Hello everyone!
We are thrilled to announce a new update for Orange Season v1.0.2 on Steam! This update brings several exciting improvements, including enhanced map features, improved user interface, correction to certain fonts and better collision detection among others: Additionally, due to a significant error, our developers have included an important note attached to this update.
About the current Save Data Loss issue:
Hello dear Players, some of you are having a save data loss bug that after opening your game and opening the load screen, no save slot appears to be loaded. We are very sorry that this is happening. The data is being lost for an unknown reason that we yet couldnt replicate in our internal tests. So, this new patch (v1.0.2) adds a simple backup system that backups your save data every time you open your game. The idea behind this is to when you face the issue of save loss, you can contact a developer in Discord to share your backup file, so we can have testing with actual data before the issue occurred. We appreciate your collaboration, and we are striving to fix this issue as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support and happy farming!
Check out the Patch Note below for more details.

Hello everyone! We just got back to our normal schedule after being at BIG Festival last week! It was really special to connect with everyone that played Orange Season, truly something out of this world! We are working hard to continue doing our best to bring Orange Season to you, building Orange Town to be a place where you can live and make meaningful relationships with the inhabitants.
We hope to meet everyone again at future opportunities! And a big thanks to everyone that gave their permission to be photographed and to SOEDESCO to give this opportunity to Orange Season. Here are some of the photos from the event:
However, this announcement is not only about BIG Festival! Today we are also showing the last romanceable characters that you will be able to smooch! Let me introduce Annie and Raphael, people firmly rooted in the supernatural aspects of Orange Town.
Today we are back on showing you the romanceable characters in Orange Season! Last time you met Benjamin, Stella, Lucas and Devin (and if you did not meet them, you can check our previous announcement here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/416000/announcements/detail/3194751677700069676) Now, unto the next batch of bachelors and bachelorettes! Please, be advised that everything shown here is a work in progress and can be changed during development.
Hey everyone! Orange Season has a set of characters that you, the player, will be able to romance. Today we are showing four characters that we have been flashing out to be a suitable partner for your player character. You will see them mature over the course of the game, helping them with their problems and being witness to their newfound assurance of themselves. Please, be advised that everything shown here is a work in progress and can be changed during development.
Hi everyone! We've just pushed another patch! We'd been getting more and more reports of crashes and other stuff as well, so we figured we'd push an update for the game to fix that, while we're of course still working on the Unity version of the game that we're talking about in our monthly update posts. Check out the full patch notes here:
Hey everyone!
We are back again to show how the new forest area is coming up! Today we are showing snippets of the lives of the villagers that make the woods their home.
Of course, make sure you read the previous monthly dev update posts as well! After last post there was a bit of confusion, as some players thought all these things are live NOW in the game. What's happening now is that the game is essentially being rebuilt in the Unity Engine instead of the current RPG Maker engine which opens up a lot of possibilities for the future of the game! Read more about it in the first devlog: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/416000/view/3121552948617618656 Please be aware that everything shown here is a work in progress and can change during development ;)
So! Benjamins farm is now situated at the border of the woods and the city. The last house before natures abode. Here you can find him toiling away on the fields to surpass his sister Brittany farm, but our cowboy only managed to be stuck in second place forever.
However this might change. Brittany may be on a collision course with her life.
Benjamin may have an important part to play in a land dispute taking over at his sisters farm.
Our cowboy may be the number two farmer in the city, but to his animals he is the most valuable farmer. Benjamin takes pride in taking good care of his animals, giving them a comfortable life on the edge of the world where Orange Town is. Benjamins horses can go to country capital in one gallop and be back in another.
A feat that will be put to test!
Drama will bloom in the next harvest at Benjamins farm, but this is not everything for the new Forest map!
Gazing over the trees, one may find a spot unlike any other. A spot where the trees dictate the law of the land, where the unreal takes shape. Amidst the new map, lies the entrance to the new Enchanted Forest, where magic makes its home.
Few in Orange Town dare to explore it, but carpenter Raphael has been seen running in the area on Thursday to Friday nights for unknown reasons
To finish this log, we also would like to give you a preview of Jonas Zaggos new music for Orange Season! This time, it is the day theme for Winter:
[previewyoutube=6pM9ul2jMEE;full][/previewyoutube]
That's it for this time, I hope to welcome you to another dev log next month! Of course let me know what you think :)
-Marten, Rafael & Kazz
Hey everyone! Another dev update and YES, I know. We're a tad late. This is supposed to be the February update, but please bear with us :D. Today we'd like to share some new stuff surrounding Amanda and Benjamin, the updated forest area that's underwent a lot of changes and of course another piece of brand new OST composed by Jonas Zaggo.
Hey everyone!
Another month has passed, a new year has started. Let's talk about what the team has been up to for Orange Season! Make sure to check out last month's dev update if you haven't already, some good stuff in there: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/416000/view/3121552948617618656
This time we'll talk about some brand new stuff that's been in the works. As we talked about last time, the game is currently being rebuilt in the Unity Engine which opens up opportunities. One of these is the way maps could be structured.
Map designs - New Mines
The previous engine limited the map structures to being square and having square borders. That's why currently, most maps in Orange Season are big squares with paths. The most prominent example of this are the mines. They're big, squared boxes fliled with clay and rocks, at all levels, from the surface to the bottom. Thankfully, level design can now be made in a more 'free' manner, like these brand new designs show!
Story improvements
This month there's been 30+ story arc drafts made. They include events and tasks for both the main story and characters you can interact even have relationships with. Check out these dialog examples:
The town aint big enough for both of these farmers. Billy promises farm-warfare to regain his position in the eyes of Orange Town.
Any day is the best day to fight the forces of destruction, specially if Pilot Lucas and Pilot Richard are using their mechas to save humanity and orangekind!
Phi always says that skirts are a sign of intelligence and wisdom. Devin needs to really think if he wants to impress whoever is going to receive his present!
Some families sit together to watch TV while others feud over fertile lands. Stellas Family may be reaching a point of no return if her feud with her grandfather Rory is not resolved.
We also have new concept art for the new intro, that shows you the journey to Orange Town:
Summer Festival
In the last dev update, we shared some swimming characters. This was for the new Summer Festival! Check out how far it's come (also, peep the new music in this preview) [previewyoutube=yjKj8pXwK8c;full][/previewyoutube]
New OST in the works
Orange Season's composer, Jonas Zaggo, has been working hard to create new tracks that we believe deepen the game experience. We have a very little sneak peek of the new Spring Theme, one of the first tracks you'll hear in the updated version: [previewyoutube=4b1WLdE2qco;full][/previewyoutube]
That's the update for now! We're progressing to a better, more stable new version of the game. At this moment we do not have an estimate for when this goes live, but of course this will be the first place to hear about it, along with the Discord server (https://discord.gg/DtykZfFTGn or https://discord.gg/soedesco).
-Marten, Rafael & Kazz
Hello everyone,
So... It's been a while! The last big game update (v0.6.2) was back in August of 2020. In the meantime we haven't been sitting still, but what is going on?
Behind the scenes a lot has happened in terms of the team. The project's original lead developer who you might know as 'Hudell' on the Steam Community Hub and the Orange Season Discord server is no longer affiliated with Fantasy Farming: Orange Season. No, nothing happened. He's just off to do other things! Thank you for everything, Hudell!
The team that was working on Fantasy Farming: Orange Season under Hudell is still there, and a veteran from the team has taken over the lead role. Introducing: Rafael & Kazz! Them and I will be the main points of contact both here and on Fantasy Farming: Orange Season social media/Discord.
In the meantime, a lot has happened on the development side behind the scenes, check this out!
When summer comes, some villagers like to test their skills in the water
Updated day/night cycle
The mines are getting expanded. New maps and system are in the oven
BUT, what about game updates? With this change in management, another decision came. Fantasy Farming: Orange Season was built on an engine that does not fit with our plans for the title. This is why we decided to start a porting process to the Unity engine. We expect this process to be done around May of 2022 and it'll come as a free update right here in Early Access on Steam. This also means that in the meantime, we will unfortunately not have any game updates for you in the meantime.
However, what will we have? From now on every month, we will post development updates to show you what kinds of new stuff we're adding to the game, that will become available once the Unity version of the game launches once we're ready!
If you have any concerns, please let us know through the Steam Community Hub! We'll see you in the next development update ;)
-Marten, Rafael & Kazz
Hey all! Another patch just went live, which means we are at v0.6.2! This patch introduces new villagers, a new fishing system, sheep and animal petting! Check out the full patch notes here:
Hi everyone! As we've gotten quite a lot of new players with the Steam Summer Sale, I just wanted to let you know that we're still very much looking for feedback on the game! Any feedback we could work with is interesting to us, so if you have any, feel free to leave it as a Steam Community Hub post, or join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/soedesco to let us know! Stay tuned for our next update post! -Marten
Hello everyone! You may have noticed the game had many tiny updates during the week. Those updates were fixing some bugs that you reported since the release of the 0.6.1 version. Here's a list of them:

Hello everyone! Orange Season update 0.6 is out now!
This update brings a lot of bug fixes and general improvements to the game, but more importantly it finally includes the option to date villagers.
If you want a list of requirements for dating each villager, there's one right here!
I'll keep this announcement short this time so you can go ahead and spend some quality time with your favorite Orange Town residents, but you can check the in-game changelog for detailed information!
Hello everyone! Today I bring you a new update, version 0.5.1. Here's what's new:
Buckle up everyone, as Orange Season v0.5 is finally here!
The changelog this time is much larger than usual, so I'll try to keep things short. Feel free to reach out if you want to know more about any change.
It's been nearly nine months since I released version 0.4 of the game. Version 0.5 was supposed to come only three months after that, but many things delayed it's arrival. It is finally going to be released on June 24th, with a lot more than I had initially planned.
The first big thing I started working on after the september release was an overhaul on the mouse controls. It was a popular complaint among players that those controls were too complicated. That happened because when I first started it, I wanted the game to have the same controls as the PSX Harvest Moon game. Mouse and Keyboard controls were only emulating a controller instead of being used directly in the game. That changed now.
The next change was one of the most requested features: a map. Yes, it's finally here! There are three maps available on the game now: the town, the mountains and the forests. You can see by the image above that the villagers will also be tracked in real time on it, simplifying the job of all stalkers.
While I added the map and changed the mouse controls, Ryan was busy drawing new menus for the game: title screen, inventory, calendar, shops, storage, trash cans... every user interface has been replaced with something much better. For example:
Other than all the visual changes, there is a lot of new content on the game: new tasks, hundreds of new conversations with villagers, new items to be found on the caves and machines. You can buy any of the machines by talking to the blacksmith, but they require rare materials and a decent amount of money. The machines that are already available are:
- Mayo Maker
- Cheese Maker
- Bird Feed Maker
- Hay Maker
- Seed Maker
If you have already played the game before this update and befriends Annie, you'll get an alert when you load your save file, saying that the teleporter was removed from your inventory. To acquire it again, you'll need to increase your friendship with Annie and complete a few tasks. Nothing too complicated.
Those were just a few spoilers about what's coming on this next update. There's still a lot more. Stay tuned.
Hello, everyone! Today I'm releasing Orange Season version 0.4, which changes a lot of things on the game: The most important thing is that Rock Town and Orange Town were merged into one, with every Rock Town villager moving into Orange Town. While my initial idea was for the game to have three towns (Orange, Rock and Pudding), as I watched different people play the game I decided it was better to have everyone closer to the farm. With the merge, Orange Town was redesigned to accommodate everyone. I also changed it so the whole town is loaded as a single area, to hopefully prevent people from getting lost on it (the map is still coming). Festivals are held on a special area on the north side of town, while your farm is now to the south (and bigger than before). The mountains and forests are on the same place as they were before, while the beach was temporarily removed. The mountains and forests were also redesigned and are loaded as a single area now. Additional new forest areas were created to hold the special seasonal fields (all four of them are on the other side of the forest now, accessible only after the first fall season). Those new huge areas may require a little more CPU power to run smoothly, so I took some time to make a lot of performance improvements to balance things out. I also added a new setting that will let you change the game to run at 30, 40 or 48fps if needed. The art style was also improved, with changes to the grass, land and snow that reflect the changes made to the trees on a smaller update a few months earlier. The fishing system and the way that the fish spawn was also changed. From now on, you'll see new fish shadows showing up and also disappearing as you walk by. If you use your fishing rod, they'll no longer swim towards your bait, so you need to throw it on their path. Bridges are usually the most effective places for fishing. I've added many new conversations and cutscenes. I also changed some of the existing ones. From now on you'll start the game with a dog instead of getting one from Mia. Due to some recent issues with the wild animals, this update will move all of them back to their original position. If you have already tamed any wild animal, you will need to pick them up again if you want them on your farm. The friendship level will not be lost. Other than that, I've also balanced some item prices, changed spawn rates and fixed lots of bugs that had been reported. If you haven't played in a while, there are also some more changes that were done on smaller updates that I didn't write any announcement for. Those changes include the possibility of crops dying, new hair and skin colors for your character, new types of fish and items, new options on the storage screen, new caves, new jewelry, a brand new database screen, the ability to jump over fences and a lot more. You can check the in-game changelog for a full list of changes. Even though this update was huge, it is still not everything that I wanted to have ready for this version, so I'll be releasing a 4.1 update in a couple weeks to make up for it. One last thing: yesterday the game completed 4 years in production. It's a very long time, a lot more than I expected it would take to finish the game, but things have been moving faster now, as I'm no longer working alone. While I'm still calling the shots on everything, I've three people helping me with the game now. They are:
