement Fixes, New Enchantments, and More!

Hey duelists, Weve just launched the EA 5 Update for CardScrawl! This update is packed with meaningful improvements to achievements, gameplay balance, and the save system. Lets get into it: Achievement & Unlock Fixes The Enchanting Mastery achievement was missing and has now been added. Valeena is now unlockable! The following achievements now properly unlock their Champions: Mana Burnout, Feywild Pact, Mana Master, Direct Assault, Flawless Victory, Forged in Stone, Demoncaller, Graveborn Army, Full Summon Save system updated: Characters now unlock immediately and consistently. Achievement Difficulty Rebalancing To give players clearer progression, weve reorganized which difficulties certain achievements require: Now unlockable on any difficulty: Novice Duelist, Mana Master, Direct Assault, Full Summon, Creature Collector, Forged in Stone, Demoncaller, Graveborn Army, Feywild Pact, Mana Burnout, Enchanting Mastery, Champion's Journey Now require Classic Ascent or higher: Trial By Fire, Swift Victory, Underdog Victory, Overkill, Chain Reaction, Champions Edge, Legendary Summoner, Overwhelming Force, Legendary Slayer, Card Shark, Flawless Victory, Resourceful, Defender of the Tower, Decked Out, Out of Options Require Chaos Gauntlet or higher: Rising Challenger, Tower Explorer, Master of The Tower Require Chaos Hardcore: Unyielding Will Creature Collector requirement increased: 15 30 creatures. Overwhelming Force: Now requires 9 creatures on the board at once (up from 6). Gameplay Changes & Balancing Charm nerfed: Charmed creatures no longer deal direct damage when reaching the board's endthey return to their original summoner instead. Heal Enchantment removed: It was underperforming and has been retired. Double Strike removed: Too similar to First Strike, so we've cut it to reduce bloat. New Enchantments Added: Vampiric Strike: Creatures with this permanent enchantment heal for its value when they deal melee damage. APDegeneration: A counter to APRegenerationit drains enemy Ability Power each round. Visuals, Effects, and Feedback New FX for Dracarath and Ratburg when using their Champion Abilities. New Game Board font Easier to read and much cleaner! Combat Round Order changed: Stone Sigil casts first nowbefore Silence. APDegeneration now casts right after APRegeneration. Announcer setting now has an audio cue when toggled in settings. Important Save Note Due to these updates, old save files are incompatible and will be deleted when you launch the new version. However, your achievements and unlocks will carry over just fine. Youll be right back in the climb. Larger Update in the Works!

Hey everyone, Just a quick heads-up from the CardScrawl dev team: were currently working on a larger Early Access update that merges two previously planned patches into one. By combining them, were able to make the update a bit more cohesiveand include a handful of improvements to gameplay, achievements, and the saving system, among other refinements. While its not a massive overhaul, it is a more substantial update than usual, and we think itll help make the CardScrawl experience smoother and more satisfying across the board. EA 4 Save Settings, Bug Fixes & Improved Visual Feedback

Duelists, prepare for battle! Were back with EA 4, bringing more polish, improved mechanics, and crucial bug fixes to CardScrawl. This update includes: Saved Settings All settings are now saved automatically, so your preferences will persist between play sessions. (Note: If you have an existing save file, you may need to tweak your settings back to your liking.) Creature Advance Fix Weve fixed an issue where the Creature Advance mechanic failed to trigger properly when creatures were affected by the Bless Enchantment. Improved Summon Visual Feedback Its now easier to see which creatures can be enchanted, with clearer visual feedback when equipping summons. Vigor Infusion Spoil Fix The Vigor Infusion rare spoil description now correctly displays the actual HP it provides: 15 HP (instead of the incorrect 20 HP). Nocturne Ability Icon Fix Nocturnes ability icon now properly displays when using his ability. Stone Spikes Renamed The enchantment formerly known as Stone Spikes has been renamed to Stone Sigil for a more fitting and thematic name. Crash Fix Thanks to a report from one of our forum members (and their helpful video recording), weve squashed a crash bug. Keep the feedback comingit makes a difference! Whats next? EA 3 Update Status Effects Overhaul & Expanded Settings!

Duelists, a new update has arrived! EA 3 brings a wave of improvements to CardScrawl, making battles easier to read, settings more customizable, and mechanics clearer than ever. Lets dive into whats new! Status Effect Overhaul Better Clarity at a Glance! No more guessing what effects are activestatus effects now change the color of a creatures board tile, giving you instant visual feedback: Silence Teal Double Strike Red First Strike Orange Root Green Spell Immunity Yellow Charm Pink Additionally, status effect icons in the order panel now feature their corresponding colors on the sides for quick reference! Expanded Settings Menu More Control Over Your Game! Weve expanded the settings menu and organized options into dedicated tabs. New adjustable settings include: Screen Camera Shake Toggle screen shake when taking or receiving direct damage Screen Color Flash Toggle screen flash effects when taking or receiving direct damage (Now disabled by default) SFX Volume Adjust sound effects and narrator volume Music Volume Adjust game music volume Window Render Resolution Change game window render resolution Bonus: Your settings for Screen Camera Shake and Screen Color Flash are now saved between sessions! CardScrawl is a Roguelike Deckbuilder that melds tactical combat, resource management and auto battler elements into a novel experience. Set in a dark gothic fantasy setting, CardScrawl compels the player to not only test their Deck Building skills but think strategically and survey the gameboard before every move.



Unlock and play with 30 unique champions, each possessing an exclusive powerful ultimate ability. Some Champions will be trickier to use than others, and will require more calculated decisions. Coming up with the right mix of Creatures, Enchantments, and Spoils for each Champion will be integral to ascend the Tower's dark halls unscathed.



From Orcs, Goblins and Imps to Dragons, Jabberwocks and Mind Flayers, all familiar Creatures from popular fantasy universes are here. The possibilities are endless!



The Game Board is where all the magic happens. Use Mana to summon Creatures onto the Board. From there, each Player's Creatures will automatically move to the Opponent's end of the board every turn. Strategically use Creatures offensively or defensively, but beware, if an opponent's Creature reaches the end of the Board it will attack your Health Points directly!



Employ a second Enchantment Deck, boasting powerful Spell Cards used to enhance your Creatures combat abilities. Enchantments vary greatly including Horizontal, Vertical, Random, Chain, and Board-Wide effects. You must analyze the gameboard wisely and choose the best move.



At the end of every match, choose a Spoil. These will be used to permanently upgrade your Champion. Select Spoils that mesh well with your Champions ultimate ability and current deck strategy. Your decision making skills will be put to the test.



The Chaos Tower is unforgiving and death is final. Each defeat forces you to begin again from the base of the Tower. Only the strongest and most cunning will reach the top and face the Tower Lord!
