MechDefender - Released!

Time has come - for MechDefender to be released.
It took a while to get here.

This is one of the most colorful projects for me. While it is a good, solid hero tower defense game. Development of it went in a couple of dark places.

This is a 5th part of the "Red Storm" games verse.
First one - "Red Storm" was a room crawler, with a story dedicated to finding Lenin AI. We made it with a few friends from my Uni, back in 2009.
Then there was a sequel in 2010. Then I decided, since I have this robots, why not add zombies and make a tower defense game? So "Zombies vs Robots" was born(2011). Then, ofc, there was a sequel in 2012. Those all - flash-games era.

After that, when Steam announced Greenlight - I decided it is a good idea to release the next chapter of "Red Storm" on Steam. "MechDefender" was born that day.

That the reason why you can find "pieces" of MechDefender all over the internet - all those flash-games before.

Helping me - was one of my early students. He was not a real student, 20+ something. Just a fellow struggling coder who needed help to get into game development. So I helped him with that. He was working on porting MechDefender, and at the same time, he was working on his game, in secret. Within some time, he released his game, and gave up "MechDefender". Things happen =( After some time I picked up it, and finished development on my own.

Like a problem with production was not enough so at some point one French guy decided to sell 1500 keys to some Spanish guy for 80$.
I was like - "I'm not interested in that". So they both keep a grudge. They decided to fight me in www - spreading rumors and rallying angry ppl on forums and youtube, how they were scammed by a developer. (but actually they were the one who was abusing Steam Cards and trying to scam me).

So, at some point that French guy swapped MD keys with some other game - where a developer was ok to sold keys for few cents. But, since this is the internet - some SJWs keep writing to me even after. One good Russian read all this and sent me 80$. I spent it to expand my studies operation.
(sorry for using country tags - I found it is easier to use them to distinct ppl in that mess)


Even this is a project that was developed with my students - and this is a maximum sale week for this game. I set 30% for this one couple of years ago. And I can not change that atm.

Royal Booty Quest - Release Date

Hey guys,
I have set the goal of releasing RBQ in October.
Now we working on an extra Hero with own deck.
For Release date - all features will be finished, two new heroes will be added - so it will be 8 in total.

Coop and Forge for items - are still in development, and they are probably not gonna be ready for those dates.

Also, there a couple more heroes who were frozen in the early stages of the development - I'll work on them after Release.

Expect new updates, new content, new heroes, new enemies!

Most demanded fix for Shiva pets is here. Random pets were messing up game data. Not anymore. Also added few fixes to Coop mode.
And, thx Dungeon Master Dealmi, we now have some texts for events.

All heroes are now locked by default, as used to be. But to unlock them - you need a Diamond. You will get a +1 diamond after leveling any hero to level 3.
If you already have a few saves for a hero that is locked - it will stay, all ok. You will get an option to continue as soon as you will unlock the hero.

Once they will be added - I was thinking about releasing game from EA.

Hello guys,
Here is a new point for your maps: Forge.
It provides 3 options: Destroying current card, Merging current cards, and Duplicate card from the global stash of cards.
Any card that you would create - will be available for you and other adventures to be replicated.



There is a new language - Polish. Plz take a look - there are should be few errors - since it is the first revision. Thx!

Also, last time, I accidentally left open options for Coop and Goblin Slayer - my bad. I'm removing them for now - Coop is almost finished - should be live within next few weeks.
Goblin Slayer is moved to be a standalone project, and maybe soon some preview will be available.

Happened a lot. Blood Hero now more stable. New mechanics are kicking in. BF now heals every turn AND at end of the battle. New combos after act4.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!

Hey guys, thx for playing my games.

This year was quite fun: a couple of my games made to EA - "Royal Booty Quest" and "Royal Merchant".
Other projects are close to it.

My nearest plans: Royal Heroes DLC - probably something with Goblins or Amazons. I have art and game design. I just need to find time to build&test it.
The biggest problem used to be SDK - it had no proper way to handle Steam DLCs. But that has been resolved today. So I do not have any more excuses to withhold a DLC.
Another new feature for RH is an item quality - rare, common, epic, etc. I already tested it in Royal Merchant - it looks and works great.

'Royal Merchant' will have more features and content.

RBQ - New Heroes, New Enemies, New Timelines - along with fixes and QoL stuff. Also controller support in testing now.

'Royal Offense' - I can add a few more heroes and battles and maybe a building. If you d like that - just let me know.

'ConflictCraft' - is going to have a sequel. Everything is prepared - looking for a new level designer.

'Millennium Conflict' - will be released in 2019. It represents next chapter in ControlCraft series.


Another change will be the pricing. I'm going to increase prices for most of my games on Steam. Including Royal Booty Quest. It's important for RBQ. As I've learned it recently =)
Since Steam can not profit from free games - it treats them differently. I guess it is ok. Or not. And I have no idea what will happen after the price change.
That will happen in 2/2019. And it is not set in stone.

A new feature was added to SDK that I'm using - Linux Builds. In a few weeks expect Linux builds for my games. If you a Linux user and want to test my games - let me know.

I was taking a little break - decided to make a GUI for "Card Editor":

Now it does nothing - just a first step. You can use that code to copy to your mod. Maybe I will improve it. Maybe not. Definitely - I`ll add a relics and potions creator - since in RBQ they are children of the same class.
