ExoColony Updated to version 0.63

Hello Colonists! We have released our v0.63 Major Update for ExoColony: Planet Survival. We are adding more advanced buildings, which are adding more depth to the game. Based on your feedback we also added some QoL improvements.

* Added over 35 new research options.

Gameplay


* Required research in tutorial goals added.

UI


* You can now see how many research points are available in new research detail. * Adjustments to research window to reflect all resolutions. * Building Overview have merged relax and education buildings into work tab.

Settings


* You can now adjust Colonist's aging speed - Normal/-25%/-50% * Added tooltips to each settings to be more clear what you are setting up. * Deleting save now requires confirmation.

Graphics


* New Graphics for Moss build.

Bug Fixes


* Fixed various typos in all languages. * Texts for various events, research, builds, tutorials updated to be more clear. * Game is now paused when research window is opened. * Relax buildings no longer reports warning when without colonists. Happy colonizing!

ExoColony Updated to version 0.60

Hello Colonists! We have released our v0.60 Hotfix for ExoColony: Planet Survival. Based on your feedback here's what we improved:

Bug Fixes


* Fixed an issue when Colonists could fall to another room. * Fixed an issue with time flow calculations. * Factory recipe unlocking system updated. Researched recipe is now automatically turned on. * Oxygen consumption is now correctly used only by colonists. (Dev. note: It was used by industry and power buildings, which led to transformation into pollution and then filtered out back into nitrogen. That could lead to oxygen levels dropping and room pressure increasing.)

Optimalization


* Performance optimizations when having a lot of active orders, which could lead to significant FPS drop.

UI


* Several icons updated. * Several triggers and events updated to match the flow.

Localization

Complete Overhaul

Today it is not an usual update. We had a lot of meetings in the past few weeks, because we needed to see the bigger picture of where our game is heading. Thanks to our testers, who reported that information and game mechanics was really fast going and in overall a lot of mechanics were fast paced. So we decided to make a couple of big changes in gameplay, which I can already confirm were pretty good decisions and the game is already looking much cleaner, slower paced, clearer and more chill to play. For example:

  • This is a colony sim game, so we expect that your colonists won't see all the changes they are working for, but their kids and grandkids will. We had morning, afternoon and night shifts which are gone. Now you will see only 1 "shift" and that is our complete cycle, where colonists either work, study, relax or sleep. This results in 3 times faster aging for your colonists.
  • Lots of colony sim games have a truckload of different item types and we are no fans of that. So we cut out almost a half of the current items and made it more understandable and simpler. For example you don't need 4 different goods for your colonists, instead you can have only 1 Basic goods and it will be the same. At least you don't need to worry about 4 different item chains.
  • We stretched out game mechanics from each other. BIG time. So you don't have to face the pressure of something going bad. Now you can sit and enjoy building your colony. Of course you have to keep an eye for basic needs for your colonists. Without food and a functional atmosphere no one can last forever.
  • Our graphic designer made a lot of changes to our current and new assets to set the right mood and they are a little bit more moody and depressed, but with the expansion and new research, the building will get more colorful and brighter.
  • In our demo tests we were missing your ultimate goal, which is of course survival, but you need some kind of higher goal and that would be the terraformation! So you can escape the depths of the planet and start to thrive on the surface. Well that was the couple of main changes which are undergoing. In a few weeks we should put it all together.     New Features

    • New Tier Cycle - Research:
      • We understand that colony sim games can be overwhelming with all the things you need to learn to make things work. So we decided after a small tutorial YOU will be in charge of what do you want and need to do next. Running low on storage? No problem just research bigger storage or store into dumpsites, etc.
      • Each colonist will produce passively research points. Higher educated colonists will yield higher amounts, but with no education you can expect very little gain. But each researcher in the Research Center will help you with points.

    • New Buildings:
      • Research Center (Education)
        • Researcher worker slot increases research points gain
    Changes
    • Farm Incubator now produces more food (Basic Food production per recipe increased from 0.3 to 0.4)
    • Mining time decreased from base 10s to 8s - (In the early stages of game you spend lot of time digging, so we speed it up a little to keep player more engaged on things that really matters.)

    • Several bug fixes
    • Fixed Rare Crashes: Addressed rare instances of crashes and game-breaking bugs reported by the community.

    • Added Research tab categorized by buildings type

      • Now you can grow Food for your Colonists. It takes couple of jobs to make a chain complete. From transforming Earth into Soil, Soil and Water into Basic Food and in the end purify the Polluted Water into Clean Water again.

    Prosper Through the Ages

    Principle of Mass Conservation

    Food

    Atmosphere

    Convert exhaled carbon dioxide back into oxygen for your colonists. Tackle industrial pollution and manage various gases. As your base expands, maintaining atmospheric pressure becomes essential.

    Industry

    Begin with mining ores and minerals, refine them into advanced materials essential for constructing buildings and crafting items. With each step, transform raw resources into the foundational elements of your expanding colony.

    Terraformation (during EA)

    Transform the planet's surface and temperature to make it habitable by managing temperature control, ecosystem growth, and water resources. Create a breathable atmosphere and turn the planet into your new home.
