After many months, we are happy to announce Intro Revamp, Night-Time Open PvP And Instances Update for Nightmare you can find below this the patch notes. Based on the feedback we received over the past few months, we have completely revamped the intro and lower level experience - giving it not only more direction in terms of how to play, but also a much smoother experience. You can help us create a successful relaunch by starting a new character and trying out the start of the game afresh, then relaying any feedback to the team.
Bug fix
- Earl the Grey now refers to Jelli as "Jelli" instead of slimes,
- Fixed a server vulnerability,
- Fixed a visual bug with fire basins,
- Fixed Speed up and Slow spells
- Fixed Registration GUI,
- Fixed blocking issues with some Obelisks,
- Fixed a bug where picking up items would crash the game,
- Fixed cooldown on Kamikaze being 0. It's now set at 18s,

Changes
- Peter at the Help Desk now offers the option: "Where can I buy stuff?" instead of "Where can I buy weapons and armor in town?",
- When Peter asks "Anything else I can help you with?" it will now show his name in the text field,
- Set gear to require a static level, rather than changing according to the level of the player that farmed it. This should help improve the resale of items. A side effect of this change may result in the recalculation of stats for certain items however this is a much needed change for the future of the game so we hope you can respect this,
- Removed random equipment rare effect generation. We want gear to feel unique and have more individual purpose within the game and we think the current method contradicts what we want to achieve here. Gear can still be crafted using carbuncles for exact effects though (hopefully giving crafting more purpose),
- Earl the Grey's dialogue regarding abilities has been changed to: "To use abilities simply open your Ability Book menu and click on the ability you wish to use. Alternatively you can drag abilities and items to the hotbar located at the top right of the screen.",
- Earl the Grey will now initially reward a recall ability for the Imperial Training Grounds called "Soldier's Rest". After you kill the God of the Shrooms he will award "Wings of Odium", which teleports the player the the northwest corner of Odium,
- Since pvp games can happen at the same time now due to map instancing, we have added a PVP spectate window to select which match you wish to spectate,
- The previously VIP exclusive Testing Grounds can be now accessed on the test server through the Testers Realm (accessed through /debug),
- When speaking to Lucid during Dangerous Ties the option to learn about Black Shadow League will simply say "Black Shadow League?" instead of "Who is the Black Shadow League?",

Bug fix
- Fixed a bug where the minimap was not redrawing after entering the UI Settings Window,
- Fixed a bug where the hotbar was not redrawing after entering the UI Settings Window,

Dear players,
We are pleased to be able to officially announce the update schedule for the start of 2022. We have planned as you can see 7 updates that will bring a lot of content to the game for this year. Whether the content is PvE or PvP everyone will find what they are looking for in Nightmare this year.
After these 7 updates, we think we are focusing on more and more content, we have tons of ideas and systems that we wanted to be able to add to the game quickly. A lot will change, but we've taken your feedback into account in shaping these updates and we hope you all enjoy these updates.
The update schedule may change depending on the progress of our work and may be subject to change. If so, we will keep you informed of any delays.

We are pleased to announce our 27th update. This update brings a large number of bug fixes and also some highly requested GUI changes which we aim to help improve your experience whilst playing Nightmare. This update also announces the arrival of the Christmas event. You can see more information about this event on its dedicated page. Bug fix
- Fixed entity HP & Casting bars looking off,
- Fixed some labels that were not getting cleaned up properly on the quest window,
- Fixed shield bars looking visually off,
- Fixed quantity defaulting to 0 for buying items,
- Fixed Numeric Input window crashing the game when manually entering a number larger than the stack limit,
- Fixed large sprites rendering over the GUI window for target boxes,
- Fixed the options controls windows for both ingame and through the main menu.
Changes
- Added mouse scrolling for the world map zoom in/zoom out,
- Added the item required for gather tasks to the quest window GUI,
- Added keyboard shortcuts for the Bestiary window (B by default), Pet window (N by default) & the world map (M by default),

- Set a max cap for numeric input boxes to be 1 Million by default or the items stack limit (Dropping, buying & selling dialogues etc). Prevents it looking visually bad and the slider scale being so far off,
- Optimized the world map to be extremely light weight on the lowest of spec computers,
- Added minimap zoom with scroll wheel,
- Improved auto attack logic to ignore resources with the incorrect tool equipped,
- Added a custom resolution option to manually enter your monitors resolution in the options. This is capped at 3072x2496 due to the fact that the game clients only loads 9 maps into RAM and that is the maximum size in pixels this format supports. We will be looking into potentially allowing players to go above this as most players with 4K monitors have better rigs to handle loading more maps in memory.

Hello everyone, As part of the global Overhaul Update, we have decided for the good of the game and to focus on the actual needs reported by players, to delay all of the PvP content originally planned. In order to make the game better for old and new players alike, as our last article on our website indicated, we are working on a global rework of many systems, like damage, monsters and much more. A first update will be planned on the Test Server as soon as we feel that we are ready to deploy a first draft of our work so that it is improved thanks to your feedback, which will hopefully be numerous. PvP Balancing will not be available until the release of the Overhaul Update. The many changes planned for the title will affect pvp balance, and therefore we will be holding off on this element until we can fix the major issues at hand. This is why the Overhaul Update will be on the Test Server for a long time as we all find a balance for each element of the game. For us, doing this rework is a way to breathe new life into Nightmare and we always want to make it better. The Nightmare Team.

Hey everyone, As per the most recent patch, all new development is now being tested on the test server. With this change we are delighted to start a process we have been wanting to get you all involved in for a while. Over the last few months we have been collecting data and suggestions from all of our players to try and figure out the core problems with Nightmare. We have composed a list of ideas gathered that we think will make Nightmare better. Please note that not all of these changes will happen and is subject to change based on player feedback. Ideas may be voted out given enough votes so make your voice heard! Whats next? We will be sending out lots of polls to gather users feedback. We will also be opening up Knights Of The Round to offer suggestions to put forward ideas to add to this document. These suggestions must be voted in by the players and the developers of Nightmare to go forward with implementation. If you are not a member of Knights Of The Round you can post in discord suggestions discussion channel or apply to me a member of Knights Of The Round here. Once we have come to a good agreement on what needs changing is when the fun starts! Kibbelz will be hosting dev streams while implementing the changes alongside other developers here. Hello everyone ! We are happy to share our 26th patch with you. This patch notes includes new features, bug fixes and changes for Live and Test Server.
New Content
The Great Ascent is officially ready for players to access, and the level cap will be increased to 50. This applies to both standard level and tradeskills.
New Features
- New world map and improved quest and town markers to help players from getting lost,
- Add a chat ... animation to appear when player is typing,
- Added map terrain slow tiles (You will see places where we use this feature coming soon),
- Added a feature for larger NPC's to take up multiple tiles rather than just one. (Primarily used for very large bosses),
- Added a new ladder tile.
Changes
- Reworked stat point cap to not be based off total base stats but purely off stat point allocations. Due to this change, maximum points that can be allocated to a given stat is now changed to 50,
- Properly clearing the players damage map from dead targets which previously was causing defensive pets to act aggressively,
- AoE hitbox frames now render below characters,
- Improved Sliding,
- Improved slow spells logic so slowing actually slows,
- Improved animation rendering order logic.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug where spells could ignore cast time when swapping spells whilst casting said spell,
- Fixed a bug where skin cosmetics were not rendering when there was no equipment equipped for that slot,
- Fixed an unhandled exception when drawing AoE Hitboxes rendering out of bounds,
- Fixed a bug where dropping an equipped item would crash the game,
- Fixed a bug where double clicking to deposit equipment would equip the item and deposit the unequipped item,

Hello everyone! After a few days of discussion with you, as well as between us, we have decided to open a Trello Board to follow all the progress of the different tasks for each new update. We will keep improving the game in order to make it even better! That's why we are proud to announce the release of our 24th Nightmare update. Temporary Content
Halloween is coming to Nightmare from October 27 to 7th November. Get excited for exclusive event themed skins and items ! The Halloween Event is broken down into 4 zones:
- Spooky Town : Shaped like a Pumpkin, Spooky Town is the main town where all the monsters gather to buy things with their Candy Corn - The main currency within Spooky Town,
- Cryptic Cathedral : The first dungeon - An underground burial grounds where the walls are made out of the skeletons of Spooky Town,
- The Catacombs : The second dungeon - An Ancient Cathedral dating back 10,000 years. Complete this dungeon by working as a team with other players,
- Spooky Dungeon (Raid) : Little is known about this event... But legend has it that tributing 10,000 Candy Corn at the altar will cause something to happen...
New Content
To be released at some point during the patch after being tested on the test server, on release of The Great Ascent, level cap for characters and tradeskills will be increased to 50. We are happy to announce the arrival of the new zone The Great Ascentwith its small village named Hermit's Valley and these two dungeons, The Great Ascent Cave and Memory Castle)as well as new watches and equipment arrives with this new zone.

Hello everyone ! We are happy to share our 23rd patch with you. We've had a long discussion about the recent updates and changes on Nightmare and we have decided to space the release of updates to two days per week. This patch notes includes new features as well as the latest live changes.
New features
- Revamped crafting system,
- Carbuncles are mods that you can apply to your gear when crafting to provide bonus effects like life-steal, they drops from ores & raid boss.
- Raid Bosses will finally be re-released. Raid bosses have higher drop rates than regular bosses on dungeon gear, drop high level Guardian ability books, drop Magichest keys, and other rare items,
- Magichests will be fully implemented allowing players to get their hands on some treasure. Magichests have random drops, some of which are extremely rare & valuable,
- Kolasi - The Underground PvP City, the city will be released during the patch and available to everyone,
- Home of The Syndicate, Kolasi has 24/7 pvp for those who want to hone their skills or just want an option to pvp in the day. A dangerous Werebear will spawn here, but he does so randomly meaning players must find his location. Rare resources will also spawn here, and quests will be available for Red Diamond. Red Diamond may be used to purchase rare items.
- Insect Lord Entomo is a raid boss that is a combination of humanoid and insect. It will spawn after 100 players kills on Kolasi,
- Added a smart AoE System, this system will be added to bosses and rolled out over the course of this patch live for more interesting boss battles,
- Added player dueling.

- Arcanist - All Seeing Eye : Sees through enemies defenses lowering their Resist for 5 seconds. Cleanses the caster from all negative effects for the duration,
- Assassin - Backstab : Sneak up on the target and deliver a deadly blow. Causes a bleed effect lasting 3 seconds. User is invulnerable for duration,
- This ability will be level 25, and Poison Dagger will become 2nd ability for Assassin,
- Berzerker - Adrenaline Rush : You become engulfed in rage buffing both Attack, and Speed for a duration. (This would take on the same action as "Savage Fury"),
- Berzerker - Savage Fury Revamped : Hit the target mulltiple times, silencing for the duration. Lasts 3 seconds,
- Cleric - Sacred Chant : You chant a holy verse, causing all enemies in the vicinity to be damaged & snared for the duration. Lasts 4 seconds,
- Monk - Psionic Assault : Deals a burst of psionic damage to the target lowering their Attack, Defense & Resist & silencing for the duration. Lasts 5 seconds,
- Paladin - Disarm : You strike the opponent's weapon, causing a reduction in their Attack & snaring for a duration. Lasts 4 seconds,
- Sniper - Rain Of Fire (This will become level 30 ability, with others being pushed down in level.) : Fiery arrows descend up on your enemies, causing burn damage over time. Lasts 5 seconds,
- Spellblade - Quantum Vortex (Would come before Magic Mobility) : Snares the target, and surrounding targets, in a vortex for 5 seconds, dealing damage over time.

Hello everyone, We now bring you the rest of the Pets Update. Pets are no longer broken up into 4 classes as they are now classless! Spells are no longer awarded to pets on leveling up and now can be learned by teaching them pet spells (Maximum 4). Each time your pet levels up you can add points to your pets stats. Pet spells can be bought from the pet shop for 2000 gold and also drop from the 4 Pyramid bosses. We also added the highly requested feature to rename your pets as well as some general bug fixes.

Hello players, This major update for Nightmare introduces a new Pets system but also a big change to how dungeons work. Let us introduce you to this new update feature, change and bug fix.
Update feature
- A new pet window containing Pet stats & behaviours,
- You can set your pet to be aggressive (Attack any targets in range),
- You can set your pet to be defensive (Attack any targets in range that have attacked the owner),
- You can set your pet to follow the owner and ignore all Npc's,
- You can also set your pet to fight in either close combat range or keep its distance and fight with only spells,
- If a pet goes outside of its range it will teleport to its owner (No more pets getting stuck when traveling long distances!),
- Pets no longer waste spells healing/shielding you on full health. They now won't cast these spells until the targets health drops below 80%,
Coming Soon
- The ability to set your pets name,
- The ability to spend stat points for your pet,
- Pet spells are going to become dropable from bosses which can taught to your pet,
- Global exp & luck potions.
Dungeon changes
We have had a lot of complaints regarding players who prefer to PvE (and rightfully so) getting forced into PvP scenarios. We also understand and respect our PvPers right to PvP as for them its the entire purpose of the game. But what is not fun is getting killed when you just are sitting back and relaxing just trying to enjoy the game for what it is. We believe this will offer a solution for both types of players. PvP mode needs some risk vs reward elements so we added a 10% Luck & Experience buff when fighting in a PvP dungeon instance which we believe is a fair compromise. We will be actively monitoring the health of the 2 dungeon queues over time. We have decided to remove PvP in the earliest dungeons, (We may decide to add it later due to popular demand) but all of the following high level dungeons will be split into 2 map instances. Hi everyone, Kibbelz here and I'm going to explain the new Pet system being rolled out during the upcoming patches. Right now pets are really buggy and bad. So I decided lets fix that alongside adding some nice quality of life features along the way. What was added this patch:
- A new pet window containing Pet stats & behaviours.
- You can set your pet to be aggressive (Attack any targets in range)
- You can set your pet to be defensive (Attack any targets in range that have attacked the owner)
- You can set your pet to follow the owner and ignore all Npc's.
- You can also set your pet to fight in either close combat range or keep its distance and fight with only spells.
- If a pet goes outside of its range it will teleport to its owner (No more pets getting stuck when traveling long distances!)
- The ability to set your pets name
- The ability to spend stat points for your pet
- Pet spells are going to become dropable from bosses which can taught to your pet

Many ages ago a primitive race of frog-like creatures called Anura decided they did not want to labor tirelessly in the heat of the sun anymore. But, to ease their labor they knew they would need help. So, using powerful magic imbued into orbs they formed the first humans from the elements. Some of these humans would serve the Anura with the utmost devotion, even venerating the Anura as gods in some localities, while others chose to decide their own fate and formed their own villages & cities throughout Sylvenus.
When the Dracon from the moon Fengari saw the power the Anura had to create life, they decided to come to Earth & learn from this magic from them. Eventually, the Anura & Dracon became close allies and together they would set up kingdoms in Sylvenus. These kingdoms are known collectively to this day as the Sylvenian Empire.
The Empire would be ruled over by the Archon, who carried genes from both humans & the Dracon - created by powerful Draconian arcanists after learning the ancient magic of the Anura. Their servants would be the humans who, in return for gifts, would mine gold & collect other rare resources for the Archon. Because of their affinity for the arcane arts, the Anura became priests & priestesses of The Moon Cult who seek to preserve ancient knowledge & uphold the power of the Empire.
After many years of service to the Archon a war broke out between some of the humans & the Archon rulers. All those rebels who rose up against their power were sentenced to exile or made guardians of the Archons' homelands. A high-ranking member of The Moon Cult called The Oracle placed a powerful curse on the rebels, turning them into creatures who transform at night: Vampire, Werewolf, Salamander & Cyclops. Humans living within the Empire's borders are taught to shun these creatures, and they are generally considered outcasts by most - living in exile or as refugees.
Your journey begins in Castle Odium where you have been recruited for the Empire. You have no knowledge of what happened before, only that your duty is to help the King and the Royal Court. Discover your past & forge your destiny as the story unfolds in the mystical lands of Sylvenus.
Travel through the world of Sylvenus defeating enemies & leveling your character. There is a main story quest and numerous side quests your character may engage in. However, Nightmare is an open world game & you may do these quests at your own leisure.
Tradeskills allow your character to both harvest better resources & craft more powerful items. You can go mining, fishing, become a blacksmith, & even cut gems to be used in crafting. There are 14 tradeskills in total.
Once you join a clan you have the ability to transform at night and engage in world PvP. There are PvP events that reward players for their performance.
You can buy a house & decorate to your liking. Other players in the world may visit your house, as well.
The world of Sylvenus is an evolving world. We already have planned expansion content, including whole continents, which will add to the lore & overall experience of the game.
