A new year dawns! The team has scraped the ice off of our smut-engines, and were right back into full production once again. This year is going to be the toughest one for us, creatively and financially, as we bring Ravager towards its glorious conclusion and lay the groundwork for what comes after. But we do like a challenge. Our lead writer Mattrex and I will be focusing on the main plotline. First well finish up Chapter Two: an expanded kobold hatchery, herald interactions, the war council, reconquest mechanics, updated horde visits, the final court event, and another snuggly sleeptime. Ill aim to have some progress on this track in each monthly update, big or small, until it is done. Then were going to begin work on our final segment, Act V Chapter Three. Meanwhile, the rest of our writing team under DoItToJulia will be fleshing out our game with new waifu content. I think its important to build wide as well as tall, and Julias team will be providing a satisfying girthiness to our work. You can look forward to more crossovers, more personal flavour, and more exotic things to do with your waifus. HereToHelp, who just finished the rebuild of our graphics system, is continuing his quest to make Ravager available to as many people as possible. The first version of this will be a streamer mode, which makes Ravager compatible with the onerous demands of different platforms. The second version of this will be Ravager: Moon-Friendly Edition, which will be of interest to players in more censorious localities. That goes hand in hand with our localisation teams under Soulphase, who will be pushing hard to improve our support for other languages. Our art team will be busy making illustrations for all our new content, as well as giving our more dated assets a good scrub. Ravager has been in production for five years, and our artists have developed their prowess and style over that span - so lets make sure that this is reflected in the final cut. Undoodle, who illustrated our beautiful splash art, has joined us as a visual lead for our next project, codenamed P2D. Shes been doing a lot of pre-production work, which Ill be able to share with you soon. If you love Ravager, but crave a more unified art style, youll be very pleased with our approach for P2D. A full announcement will go up after our next update. And of course there are the countless heroes who make this all possible: codesetters, playtesters, voice talent, sound engineers, translators, and many more. Theyre all gonna keep the engines turning as we race towards our destination. It has been observed that Im a little dry with communication, and thats something I want to fix (for people who like getting lots of updates). So Im now active on X and Bluesky, and I will aim to use them to share a little tidbit of what were working on each week. So follow me if you like the sound of that. And for everyone else: I wish you a glorious Year Of The Snake! Sh nin kuil! https://x.com/4MinuteStudio https://bsky.app/profile/4minutewarning.bsky.social
I'm proud to announce that we will be joining forces with Parasite Black as part of the upcoming Darkest Knights bundle. The creators of Parasite Black have been fans of Ravager since inception, and vice versa - now, after years of development, it's ready for you to own on Steam. If you like your fantasy dark, and your protagonists darker still, you're in for a treat. The Darkest Knights bundle will be 'Complete The Set', so you'll get a 15% discount on Parasite Black if you already own Ravager. Wishlist it now, as release is just around the corner! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2174500/Parasite_Black/

Our court events are done. our plot-essential new scenes are written, and we're quickly filling out the remainder of them. Our latest playtest build, our twentieth, brings us above 1,250,000 words. I am finaling about two thousand words every single day, so I expect that number to creep up significantly in the remaining time available. We have remastered our intro, improved our UI, mopped up dozens of bugs, and totally overhauled our graphics system. Our changelog is pages and pages and pages. Version 5.2.0 will be a very big update, our largest ever, but it will not be the whole of Chapter Two. It will be our foundation, aiming to have something of everything for everyone, and we will build upon it exactly as we did with Chapter One. We have had to omit a few things: faction catchups, the war chamber, possibly the the kobold hatchery, and the Chapters final conclusion. These will follow, as soon as they are ready - as will a whole bunch of crossover and flavour events that are not vital to pushing our story over the next page, and towards its well-deserved conclusion. Our target release date is 22nd November. If we hit critical problems immediately before release, that date may be delayed by up to a week. But you have waited long enough, and patiently enough, that I want to draw a line in the sand and give you what you deserve. And after thats done, were all gonna hibernate for a month. Our regular update cycle will return, with the advent of 2025.
Greetings from the smut-forge! Its looking fairly good over here all the fires have been put out, and our kobolds are (very) hard at work. Im not going to linger overlong on the calamitous month of May, besides to tell you that all of our problems have now been sorted and that Im still very grateful for all the support that youve shown us. We were able to get a reasonably chonky build out last month, which I am proud of, but it has also impressed upon me the need to focus. You might be experiencing a bit of update fatigue while waiting for Chapter Two, which I think is reasonable. For that reason, I have decided that our next update will be Chapter Two. We will halt our monthly update cycle to free up all of our resources, and fully commit them to the task at hand. And gosh, what a task! A novellas worth of court events, new interactions and scenes and costumes for our harem, and new developments amidst the various powers that brought you to the throne. And new offspring! Our lead writer Mattrex has been drafting this monster of an update since last year, and Irrelevant Art has been spending that time getting all our art assets ready. The principal bottleneck has been my own availability, which will now be laser-focused upon getting everything finaled and tested and ready for your enjoyment. That means this is likely the last youll hear from me for a little while. Ill return, triumphant, when were ready to finally turn that page. Until then, I hope you enjoy exploring what weve already created therell be a lot more of it, soon.

People frequently speak, in various shades of suspicion and superstition, of the H-devs curse - the tendency for developers in our space to fall afoul of variously awful and improbable fates. I think the most compelling explanation is that crises sometimes befall all of us; it is only when you have a large project that anyone else notices youre taken out of commission for a while. Working as a team provides a healthy buffer against that. The Ravager crew have individually sustained various slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune over the years, and our peers have picked up the slack until normality reigns again. But lady luck is fickle, and there is always a chance that she hits the core team with six unrelated crises in one month. It has not been a kind month. It would be possible to pull out all the stops, chug all the coffee, and do our damnedest to pretend that nothing has happened but that kind of crunch would mean making sacrifices on quality, as well as degrading our ability to continue work past the release of Chapter Two. Neither of those are acceptable to me, so instead Im here doing the thing I never want to do, asking for your patience. There will be no update this month; there has been plenty of progress on many fronts, but it isnt ready for primetime just yet. That also means that Chapter Two wont arrive to meet my original goal of first half of 2024, which is on me. As soon as the remaining fires are stamped out and I have a good sense of our new momentum, Ill get you a revised goal that I can be firmly confident in. Thank you for all of your support thus far and, I hope, your understanding. Ill be in the comments if anyone has questions for me.

Its here! Whether you want to chill to Marina Montagues soothing dragonsong, groove to Exo Spectras dark electronic arrangements, enjoy Emery Aylars delicate piano work, or spiral into infinity with Maya Faes guest track for Malice, the Ravager Soundtrack has you covered. All of our musicians and singers did a great job creating the soundscape for the game, and its a pleasure to share it with you all. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2558190/Ravager_Soundtrack/ Exo Spectra will be hosting a special livejam on our Discord server at 14:00 UTC on Sunday 28th to celebrate the album launch, and I hope you can join us then.

Im back! Its been a difficult couple of months for me; Corona-chan hit me particularly hard this time around. Fortunately, we have an excellent team, and they have kept everything in motion in my absence (and while Ive been catching back up) - something I am extremely grateful for. Now that things are back to normal, lets have a look at whats coming up. The first piece of news is that we have our soundtrack coming out later this month! This has been requested for ages and Im very glad to finally get it sorted. Youll finally be able to chill out to Marina Montagues beautiful voice, or bop to Exo Spectras insane beats. We have a launch party planned for the 28th April on our Discord server, if youd like to come along and listen to them jam together live for the first time. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2558190/Ravager_Soundtrack/ You might have noticed that our lead writer Mattrex has been very quiet this year. Thats because hes been working on Act V Chapter Two, which is now starting to be fed into the vast editing/coding/playtesting machine. Its already an easy hundred thousand words long, and will get bigger still before were done. Despite my virological woes, I still very much want to get Chapter Two out this summer, and I will be prioritising that work going forward. Which is not to say you wont have anything to enjoy in the months between! Our lead editor DoItToJulia and her team are busy filling out the remaining pieces of Act V Chapter One - Balthorne, Eburon, Mother, and Zizeryx. Our scene artist Lubbio is remastering his oldest work to bring it up to his (impeccable) modern standard. Our sound squad under HereToHelp is working on a fresh mountain of voice acting. And Exo Spectra is working on even more new music! So thank you, all you who support the game. With your help weve been able to build a little studio thats able to leap forward in many directions at once, even when Im out of the picture. And thats humbling, in a really nice way. The Ravager soundtrack will launch on 26th April, in two weeks! It features all variations of the Dragonsong composed and sung by our voice actress Marina Montague, the electronic suites created by Exo Spectra and arranged by GreyScale, and the guest compositions by Emery Aylar and Maya Fae. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2558190/Ravager_Soundtrack/ Picking up a copy is an excellent way to show your appreciation for the many talented musicians who contributed to Ravager's soundtrack, and give them your financial support. Midwinter is always the most cursed period of development - a constant onslaught of plagues, family commitments, and other terrible woes. This year, weve been able to keep the smut-engines running (at a slightly slower pace) throughout. Now the ice is thawing, spring is around the corner, and were revving up for the most pivotal year in our journey. First amongst our priorities is Chapter Two of Act V, which I know everyone is excited about, and which will release in June. This means a fresh roster of court events, which our lead writer Mattrex has been working on for the last few months. It also means we need to add the last interactions for Chapter One, and start populating new content for all your lovely waifus - a large team effort, expertly enabled by our lead editor DoItToJulia. Once we have that foundation laid we will continue to populate it with more content, in much the same way we did (and are doing) with Chapter One. Our sound team under HereToHelp have stepped up their production considerably, and you can look forward to a lot more voice acting, sound effects, and new music in the months to come. But Chapter Two is not the end of our main plotline! We will be gathering together all of our narrative threads, and allowing you to find the ending that best fits your dragon (and his harem), in Chapter Three. Thats all planned out, and ready to commence development as soon as we have Chapter Two in hand. Its going to be a very busy year. Before I get back to work, I ought to mention that its Ravagers birthday next month - the anniversary of my very first (and very humble) build. If you would like to celebrate, come join us over on our Discord server on Saturday 23rd March. There will be appearances from our voice talent, AMAs with the crew, party games, and all sorts of frivolity. All are welcome, and I hope to see you there.
For those of you who celebrate lunar new year, this might be the most exciting time in the calendar. And it can't have escaped your notice that we are welcoming in the Year Of The Dragon. I'm not usually one for festive art - however, this kind of opportunity does not come around often (or, indeed, ever will again). So here's a little bonus pic from Undoodle:
It is not traditional to mark the lunar new year with resolutions, but this is certainly an auspicious occurrence. It is my hope that we will have the main plotline of Ravager completed within this lunar year. And with the talent and support we've gathered along the path so far, I think we'll do exactly that. Lng nin dj!

Last month was a very difficult month, for reasons I can't talk about here. So I won't! Let's talk about development news instead. Our lead editor DoItToJulia is currently masterminding the completion of the last elements of Chapter One (including Balthorne, Eburon, Mother and Zizeryx), while our lead writer Mattrex is leading the charge into Chapter Two. We plan to release Chapter Two in the first half of 2024, as soon as it is ready. This is an adventurous timeline to pursue - theres an awful lot to write and draw - but we have our foundations in place, and we are very serious about finishing what we have started. Monthly updates will continue in the interim, as always. Our next one will arrive in the first weekend of 2024, after a brief shutdown across the festival period. These might be a little more media-focused for a while, as our writers attention is focused on preparations for Chapter Two, but our artists and voice talent will continue at full tilt throughout. Looking further out towards the horizon, we have also commenced very early pre-production for our next game, codenamed P2D. Our occasional splash artist Undoodle, who made the beautiful CGs for our set-pieces, is joining us as a full visual lead for it. We will be working on it at a gentle-but-steady pace, with the intent to have a demo available for you shortly after Ravagers main plotline is completed. You can look forward to a proper announcement about P2D in the near future. In the interim, I hope you all have a very cosy winter period (or a very breezy summer, if youre in the other hemisphere). I look forward to kicking off the new year with more high-grade draconic content for everyone. Cheers!

I am back! After a month spent catching up on sleep (and very occasionally other things), I am settled at my desk and burning through all the delicious content that was crafted whilst I was away. It is going slightly slower than I would like, thanks to my first personal introduction to COVID, but you can still look forward to a slightly-delayed release this coming weekend. Getting to the end of Act V Chapter Ones main plotline was a major undertaking, but its not the end of our work on the Chapter. We cant call the 5.1 branch done until all of our cast have new content in it! Enid, Eburon, Zizeryx, Balthorne, Mother, and Breaker are all jockeying for extra content and theyll all get it in the upcoming months. And at the same time, were preparing to make our jump into Chapter Two. That sounds like a lot of work, and it is. Fortunately, our lead editor DoItToJulia has had success with her writer recruitment drive, and our new crop of talent will yield its first fruit in the coming release. With your ongoing support, were able to bring more and more resources onto the project. So thank you, all, for that. In other news, we have continued our experiments with Live2D: Amon Ra has crafted a beautiful animated scene with it, which youll all see soon, and we are commencing very early pre-production work on what will happen after Ravager reaches its conclusion. More on that in our next State Of The Realm post!

Hail, conquerors! I am learning from the last State Of The Realm post and getting this one in early, in the soothing wake of an update, before I am inevitably swept up again in the riptide of pre-release activity. This month I will be monomaniacally focused, alongside our lead writer Mattrex, in getting things in position for the upcoming major update - version 5.1.0. That means our remaining faction catchups, the rest of the court events, and (dependent on playthrough) maybe some cutting-edge scientific experimentation. Thats a lot to write, and it wont all be done this month - but I am still angling to have it ready to share in Augusts update, if we can. With a big push like that, theres always a risk that other content falls fallow. Fortunately not! I have tasked our lead editor DoItToJulia with a writer commissioning drive, to swell our stable of talent. You can see the first results of that in our most recent update - I hope to continue that trend into the coming months. The work of new writers continues to course through our multi-step editing and vetting process, so you dont have to worry about any slip in quality. Many people have asked about the soundtrack of the game over the years - the wondrous work of numerous musicians and singers, not least Marina Montague herself. Thanks to the work of GreyScale, this has been arranged into a lovely-to-listen-to OST, which is currently going through repeated listenings and should be ready for launch in the early days of next month. In other audio news, we are joined by our new foley artist Raptorous. Sculpting a suitable soundscape is a big part of what I want to do, and I hope Raptorouss goopy contributions are well-received; there will be plenty more to follow in the months to come. And if theyre not to your particular pleasing, make sure to give the new slider a shimmy in the Preferences. Now, before I get back to my drafts, I wanted to quickly showcase some of the Live2D prototyping that I mentioned Amon Ra and Irrelevant Art were working on. I should stress that were not planning to perform any kind of graphics overhaul at this point in the games development, because that would be catastrophic. But our work does not end when this game does. With all that in mind, lets have a look at what the slightly-more-distant future might hold: [previewyoutube=IVKkpgGy4B8;full][/previewyoutube]

Hail to all you draconic kings (and queens, and other assorted monarchs)! This months State Of The Realm is a little later than usual - after the massive release of v5.0.5, I took a much-needed week off to go outside and touch some grass. And a very pleasant week it was. I figured that maybe this month would see a nice little tidying-up build, but no, everyone in the team has been extremely industrious and I am doing all I can to catch up. You should see the results this weekend, assuming playtesting goes smoothly. A lot of my other efforts this month have been focused around sound. It has always been my ambition to have a fully and professionally voice-acted game, and our means are slowly catching up with that goal. Thanks to you! Our newest VA Demi Goggles will be stepping up to voice Enid, and Commander Hector will soon have a voice also. Weve got new studio recordings from Catkit (Maelys) and Marina Montague (Adeline/Chia/Marie-Anne/Mina/Naho), including replacements for old voice acting done in far humbler times. Our range of ambient sounds is getting properly populated with Michael Ghelfis work, as well as an effects suite mastered by GreyScale (Ravager/Rhyll) - who has also been working on getting a full soundtrack ready for you all. And I cant go this far without giving a shout out to our amazing sound team (HereToHelp, GerdGenus, Mokkel, and Stuke), whose fierce work behind the scenes has kept pace with the avalanche of new recordings. Sound hasn't been our only area of focus, however. Amon Ra and Irrelevant Art have been spending a lot of time this month with Live2D! The results aren't quite ready to share - not just yet - but their work is very promising. If their experiments yield fruit, we'll see the benefits for the rest of Ravager's development. And beyond. Speaking of development, I had best get back to it. I'll leave you with this parting message, drawn and animated by BeeFeeBoyo on our Discord server, and voiced by Catkit herself. It has been a month of intense ups and downs, back here in the smut factories. Our sound director and good friend Spam passed unexpectedly, and weve taken a short while to find our bearings again. He is succeeded by a kindly group of volunteers: HereToHelp as coordinator, Mokkel and GerdGenus as engineers, and GreyScale as SFX artist. Together, we will finish the work that he was so eager to complete. In brighter news, we have a new full-time member of the team: Mattrex, who is stepping up as our lead writer. Its highly likely that youve enjoyed Mattrexs writing for Heloise, Malice, Malagar, Naho, and more; now youll get to enjoy much more of it, as he can commit completely to the project. Congratulations, Mattrex! And thank you, all - your ongoing support is what has enabled us to grow, and will continue to be seeded back into making an ever-better game for you. Looking forwards at the next few months, our first priority is completing our Act V Chapter One waifu content; Naho and Maelys have been waiting very patiently, and both will get extra time in the limelight. We will also be adding hordes - your various mortal and lair factions have important roles to play in Act V, and all have more dimensions wed like to explore. These elements will be added as soon as theyre completed, in our regular monthly updates. Once they are done, Chapter One will come to a rather thrilling conclusion in the v5.1.0 major update, expected this summer. And to look backwards, if you'll indulge me: March marks the fourth anniversary of Ravagers initial (and very modest) release. Back then it was one-and-a-half Acts of whatever I could cobble together during my commutes. We have come an extraordinary way since then! To mark the occasion, we are having a celebration on Discord this weekend (March 18th). Please come along if youd like to join us for AMAs, online games, and general frivolity.

We did it! A years background work, plus three months crunch, and weve turned the page into Act V. Decembers build is the biggest update weve ever done, in word count and file size and technical scope, and I hope youre enjoying the hunt for all its many possibilities. On my side, I have been catching up on sleep, and getting the team ready for our next major undertaking - which is to finish what weve now begun. Our first priority is to deliver the content that we wanted in for v500, but wasnt finalised in time. That means the bulk of the Court Events for Chapter One, Nahos catchups, and the continuation of Maelyss redemption and damnation plotlines. These will arrive into the game as theyre finished, alongside fixes for all the more obscure bugs that have been shaken out since release. Beyond that, we want to bring Chapter One to its conclusion. That means adding in some deep conversations with our various hordes and lair factions, plus more screentime for our minor characters - Balthorne, Chia, Enid, and others. Were also going to be implementing some of the prompts voted upon by our Dreamweavers, which happen to include plenty of delicious Malice material. That sounds like a lot, and it is. But fortunately, weve been met with a big surge in sales - which I can reinvest in the team, and our production. Most prominently: Mattrex, who you likely know from his work on Heloise and Malice, will be coming aboard as a full-time writer. Our sound engineer Spam has also been furnished with a budget for new sound effects and music. And we will see many more works from our splash artist Undoodle, our new editor DoItToJulia, and our countless voice actresses in the months to come. Ravager and its team will continue to grow as our following does. Whether youre a longtime fan or a fresh new face, you have yourself to credit for our success. So thank you, all - and heres to a glorious year to come.

Ah, the curse of H-development! Im not going to lie, it has been a rocky month or two for those of us tending the smut-engines. Both of my co-editors were struck down by multiple woes, which has squeezed our pipeline considerably. But if youre thinking this is a preamble to announce a delay, youd be wrong - we still plan to launch on the 29th December, assuming I can avoid whatever meteors are headed my way. Doing anything of note has always required making rude gestures at fate. We might not be able to add all the bells and whistles we had originally planned, but thats the joy of iterative development - we can always add more content, once this vital foundation is in place. At very minimum, you can expect fresh interactions with all the main members of the cast, and a proper introduction to the court mechanic. That alone makes this the largest update weve ever made, and I am very keen to share the results with you. Whether you are thirsty for new character developments, or pregnant waifus, or a god-kings authority, or just tasty lore, youll find something to satisfy you. And much more is to come in the new year, when we can move on from the nuts-and-bolts, and take advantage of the powerful new frameworks weve created. Im going to make this update rather brief, because Im sure youd all rather I got back to work as quickly as possible. The results will speak for themselves! In the meantime I hope you wrap up warm, enjoy whichever holidays are in fashion in your neck of the woods, and look forward to a spectacular climax at the end of the year.

It has been a hot minute since I had the chance to sit down and put my thoughts to paper. Pushing out a major update is a labour of love - but the umbilical cord has been snipped, and Im proud of the results. If you havent played Version 4.4 yet, I recommend you go do that. Because I think its pretty good, and because Im going to talk a bit about it here. A major update is an opportunity for us to do things outside the scope of small, monthly updates. That applies to scale - I think the volume of new media speaks for itself - but also more significant undertakings like new consort arcs. Nahos addition to the pool was a challenge, creatively: our approach to the harem format is to use it to write lots of different stories, and it had to be distinctly her own. The results may disappoint people who wanted a retread of Heloises saga, or something more reminiscent of anime tsundere tropes, but thats a risk we were willing to take - and plenty of other options exist for those wanting a more traditional romance. It provides tonal balance, and an option for dragons with a different sort of playstyle, and I think those are both worthwhile endeavours. With the dust cleared, our focus is now completely on Version 5.0. We already have more content ready for that than we added for 4.4, but its nature means we need to have everything ready to go before we turn the page into the new Act. I said it was planned for release later this year, which seemed a far more generous allocation of time when I first said it! But thats what I said, so thats what well do. We have all of our writers, editors, and coders planned in week-by-week to get it ready in time, and you can still expect it sometime around the festival period. If that ever has to change, youll be the first to know. In the meantime, were back to our regular update schedule. There will be a patch build arriving shortly, to tidy up our more esoteric bugs, and then a more traditional update later this month. Well see plenty more art and voice acting added in the next couple of months, but dont expect too much by way of new scenes - we are all, in absolute, committed to 5.0.

I promised you all a major update to enjoy whilst we're putting the finishing touches to v5.0.0. Today's news is that it is (almost) ready to share!
Version 4.4.0 is our last milestone before Act V. We've been working on it in the background for some time now, and it is considerably larger than a typical monthly update. You can look forward to a new consort option, new scenes, new illustrations, new animations, new voice acting, and a host of improvements to the game's UI. I'm limited in what I can say or show - so I'll just leave these pictures here, and you can draw your own conclusions.
Such a big update takes a little longer than usual to prep, playtest, and polish - so please bear with me for a week (or few) while I do so. Version 4.4.0 will release as soon as it is ready, in September.
The last couple of months have heralded a significant expansion of our numbers - the recruitment of Korwu as our second scene artist, HereToHelp as our newest writer, and the return of old hands like Mattrex, DoItToJulia, and Undoodle. This has given us a considerable boost in getting the rest of version 5 done, and weve already finished our second phase of playtesting. With the big number fast approaching, Id like to take this SOTR post as an opportunity to explain a little bit more about what weve been working on, why weve taken the approach we have, and when you can expect each part of it. Ive spoken before about how Act V is three smaller Acts in a trenchcoat - how does that cash out? What will our future version numbers mean?

Its a beautiful time of year, where I am: the weather grows warm, the days grow longer, and my to-do lists grow shorter. Act V has ceased to seem such an insurmountable mountain, and new chunks of it fall into place each week. So hows it all going? Weve finished our first phase of Act V playtesting, and were getting ready for our second. Over fifty thousand words (and a hundred new artworks) are in place, with more on the way every day. Those numbers will be higher still when were done - I am not content to make our final Act an afterthought, so every member of our cast is being given a full set of new (and deeper) interactions. Such ambition is not without cost. Ive talked about how this has been a difficult winter of development for us - some of that I could have foreseen (there is a plague going on, after all), some of it I could not. It seems doubtful that Ill hit my target of releasing v500 in the first half of the year, but it wont be very long after that either. I detest any kind of delay, but I detest short-changing you on quality a lot more than that: Act V will be the very best we can make it, the very quickest we can do so. And thats no passive goal. This last month Ive expanded our operations considerably, thanks to the support weve received. Korwu will be joining us as our second scene artist; her style is very compatible with Lubbios, and Im sure youll all enjoy the results. Voice acting has been rebooted in a big way, with a deluge of new recordings - youll hear the first of those in the next interim update, arriving soon. Translation efforts are now properly organised, and we have developed some bespoke tools to support them. And we have a couple of exciting pieces of news on the writing front that are not quite ready to announce just yet. Im about to head back to the grindstone, but Ill finish on a request - if you would like to help translate Ravager into your native tongue, please let us know on our Discord! It would be amazing to be able to share the game with more of the world, and for that we need our bilingual friends. In any case - stay safe, stay awesome, and Ill have more updates for you soon.

March is always an exciting month for us - a chance to look backwards, as well as forwards. Because three years ago, I posted the first demo of Ravager (put together over various commutes and late nights) onto Itch. Two years ago, we had a small but devoted following, and the beginnings of a team. One year ago, I was able to finally shuck the day job and give Ravager the full-time focus it deserves. And now were here, thriving, deep in the innards of our biggest and boldest undertaking yet. So much has changed in such a short period of time! Weve just topped ten thousand sales on Steam, and a thousand backers on our other platforms - an unimaginable number even a few months ago. And with scale, we can dream ever bigger. But back to the present! This last month saw the return of many team members we had (briefly) lost to plague, and other winter woes. It feels very much like were gathering full momentum, and ready to collide with Act V at speed. A good feeling. Speaking of Act V - I dont like leaving you for long months without chunky new content, so Ive put in two revisions to the dev plan. The first is that youll get a whole new consort arc to play with whilst were working on it. Im not going to give away any spoilers - but suffice to say that its very substantial, and very different to what you might be used to. The second is that well deliver the first chapter of Act V over two major updates - in v5.0, youll be able to hold court and spend quality time with each member of your harem. In v5.1, youll be able to catch up with your various hordes and minor characters, and play through its climax. The overall size of chapter one hasnt changed except to get a little bigger. But youll be able to play with some of the juiciest bits of it sooner, while we put the polish on the conclusion. As soon as were close enough to confirm dates, Ill let you know when to expect it.
In the six months we've been here on Steam, we've sold over ten thousand copies. Which is incredible! Thanks to you, we've been able to acquire the services of a full-time animator, two splash artists, an extra editor, and a lot more voice talent. We've even gained a little of what they call 'resilience', which means we're less vulnerable to the whimsies of crowdfunding platforms and censorship crusades. We came to Steam to expand our ability to make high quality smut, and now we can do exactly that. Every sale, every review, and every happy player contributes to making what we do bigger and bolder and better. So thank you, all, for making this possible. And thank you to Irrelevant Art, who has put together some art to celebrate the occasion! Here's to a brighter, sexier future.

Developing for Steam for the first time is challenging in a few ways, and one of those ways is getting achievements working properly. We've tightened up our playtesting process considerably, but a few particularly pernicious bugs slipped through before we did:

Annie over at Sex Positive Gaming has covered Ravager before, in her videos about Monstergirls and Pregnancy, but this latest accolade is a high honour indeed! You can hear more about her thoughts on Ravager, and the other greatest H-games of the year, over on her YouTube channel. Thank you, SPG! [previewyoutube=odHDLcROqLw;full][/previewyoutube]
I hope this deep, dark midwinter (for those in the northern hemisphere) finds you well! Midwinter is always a tricky time for development, between festivities and seasonal blues and winter colds (which are particularly popular this year). But we're continuing our work, and fighting the lewd fight. An update on how it's all going: Our current focus is Act V. We've discovered that there's a lot of new ground we want to cover - in conversations, worldbuilding, new scenes and choices - so our writers will be busy with that for a little while. Mina's new content alone covers ten thousand words (and counting), to give you a sense of the scale we're working at. But we're not going to leave you completely dry for new content in the interim. We have another full consort arc in the works, as well as more Dreamweaver scenes that will appear in the next couple of months. And all this industry on the writing side has given us an unusual glut of freedom for our art, which we're putting to good use. I'm working with Lubbio to hone our existing scene art, and produce some additional variations. Irrelevant is producing a new set of character emotes and clothing changes, while Amon Ra is reworking our old idle animations to unify our art style and proportions. You can catch their art streams on our Discord server, alongside GreyScale (voice of Rhyll and the dragon) doing some live miniatures painting. There's also some exciting news on the art front - I am working with a new splash artist to provide illustrations for some of our more exciting non-lewd scenes. It's still a bit too early to share progress with you, but hopefully you'll see the first of their artifice soon. Finally, we had to put a pause on voice acting for a little while due to budget constraints, but thanks to the support we've received lately we can start recording once again. Marina (voice of Adeline, Chia, Marie-Anne, Mina, and Naho) has a new studio set up, and will be once more lending her voice to our cast. With that, I'm going to get back to work. Here's to another glorious year - cheers!

I am quite attached to our release schedule, and our team is put together so that there is no single point of failure. However, even if you do that, sometimes every coder will get knocked out of commission at the same time, and there's not much you can do when that happens. Rather than deliver you a rushed or incomplete update, I'm going to merge this month's builds together and get you a single, chonkier one on December 18th. Sorry for the delay! We'll get back to our usual schedule after that.
Last weeks post left little space to talk about our current endeavours, so heres a quick view on where we are right now! The most important news is that weve begun work on Act V Chapter 1 in earnest. Planning is complete, and Im in the process of converting those plans into delicious sexy code. That means that updates will be a little smaller than usual for the next couple of months - because I cant show our work on the next major update until it is all done. But it is happening! You will not, however, be left twiddling your thumbs. Well be continuing our regular twice-monthly update schedule with additions to our other Acts. Our next build includes some long-overdue expansions for Issa, a crossover scene for Marie-Anne and Mina, and an assortment of additional delights. You can look forward to that on the weekend of 11th December! Im going to get right on that. Remember to wrap up warm (or stay cool, if youre in the southern hemisphere) and Ill have presents ready for you within the fortnight.
Ah, what a time to be alive! With Novembers updates in the bag, were now ready to move on to that greatest of endeavours - Act V. Weve had quite a few questions and speculation about what that involves, which is great; its good to see that everyone is as excited as I am. Ive spent a fair chunk of the last fortnight adding detail to my plans. Now is an excellent time, I think, to share those plans with you. What Will It Involve? Part of my enthusiasm for writing a fantasy saga has been the opportunity to finish it properly. Im sure we can all think of a beloved series that has a rushed or lacklustre ending; with Ravager, I want you to come away properly satisfied. That means Act V has to cover a lot of ground:

October is done, and the dust is clearing to reveal us - as ever - beavering busily away on what's to come. It has been a good month, on balance. We've had our share of plagues and other challenges, but we're still alive and kicking. The last pained struggles of moving platforms are fading away, and we've come out strong: a great and wonderful majority of our backers have moved over, providing our lifeblood for the times to come. And we've just received our first taste of our Steam sales (that's you!), which will allow us to expand as we've always hoped. And expand we will. The next month will see us able to bring our animator Amon Ra into the fold as the newest full-time member of the team. We've also been able to secure more of writer Mattrex and editor Julia's talents, and November will see a rapid acceleration of our voice acting work (which has long had to play second fiddle to other concerns). You'll be able to see the first benefits of that when our next update launches, on the weekend of the 6th November. It'll feature a lot of content for our last character to finish their Act IV arc, Maelys, as well as assorted delights and revelations for Valzira, Malagar, and more. Look forward to it! I certainly do.
