Smaller update this time around, in preparation for the Next Fest.

Visual Upgrades

We added some color to specific text keywords, so that it's easier to recognize them, like poison or stamina. Also, we added in some new minimap icons, so that it's easier to locate yourself throughout the game. The inventory screen now has a description of your character's skill, so that you can read up on it during the run if you need to.

Menus

We added anti-aliasing options, which you can find in the setting menu. Also, there's now a credits page! Check it out if you'd like.

Localization

We've added 2 more new languages: Spanish and French! Not much to say here, try them out if you want, let us know if you find any problems!

Hey everyone, first big update of the year! Most of our work has been behind the scenes recently, but we've been also polishing up chapter 1 for the upcoming Steam Next Fest.

New Playable Languages

We've added in the option to play in German, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. We're also working on more localization options, so keep an eye out if you're interested.

Run Selection

There's now a new screen when starting a run to select your starting point. This is mostly a nice visual way to see your progress for now, but it'll be used to select between different chapters in the future!

New Weapon Sprites

We've changed the look of a few of the weapons! They should feel more unique now, especially when seeing them all lined up back at your camp.

The Rest

Lots of bug fixes as usual, but more importantly: there was a big focus on performance. While still not perfect, we're doing what we can to make loading times as quick as possible. There's also been an effort to reduce RAM usage while playing the game, so that as many people can experience the game as possible!

Hey everyone! We wanted to release one final update before the end of the year, and here it is!

New Weapon System

We've made significant changes to how the weapon system works. This new system should be more balanced and, more importantly, more fun to use. We'll continue refining it in the future, so keep an eye out for updates.

Puzzle Rooms

To break up the non-stop action, we've added puzzle rooms to every floor. You might find your companions in these rooms, so feel free to ask for their help!

New Level-Up Talents

We've introduced some exciting new talents you can acquire during your run, making the experience feel more unique and varied!

Improved Visuals, Effects, and Environment

This one has been featured in almost every update: in this version, we've added SFX for your skill coming off cooldown and your magic life restoring, better visuals for the level up animation, more animations in general, new environment details... There's a lot.

The Rest

Here are a few highlights worth noting:

• Improved offline support: the game now properly recognizes when Steam is offline and will still function correctly.
• New blacksmith purchases: potion upgrades!
• Controller improvements: enhanced rumble feedback, better aim assist, and more.

Hey all! We've been pretty busy, going to various events but we still cooked up a few patches for you.

Upgraded Visuals

We've been working on the game's visuals for a while now. From adding in VFX for rewards and potions, to upgrading the old visuals for breaking pillars, we've done a lot. Most noticeably, the game has now wind that interact with some objects and we've added some new post-processing effects that should make the game look much better. Also, we noticed during live testing that many people didn't notice the rooms had doors on all four sides, so we added some better indicators for these. Hopefully they're more noticeable now.

Better Controller Support

We've been having many people test the game on controller recently, and to be honest it just wasn't great. We've greatly improved how they work, and are still working on a few other tweaks that should make it much better.

Multiplayer Elevator

In multiplayer, now when anyone interacts with the elevator, a 10 second countdown will start, which will take you to the next floor. This can be cancelled and restarted by opening any menu, including your inventory. But worry not: if everyone is present, you can all interact with the elevator to speed this up significantly.

As we gear up for our appearance at the Brasil Game Show, we've been working on a couple new features and bug fixes. If you have any comments or feedback, or just wanna chat, join us in our Discord!

New Reward System

We've changed up how equipment drops are handled. Now, you can select between 3 options of gear whenever you open a chest, to let you have a little more control over your runs. After selecting an item, your old one will still be accessible too, if you want to give it to your friends or companion.

Controller Adjustments

After some feedback that the game wasn't too great to play on controllers, we've gone back and changed that control scheme a bit. Mainly, we added aim assist to controllers, which has improved the gameplay by a lot. Also, you now passively aim in the same direction you're walking! So there's less need to use a claw grip.

Boss Changes

We went back and changed how some of the tower knight's attacks work: they should flow better into each other, and be more predictable as well. Should be less buggy too.

Singleplayer Pause

Pretty self-explanatory. If you're playing singleplayer, pressing Escape or Start will now pause the game.

The Rest

Besides the usual bug fixes, we've added some quality of life features, such as saving which companion you've selected so that you don't need to re-select them on every run. There's also some new environment art, with rooms having proper floors now.

We've been working on a few updates these past couple weeks. Mostly bug fixes, but we also included one or two new features for you to try out.

Tome/Scroll Rework

The magical weapons were a bit underwhelming to use, so we changed them slightly. Players can now shoot at will, and projectiles home when in range of an enemy.

Companion

Tweaked companion behavior, including AI improvements for better player following and combat interaction as well as balancing skills.

Minimap Improvements

Added icons to rooms, to display which rewards are available after clearing one.

New Environments

Added some new room designs, with all new furniture. Also, breakables now have a chance to drop Tears when broken (finally!)

Blacksmith

The blacksmith now offers better bonuses when players use his services, including discounts on weapon upgrades and increased efficiency in upgrades.

The Rest

Many, many bug fixes (disconnects should be a lot less frequent), missing SFX added, UI improvements, improved some interactables' visibility.
