You can now change the key binds to be whatever you would like for it to be. We are currently still working on getting the disconnection issues fixed. Hey everyone! Thank you all for an amazing launch so far. We have our first patch for you all today fixing some of the issues you all have been reporting. We are still actively working on finding solutions for some of the other issues which we have listed below. Hopefully this fixes some things for you all. If you haven't already, please consider leaving us a review. It really helps us out and we love getting to read everyone's feedback. Also we are working on getting key rebinding added into the game. Hello, today we have a lot of good updates to announce, we have made a lot of progress this past few months
All of the Monsters are now added into the game, the only thing thats left is the last boss!! Sneak peek of some end game monsters below!
We have all the structures in the game tested and ready to go. In the game we will have 41 structures to choose from!! You can see the shop list below!
All the Maps have been added into the game, finished, and polished! All maps also have survival mode working!!
Potions are now added into the game (eyes) make potions that will heal you up, or give you cool buffing effects!!

Magic Stones have been added into the game, with these stones you will be able to make powerful structures!

Hello everyone! Thanks for checking in its time for our Outbreak Log! Lots has happened since the last log:
Layouts
We revamped all the Guis in the game! In the gif below you can see that we simplified the map selection menu:
We also added new buttons, changed a lot of the labels, and made it so that our shop now organized all of the items by category (swords, axes, hammers, bows, structures).
Monsters
We have made a lot of new Monster this update like the Urchin shown below! Like the skeleton mage, the urchin has multiple forms that will have different status effects for the player when they are hit. Some other monsters we have been looking at include the intimidating ivy boar, and the ranged alien that we have called the beholder and more!
Maps
We are currently working a bunch of different maps. Here is a sneak peek of the new maps with the desert terrain!
Weapons
We are finished all the art for the tools in the game! Here is a sneak peek of one of the thunder enchantments!

Hello Everyone! Thanks for checking in its time for our Outbreak Log! Lots has happened since the last log:
Undead boss
The Undead boss is one of our upcoming bosses. We wanted him to be a trickier boss with lots of speed, and a poison-based attacks that the player will need to avoid (Also, he turns into a giant skull which is pretty cool):
Monsters
We also have a few new monsters, like the lich skeleton which will be reviving other skeletons downed in battle. This way, the player will have to worry about them even after death! The scourge bug is another exploding monster, that will go after objectives and points of interest.
Maps
We also have a few maps as well, like the new Undead maps, and the new town lobby map. This will pull double duty as a lobby for players to select their next map or purchase items, and the first map for one of our game modes!
Weapons
Lastly, our artists have also been hard at work creating a bunch of weapon sprites for players to use in game! We currently have bronze, steel, bone, obsidian, and dragon weapons! Hello Everyone! After a long hiatus, and spending a lot of time working on the game, we decided to start doing our Monster Outbreak Dev Logs again! Expect monthly logs from now on! Lots has happened since the last log:
Slime King
The Slime King is one of our upcoming bosses. He will keep players on their toes by trapping them in slime prisons, going after structures, and raining slime down from above!
In-Game Shop
Another recent addition to the game is Favians shop! Favian will always be around when you need him to sell you new weapons, structures, and player skins with your hard earned gold. So far the shop carries all of the structures added to the game so far as well as the new bronze and steel swords!
Environments
We have been hard at work getting together tile maps and environment sprites for all of the levels for the game. The tile maps that we have gotten done this past month are the desert and undead tilemaps, and we are continuing to work on the sprites for each. The desert tile map will be full of sprites like cacti, palm trees, and old ruins! The undead map on the other hand will have barren trees, and cemeteries to match!
Monsters
To match the undead environment, we wanted to have a bunch of skeletons to match. So far we have 4 skeletons that we have added. The bow and mage skeletons will attack from a distance, while the swordsman and spearman will come in close. The spearman has a strong shield as well to defend itself from incoming attacks!

Monsters
Hello! This week we have a few monsters to show off! First off as you can see above we have a mushroom monster! Some creatures in Monster Outbreak will be laying traps for the player to walk over, and as you could probably guess, the mushroom here has a poisonous purple spore trap that will cause the player to lose health! Next on the list here is the Blue Bomber:
They are pretty quick, and explode as soon as they are able to get in range! Best to either get them from a distance, or hit them away before they explode.
Split Screen!
One of the things missing in so many games, we wanted to make sure there was split screen for the game! This week one of the other things we worked on was getting multiple viewports properly working, and multiple controller input working:

This week, we have a few things to talk about. In the art department as you can see, we have the pixel art for our dimensional orb all done. This orb is what starts it all, and we wanted to open our game with this little guy for the exposition in the beginning of our game. The world map is also coming along nicely, although we dont want to show that off yet as it is not quite done.
MULTIPLAYER!
One of the things that we started working on this week was multiplayer!! You can see two characters hanging out here in the lobby below:
We wanted a lobby that allowed players the freedom to walk around and do what they need before the game starts, and this is only one of the lobbies that will be available in the full game. As of right now, we expect that the game will have up to 4 people playing together at one time. We plan on having the basic survival co-op mode, as well as a battle mode where you compete who can survive the longest, and a third where you protect a structure / point of interest from monsters. Right now, we are working on getting the multiplayer running in a playable state, then we will begin creating UI and systems to stitch everything together. Thats all for this week!

For log 2 this week, we only have a few updates for Monster Outbreak because unfortunately, technical difficulties (internet issues) prevented us from progressing as far as we wanted to this week. The system for in-game cutscenes has been completed, but the tutorial cutscenes themselves are still being finished up. A few pieces of art for the UI have also been done.
Future Monsters and Structures
As we develop the game, we also continue to brainstorm monster mechanics! Here are a few of our favourites that we thought of so far:
- Weak, but explosive enemies to keep players on their toes.
- Projectiles that can be reflected back onto monsters
- Segmented enemies (enemies that turn into smaller versions of themselves)
- Enemies with status effects for the player (ex. slow down speed)
- Structures that give player status upgrades (Cauldron)
- Barriers
- Slow down or stop monsters from moving

Demo??
One week ago, we said we would be doing a dev log for Monster Outbreak every week. So here we are. We decided to delay releasing our demo (originally intended for March), to add more things that will be in the full game:
- Showcase the in-game cutscenes with a tutorial sequence.
- In-game map to showcase game world and campaign structure.
- Menus and UI.
- Audio.
- In-game sprites and tilesets.
Progress
Okay, since last week we have added the dialogue system that the in-game cutscenes will use (with proper support for localization down the road):
We also started work on the in game map that will be used in-game to travel between levels:
Next Week

We are incredibly happy to share our project with you on Steam! Monster Outbreak is being developed and tweaked every day, and we wanted to make this post just to give a little run down of where we are now, and where we want to be in the future.

Whats Monster Outbreak?
Monster Outbreak is a wave defense game at its core. The flow starts with a resource building and gathering phase, followed by a wave of monster combat. How you do it is up to you, but you need to craft and build your tools:- Melee and ranged weapons, from swords to bows to magical staffs
- Weapon based structures like the bomb slingshot and crossbow turret
- Trap structures like spike traps and bomb tripwires
- Weapon enchantments for elemental attacks

It all started when they found the Dimensional Orb. Humanity just couldn't help themselves. The Orb was too tempting. We now had the ability to explore alternate realities, see things that we never could have imagined ourselves. Of course, when the orb began to go out of our control, we were now faced with an invasion from multiple dimensions.Yulia, a surviving Royal Guard is now the last hope.
