This isn't a big update, although we do have a big update in the works. EA 0.7.8 fixes some minor bugs, and has some QoL improvements - We've disabled the seasonal theme switching for the time being. It just seems to be causing issues and is slowing down new content dev. And it doesn't really add anything meaningful. The characters from Xmas and Halloween content are still playable. - Fixed some issues with some of the menus. They should be much more stable, when playing with gamepads or keyboards - Added gamepad rumble support and settings - Added settings to support having player 1 only on the keyboard and players 2-4 on gamepads - Optimised the block physics, so the game should be much more stable and consistent. If you do still experience framerate drops or buggy block physics, let us know so we can look into it - Other minor QoL improvements in the background

Achievements are live in v0.7.3!! As Blockpocalypse is in Early Access there is a chance they'll change over time, and probably be reset at full release. We've tried to make them achievable for everyone, but some do require playing in a party. Depending on feedback, these achievements may change or be removed. We'll have to see... We also added the Control Settings Menu, allowing you to customise controller settings like haptics rumble power, and whether player one is keyboard only or can use a gamepad. If more controller settings are required, they'll appear in this menu. There's also some recent tweaks to how the Aliens and Zombies function. Hopefully they aren't as brutal, and more fun to engage with. That's it for this update. Expect more soon, along with quality of life improvements as we near the end of Early Access

Versus Modes are back, across all apocalypses. That means 4 game modes for each of the 3 apocalypses. We're pretty happy to say that Arcade Mode is basically done and locked in. For anyone playing on gamepad controllers, you'll notice that haptic feedback (aka rumble) is now supported. It was very recently implemented, so expect some more refinements and improvements coming soon (for example, can already see the need for some user settings) Also coming soon... we've been promising it for a while, and it's on the horizon... achievements, to satisfy all you achievement hunters. However, as a local multiplayer game, expect a few achievements that will require more than one player. Lastly, it's that time of year when we have both Blockpocalypse and Lethal Lawns discounted for the summer sale (yay), so if you haven't already (or want to gift a copy) grab them for 50% off!! cheers, dime Studios

The Alien Infestation apocalypse is now playable through the Survival game mode. With the new apocalypse comes a new set of Alien Infestation themed playable characters. While in Early Access, they start unlocked by default.
The Alien versus modes are being worked on now, and we have decided to lock the Zombie versus modes while we redesign them to be more fun.
The loot stash menu has been disabled while we improve it, and emotes have been disabled while we rework them.
You may have noticed the online multiplayer beta has been disabled for some time now. Weve tested it against steam Remote Play, and the experience using Remote Play is so incredible and stable that it makes far more sense for everyone to play Blockpocalypse online using Remote Play.
Additionally, we have made a bunch of quality of life improvements, such as:
- reworked survival mode difficulty to be scalable based on the party size
- reworked zombie survival mode difficulty
- reworking our content pipeline
- reworking menus and user experience
- reworking rendering engine
- Zombie versus modes rework
- Alien versus modes
- Achievements
- Improved user settings

It's Halloween time again. Blockpocalypse EA0.6.1 is live, and with it a few small changes.
Firstly, Blockpocalypse will be in "Halloween" theme while the Halloween sale is on.
Second, we've upgraded some visual effects and in game display settings.
As always, there are some tweaks and bug fixes you probably wont notice, but they are doing hard work behind the scenes.
Finally, we've made the decision to halt and remove the Online Beta. Unfortunately, it just wasn't working out, and causing more problems than it was worth.
Thankfully, Steam Remote Play works really well, arguably better... so we're happy with that feature supporting you to play with your friends (even if they don't own the game themselves!!)
Stay safe

Patch 0.5.3 introduces a few quality of life updates, support for Remote Play, along with bringing back Seasonal Themes, such as Halloween and Christmas!!
Now, we know we've let the updates backslide over the year. Truth is we've had a lot going on behind the scenes, and Blockpocalypse hasn't done too great. We're still committed to finishing Early Access, and getting out the next Apocalypse, the Alien Infestation. And now we've got some time on our hands, Blockpocalypse is taking priority, because we want this game to be done as much as you do.
Cheers, and have a great Halloween steamhappy

Update 0.4.4
We’ve ben working on new content, but in the mean time we’ve got some quality of life updates for you.
We’re overhauling the menus, to improve stability and move towards full controller support. Additionally, the new update now supports Playstation Dualshock controllers, and will display the correct icons based on the active controller. There can be some weird behaviour when you have a mix of connected controller types.
0.4.4 also introduces AlienFX support. If you play Blockpocalypse on an Alienware system with keyboard and system lights, these lights will change color based on the apocalypse you’re playing. Its a very cool feature we’ve worked with Alienware and Dell to implement.

Happy Easter everyone!!
In the spirit of Easter, we've just pushed our Zombiepocalypse content live for testing and feedback. To select a Zombie apocalypse game mode, just push up or down on the Voting screens.
We've also got the Easter content in there for the weekend, and isn't it all lovely flowers and rainbows and pretty colours?
Lastly, we've come to the decision to remove Online Multiplayer for the time being. It's been a bit of a headache to work with, and hasn't worked 100% for some of our players. So, we're going to pull it out for now, focus on finishing the apocalypse and game mode content we'd originally planned, and then look at Online Multiplayer once there's more content in the game for players.
So to make up for it, because Blockpocalypse is a party game that you want to be able to switch on and play whenever you have friends over, we're making all of the characters and emotes available. How long this will be, we don't know, but any unlocks you made before or make from now on will be saved if we disable this "everything unlocked" feature in the future.
So enjoy the Easter update, give the Zombie modes a try, and share your feedback with us, so we can improve Zombie.

A cold chill is on the wind... Fire and Brimstone are nothing to the freezing Winter Wasteland...
The Blockpocalypse Christmas Update is LIVE, and will run for the festive season ONLY.
The update sees a complete winter theme, and 10 new characters join the Blockpocalypse cast, such as Jolly Nick, Caesar the Emperor Penguin, Colonel Cracker the Toy Soldier, Little Helper the Elf, and more!!
This update will just about wrap up our 2016 seasonal updates. We're continuing to work on new apocalypse themes and content, and should have some exciting things to show in the new year.
But for now, we hope you enjoy the update, and enjoy a very Happy Holidays

Flaming skulls rains down, bathed in green hellfire. Putrid lava rises to consume a web-covered city. And somewhere, a pair of creepy twins are tick or treating.
We’re excited to launch our Halloween update in time for your weekend parties!! The mean, green, halloween theme update introduces 10 new Halloween characters, gives Blockpocalypse a wicked look, and of course there’s a giant pumpkin that crashes into the earth.
Blockpocalypse will be exclusively halloween themed for the next week!!
This update, while being for Halloween, is also serving as a technical test for our update pipeline. We’ve used the opportunity to build some tools to help us get the themes together quickly, add characters and emotes, and lay the groundwork for future apocalypse updates.
We’re also testing the SteamOS + Linus builds, so if you have a Steam machine or Linux, we’d love to hear your feedback. It will be a little buggy as we track down the major differences in the platform and try to fix them, but for the most part it’s stable and working fine.

Today, October 6th 2016, Blockpocalypse, the ultimate 4 player party apocalypse, enters in Early Access.
Blockpocalypse began as the Global Gam Jam 2015 project, Ablockalypse, by our 3 man team at Dime Studios. After the game jam, it was immediately clear that there was something special about how the game guided the players to kind of work together but not really… It instantly struck our heartstrings as a game we could spend the next few years working on, so that’s what we did.
It’s already been an amazing journey, and after nearly 2 years of development, we’ve refined Blockpocalypse to the point that it’s time to get the community involved. Which is why we’ve launched into Early Access.
We see Early Access as the best opportunity for developers and players to collaborate together, and make a game truely great. Players are the end point for every game, and their feedback is more raw and valuable than decades of experience or a huge QA team. Player feedback is EVERYTHING.
We’re hopeful for the future of Blockpocalypse, and we’re forever grateful to our supporters, players, fellow developers, and everyone else who has been a part of Blockpocalypse in it’s journey to Early Access. We look forward to working with the Early Access to make Blockpocalypse the best game that it can be.
