Lead game designer at VHC, Sergio Gomez is speaking! Weve reached the halfway point of Season 2, bringing new changes, new players, and a lot of feedback, for which we are truly grateful! Thank you for helping us improve!
The first topic well cover in this diary and the next update is the
Seasonal Achievement System.
Global changes to achievement system
All Seasonal Achievements (Steam) will be removed from the game.
One of the most requested features was the ability to complete the game 100%. Seasonal achievements were a major roadblock for this goal.
Firstly, they relied on limited resources, meaning each month it became harder to achieve them, eventually becoming almost impossible. Secondly, some achievements were extremely difficult, bordering on unachievable. Moving forward, achievements will be divided into
Global (Steam) and
Internal categories.
Global Achievements:
- Can be earned at any time.
- Do not depend on limited resources.
We will continue adding global achievements to Steam for some time (until the game becomes fully self-sufficient), after which we will leave them unchanged.
Internal Achievements:
- Highlight players who spend a lot of time in the game.
- Grant additional points to the ranking system.
- Rely on limited resources.
- Serve as a new form of collectible content.
The "EVO" mechanics will remain,
except for the leaderboard tasks, which will be completely removed from the game. Upon completing internal achievements, players will now receive
Pins, which will be displayed on a dedicated page.
Pins
Pins are a new, more challenging form of collectible content. One pin page will be in focus for 12 seasons (1 year).
Unfocused pin pages will still be achievable.
How to earn Pins:
- By completing achievements on seasonal sticker pack pages.
- By randomly dropping in place of a sticker pack (the chance will be extremely low, and the drop time limited to the season).
- Through other activities (we are currently considering giving pins to active community members).
Other Details:
- Players will no longer earn ranking points for completing achievements.
- Pins will have rarities.
- Pins will grant ranking points.
- Points for pins will not be included in the 10% addition after each season.
Season 3
We have already started working on the third collection, and even for pixel art, it's turning out to be quite square! ;)
Customization
After the release of the
Pins,
Leaderboard redesign, and
Season 3, we will finally introduce one of the most exciting features of our project:
Profile Customization.
We want to make our game
more social, so we believe that personalizing collectors' profiles is of great importance.
- Every player will have a main profile page that can be customized to showcase the crown jewels of their collection.
- Customization will include background images, player banners, and more.
How can players unlock customization?
Initially, customization will only be available to those who own complete collections. For each full collection, the player earns 1 level. Each level unlocks new customization features!
Later, we will introduce an in-game currency, but more on that in the future.
Future plans
Due to shifting priorities, the roadmap has been slightly adjusted, and the
Referral and
Betting systems have been postponed.
We also aim to deepen the clicker mechanics and add more social interaction. Through this, we hope to motivate players to visit each other's profiles. However, we are not ready to share more details at this time.
