We are aware that the Vengeance Mode at the moment is a bit too easy for most of you. To fix it, we have made tons of balance changes and fixed issues for the last couple of days. We don't want to make the recent changes live prematurely; hence, we have updated the game in the beta branch known as Vengeance Public test V.28947.

Asura Vengeance Patch: 28930 is now live!
We have fixed some of the major issues which were reported and also rebalanced some of the elements in Vengeance Mode. Please have a look at the patch log below for more info.
Patch Log:
- Fixed an issue wherein Vengeance mode wave would not continue.
- Fixed an issue wherein collision detection on Asura would skip and Asura would go off the level in Vengeance mode.
- Fixed an issue wherein range weapon projectiles would skip collision in levels.
- Fixed an issue with Anathema Shastra wherein fireballs after enemies death would remain active in the level.
- Fixed an issue wherein Shastras like Tejas would stop the animation of bosses when it got activated causing the game to freeze.
- Added Gold drops to Champion units in Vengeance Mode.
- Rebalanced the amount of Exp required to level-up in Vengeance Mode.
- Increased the Exp gain from Champion units.

We have received fantastic response for our latest expansion and are estatic that you are enjoying Asura with the new content and features.
As you might know, there are some issues especially with the new Vengeance Mode:
1.) Shastras ( skills) which trigger on boss wave sometimes freezes the boss animation making the game not progressable.
2.) Asura and projectiles in very rare occasions passes through the level walls.
3.) On finishing the Hero wave, the UI sometimes does not show up halting your progress.
There are other minor issues as well which we are fixing and we should have an update and fix for all the above by today end of the day!
As always, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused due to these errors and are addressing it as I type this. We are two person team and trying our best to make sure you have the best experience.

We are glad to announce the Vengeance Expansion for Asura. It is a free update for Asura that will introduce new features and content to the game.
Vengeance Mode:
Introducing an endless mode with a brand new level where in you resist the invading hordes of the Daeva empire. Eliminate as many waves of enemies as possible and compete on the leaderboard with your friends.
Chakra System:
A new persistent system where in defeating the bosses will unlock unique perks which can be equipped during battle.
Mahasura Difficulty:
A new difficulty mode for the hardcore who are looking for a challenge. In Mahasura Difficulty, any enemy, boss or champion can spawn regardless of the fortress. Oh yes! Your weapon will get destroyed when you get burnt.
Shamshan:
Save your Asura at Shamshan ( Crypt ) and show off the epic gears and ultimate skills you acquired during your invasion.
New Items:
New artifacts and drops items have been added to the roster and will drop to boost your stats while in combat.
New Rooms:
Sacrifice your blood in the goblet of Amrut for rewards or test your luck at the dice game called Passa. New rooms have been introduced to the procedural fortresses (levels) in the game.
Several other general improvements and the above features will be introduced with the update.

It is intended to explore the lore or backstory of the various bosses and champions of the Daeva Empire which you might have encountered in the game. Every week on Thursday, we will be releasing a lore. The style will be reminiscent of a book or a scroll. Each lore piece will contain a beautiful illustration.
This series is just a fun endeavor that we are undertaking on the side as a passion project while we are working on the content update. We will be talking more about the content update soon and would love you all to be a part of the development and design for the same.

Asura Patch Update 27907 is now LIVE!
Tez-Yatra:
We have implemented the much-requested Teleportation feature and are calling it Tez-Yatra which means Fast Travel. Asura can place the Teleporter anywhere in the fortress by pressing the F button ( re-bindable). Once the teleporter has been set, Asura can instantly teleport back to it by pressing the same button. Teleporter can't be set if when fighting enemies. If the teleporter has been placed in an undesired position, it can be destroyed by just pressing and holding down the Teleporter button.
The teleporter can be of great help reducing the backtracking drastically. However, you will need to place them strategically to make the most of it.
Salvage Items
Another new feature is the Salvaging of items. In the latest update, Asura can salvage items for 1 Sona. Any and all item can be salvaged included quiver, meat, weapons, armors, etc.
We added this feature because many times, tons of loot would get left behind for eg. quivers would be a complete waste if you are equipped with a magic weapon. Now at least you can Salvage and earn some extra Sona! :) We have also fixed some issues with UI and font. Please note that the controls would have been automatically set to default after this update. Apologies for the inconvenience. Since our last update, the two of us at Ogre Head has been working on a new spawn system for the Champion units in Asura. You all shared the feedback mentioning that you were finding it difficult to unlock the champions. This is admittedly our fault in the design because we left it entirely under the shroud of randomness. As a result, some players may never face certain Champion units due to unfavourable RNG.
Without spoiling much, we will try to explain how the new spawn system works.
We have divided the Champions and distributed them among the three difficulty modes. Champions will unlock as you beat the game in various difficulties. Once unlocked, the units are added to a list of champions. Until you have defeated a particular Champ, they will not randomize.
The above method makes it certain that you get the opportunity to face all the Champions in the game, unlocking them in the Aukaad as you defeat them.
If you have already beat some Champions, the above system will reset it and will make sure that you get to beat every Champion in the game. However, your Aukaad will remain the same.
Along with the above design changes, we have made some additional fixes. Check out the patch log below to learn more about it.

- Fixed an issue where in the Gold chest would respawn after saving & loading.
- Fixed an issue with some Mini-map icons after saving & loading.
- Fixed an issue wherein stun particle effect would appear on dead enemies.
- Fixed a problem with resurrection mechanic. If you entered an unexplored enemy room after resurrecting by dying in a Boss or Champion room, the enemy rooms would be empty.

- Redesigned the Item drop system. This is to fix an issue where in same items would drop hindering players from discovering new weapons and armours.
- Redesigned the Champion Spawn system to fix an issue where in players would face the same champions instead of the unlocked champions
- Added a new button to reset the camera when in manual rotation mode.
- Replaced the Experience Chest with 'Gamla Of Gyan' , It is a pot that grants additional experience on breaking it.
- Replaced the Gold Chest with 'Tijori' which contains a significant amount of gold.
- The Key rooms can spawn 'Gamla Of Gyaan' or Tijori in them and not just a chest.
Balance Changes:
- Reduced the enemy spawns of the small rooms in Asura (Hardcore) Difficulty.
- Reduced the key rooms in Asura (Hardcore) Difficulty.

Why Beta?
In this patch, we have made some significant changes to our systems in a hope to fix a lot of major issues like the invisible walls, black screen errors, etc. We don't want to break the actual game while fixing these and hence the current patch is in Beta.
When will the Beta end?
If everything goes as intended and if you all are having fun with the beta, then we will make it available to everyone on 16th May, Tuesday. Below is the list of changes available in the Beta.

Patch Log
- Added Control Scheme C which enables you to play the game only with the Keyboard.
- Changed the tech for the text in the Shastra Screen. Fonts are much more crisp and the description is much more informative. Shastra screen is much more optimized.
- Improved the text quality in HUD buttons.
- Made quality improvements of fonts for Status overlays, item drop, enemy death labels etc.
- Changed the Shastra Screen Camera from panning to Static to improve readibility and user experience.
- Fixed Jaal Leg armour (Immune to traps). It will now only provide immunity from spike and monkey traps.
- Fixed and reworked on some of the achievements and it's decription.
- Fixed navigation issues when using keyboard in Control Config screen.

After the recent introduction of the WASD control scheme, players got a bit confused and thought that new controls was only for Keyboard.
This is actually not what we intended. In order to clear out the confusion we have renamed the scheme and improved the UI in the latest patch
We are now calling the control scheme:
- Control Scheme A - Enables Keyboard to move and use shortcuts. Mouse to look-at, Attack and Switch weapon.
- Control Scheme B - Enables Mouse to move and attack, Keyboard for shortcuts.

- Changed the UI for Configuring Control Scheme for better user experience.
- Changed the names of the Control Scheme.
- Fixed binding issues with certain keys with regards to the new control scheme.

Regarding the WASD Controls
We think that people have been confused with the WASD controls. The WASD controls is intended to be played with Keyboard and Mouse where in you use keyboard to move and mouse to attack. This scheme does not allow you to play the game only with keyboard. We are working on a Keyboard only control scheme and will be updating it very soon.
Regarding the Win 10 and Xbox One Controller Issue:
We made some changes to the Xbox One controller settings and we hope it works with all Win 10 version. However, Xbox One controller works best in Win 10 with latest patch v.10.0.14393. There is a known bug with the Xbox One controller and Windows 10 with Unity 3D engine. Please try the below instructions and do let us know if it works fine.
- Open Device Manager
- Right Click "Xbox One Controller"
- Select Update Driver Software
- Browse on my PC
- Let me pick from a list
- "Microsoft Xbox One Controller"

IMPORTANT
Some players have notified us regarding the compatibility issue with Xbox one controller on Win 10. We have reduced the sensitivity of the D-pad in the hopes to resolve this issue. However, Xbox One controllers on Win 10 will work best with the latest update (V. 10.0.14393.0)

We just wanted to inform everybody that WASD update is taking a bit longer than expected. We were supposed to make it live today but we will need some more time.
Since we are allowing rebinding for every single key, there are some technical and design snag which we are ironing out at the moment. Also,you will be able to switch between two control schemes - Mouse Setup or the WASD Setup.
As promised, you will also be able to play the game with just the mouse if you have one with more than 3 keys to rebind the controls.
We are on it and the new control set-up should be live very soon.
Until then you can try the WASD Beta which you can opt-in using the below instructions:
- In your Steam library, right click on Asura and click on "Properties"
- Click on the BETA tab

There was an issue where in level 2 would not load in Asura Hardcore Mode due to an error in the room generation. We have fixed this issue.
We are working on the WASD controls and it should be up and running in our next major patch. We will put out a Beta for the same by Thurday Evening (IST) and then Launch the patch on Friday evening.

Asura Patch - 27497 is live!
Balance and New features:
- Weapon will not destroy any more, regardless of the difficulty. Only your armour will. Why? because we hear you!
- Changed the selection/highlight for enemies and color coded it. Purple for Magic enemies, Red for Melee enemies and Green for Range enemies.
- Increased the Parivartan cost to 15. No more can you break the game by earning unlimited gold using it in conjunction with Hadapan.
- Decreased the damage output of enemies in higher levels.
- Pride Achievement will only be disabled if you loose health. (Taking damage on shield does not cancel the progress for this achievement) Increased the Arrow capacity of the following Asuras:
- The Rakshas of Yodha: 40 arrow capacity
- The Rakshas of Chalak: 80 Arrow Capacity
Fixes:
- Fixed the black screen issue which occurred after the last update, due to swapping left click and right click buttons.
- Fixed hitbox issues with traps. Now they will actually KILL you if you are not careful!
- Fixed an issue where in the Daeva Chakravyu/Deadly Rollers in level 5 would sink in the ground.
- Fixed an issue where in enemies would run off the room in Level 5.
- Fixed an issue where in projectiles would penetrate through walls.
- Fixed some of the issues with the wall colliders in the rooms.
- Fixed the Aukaad screen where in bosses death stat would not register properly even after killing all of them.
- Fixed localization issues with chinese.
- Fixed a shader issue which would cause the portals in level 5 to appear even during the death screen.
- Fixed an issue with camera angle which would cause the camera to not revert back to it's original position once bosses have been killed. (Camera rotation turned off)

Hello, This is to inform you that we are aware of an issue which occurs in Patch 27440 when you swap Left Mouse button and Right Mouse Button in the keyboard and mouse options under the settings. The game will not load the next time when you boot it. We have already fixed this issue and will be patching very soon. Until then, In order to fix this issue, Please follow the below guidlines: 1.) In your Steam library, right click on Asura and click on "Properties" 2.) Click on the BETA tab 3.) Change the drop down to "WASD". 4.) Open the game in WASD version , select your profile and then quit the game. 5.) Now load the default version of the game and it should have been fixed. We want you to just focus on the core combat and not any other features when playing with WASD controls.
Play as much as you like and let us know your thoughts, feedback and suggestions regarding the new controls.
If it is OK, we will polish the controls, make sure that each and every key is bindable and then release it for the world to enjoy.

- Disabled 'Auto Lock-On' on Bonfire.
- You can now destroy Bonfire with just one strike from any range weapon for loot.
- When you collide with the bonfire, it will get destroyed.
- Fixed the hit box of Asura, Asura projectiles, and enemy projectiles.
- Fixed tons of textual errors in the Shastra Tree. It should now communicate the functionality of spells much more accurately.
- Fixed an issue where Lacheela would not block range attacks like Glaives or Bola.
- Added a text description tab for each difficulty stating it's challenges.

- Fixed an issue where in Asura would get stuck when casting spells.
- Implemented percentile stats for Move speed.

With this update, we are hoping that the colliding issues with traps and projectiles will be much more accurate. Melee and range attacks won't automatically aim Bonfire. Enemy range attacks and even your attacks when colliding will have a better feel to it.
Dev-Tip: If possible, always destroy the bonfire in the room. It might have goodies and you will not have to worry about colliding it again.
The next update is exciting as we are planning to add a new feature in! We are targetting to have it up by Friday night so that you can turn into a Demon and invade the fortress for the rest of the weekend! :)

It has been wonderful to see many of you play and share your feedback for Asura.
We have updated the game with the latest patch ID 27289.
Patch notes:
- Removed auto-lock on breakables when in combat.
- Changed the requirements for unlocking Asura characters. You don't need to select the upgrades anymore.
- Decreased the hit box size of the bonfire/torch.
- Decreased the cost of Matka and Jaddi Butti in Dukaan.
- Increased the amount of Matka and Jaddi Butti in Dukaan.
- Shaitan (easy) difficulty will not burn your weapons anymore.
- Removed the stun passive for hero units. We are working on this feature and will reintroduce it later with a proper fix and balance.
- Fixed an issue where in a lag would occur when accessing inventory via the pause menu.
- Reduced the left analog stick sensitivity by 50%. We will be adding a slider to customize the sensitivity in the next update.
- Fixed some of the grammatical mistakes.
- Fixed the text blurring issues on some UI elements.

We have been busy working on the game, making sure that we are doing our best to make it as epic as possible. In the meantime, we would like to announce that the Beta for Asura has now come to an end.
We got a wonderful response from folks all over the world in fact we had about 1000+ people signing up for the demo. It was great to see everyone sharing their feedback and reaching out to us with suggestions.
Asura is on the final stretch and as soon as we get closer to the release, we will have a Demo for the game with more contents then what we initially had in the Beta. The beta was intended to be more like a focus testing/QA, where we were hunting for hardware and other compatibility issues which could be encountered while playing the game. We are just two people at Ogre Head and the game we are developing is for PC platform. We don't know the kind of bugs or glitches which can pop-up due to an insanely high amount of Hardware types and models which the players are now using to enjoy their games. Our goal is to make sure that everyone who purchases Asura at least does not face any performance issue and it plays smoothly. We are completely aware that making it fool proof is impossible but we try our best anyways! :)

We just flew back from Taipei Game Show 2017 and it was an amazing experience. We never expected so many passionate people to turn out for the event. The game was well recieved in the show and we are gearing towards release. That being said there are no major feature implementation for the update this time around.

- Fixed an issue where Asura would be equipped with a mace but in the HUD, the icon would be that of a fist.
- Introduced new enemies in Level 1.
- Increased the health of enemies and bosses.
- Added Ultra Wide screen support. It is still a work in progress. Please do report to us if you encounter any problems when playing with this setting.

This week has been super busy with us preparing for Asura showcase at Taipei Game Show 2017 however it has not hindered the progress in development and fixes of the game itself. In-fact, we have fixed a ton of issues and added some new minor features. One of the most exciting element we added is the Asura Voice over in the game. This is just the first pass but you can check it out via the demo. Also, made some significant changes to how the some of the weapons like magic, spear etc would work. The speed of their projectiles has been increased so that the combat feels much more fast paced. Also, we have worked tons of UI stuff which were pending for quite some time.

- Polished the Result, Victorious, Death screens.
- Optimized the volume for BGM with default settings.
- Implemented restart in pause menu so that you can be utlra competitive! :D
- Added support for SpeedLink & Intex controller.
- Added tons of new options in the gameplay settings. Tweak it to your hearts content!
- Removed restriction of interacting with items when near a corpse.
- Fixed an issue with Asura footsteps during the bleeding state.
- Added the current difficulty text in the pause screen.
- Gradient highlight will now fade in and out depending on the distance.
- Optimized the auto-aim priority between enemies and breakables.
- Attack delays has been optimized resulting in a faster paced combat when using heavy stamina based weapons.
- Increased the projectile speed of Boomerang, Magic and Spear Weapon. Swoooosh!
- Asura now speaks (this is just the first pass, more on this coming soon)! :D Tweaked the scoring mechanic. TOP SECRET STUFF!
- Asura can now drop consumables from the stash via the HUD.
Hello fellow demons!
For this week's update, one of the important things we were trying to figure out was how to improve our tutorial. Since you all had mentioned that the it was not fun, we spent some time play-testing about it then utlimately realised that it had to go.
Now, we have replaced it with a new system which is much more straight forward. What we have implemented is something akin to how Dark souls approaches it's tutorial. Basically, there will be symbols which will inscribed on the corridor floors and walking over it will reveal pop-ups which will contain 'HINTS' on how to play the game. These pop-ups won't hinder player movement and you are able to freely pass through it.
It seems to work for us but ultimately it's you folks who have to let us know whether it is good or not. One of the disadvantages of this new system is that since our level is randomly generated, sometimes, they dont appear in a pattern we intended. Neeraj has tried to use his arcane abilities so that everything works great but let's wait and see how it rolls!
Another exciting aspect we are looking forward to is the introduction of the leaderboard for the demo. We have even hosted a weekly torunament from this update onwards. We are calling it 'ULTIMATE DEMON KING' or 'UDK'. More rules can be found in our discord channel here > Join Ogre Head Discord Channel
We have also went ahead and polished tons of stuff as well as fixed many issues. We are now working on the UI transitions which is still very much a work in progress.

- Removed the old tutorial which you all deemed as boring! Do you have any idea how long it took us to make that boring thing. ONE MONTH! :(
- Removed blacksmith in level 1 because we want to make the game unbeatable.
- Added Steam Leader-boards for the demo. Play, Compete, become the Ultimate Demon King!
- Changed the end screen flow for the demo.
- Added 'Hints' as a replacement to tutorial.
- Added in-game timer and score.
- Polished some of the UI transitions.

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone!
Second, we have a new update for Asura mainly fixing tons of issues and bugs. We added some new elements for ex some new animals in the roster of doodads for different levels. Also, added some new breakables so that you can smash them to your hearts content. The game is almost feature complete and we are mostly focusing on fixing issues and making sure everything works fine. As of now, there are still tons of lingering issues which needs to tracked and fixed and for that we will definetly your help.
The folks who have been playing the Beta have been super helpful giving us feedback as well as notifying the issues. For that we are grateful and a big THANK YOU! :)

Due to most of the work at this point revolving around the game a.k.a making trailers, marketing content and other additional resources, the update does not have any major content additions but yup, we have fixed a ton of issues. There is however this one very ugly issue which has crept up ever since we started sending out the demo. It is the one where upon picking up a meat, it will reflect as 2 meat in the inventory slot where in you won't be able to eat the other one. Well, as I was writing this, Neeraj reproduced it and now we understand the issue. If you press 'A' in controller or Keyboard while picking up the meat, this bug occurs. So for now please be careful as we will patch the issue in the next update.

We have made some minor as well as drastic changes to the game last week.
For instance, there is no health bar any more but instead 'Heart Containers'. If you have been following Asura, you might have played a build long time which had hearts but then we changed it because the health of the player was going way more than what we could show in UI as hearts. But now it's back and we think it's going to stay this way. You might be wondering why the change after all this but we think Hearts represents health and progression better in a game like Asura. To truly understand the nature of the changes, you will have to check out the latest demo!
We have also polished some of the main menu and in-game UI elements in the game and we will be working on it more as we head close to release.

- Added options in the game-play setting to turn on or off dynamic camera rotation.
- Fixed an issue where the look at position of Asura when rotating with a mouse would offset from the actual attack orientation.
