Sunlight is finally out in the world. It has been a strange project to work on, especially since its been developed in isolation during a very strange time. Its always scary to share work, but when people seem to like it its also super rewarding! Everything is connected, and Sunlight is no different. For every copy of the game that is downloaded, a tree will be planted. Visit the Sunlight steam page Hope you like it! - The Krillbite team
When we released Among the Sleep five years ago, we didn't really know what our next game would be, we only knew that we wanted to make something completely different from Among the Sleep. That game turned out to be Mosaic. It's a very different game from Among the Sleep. In Mosaic you play a disillusioned office worker living in a dystopian and dark version of our modern society. You are a tiny part of a complex and ungraspable huge machinery. You have no direction in life, no influence and feel alienated and alone. Whereas we tackled horror from the perspective of a child in Among the Sleep, Mosaic is more about horror seen through the eye of an adult tackling our modern lifestyle. The development of Mosaic has been a long and complicated process for us. We signed on with publisher Raw Fury last help to get assistance and help to wrap this game up. And now it's finally done. It's out and released. Available on Apple Arcade, Steam and GOG. If you liked Among the Sleep and/or The Plan, we hope you will check out Mosaic. We feel that we have put a lot of ourselves and our identity into the game. It's a very personal story about humanity, society and life. And we are so happy to be able to share it with you. https://store.steampowered.com/app/349270/Mosaic/
Hi everyone!
Last week we celebrated five years of Among the Sleep here in Oslo, Norway. We threw a big party for the Norwegian game industry, with donuts, prizes and Marioke.
It was a wonderful evening, and also a very humbling evening for us to see so many of our friends, colleagues and partners who came and partied with us. We are so thankful that so many people have enjoyed our game. Thank you each and every one of you who have supported us.
We also had a studio visit from Soedesco, who have helped us port and publish the game on Switch. They're also the publishers of the physical editions of the game, and they did an interview with our CEO while they were in Oslo. Check it out here:

Hi everyone! We can't believe it's been almost five years since we released Among the Sleep. A lot has happened in that time - we have made a new game called Mosaic that will be released very soon, but we have also ported Among the Sleep to many different platforms. The last one out is the Nintendo Switch. With the help of the wonderful people in Soedesco Among the Sleep will celebrate it's fifth year by debuting on Nintendo Switch May 29. Here is a video showing what the game looks like on the Switch: https://youtu.be/clcdFmrUUWc To all those who have bought and played the game - thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.

Greetings one and all!
Were back with a big update! Since last time weve upgraded to Unity 5. This was a very substantial upgrade that changed parts of the games structure so that we had to find new solutions to various problems. Some of these are more or less noticeable than others. The biggest changes are the ones affecting performance. Weve been very hard at work to make the game run a lot better, increasing frame rates and decreasing loading times, especially in lower end computers. Weve also added a commentary track where you can get a bit of the developers thoughts about various aspects of the production. By turning on the commentary track in the options menu, you will find commentary nodes throughout the various chapters. Walk up to them and give them a click to hear our lovely voices talking about video gamey stuff! Also, cloud saving is now enabled. Important notice: Your old save files will not work with the new updated version of the game. You can keep using the old version of the game by opting in to use the development branch on steam. You can also use the console to unlock chapters. For more information, see: http://www.krillbite.com/2016/02/17/major-steam-build-update/
Patch notes:
Unity 5 conversion:
- Slight changes to physics behavior
- Visual changes and minor improvements
- Tons of bug fixes and tweaks
- Brand new manual occlusion system
- General optimization
- Cloud saving now enabled!
- Added commentary track!
- Bug fixes of audio system
- Overall tweaks of ambience and soundscapes
- Minor language tweaks and bug fixes
- Added Polish subtitles

Heya! What's good folks?
We're here to bring you the new patch notes and tell you a little bit about the current status here at the studio. We've finally fixed the demo version of the game for Mac and Linux, which should now be available for download. We are aware that there have been Mac and Linux users reporting issues with playing the game, so any feedback on how the game is running now will be greatly appreciated! It's been a few weeks since the release of the DLC and we hope you have been enjoying it. We had great fun creating it, and it was very interesting to develop it alongside the feedback of some of our backers. Since then, we've started working on a brand new project. We're super excited about it, and we're looking forward to sharing it with you some time in the near future!
The future of Among the Sleep
The current focus on AtS is porting it to the Playstation 4 console. The development is coming along nicely, but it's a bit too early to estimate a release date. There's still some challenges to overcome, as there are completely different requirements for a game to be released on PS4 compared to PC, so it's a lot more complicated than just building it. We hope to have this ready as soon as possible, as we're very excited about seeing our game on a console! We're also working on implementing and finishing the support for Oculus DK2. As AtS is on the wave of the first games that is being developed to support the new VR technology, we're bumping into problems that takes a bit longer to solve as there's not many resources of information to look up about it yet. We're loving what we're seeing so far, AtS in VR is an amazingly immersive experience. So hold on to your VR headsets a little longer! Optimization is a big one we're currently working on, which has a direct connection with both the PS4 and DK2.
Version 1.3.1 Patch Notes

- Fixed some small objects falling through the floor
- Improved visuals overall
- Updated lightmap
- Intro no longer breaks due to VR errors
- Fixed mouse stuttering
- Added fan-translations for Czech and Hungarian. (Thanks to everyone who participated!)
- Edited some button labels to clarify meaning
- Fixed some particles that did not disappear when reloading a level
- Fixed some cases where objects disappeared when viewed from certain angles

The free DLC for Among the Sleep is out!
DLC page here We've been working on this extra little bit of the game along with our Kickstarter backers since release this summer. The free DLC contains a whole new chapter, which is meant to be played after the main game is completed (as it expands a bit on the main story). We've conveniently named it "Prologue", so for those of you who've finished the game and long for more: enjoy! It should update to your copy of the game automatically, and can be accessed from the chapter selection screen in the main menu. For the Linux people we have to apology since we met a breaking bug which we're sorting out. We should have that sorted and up by Friday. Get a feel for the new setting in the DLC teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8ZW48s42Wc On the horizon We're continuing to develop the PS4-version, and adding support for new features (such as the Oculus DK2-support). Well also continue optimizing the game in general (like the IPD/FOV-issues on Oculus DK1 sets) and fixing all the bugs we find. Please keep sending us bug reports, as they help us track them down easier. - Love from the Krillbite team

Hi dear Linux gamers, We've just updated the game with a minor patch only for you Linux users. This patch doesn't contain anything new, but has been given a lot of love to address the bugs you have been experiencing. We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope this fixes any problems you might have. Hi everyone!
Touching base Hope all of you is having a great summer! We just wanted to touch base after almost 2 months of Among the Sleep out in the stores. It’s been a very rewarding and exciting experience for everybody here at Krillbite! Some of you have been asking about Patch 1.2.0 and when it would be possible to get your hands on it. We've been hard at work, and it's finally ready. People should expect an auto-update pretty soon. Among other things, you can find a lot of bug fixes, with the addition of 5.1 audio support and depth of field for better visual fidelity. Keep sending us bug reports with dxdiag and log files. Also, after coming from the intense launch-sprint the team has had a much needed break for the last 2-3 weeks. When everyone is back we'll get working full speed on the upcoming DLC for Among the Sleep, which should be expected this fall!
Some other news!
- Among the Sleep would never have existed if it wasn't for our lovely Kickstarter backers. Kickstarter have recently launched a Play Now area, where you can find released games funded by Kickstarter!
- We recently attended the Develop conference in Brighton, UK. Bjørnar & Martin were there to showcase the game after being shortlisted for the Indie Dev showcase!
- Among the Sleep has currently sold more than 30.000 copies across all channels, which means we'll be able to keep deliver new and exciting projects for you to play in the future! This is incredible and we want to thank all of you!

Hi everybody!
Among the Sleep have now been 1 week on the Steam store! Even though most of us were completely drained of energy after the hectic crunch leading up to release, we've not been resting yet. It’s been a really exciting week, so it’s time we’d touch base with you again - here is a small recap:
- We've been seeing a lot of reviews popping up all over the web. A lot of them very positive, and some of them with useful criticism! We have been taking all of it in, and plan to use everything we learn in our journey forward. Both in coming patches for Among the Sleep and future projects! :) Considering this is our first game, and it all started as a student project, we’re incredibly happy about the games reception.
- So far we've sold 17,603 copies of Among the Sleep on Steam, which we are completely blown away by!
- There has been a lot of watching let's plays on youtube/twitch at the office the last week, and we love seeing peoples reactions. It's one of the most rewarding aspects of making games! It’s been especially rewarding watching peoples reaction when they reach the end *no spoilers*.
- We answered tons of questions on reddit. Feel free to browse them here!
- We also just updated the demo for the game, and it should now be the same version of chapter 1 as in the released game. We will continuously work towards keeping the demo and full game on the same version number, which means that any overall fixes will apply to both!

Great news everyone! Among the Sleep is basically ready, and will be released for PC, Mac and Linux on May 29th, 2014! (And PS4 a while after - more details to follow)
But isn’t that’s only a week away? Yes, yes it is! And during the short wait, please enjoy the freshly squeezed Announcement Trailer! A lot is going through our minds now. There’s both lot’s of stress and joy in finally being able to share our project to the world! It’s also been a long ride for us, so it’s not without melancholy that we are now gazing upon the end. But it is mostly with excitement and pride - we cannot wait to share the game with the world, and in turn having the world tell us its thoughts. And feelings. But we still have one week to go, and we want to spend every single minute to make the game as good as we can. There’s always a small detail that can be improved, a bug that can be found and quashed, and we will not rest until our tired fingers push the great and powerful Release Button in one week! - The Krillbite Team
Hi everyone!
Lots of things are happening simultaneously right now. Most importantly, we’re actually approaching the release of Among the Sleep! We couldn’t be more thrilled, even though it’s a bit hard to comprehend... Anyhow, we’re very super-close to announcing more release details - it’s not as far off as you might think :) Currently we’re intensively testing and polishing the whole thing, optimising general performance and VR, improving visuals, doing localization to the languages listed on the Store Page, implementing full gamepad support and improving the menus. A good sign that we’re approaching the end, is that we’re implementing the credits. Look at that endless list of wonderful names from our Kickstarter!
Hey look! An in-game screenshot!
Nominated for the Nordic Indie Sensation
Among the Sleep have been nominated for the Nordic Indie Sensation Award this year! The exhibition and award show will take place next week in Malmö, Sweden, organized by the always lovely Copenhagen Game Collective. There are lot’s of other great nominees as well, check’em out! Karoline, Svein & Martin from Krillbite will be there to showcase the game, both with and without an Oculus Rift. The event is free, so please drop by and say hi if you’re in the area!
Lets end on a cuuute note!
Our new office mascot is not really helping out much, but he still keeps the moral high during the final stages of development!
(Protip for others marketing their indiegame: for some reason, this instantly became our most popular news post ever on Facebook & Twitter) Until next time, thanks for your support and enthusiasm! All the best, - The Krillbite team

The Game includes VR Support
Among the Sleep LIN [2.92 G]
The game explores horror through atmosphere and exploration, not with scores and combat systems. In Among the Sleep you’re vulnerable, scared, and trying to make sense of the world.
The game has Oculus Rift DK1 support, but further support will not be developed.
What people are saying
- "More, please!"
- Kotaku - "Everything, from the sound of infantile breathing to the wobbliness of the camera and the unsteadiness of little hands, has been designed to accurately put ourselves behind the eyes of a toddler. Watching the trailer, the effect is simply astounding, while the Paranormal Activity-style scares that surround the child are pulled off with panache."
- Gamefront - "Its depiction of a first-person horror told through the eyes and stumbling little legs of a two-year old is as intriguing as anything I've seen all year, and reminiscent of a time when games actively sought out new ways to play and new stories to tell."
