A new update was released today, with a lot of changes in the graphics!
More detail
Every block has been reworked with more detailed, less repeating textures.
Higher render distance
In "High Quality" setting, you'll now have an overview of what's very far in the world: you can see trees and points of interest from a high distance. This also reduce the way trees and structures were popping from nowhere when you move.
Better quality
With an improved SSAO and new edge smoothing system, the "High Quality" setting is now even more different from "Normal Quality" than before. This is the same scene, first in "Normal Quality":

Hello,
A new update was released today, bringing some new features suggested by the community.
New XP and Level system
When you beat a monster, discover a new place or complete a quest, you'll now gain some XP. If you get enough XP you'll level up, and each new level gives you 10% more health and 10% more stamina.
Keep inventory on death
This was suggested by several players through the community hub. When you die, you'll no longer have to go back to the place you died to pick up your inventory items. Now, the only thing you drop is 20% of your Metal and 10% of your Crystal. You keep everything else in your inventory.
Running no longer uses stamina
You can now keep running without using your stamina. This should prevent you from running out of stamina when you need it to cast a fireball... Because of this, the key bind which was used previously to run is now use to walk slowly, and default is now to run.
Misc
Other changes include some bug fixes and Improved 3rd person view. All these changes aim at making the game more fun to play according to user suggestions through the community forums. Please keep giving ideas and suggestions to make the game even better! Thank you again for your support!

Hello, A new version was released today, focusing on suggestions from players in the Steam discussions.
Houses and loot
A wider variety of house can now be encountered in the world and villages, and they now contain chests with randomized loot. Note: only regions you didn't visit already before can contain the new varied loot and houses.
Portals
If you have created more than 2 portals, going through a portal will ask you which portal you want to teleport to. Use the rename option of the portal to know where you are heading!
Note: this only works in singleplayer right now.
Inventory
- when you add an item/craft to your hotbar which was already full, it will replace the last one instead of shifting all the elements of your hotbar - dropping an item to the ground with right click is now made clear by a message
Misc
- to toggle the Flying Wind to Creative Wind, you now need to hit space twice or use the key bind you chose in Controls. This is to reduce the accidental toggle to Creative Wind. - when you invite a friend to your world, he now shares permissions with you by default, use Tab to remove permissions - the compass now shows markers more or less transparently in relation to the distance, while the custom marker is always shown clearly. - beds now display a short transition to toggle day time - it's no longer possible to /ban yourself accidently - increased the size of Golems hitbox - fixed a bug which leaded to see fireballs stuck in the air - various bug fixes Thank again for your feedback in the Steam discussions!

Hello, A patch was released today, focusing on suggestions from players in the Steam discussions.
Wind
When you have the Flying Wind element in hand, press space to slowly levitate in the middle of the air, while being able to change the block in your hand to build something high or big. Press Space to go up or Shift to go down. To disable this type of flight, press space twice or take the wind element in hand and left click. Note: you can't use attacks while levitating. This type of flight uses less wind resources when you don't move.
Items on display
You can now break item frames or altar containing a sword or an orb and the item won't get destroyed as before, instead it will fall and you are able to pick it up.
New video settings options
The sun now is less glaring when you look in its direction. In addition to that, two new videos settings options can be changed when you are in High quality: - sun-shafts - SSAO
Misc.
- when you break a chest, a oven or anything created with the "Transform into Object" tool, you can pick up some of the material you used to build it. - these objects are now a bit quicker to break without a tool - fixed a bug which made that when you give life to several creatures, their armor and strength could be the same (and abnormally weak) instead of depending on the material you use to build the creature. - fixed a bug when you give life to creatures the close and reopen the game later, their armor and strength could be abnormally weak. - fixed some bugs with AI - various bug fixes Thank again for your feedback in the Steam discussions!

A small patch was released today, here is the changelog:
- fixed a bug where the altars where you must place Orbs could be accidentally destroyed. If for some reason, you can't complete the main quest because of issues with the six orbs, please report it on the forum.
- small quantities of metal blocks can now be found on the ground in every biomes. For greater quantities, visit Desert or Mesa biomes. Note: the new metal blocks only spawn in new worlds or areas you didn't already visited.

Version 1.0 of Alchemist's Awekening is now available!
We appreciate your support and love for Alchemist's Awekening since the first alpha versions.
After a few months of development, Version 1.0 is here today and it comes with a lot of exciting features!
If you already tried an older version of the game, please create a new world to experience all the new features. Also, because of some changes in the world generation with 1.0 release, the official server map was reset.
Play with your friends
Playing in survival or creative co-op mode is easier than ever, simply use the "Invite friends" button while in a world or the "Join you friends" button to play with your Steam friends: online servers are no longer the only way to play with other people, you can invite your friends to every world you create. This also fully support worlds with custom items found on the Workshop or created by you.
Online servers still offer a way to create bigger communities, with a world which is always online and persisted in a dedicated server.
New map options
It's now possible to add a marker in your map by right-clicking. This marker can be seen in the map, the compass, and by your friends in co-op mode. Your friends can also see your position on the map if you choose the "Share permissions" with them. Use the Tab key to see the list of connected players and share permissions.
New creatures
Beware of some new hostiles and powerful creatures
Big Sand block and big Ice block
Some Big Sand blocks and big Ice blocks can now be found in the world. Give life to a creature and it will be able to continuously mine Sand and Ice for you if you bring it near a Big Sand block or a big Ice block. This is also possible with Stone and Metal.
This allow for the automation of production of every base element with the exception of Crystal.
Unveil some mysteries
There is more to discover. Create a new world in survival mode and explore the world alone of with friends in co-op. Ask villagers for interesting places to visit.

A new update was released today, introducing some new content.
New mobs
Two new types of enemies can now be encountered in the world. They are still being tweaked and appear rarely.
Both can come with various weapons, including some enchanted weapons and bows. When you defeat them, you can pick up their weapon.
New spell
A new spell can now be casted: the Lava Stone Tempest. Combine Fire, Wind and Stone to launch some incandescent lava stone on enemies.
Changes in the Recipe Book
From now on, the Recipe Book only display the recipes of block and item that you already crafted or destroyed at least once. Other items are shown as "unknown" and you need to discover them in the world or find manually their recipe.
Misc.
- the map and compass now display the location of your latest death. A new update was released today, introducing the Altar of Enchantment and the Recipe Book.
Enchantments
Using the Altar of Enchantment, you can add up to 3 enchantment effects to a weapon: each element has a different effect, and the amount of each element you put in the enchant is the amount of charges the effect will have. Additionally, you can rename your weapon.
Please note that the Anvil is now the only way to create a weapon. Previously, the Anvil was used to repair weapons, which can now be done using a repair enchantment.
Recipe Book
The Inventory now has a "Recipe Book" tab which helps you learn how to craft blocks, weapons, potions and other items.
Misc.

Hello, A new update was released today, improving the UI and controls, for a more intuitive gameplay.
Compass
On top of the screen, you'll see some indication on the direction you're looking at, and points of interest which are also in your map.
Break and place blocks and items
The new default controls for breaking and placing blocks have been changed: - the first slot of the hotbar is now your empty hand. When it is selected, you can break blocks using Left or Right Click. - when you have a block or item in your hand, press Left Click to place it, and Right Click to remove and collect a block. - you can go back to the previous controls in the Controls menu where there is a "Mouse button to place a block" setting: if you change this, you'll need to press Right Click to place it, and Left Click to remove it just like before this update.
"Transform into object" tool
The "Make useful" tool is renamed "Transform into object" and now offers a preview of the result. You'll need to hold Left click for one second to transform a shape into an object. During this one second, you'll see a preview and will be able to cancel the action if the preview does not match your expected result.
"Gife life" power
The "Gife life" power now has a preview of the blocks affected. You'll need to hold Left click for one second to give life to a shape. During this one second, you'll see which blocks will be part of the creature, and you will be able to cancel the action if you realise you're giving life to your entire house and not just a few blocks ;)
Inventory
The hotbar as been improved in the inventory, with icons making it clear that you remove a item from the hotbar, and the possibility to swap item places in the hotbar.
Misc.
- fixed a bug causing random teleportations, sharks flying in villages and other stange things - several other bug fixes - added more plains to the world generation - you can now press Space twice in quick succession to toggle fly mode in creative mode

After a slow period for a few months, the development of Alchemist's Awakening is now going fast again, and a new update was released today, introducing some horses.
Horses must be tamed using the power you get by combining the Electricity, Crystal and Metal elements.
Once on a horse, you might prefer to use the Third Person view: remember that at any moment in the game, you can switch from First Person to Third Person using the F5 key.
Horse are a quick way to travel and you can use a weapon or power while the horse is moving.
Other changes include:
- changes in the menu UI
- changes in the Third Person view
- mobs can now swim
- mobs will no longer follow you forever when you try to avoid combat
- mobs can climb on small obstacles more smoothly
- some bug fixes

Hello,
A new update was released today, and it is now possible to send Steam invites to your friend to let them join your world easier than before.
At anytime while in game, simply use the "Invite friends" menu and your friend will receive an invite.
Using this feature requires a good internet connection speed because you host the game for your friend and your world needs to be streamed to him.
This update also fix a lot of bugs in multiplayer servers. Because a lot of internal changes have been made, it might also create new bugs, if so please report them!

Hello,
A new update was released today, introducing a lot of new blocks!
Pipes
Pipes are used to transfer some elements from a source device, such as a windmill, to a receiver such as a chest. 3 type of pipes can be crafted: - Fire pipes, using Metal and Fire - Wind pipes, using Metal and Wind - Electricity pipes, using Metal and Electricity You can use them on ovens, windmills, thunder rods, chests and some other items.
Valves and Switches
Valves can be put on Fire and Wind pipes to close the pipe. They can be activated by an electrical signal coming from an Electricity Pipe. Switches can be put on Electricity pipes to close the pipe.
Buttons and Pressure Plates
Buttons and pressure plates can be connected to Electricity Pipes and will produce some electrical impulses when used. Craft them using electricity + metal.
Electrical circuits
You can use the 'And' pipe, 'Xor pipe' and 'Switch' pipe to get a signal only if some conditions are met. Craft them using crystal + electricity + metal.
TNT
TNT is an exploding block which will break surroundings blocks when activated, by hand or by an Electricity Pipe.
Electric Lamp
This new lamp must be powered by an Electricity Pipe. Craft it using Fire, Sand, Electricity and Metal.
Fireball Launcher
The Fireball Launcher must be fueled using Fire Pipes and Wind Pipes, then activated using Electricity Pipes, to attack nearby mobs. More new blocks using the new pipe system will come soon! Thanks again for your support. Regards, Marc

Today, I'm very pleased to release an update which sets the foundation of a new world generation in Alchemist's Awakening.
Here is an overview of the changes:
A whole new world
The world generation has been entirely rewritten, to allow more diversity and biomes.
Around 20 different biomes are now in the game, and more content will be added in the next versions.
Armors
Armors can be found in chest in the world. They provide extra resistance when you wear them, as well as a stamina bonus when using Light Armors.
Armors cannot be crafted, you'll have to explore the world to find them, usually in chest around big structures!
Mobs
Mobs have been improved and some new mobs have been added: Panthers, and Lava Golems.
A lot more is yet to discover in the game, remember to create a new world to get all the new features!

To do this, simply hold the Ctrl key while you have a wood or column block in hand.

A new update was released today, introducing a new weapon: the Bow!
The bow can be crafted using Metal + Nature. Arrows will be crafted on-the-fly when you use the bow.
In the future, several different bows will be available with different powers and arrows.
Storms
New weathers have been added too, including some storm, rain and snow. Please note that in Creative mode, the weather will always be sunny. You can use the /setWeather command to change weather.

A new update was released today, introducing a way to make blocks look aged, mossy or dirty:
You will find 3 new powers to add dirt (craft it with Sand), erosion (craft it with Stone) or moss (craft it with Nature) to blocks.
Another new change is the snow which will appear on tops of blocks in cold biomes:

A new update was released today, here is the changelog:
- SSAO (improved ambiant lighting) when graphics are set to High Quality
- Custom texture packs for maps
You can now put custom block, grass and/or glass textures in a /textures/ directory in your map.
This will replace the default textures for this map. Then you can share the map to the Steam Workshop and other players will receive the custom textures too.

Raft

The Picture Frame is a painting that you can customize by entering the internet URL of a picture. Use blue clothes fabric blocks to craft it.

Other changes

Hello, A new update was released today, introducing some changes in how companions and creature you give life to work. - You can now transform a creature back to stone (it's like cancelling the giving life power) - Creatures now have more or less strength and armor depending on what material you use to create them. New possibilities for Map makers
- It is now possible to create NPC using the models of animals and mobs which are already in game and give them different behavior. For example, you could create a pet wolf. Some human models have also been added to let you create NPC who gives you quest or other things:
- Some new automnal leaves and grass has been added.

Hello, A new update was released today, introducing some changes in terrain and two new items:
Pickaxe
The Pickaxe can be crafted in survival and let you change the terrain: left click to dig, right click to add material back to the ground.
Sapling
The Sapling can be crafted in survival and will turn into a tree after a while.
Terrain
The transition between materials has been totally rewritten to be more natural.
A lot of new terrain type has been added: lava, black rock, etc... Currently you can only see them in Creative mode by placing them with the Terraforming Material Rod. In the future, new biomes will be added and will use those materials. Thank you again for your support!

Hi, A new update was released today with a lot of interesting features for map makers. Here is what you can do to create and share adventure maps:
Create custom blocks
You can now create custom block which can be placed and broken exactly like normal blocks in the game. They can contain a mixture of all elements including grass and glass, and can emit light. Example here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=774423466
Create custom mobs/NPC

This version also comes with a first version of the quest editor. There are still some bugs at the moment. I'll write a full guide on how to create quests later on.
Add waypoints to your maps

Other changes

A new update was released today, introducing some new items:
The Anvil can be used to repair weapon and tools:
You can also create some Portals to travel faster to places you visited. Each portal teleports you to the next one you created:
Portals can be named and will appear in the map:
A green portal can be used only by the player who created it. If you are creating a map, you can place blue "Public Portals" which can be used by everybody.
In multiplayer, it is now possible to create some Protection Crystals which work like the Totem and will prevent other player to destroy what you built.
Other changes include some mob AI tweaks and a lot of bug fixes.

A new update was released today, introducing an Alchemy Bench which make it possible to create some useful potions!
To create it, build the shape you see on the left and transform it using the "Make Useful" tool.
Also, starting from this version, the amount of each element you can hold in your inventory is limited to 100, so you'll really need to use chests to store more resources.
Other changes include:

Hello,
A new update was released today, and it is now possible to share whole maps on the Steam Workshop!
To share a map, open the inventory while in Creative mode and you'll see a new "options" tab where you can set the spawn position and publish the map.
Of course, maps can use customs items/weapons made by you or other people. Any customs items used in the map will automatically be joined to the map, players won't need to subscribe separately, in fact you won't even need to publish the items separately if you don't want too.

- New mob: Skeleton (mostly in Snow and Desert biomes)

A new update is now available, offering you a glimpse at what you will really be able to do in Creative mode: it is now possible to create new items, weapons, or objects such as chests and doors and script them to offer new gameplay options. You can also share your creations on the Steam Workshop. The good news is that it also works in Multiplayer: if you invite friends, they will be able to use the items you created. And if you own a server, simply copy your "items" folder from your game to your server folder: players won't even need to subscribe to the items on the Workshop, they will directly be able to use every items you added! The GUI which lets you create the new items is not totally complete, some options need to be found in the "Edit advanced options" window which is a bit obscure, but it will change with next updates. I'll also publish a guide for commands and options that you can use, if you have any question feel free to post it in the group discussions!

In Alchemist's Awakening, you are a young alchemist who is still discovering how much power he has.
There are 9 primary elements, which can be mixed together and recombined into blocks of different shapes, or used as attacks against enemies.
Explore
Explore an infinite and procedurally generated open-world, use the Wind element to fly from a desert island to an iceberg, discover ruins of ancient builds deep in the forest, find rare resources and settle down somewhere to shape your own world as everything you see is made of small building blocks. Each block is unique: every stone block is different yet perfectly shaped to fit the place put it in, every leaf, every piece of wood is unique.
Build
As an Alchemist, you can recombine the 9 primary elements into other shapes and materials. Then you can place blocks anywhere in the world and build anything you can think of.
Build machines to help you collect elements: for example, create a big wind turbine to collect the Wind element.
Creative Mode
If you like building more than everything, the Creative mode is made for you, with tools that let you build even faster.
Use powerful tools to terraform your own world, and then share your creations on the Steam Workshop or create a server.
The Creative mode will also let you create a real adventure map: in a coming update you will even be able write your own quests, script your own special blocks with true gameplay changes.
Combat
Every element can be used as a weapon: launch fireballs, create a strong wind that repulse enemies, or instantly create a sword in your hand. Your attacks will get even more powerful when you combine several elements.
Fight againt the monsters you encounter in the world such as wolves and thiefs, and fight against other players in the multiplayer mode.
Give life to Creatures
When you build something with a human shape, you can give life to it and it will start to move and animate.
Command it to follow you, guard your base or mine resources for you.
Depending on its shape and the type of block you used to build it, it will have different strengths and weaknesses.
In the Creative mode, it will be possible soon to teach them dialogs and give them a part in the quests you are writing.
Play with friends
Alchemist's Awakening comes with an online mode: you can connect to servers, share skins and buildings which you made for your friends, create your own server, and try different game modes that will be available online.
Creating a server is very easy, and you can add your own special blocks, creatures and machines to make it really unique. You can also invite up to 4 friends to your world.
