Avast! This latest patch has various changes that include: Hitbox fix for the rock archway. New translations on the main menu; not all text has been changed yet. Better key rebinding on the options menu. Controller support on the main menu. Smarter anti-cheat for ship movement that is more flexible on unstable network connections. Avast! Here are a couple minor fixes and tweaks following this week's earlier update. Voice Over effects now play significantly less frequently. Added several hover, selected, and disabled visual effects on the main menu. Top tier chests are now purchasable. Updated Store prices; now 500/2000/8000 for chests and 50,000 gold for ships. Ship sail emblems now properly work in game. Fixed the start timer for the volcano effect. Bots now have a lower arc of fire behind them. Bots deal less damage: 25->20 per cannon ball. Ahoy! We got a lot of out of match experience stuff together in this build! We've finished up our new main menu flow to allow navigation between the lobby, customization, and store to be more seemless. The goal is while you're waiting on a match to start you can still get the full customization experience from within the collection menu. We'll still be adding in some breadcrumbs and polish but this build brings us a step closer to where we want to be.
Earning Gold & Unlocking Chests
Note that we will be doing several player data wipes before launch. Everyone starts with 5000 gold, which will provide a head start of flags to play with. You can earn gold and XP from 10 custom games every day. Wood chests contain 3 common flags with a 10% chance of 1 being rare. Gold chest contain 5 flags, with 2 being rare and a 10% chance of 1 being epic. Epic chests contain 7 flags; 5 rare, 2 epic and a 10% chance of 1 being legendary.

Ahoy! We got a bunch of stuff in this recent build geared towards improving pixel fillrate issues that were causing slow framerates on low-end PCs.
Performance Improvements
- Optimized LOD1 and LOD2 islands.
- Redid trees to remove cutout shader.
- Smaller texture sizes more texture atlases.
- Islands have fewer draw calls to the GPU.
- Simpler terrain shader for LOD1 and 2 islands.
Logo Animation and Out of Match experience
We now have our opening logo animated and in the works of integrating more of our new menus! We've been making headway on our servers and will have the progression system live in about 2 weeks!

Ahoy! Unearned Bounty was recently selected to showcase at the Xbox Lobby at GDC! We've been porting this past week, so just a couple smaller bug fixes, performance improvements, and tweaks in this week's update.
Bot improvements
- Gold! Will now prioritize picking up shipwrecks.
- Bots are no longer fully upgraded at the start of a match, and will spend gold to upgrade.
- Shotgun blast: Cannon ball damage lowered to 25, fire 5/6/7 shots that have a much wider spread.
- Ramming Speed: at low health bots will now try to ram into nearby opponents.
Tweaks
- Easier to pass through rocky island area north of the volcano.
- Moved a spawn point a little further away from port to prevent bots from running ashore.
- All flags are unlocked again
- Minor performance improvements.
- Game Icon & Logo updated.

We've been listening to feedback that you've been providing during the playtesting, one of the biggest changes in this update is a rework on ship to ship collisions with Hull Upgrades & Iron Horn's ability no longer mitigating damage; this should make collisions when at low health more predictable in your ability to take the other ship with you.
Balance Changes
- Hulls no longer give ramming mitigation
- Iron Horn's ram ability no longer mitigates damage; deals 100/200/300 additional impact damage
- Iron Horn's passive is now the only ramming mitigation; still at 5/10/15
- NPC ship base ramming [strike]100[/strike] -> 150; bonus impact [strike]200[/strike] -> 100
- Flamethrower damage reduced by ~10%
- Shipwreck heal amount increased to 75

Spitting Dragon
- New passive: "Flaming" Cannonballs & Flamethrower add a damage over time fire onto the afflicted ship dealing 5/15/25 damage over 2.5 seconds that scales off Ability level. At lvl 1 Ability and lvl 0 cannons will kill an NPC ship in 2 volleys.
- Fixed a bug where Flamethrower damage was inconsistent; will be buffing damage in upcoming build.
General Tweaks
- Unity 5.5 Ready : Added GPU Instancing on the Water, should improve performance sigificantly on Unity release.
- Added Bloom & HDR effect for Ghastly Crow & Spitting Dragon lights & emissions. (Bug affecting particle effects will be removed shortly)
New Level
- 5 of 17 islands are now completed and integrated in!

Ship Passives
- The Brigand now has a 5 gold gain on cannon ball hit
- After using the Flamethrower on the spitting dragon (10 gold use) the next time you fire a cannon they deal an additional 20% damage (+7 per shot).

Iron Horns tweaks
- Iron Horns ram speed increased 65/75/85 -> 80/93/105
- Iron Horns sails now break apart during damage properly

- Spitting Dragon no longer fires when dead
- Spitting Dragon hull paint properly applies on Cannons lvl 1 and 2.
- Fire now blows up barrels
General Stability
- Other ships are no longer transparent when using Aim down sights or T; only your own.
- Fixed bad lobby interaction that was causing host issues.

The Spitting Dragon
We've designed this ship for close range combat & farming NPCs, use Space Bar to switch between your Cannons & Flame Thower. Once selected use your Mouse to aim and shoot. There is a small gold cost per second to use as well as a switch time between weapons.
New Lobby UI
We'll be making further improvements, but enjoy a cleaner & more functional lobby system!
Other Fixes / Changes
- Increased resolution selection scrolling speed
- Can now rebind the zoom-in and zoom out keys
- Ships are now easier to see in customization screen
- Updated Customization screen ship selection / flag selection title graphics

Gold Drop Changes
- Players no longer drop gold based on the worth of their ship : 25% -> 0%
- Player gold from infamy is now doubled : 2 * Infamy / Rank + 100
- NPC gold drop: 120 + 10/min -> 150 + 7/min

- Barrel Bomb Cooldown: 18.75 -> 22.25 / 18.75 / 15 seconds
- Iron Horns Passive: 5/10/15% Ram Damage Mitigation.
- Ram Ability Damage Mitigation: 35/40/45 -> 10/35/60% Ram Damage Mitigation. (for a total of 15/45/75% with passive)
- Ram Ability Speed now scales off Ability level instead of Sail level.
- Ram Ability Cooldown: 160/120/80 -> 180/120/80 seconds
- Ram Ability SFX now in.
- Fixed Changing graphics settings while in match.
- All ships hitting with the front of the ship damage: 200 -> 250
- "T" Key now toggles transparency on the ship, similar to Q&E aim down sights

Hey everyone! We've been working on an overhaul of the Menu UI as well as the addition of the Spitting Dragon, which should make its appearance next week! We have a bunch of changes that are in today's build as we work on getting everything integrated in, enjoy! Barrel Bomb Buffs The other week we made some drastic nerfs to the Barrel Bomb, we're bringing it closer to what it origionally was at.
- Barrel Bomb Cooldown: 22.5 -> 18.75 seconds
- Barrel Bomb % Max HP Damage: 5/10/15 -> 7.5/12.5/17.5%
- Ram now has a cool particle animation effect
- Iron Horns eyes now glow with the ships tertiary color, making it pop more.
- Ram impact damage mitigation: 35/45/55% -> 35/40/45%
- Ram cooldown: 120 seconds -> 160/120/80 seconds.
- Death reduces an active cooldown by 60 seconds.
- Upgrading Ability reduces an active cooldown by 40 seconds.
- Flags with varients now are collapsed
- Achievement flags now have their own folder
- Folders now use custom icons
- New Country Flag folder icon (Achievement and Custom coming soon)
